Reviews for O'Connor's Guesthouse

Review 1:A bit of a smell in the corridor from the central heating boiler

Review 2:Huge room, good breakfast, parking both free and convenient. Close to a couple of Irish pubs offering good food, and Irish music. A great base for visiting the Aran Isles and Cliffs of Moher, and touring the Burren and other parts of Western Ireland

Review 3:Great location close to the centre of Doolin and a short walk to 3 Pubs serving food and good beer with Irish trad sessions. Very clean and bright. Friendly and a good breakfast. Probably the best accommodation on a 12 day trip to Ireland.

Review 4:Had to book in a time for breaky, but I suppose it's to be expected when they cook to order. Beds are a bit hard too.

Review 5:Fantastic location, right near the pubs. Gorgeous surrounds. Wheelchair friendly theoughout. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast each day. Great communal lounge areas.

Review 6:Breakfast was fair. The bedroom ceilings slanted and you had to be careful not to bump your head. Very small bathroom. Outside looked more like a small hotel.

Review 7:The location

Review 8:Spacious room and bathroom; attractive decor, no carpets (so no musty smell), lots of room to hang and arrange personal items, great view, extremely friendly and helpful host with good suggestions for routes to take, places to see, where to eat and listen to music, how to get where we wanted to go, etc. Wished we could stay longer. A great place.

Review 9:The upper floor is slightly less comfortable as there is no lift

Review 10:Large and bright rooms, comfy beds, drawing room with large window on the Burren landscape, great breakfast with traditional and continental foods; location is very central in the dispersed village

Review 11:I really don't understand all the great comments on here. This is a budget b&b run with minimum effort from the owner. Our arrival was obviously inconvenient because our reception lasted all of 30secs and we didn't see her further on our 2 night stay. The bedroom is very basic complete with a 12 inch black box. I had to explain to my 15yr old that it was a tv. The bathroom was very roomy but still very basic with nowhere to put your toilet bags. We had to order breakfast the night before and the breakfast experience itself was like being in a hostel. The 2nd morning the lady helping began setting up the table for the next guests while we were still sitting there! Just rude!

Review 12:Nothing. Drive past quickly unless you want to stay in a 1970's decorated hostel.

Review 13:A very large B&B and as a result felt a bit impersonal. WiFi was a bit iffy and TV set not exactly modern.

Review 14:Cleanliness was excellent. Size of rooms were first class. Good location with in good weather loads to do and see in the area.

Review 15:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless and the beds were really comfy just what we needed after a hectic day sight seeing. I brought my 8 year old son with me ( it was his birthday Saturday) as a treat and he enjoyed it to.Highly Reccomend it and we will be back!!

Review 16:Came here w my boyfriend and my parents who were over from Canada. We were made to feel so welcome from the second we arrived. It was warm and cosy. Breakfast was amazing. Highly recommended!!

Review 17:On arrival we were told our family room rate was based on 2 children 12 and under. Our kids are teenagers and we agreed to pay 20 euro more. Didn't have this issue at the other 2 properties we stayed at with similar accomadations, but once this was cleared up the stay was good.

Review 18:Nice property in Doolin. Close to the pubs and shops. Host made very good recomendations.

Review 19:Rooms were large and comfortable, very clean. Loved the guests sitting room with the wood burning stove and games and videos for the kids. Others have said that the location was not as central as indicated but we found it very convenient and a pretty short walk to all pubs!

Review 20:I only knew the next morning that a single rooms were available, but it was not shown on bookings.com. I find that everyone that are offering rooms on this site should put up more info for solo travelers.

Review 21:The place The staff The living room The room The bed

Review 22:Nothing.

Review 23:First of all the proprietors are wonderful and welcoming of their guests. The property is immaculate and the location is within walking distances of some of the best music pubs that can be found. No need to drive back to the room after an evening of music and pints. We'll be back.

Review 24:Nice and close to the pub where we enjoyed authentic Irish music! (maybe a pint or two!) Easy access to the Cliffs of Mohr, walking distance to the ocean. Very comfortable, clean, friendly and welcoming, and the food was good!

Review 25:Our room was on the parking lot side of the building. Security lights from the parking lot shined into the room even with the curtains shut.

Review 26:Excellent location of lodge.

Review 27:Nothing at all!

Review 28:Extra large rooms, fantastic bathroom, lovely breakfast, super views, great pub at the bottom of the lane AND a brightly burning open fire in the spacious guests' lounge every afternoon.Amazing!

Review 29:The bathroom was a bit small, but not really a problem. Room could have been a bit warmer.

Review 30:Nice large room, great breakfast, good location. Lovely people.

Review 31:Nothing - it was all good!

Review 32:We really enjoyed our weekend at O'Connor's. great location, warm welcome from Joan, the landlady, spotless accommodation, warm & cosy on the wild Autumn evenings, great breakfast (especially the home-made scones!). We'll be back!

Review 33:Since there are no street addresses in Doolin, was a little hard to find. Thank goodness there was a photo on the Booking.com site otherwise we never would have found it.

Review 34:Really large and comfortable room and good breakfast. Easy to walk to the different pubs in Doolin and to the Walk to Cliffs of Moher!

Review 35:There really was'nt anything to complain about.

Review 36:Loved the horses playing outside our window. Nice view of country side and castle ruins. Loved the big bathtub. Great location to pubs and sights.

Review 37:We had difficulty finding it as there was no sign naming the building. With no street or house number the GPS couldn't help. We were given directions by a friendly cafe worker.

Review 38:We were given a lovely big room with a nice large ensuite bathroom. The place was not right in the village but right across the road from a great pub with good food and live entertainment.

Review 39:Large and spotlessly clean room with excellent bathroom. Quietly located for good nights sleep but close to all facilities and entertainment. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

Review 40:Very sweet and kind staff. They gave us an extra big bedroom so we had room for the pack and play for our 4 month old. It was nice and quiet, a big room with a nice big bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable. The best part was we had a great breakfast!

Review 41:lots of other B&B and camping in the area so can be a little noisy at night with pub-goers returning.

Review 42:we couldn't have been made more welcome. owner lovely, guesthouse in a great spot in doolin village and room was perfect.

Review 43:Felt more like a hotel than a B&B. Kids, (17 & 19), got grief from the owner for being in wifi hotspot after midnight.

Review 44:En suite bathrooms. Nice breakfast.

Review 45:Owners and staff were lovely and very helpful. We liked where the guesthouse was located, just outside the village, 8 min (easy walk) walk to the main street, but with pubs and restaurants, hostels very close. Great craic in O'Connors hostelry !

Review 46:The only negative was that we did have to call to find out where to go--not unusual in a small place in Ireland.

Review 47:Easy walk to pubs and close to shopping and attractions. Staff was responsive and room was spacious and clean.

Review 48:The bed and bathroom was very spartan. The hostess was in a hurry. Not hospitable. Doolin has only 3 pubs, that is far too little for all the tourists. We escaped for dinner to Liscannor.

Review 49:Nice view. Big room. Good breakfast. We had a lovely dinner at Vaughans Anchor Inn in Liscannor.

Review 50:O'Connor's Guesthouse is an attractive, clean, and spacious accommodation. Room was very large and bathroom was incredibly spacious. Breakfast was excellent—you order the evening before. Nice deck out back where you can have a bottle of wine before heading out for evening. Host was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.

Review 51:Excellent location near the Cliffs of Moher walking trails, and the ferry to Aran Islands. Very clean and spacious, with excellent cooked to order breakfast. Friendly staff and warm hospitality.

Review 52:The room was spacious, and it had a huge bathroom which we appreciated after many small bathrooms. Everyone at the guest house was exceptionally nice and helpful.

Review 53:A little far out of town but after their amazing breakfast good to walk it off!!!

Review 54:It was about 3 mile walk into town and some of the walk along busy road. BUT we passed a touching 911 memorial in the middle of the farmlands. We had to cab home at night of course. Beautiful view, very very nice accommodating proprietors, loved them! I'd go back:)
