Reviews for Paulay Borház és Vendégház
Review 1:Nothing. Perfect experience.
Review 2:Beautiful, welcoming, clean, all wooden interior. Superb owners who care so much and went out of their way for us. We had a great time and highly recommend this place.
Review 3:The hosts were really nice people. Room was very clean and cozy. We felt like at home. The winery and restaurant's info they gave us were extremely helpful. We tried about 5 different wineries and bought a case of wine from a place they recommended. They also have their own winery. Worth trying! The hotel is about 15 min walk from the train station with luggage. It is in a very good location. Not hard to find. When we checked out they even drove us to the station! Again, super nice hosts!
Review 4:Everything you read in the traveler advisor web site is the way it is (excellent) and the photos are not doctored to make the facilities look better than they are. There is a picture in the basement than shows the place before the renovation. I can only imagine the money and effort that went into making this building what it is today. If you plan to drive here be aware that the street it is on is very short, very narrow and easy to miss when you get to its intersection with the main thorofare. There is a sign to assist you but if someone is standing in front of it, you will not see it.
Review 5:The bed could have been a little softer for me, but I slept well. Fortunately I could pick the softer of the two beds in my room.
Review 6:This is a bright, attractive remodel of an old house; it has been done well. The guest rooms and shared kitchen are on the top floor, wine tasting and breakfast are on the basement/cellar level. Linda is one of the best hostesses I have encountered in many decades of work/leisure traveling. She really cares that her guests are comfortable. She went out of her way to make helpful arrangements for me. Her breakfasts are superb. Ask for her home-made apricot jam. It will be the best you've ever had. The wines are also excellent. I am a vacation rental owner/manager myself. It is not an easy job but Linda does well.
Review 7:No bad experiences
Review 8:Fantastic accommodation, very friendly and helpful host, great facilities. Lovely spot to relax and enjoy a nice friendly, homely, & clean environment.
Review 9:Linda and her husband are the great hosts I've ever met. Mostly is Linda managing the accommodation for the guests. She is dedicated and keen to make the stay of the guests great. The room is clean. The breakfasts she made were extremely delicious and different every day! The wines in Paulay Borház are as good as the hosts. They have their own characters and are worth tasting/drinking. Highly recommend place to go and stay!
Review 10:Paulay Borhaz is a lovely guesthouse in a great location just off the main street of Tokaj. The room was clean and comfortable. A highlight was tasting the house wines in the evening! Linda was especially helpful, taking me to the train station to make certain I caught my train.
Review 11:Both hosts were really friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Linda's homemade breakfast was amazing, homely and very delicious, so do get it when you stay over! It was difficult getting around (out of Tokaj town centre) without a car and there were some complications booking a taxi. She was very kind, helping to arrange the transfers during the stay, offering a lift to the train station when leaving and helping at the counter when buying my tickets.
Review 12:Great localization, just a minute from the market square. There a patio, tables with umbrellas where one can sit and enjoy wines. In the basement there is a cellar with house wines. Owner speaks english fluently, keeps everything running smoothly.
Review 13:We had a very enjoyable stay here. The owners were both very friendly, their wine is excellent, the room was very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was wonderful. I only wish that we could have stayed in town longer.
Review 14:Could use a little table in bathroom to put toiletries on. Also a small table in hall area to put luggage on.
Review 15:We loved their wine and they more than generous with sharing all their different types of wine. Also taken to one of their 3 small vineyards.
Review 16:We went to Paulay Borház for the third time. As usual the atmosphere was great. Linda and Peter are great hosts. We had a possibility to help them picking grapes. We learned a lot about making wine and "palinka" and of course we taste it. We hope our harvest will help Peter to produce very good Muscat we are going to try next year. Everything combined we sunny and fresh climte made us very happy. For all of future guests thinking of visiting Tokai - Paulay Borház is the best choice.
Review 17:We wish we could have more time talking with Linda, she was great to chat with about everything!
Review 18:There was nothing we did not like at Paulay Borhaz! The wine was the best in all Tokaj. Linda and Peter are both multi-lingual. Very knowledgeable, incredibly kind and very hard working. The accommodations were clean and the self-serve kitchen had everything you would need for a drink or meal. We strongly recommend this accommodation.
Review 19:It is a very cosy pension located just few meters from the main road in Tokaj. Owners are extremely nice and helpful, the wine is very good and roms are fine What is more, there is a beautiful garden, where sitting under a peach tree you may enjoy the wine, wathing local siamese cats playing.
Review 20:The panzio is a lovely place with a lush flower and vegetable and fruit tree garden, in a secluded, yet perfectly located part of the town. The hosts were very nice and as a benefit, Linda spoke English fluently and was very helpful during our short stay. The rooms felt new and fresh, and were comfortable and clean.
Review 21:6 of us booked 3 rooms as this B&B. Each of the rooms contained a small entry area. From that area there were 2 addtional doors--one that went to your bathroom and another that went to your bedroom. All doors locked--so you basically had 2 locked doors into your bathroom or bedroom, which was very secure. There is a communal kitchen that all people staying at the guesthouse can share, should they choose to use it. All the facilities were very modern and appeared to be brand new. It was very clean. We ordered breakfast, and for 1000 forints each had great meal that included ham and eggs, homemade cake (which was still warm from the oven) coffee and homemade juices. The owner Linda spoke exellent English. Included in our stay was a winetasting of the wines they make. We very much enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to recommend this Vendeghaz.

Review 33:Nice familial atmosphere. Fantastic wine from owner,s winyard. Quiet place near the centre of the Tokaj. Stork nest in front of the window!
Review 34:We should have planned to stay at least four nights in Tokaj... 2 nights is not enough. We just have to go back.
Review 35:Easy to find and our room was ready, even if we showed up a little bit early. Location is outstanding, while on a side street, it's just around the corner from the main street. The hosts, Linda and Peter are just so welcoming and charming. Linda was very helpful and informative. She had to go to their winery, and invited us to tag along... we got to taste wine ready to bottle. Back at the guesthouse we enjoyed a thorough wine tasting of the white Tokay wines... great wines by the way. Breakfast was great and plentiful... an amazing value. This is the place to stay in Tokaj... we wish we had a few more nights there. We will stay there again without a doubt. Thank Linda and Peter!
Review 36:New rooms with excellent facilities. Warm welcome by the owners. Wine tasting of the Tokaj wines made by themselves. Very centrally located in the village.
Review 37:The hosts did everything they can to make my stay in Tokaj an excellent one. Wine tasting in their cellar and elsewhere, recommendations for places to eat, homemade bread and jams, as well as informing me about the zero tolerance. I would definitely go back.
Review 38:Linda and Peter speak english very well so can help reslove any local problem. Great hospitality, tasty brakfasts, and bar with wine from their own winery recorded unforgetable memories. Wonderful place.
Review 39:The rooms do not have their own bathrooms but are shared. While we were there this wasn't a problem as the weren't many guests there.
Review 40:The owner/host is friendly and welcoming. She made us an incredible breakfast and cared a lot about how our stay was going and making sure our needs were met.

Review 42:Position perfect. Room comfortable and bright. Front balcony lovely to sit at enjoying the surrounds. Owners friendly - speaking English was a bonus for us. Being able to garage rental bikes also much appreciated. Wine tasting is available on site. Spent 3 nights in Tokaj. A wonderful experience, thanks to the hospitality of Linda and husband. Will definately recommend to other travellers. Fantastic accommodation. :: Aussie couple.
Review 43:Very friendly and generous hosts, who offered home-made drinks and their own wine, guided us through their vineyards and refused to be paid for this. Rooms are simply furnished but quite comfortable. Breakfast is very good, with fresh and local products. Very centrally and conveniently located, only about 100m from the Rakoczi cellar.
Review 44:I liked everything and particularly our hosts. They made us feel at home and special. Don't miss the wine tasting in the cellar. Hope to get there again in the future.

Review 46:We stayed at Paulay Borhaz for two days and loved every minute of our visit. Peter and Linda are excellent hosts who makes you feel at home from the first minute. They are very friendly and helpful. The modern house is a reconstruction of the ancient family house made with great love and care. The rooms are very comfortable and are designed in a very good taste. The cellar offers a selection of delicious wines from the family winery. We spent two lovely evenings tasting wines in a cozy yard and lovely cool cellar. The breakfast was awesome! With a selection of local fruit, vegetables, cheese and ham, homemade jam and pastry, plus fresh grape juice! We will be definitely happy to be back next time in Tokay.
