Reviews for Innkeeper's Lodge Woking
Review 1:It was a bit tired and dirty in some corners of the restaurant, but location was great and beds were comfy.
Review 2:Location was great, beds were comfy and clean but carpet, paint, bathroom could all use some freshening. Pub food was good and reasonable.
Review 3:toilet would not flush properly. had excellent response when brought this to the attention of housekeeper
Review 4:very comfortable quiet room. very god food. excellent choice for breakfast
Review 5:Parking can become congested. There is a need to reverse in to aid an early getaway in mornings ....forward facing! Additional snacks available via machine but no receipts.
Review 6:Room size a welcome change and parking is a blessing!
Review 7:Wifi wasn't great, but good enough for simple web surfing. It was a little noisy in the room due to other guests and the main road.
Review 8:The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms was large and clean.
Review 9:slight draught under door and the heating wasn't turned on" however it soon warmed up when the radiators were turned up
Review 10:Staff very oblidging and helpful, nothing was too much effort
Review 11:The room was too hot due to hot water pipes (the radiator was not on) and the only way to be comfortable was to open the windows fully. Unfortunately we were at the front of the property on the busy main road, so it was then noisy!
Review 12:The staff very kindly arranged for me to get into a room early following an early flight. It was much appreciated.
Review 13:The inn keepers is easy to miss. Both my husband and I drove straight passed it and had to detour to find it again.
Review 14:Staff were very helpful in finding us a room for an early check in.
Review 15:A good budget hotel. Rooms are on the small side but a reasonably comfortable bed. Staff were cheerful and welcoming and the bar had a good atmosphere.
Review 16:Staff were all excellent - friendly and helpful. Good communication. It was useful to be able to eat in the premises at a slightly unusual time ( mid-afternoon) and the daytime menu was terrific value.
Review 17:What a surprise. For the money, we didn't expect much. How wrong were we. Very warmly welcomed, room was brilliant, quiet, large, very well heated, very comfortable and slept so well.
Review 18:It was a very basic room but served us well for 1 night , it was clean although the shower was a bit dodgy possible broken. breakfast was okay but not amazing.
Review 19:As a smoker felt the could of had a sitting down area at the entrance of lodge rather than have to go all the way round to front of pub
Review 20:Staff was very polite, room very clean Food excellent
Review 21:The continental breakfast consisted of toast with juice, and cereal. Can get a cooked breakfast but need to pay for it
Review 22:Room was decent size with on suite. Close to the town.
Review 23:Liked most things. The building is a little tricky to navigate, lots of doors, corridors etc but that is not a big problem at all.
Review 24:Food was very good and excellently priced. Pub is cosy and has a good atmosphere. Rooms are comfortable and clean.
Review 25:Let me check in an hour earlier. Friendly staff. Lovely continental breakfast. Ideal location, 5 minute walk from Woking train station and the canal too. It's the first place I look for when staying in Woking. Real Ale festival a bonus to my stay,
Review 26:The room was tired looking but perfectly acceptable and adequate for purpose. Toilet was slow flushing requiring at least two flushes each occasion.
Review 27:Friendly and helpfull staff Breakfast was generous and not fussy or awkward.
Review 28:When we first pulled up outside the building we thought it looked both tired and shabby. The walkway to the rooms also made us worry about what to expect. The building could do with a bit of a facelift..
Review 29:The staff were excellent as was the cleanliness of our room
Review 30:Three of us playing golf nearby. Had all we needed at a very competitive price. Staff helpful and very convenient location for Town centre without needing to drive.
Review 31:nothing
Review 32:We came for a 4 day break, the family room was excellent kept clean every day new towels and fantastic value for money, staff were all helpful Amy and Rosie a big thank you.Freè continental breakfast was brilliant.food in the wheat sheaf value for money,We will come again. The rooms were big and than you to the staff who kept the rooms so clean and beds made each day fantastic place to stay
Review 33:The bed was very firm , booked two rooms and couldn't have been further apart from each other
Review 34:Staff were friendly we had 2 rooms one was downstairs and very spacious. The other was on the top floor and with a cot in made it a little small.
Review 35:the lack of storage for clothes etc in bedroom and the distance which we had to walk; also the very poor standard of the food when we invited guests for an evening meal
Review 36:nothing really special
Review 37:The whole building was in need of a total refurbishment. It gave the impression of being grubby and unkempt.
Review 38:The service was good. The food was good. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom toilet and shower worked but were very noisy.
Review 39:Super soft bed, so no support, very warm room with no way of turning the heating down, very weak tepid shower.
Review 40:Middle of the road hotel attached to a pub. The room was clean and we had everything we needed. The staff were helpful which made the stay better.
Review 41:Staff were really friendly and accommodating due to me arriving very late in the evening. Room was perfect for me to rest my head local to my next day meeting. Would recommend staying here for work. I had the single room and for the cost, it was definitely value for money.
Review 42:We were a little disappointed with the breakfast as the pastries consisted of just two burnt croissants which were not cooked inside. However there was also toast and cereal.
Review 43:The reception and bar staff were excellent. The room was spacious and had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Good location within walking distance of railway station.
Review 44:All the paintwork inside ie doors, skirtings, was very grubby. Our room was a long way from nearest fire exit.
Review 45:Food was good value. We appreciated the fan in the room.
Review 46:The windows in bedroom that opened were to high for me to reach((5f 4) The bottom ones could not be opened, a problem as I like to sleep with lots of fresh air,
Review 47:We liked the friendliness of the Pub. Our food was nicely served but the fish was dry. We liked the parking facilities and position of the pub, not far from the town
Review 48:This was our third visit and we noticed a difference this year. The staff seemed much more capable and they must have a new chef. The menu for dinner was more extensive and the food was good. A refurbished bathroom too.
Review 49:The rooms could do with a bit of refurbishment but I was told that this is going to be done in the near future so thats great.
Review 50:The staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was really nice. Easy walk into city centre.
Review 51:The rooms are dated and I had to ask to be moved from the first room as it smell damp, the staff were very nice though
Review 52:The pub is nice and location is good
Review 53:The room I was allocated (201) was affected by a fire door that banged against my wall when it was opened and creaked as it closed. Hopefully they will have fixed it.
Review 54:Stayed there for 3 nights and found it OK. The room, whilst quite small, had been recently decorated and there were a large number of powerpoints. The Inn next door had acceptable beer and food.
Review 55:shower cold, was sorted by manager. Breakfast was a disappointment. Dry thin toast and dry unappetising scrambled eggs. Everything else ok.
Review 56:staff, and room
Review 57:Room was on ground floor and accessed from outside. Room was quite dark and was noisy from other guests and pub.
Review 58:Good location and reasonable value for money. Staff were welcoming.
Review 59:The Wi-Fi was little bit hit and miss, and the room I was in (310) was quite noisy as it seemed to right above the pub. The first night there was a pub quiz which I could hear quite clearly in my room. The second night there was some sort of party that kept me awake and by 1am I decided to leave the hotel and drive home. Sadly this ruined the whole stay.
Review 60:Very helpful, very friendly staff on arrival. The food in the pub side and at breakfast was excellent. I would recommend eating and drinking in the pub, however for the reasons in the "Didn't like" column I would not recommend the hotel.
Review 61:Noise from next door woke me up both nights. Don't go for a single - memories of Blackpool guest houses where a single room would be split by a partition wall down the middle of the window to create two singles! Long walk to room!
Review 62:Proper pub atmosphere with good food. Friendly young staff. Comfortable rooms
Review 63:Welcoming friendly staff. Excellent value food - best cooked steak for a long time! Clean comfortable bedrooms. Very good complementary continental breakfast. Overall excellent value.
Review 64:Couldn't work out the way to get hot water in shower but once shown it was fine.
Review 65:Location is great, staff are excellent. Helpful, cheerful and very pleasant!
Review 66:Only negative there was only a shower I like a bath.
Review 67:Everyone was friendly and helpful lovely central location good continental breakfast. Spacious and clean room comfortable bed. Free parking and free wifi
Review 68:Poor reception on checking in, e.g pnve payment had been secured no other assistantance was offered had to ask to be shown direction of room, was informed that it was through the white doors, which did not help as all the doors were painted white. Breakfast offered the day after checking in was extremely poor, ie spoilt fruit, warm juice in plastic containers, burnt pastry, and poor reception again.
Review 69:Very good standard of cleanliness in the room.
Review 70:Not the best hotel I have ever stayed at but everything is clean. Staff is friendly. One thing that stood out the most is an ability to get a free toothbrush or shaver if you have forgotten yours. Found it very convenient.
Review 71:The food (dinner) was truly awful. Starter: Fried battered mushrooms were frozen inside (starter re-done at my request!). Main: The toughest steak ever and I gave up eating it and left the restaurant. I was offered a free drink as compensation.
Review 72:Friendly staff. Good, easy and free parking. Clean (but small) room
Review 73:wi fi unpredictable in rooms, breakfast could do with addition of cold meats / cheese
Review 74:clean, comfortable, good pub food until late in the evening which means that you can get something even after a long journey. Pleasant staff
Review 75:The hotel receptionist insisted of charge on arrival even though they have got credit card details as security!! She even tried to say it is the same for other hotels, then change her saying to "can't represent other hotels but it is our hotel policy..." Never heard of that before!
Review 76:Staff is the best, including Dan, Amy, Alex, Matilda, Helen, etc. I could not find fault with anything or anybody. Whenever I visit Woking, this is where I stay.
Review 77:My single room (311) was located above Bar and to front of building beside road hence noisey.
Review 78:Friendly staff, adequate facilities and good location for my office in Woking
Review 79:I would have been good to have seen a proper 'continental' breakfast with chesses and cold meats and possibly croissants.
Review 80:My meal was delivered to my room for me, the staff were very polite and attentive but not overbearing.
Review 81:Hotel rooms are definitely not as nice as the photos depict, it is in need of updating, the rooms were depressing, with mouldy net curtains and nasty carpets. £80 is far too much money to be paying for this level of accommodation.
Review 82:The hot water wasn't working at all in my room.
Review 83:Polite staff, informative and helpful Location great, it's just a short walk and you are in the town centre
Review 84:when we arrived at the hotel, we were staying 2 nights, there was no heating in the room and no hot water, they said they would bring us a heater they said they had a problem with the boiler and someone was coming out to fix it, but they moved us to a different room, this had heating and warm/hot water on the 1st morning, on the 2nd morning there was no hot water in the whole hotel
Review 85:the bar food and service was nice
Review 86:no heating made stay little uncomfortable on the first day and evening boiler was fixed dureing our stay and every effort was made by providing electric heaters
Review 87:house keeper has finger on the button friendly staff very relaxed atmosphere comfortable and clean rooms
Review 88:poor breakfast continental breakfast poor instant coffee, toast and cereal ,not particularly continental ! merde! very hard bed and thin walls meant i could over hear an hour long conversation at two in the morning
Review 89:free parking saves ten pounds clean surroundings good shower
Review 90:no bath
Review 91:convenient,great attached to the wheatsheaf as it was very comfortable ,with good food and drinks, good to get back in have a hot shower and have somewhere comfortable to relax in rather than bedroom
Review 92:Poor insulation of the ceiling, squeaky floorboards in the room upstairs causing noise at night and early in the morning
Review 93:Convenient location (close to the train station)
Review 94:The prices of drinks in the bar were a little pricey. An alternative 'cooked' breakfast would be great.
Review 95:The rooms were clean and had a real comfy feel. The town was only a short walk away.
Review 96:There was no Earl Grey tea but that is just my preference! The shower curtain was too short to stop the water from leaking over the low rim of the shower. There was no hook to hang the room key on when you came in the door and locked it. It would be handy to have a hook right by the door so you don't lose it.
Review 97:I liked that hot showers were available when I wanted a hot shower at midnight. I liked the comfy cosy warm bed and the fact the heating was on all night so I was warm for the whole of my stay. The film selection was good on the TV.
Review 98:Breakfast would have been better if there was a cooked breakfast in with the price
Review 99:Everything was lovely .would have liked rooms closer together with other family members staying there with us
Review 100:Just a little bit pricey for what you get.
Review 101:The room was pretty good and sits on top of a pub which is a big thumbs up for me. Short walk into town centre.
Review 102:Too hot the rooms and too small and was expensive for the size of the room would stop there again but would ave to be £40 a double room and not £80 .
Review 103:Beds very comfy and close to the town
Review 104:Soundproofing is not too good. The bathroom fans go on for quite a while
Review 105:The pub and restaurant are both good value. The rooms (I stayed in 101) are great. Short walk into the town centre
Review 106:My room was unfortunately an very unluckily next to possibly the loudest snorer on the planet, which kept me awake most of the night. If you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. I am normally a heavy sleeper and yet headphones and moving the bed did not help. I genuinely think I was unlucky though as I didn't feel the walls weren't particularly thin for a hotel.
Review 107:Staff were friendly and helpful, for the small price it exceeded my expectations in cleanliness and facilities. I walked from the station using the map and it was very quick an easy. I would use this stop again
Review 108:Uncomfortable bed. Limited breakfast could have had more variety seeing as it was only continental on offer
Review 109:Good food (evening meal), pleasant staff, very clean.
Review 110:I am a regular guess at the wheatsheaf but, found the mattresses in room 307 very uncomfortable.... The springs stuck into your back, so sleep was poor. Also I don't understand why the same room prices vary throughout the week... £80 one night then £85 the next. Myself and my son stay regular and eat and drink on the evening. I feel that it's now becoming too expensive, and there is no insentive from your selfs to keep us staying there
Review 111:The staff was not very friendly soon as you walked in no one to great you took your money for the room straight away and the breakfast was poor not English breakfast you had to pay for it 4 to 6 pounds should the told when you book your room
Review 112:It was a nice hotel. good location .easy to find. room was nice .bar was nice
Review 113:Toilet flush not good and foam pillows.
Review 114:Excellent price, clean spacious rooms, comfortable bed, good tv, ample quality tea/coffee facilities, extra blanket and pillows although rooms were nice and warm. The bathroom was spotless and the shower powerful, hot and with plenty of towels. Restaurant and pub on site and very reasonable. Breakfast was plentiful.
Review 115:We've stayed in innkeepers lodges many times so we're very familiar with the brand. But this site felt like it was run by uninterested kids in trainers! No personality, no interest, not even a good morning! The room was fine, the car park is a bit of a nightmare but nothing to complain about! The pub needs some tlc but I understand how businesses cut maintenance budgets when times are hard! But it was the staff! I said morning to two people and was ignored, no one talked to us at breakfast, no one checked us out.....it may as well have been a self service experience!!
Review 116:Room was fine! Clean, plenty of room, no problems.
Review 117:food in Pub is cheap and not great quality, wifi is from O2, one has to sign up for it with an english mobile phone which some people (e.g. foreigners) may not have, some sites are restricted which I find not acceptable
Review 118:rooms are clean and reasonably sized, staff were very helpful and friendly!
Review 119:Excelent food friendlystaff a pub down stairs for grown ups and families separate entrance to hotel and a park across the road and only a 5 min walk to town
Review 120:The food
Review 121:everything is ok but, the food is poor really... Not enough on the plate for the price. It doesn't help when you have a very young chef who walks around and looks like he has no interest. As a pub it's great, great lighting etc.... But the food has to better value
Review 122:Internet is via 02 for which you ahve to sign up with a mobile number which foreigners might not always have, some websites are restricted and you have to deal with whatever 02 deems appropriate for you to view, food in pub cheap and low quality, breakfast very basic
Review 123:good location close to Woking town centre and train station, rooms big enough and clean, compettitively priced, quiet
Review 124:The breakfast was rubbish. the last time I was presented with this kind of industrial carbohydrate was in Toronto 10 years ago. Cotton wool bread, sugar soaked muffins, cardboard croissants and dead sawdust instant coffee is not breakfast - it is a statement of 'I don't care about the client. The whole operation was clearly run by teenagers who thought that operating a business was a bit of a hoot. The kitchen was dis-organised, they had run out of the most basic ingredients; couldn't produce a salad because there were no tomatoes, cucumber or lettuce. However, my compliments to the chef who managed to produce the most perfectly cooked rare entrecote steak.
Review 125:Close to the town centre
Review 126:Staff not really knowing what they where doing food just ok service not very good Person on breakfast in the morning really needs to smile or speak or maybe get a new job
Review 127:The rooms very very good
Review 128:With the fairground in full swing over the road when we arrived, parking was very difficult and there didn't seem to be enough spaces for guests. I know you can't stop the fair being there, but it might be an idea to maybe let guests know in advance so they are prepared for it!
Review 129:We'd had a long day at a wedding and a bit of trouble finding you as we didn't know the area. When we arrived after 9pm the staff were very friendly and helpful, despite a busy night in the pub. We were shown to our room and later when I ordered some food at the bar, they offered to bring it up, which meant so much when we had our hands full with a small baby. Room was lovely and bed HUGE and very comfy!
Review 130:Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, there was a water problem while we were there but we were kept up to speed with all the neccesaary info.Breakfast was arranged early for us as my daughter was on a course and needed to be there early.
Review 131:I really can`t tell any wrong!!
Review 132:Fantastic cleanness all around, friendly helpful staff, home feeling. Free wifi in the rooms and free car park as well. Good food in the inn for a reasonable price.
Review 133:Bed a bit too firm for me and some of the pillows rather lumpy but not so bad as to spoil the stay.
Review 134:Good position, parking and basic breakfast included in the price. Other food was first class and staff very helpful.
