Reviews for Mitsis Blue Domes Exclusive Resort & Spa
Review 1:wifi in the room was non existent... booking restaurants was very difficult. probably should work out an allocation based on how long you are staying.
Review 2:staff, especially Inna on customer service desk. she was so helpful. made my holiday very stressfree...
Review 3:Limited Options of drinks no milkshakes for kids most most important no lifeguards at poolside Biggest let down salt in pool very hard on eyes even if you wear goggles
Review 4:The all inclusive availability of food and drink
Review 5:The music in lounge area in the evenings could be more neutral and relaxing, the main restaurant area in the evening could look a little be more different (candles on the tabel, different lightening would be very helpful), the theater needs much better performances, in the room needs cotton-wool, ear buds for ears cleaning and table-napkins.
Review 6:The staff was very very good, friendly and helpfull! I would like to mentioned one therapist Maria from the spa place, she was excellent and one man, I'm pretty sure he was manager, very tall, shame on me I can't remember the name (he travels a lot, loves bikes, going to far east later on this year...), he's from the main restaurant, he always is in a good mood and always making sure that everybody is ok! Very very good! Thank You guys! Well done! The food was perfect, plenty of different choices.
Review 7:Wifi costs €30 for five days, and does not give the advertised speed. We were told in advance we had a sea view in a quiet part of the hotel but this was not the case. We asked for a bottle opener so that we could use our mini bar and it took 36hrs and three requests. Noise from terrible Abba tribute act in the bar was unbearable in our room on the first night. Themed restaurants require advanced bookings and are difficult to get. Facilities are free but require big cash deposits, which can be difficult as there is no ATM in the area (e.g. towels €20 per person, tennis rackets €25 euro each). It is not possible to pay these by card or add them to the room bill, which is ridiculous and frustrating.
Review 8:Staff were friendly and helpful, right on the beautiful clear sea, clean room with lovely bathroom,
Review 9:The beach was shingle. Entertainment at night. Poor drinks.
Review 10:Excellent restaurants, staff very attentive without being pushy. Rooms luxurious. Cleanliness exceptional. Very relaxing holiday.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:Arrival at 0.30 AM.extremly helpful and friendly staff.we Could book allready for the next two days the Special restaurants.in one week we Managed to eat in all 4 Restaurants. at all places the staff was helpful and friendly, even the Hotel was fully booked. Enough space and sunbeds at the waterfront.
Review 13:The walks to the dining room with a baby were not very comfortable. It's either up the hill or with a lot of steps which was not convenient with a stroller. No WiFi in the room.
Review 14:The hotel is very beautiful and well maintained. The hotel looks like a village with different areas so you never feel there are many people. The rooms are very nice and the bathroom has a good size with both a bathtub and a shower. The staff is very nice and helpful. The a la carte restaurants are very good.
Review 15:The internet charges, was not explained to us properly. In fact we weremiss led and pay double price : 40 euro.Beacuse of it. -When you buyinternet miniuts it is only for 2 devices, and we did not know that..
Review 16:Variety of resturant. Clean of the resort. Many pools.
Review 17:Only if the outdoor pools were not salty. We used indoor pool which wasgreat, but they charge you 10 euros pp for 40 mins!
Review 18:We had a great sea view, The beach was great & all inclusive offeris superb. We'd like to thank one of reception staff (Anna Maria)who helped us change our room, and made our two week holiday a reallygreat one.
Review 19:Amazingly, although this is a huge resort, you can't feel the amount of people around you. The plan of the resort is wonderful. They managed to wisely scatter the pools, restaurants and other public areas. It was peaceful and most welcoming!
Review 20:Free wifi was only available in one specific room and was very slow. There was the option to purchase wifi that could be used across the entire complex, however we believe that this should have been included as standard. There are four themed restaurants available (Italian, Greek, Mexican and Asian). Lunches and dinners for these restaurants had to be booked (using an online terminal located next to the main dining hall). The booking system was very poor and allowed us to get through the entire process to only then inform us that there was no space available. Try as we might (and we did everyday) we were unable to get a slot for the Asian restaurant.
Review 21:First time staying all inclusive and suitably impressed. The location is fabulous, great sea view from the room which was superbly clean and suitable. The range and quality of the food was excellent and we were not bored by the choice available. The weather was amazing and the beach facilities were very good. There is an option to do a number of watersports at an additional cost ( jet ski, wind surfing, parascending), these are located on the beach of the hotel and lessons are also available (the staff of the watersports are very friendly and helpful and the lessons were excellent)
Review 22:NOTHING
Review 23:The resort is magnificent, the view is breathtaking, the crew is extremely friendly and helpful. Even with full occupancy and a lot of families, the place is quiet and peaceful due to a great planning of the public areas. Highly recommended!
Review 24:The staff hardly speak any English, so it is quite hard to communicate. The food in general is only eatable level. There is very strange rule that you can't order from next door resteraunt if you are not sitting there!
Review 25:The beach is nice! The swimming pools are nice! I am travelling with my 8 years old, it is perfect for him to run around and relax, and I don't need to worry about!
Review 26:Lack of Attention to detail and cleanliness in room.
Review 27:Great food, space and salt water pools. Very elegant design and layout. I would have liked to experience some Greek culture. Some Greek themed nights would be very welcomed. A seafood restaurant would be nice too. And some sails for shade in the the kids area and main walk way to beach.
Review 28:The resort is huge and so there's a bit of walking and lots of steps which would be a negative for those who are unfit/frail but didn't bother me... It's good exercise after all the food! Wifi didn't work for us but seemed to be working for plenty people around us. Contrary to what is stated on one of the tour operators' websites, irons are not available... Only laundry service which is chargeable. And as other people have said, our room type was overbooked so we spent the first night in the sister hotel, Norida Beach. Bit annoyed about this, but our room was upgraded as compensation and the guest relations girl was happy to throw spa and car hire discounts, free late checkout and free room service etc at us as well. We were annoyed to be displaced the first night but I feel they made up for it as best they could. Fixing this overbooking problem would make the place near perfect.
Review 29:The Blue Domes is a beautiful resort. The grounds and rooms are stunning and all very well kept. The food is great and very varied. 4 'proper' a la carte restaurants to choose from - Mexican, Asian, Greek and Italian. You have to book these and it can be a bit of a pain trying to get a seat but nice to have a change from the buffet set up. There are also six other little restaurants which we used at lunch times, between them all serving pittas, burgers, German food (sausages, schnitzels etc), sushi, desserts, crepes, ice cream... Buffet restaurant is good as well with lots to choose from. Pizzas in there are fab. Staff are very helpful on the most part (just one lady who really annoyed me!). The whole report is very much all inclusive - the only things we put our hand in our pocket for were newspapers, souvenirs and a bar of chocolate!
Review 30:Here i will mention what i didn't like: - fitness room with two equipments 10sq.m for 10eur for one time; - internet very slow and only in the morning, afternoon or after midnight. Free internet just at lobby bar; - some of staff at reception shouldn't work there, they need to have some training. Speaking like robots, but not solving the problems; - problems with towels (available towels just to 11a.m. it's written that to 12 a.m.); - bar manager Mr. Tasos not qualified at all, should change; - beach volleyball should be with soft sand, because you can play only with shoes.
Review 31:I will mention what was good: - location - super; - food (sushi, pastry, asian, italian restaurants) - super; - sea - clean, nice; - rooms clean/wide/comfort; - tennis court - good; - pools - good; - free mini bar - super.
Review 32:On arrival we were told our reservation had not gone through due to a fault with my card (this later turned out to be an outright lie) transpires it was due to over-booking. We were transferred for the night, as well as being given all-inclusive wristbands and a late check-out. This seemed fair albeit slightly irritating due to the fact we were island hopping and so only staying for three nights. However - this turned out to the beginning of many issues. They paid for our taxi transfer to the other hotel - unfortunately they sent us to the wrong hotel. This hotel then kindly organised taxis to the correct hotel (Portobello Royal). On arrival they were extremely helpful and gave us an amazing beach view bungalow - we were finally in a room at 1am after arriving at 9! The next morning we got ready to be back at Mitsis for 12 as we were told our room would be ready at the latest for that time. Arrived at Mitsis - after explaining the situation, we were told bluntly by a receptionist that our room would not be ready until 2. When we complained about waiting nearly 24 hours for a room, she rudely stated check out was only at 12 so how could we possibly be in our room for 12. We waited for our room as by this point we were exhausted to submission. Finally shown to our room - apparently we were upgraded so I dread to think what the original was. Mould in the bathroom, marks on the walls and an ant problem. We were also met by a cockroach on our final night scuttling under the bed. We left the next day (called for a buggy which never arrived so had to lug suitcases up a huge hill) and having previously complained several times to no avail, escaped as fast as possible. We were unsurprisingly not asked to give feedback during check out. Other issues with the hotel include: regular off- putting smells in downstairs bar lobby, lack of sun loungers, unfriendly staff, AWFUL food in the buffet, dirty public bathrooms. It was such a disappointing stay.
Review 33:Very little - variety of swimming pools, good after-hours patisserie and relaxing late night drinks by the pool - great waterspouts facilities
Review 34:- The declivity, not for us but for young children... A lift between the bottom of the main restaurant building and the restaurant itself would be great - Due to point one, I would not advise the hotel to handicapped people - Sometimes difficult to get some tranport for luggages or get water in the room, etc.. because the employees using the golfcab cars are overloaded
Review 35:- The food - The infrastructure - The children area with the specific pool (the merry-go-round for free...) - The mini-disco for the children - The employees - Once you have paid, everything is really for free and really unlimited....
Review 36:More sunbeds needed around pools. More tables in the four restaurants that you had to book as it was difficult to book a table.
Review 37:Very clean High quality food Lots of pools so never felt crowded in them
Review 38:Way too few Sunbeds. Staying at the children's pool is not recommended - Absolutely no shade anywhere. Staff at the reception think they work at Mac Donalds. We've stayed twice at Mitsis Norida Beach and they are by far more professional.
Review 39:The resort and location are beautiful. The restaurants, lunch and dinner, are also very good. Staff in restaurants, bars and cleaning are very friendly.
Review 40:Not enough sunbeds by the pool, they claim to have a diving centre next to the watersport centre but it's not there anymore (this should be changed urgently in the description), the live music in the night bar is nice but it's the same songs every night.
Review 41:Great food with lots of variety, very nice staff, seperate play area for kids, beautiful design, many swimming pools, beautiful night bar.
Review 42:When we checked in, the the stated that they over booked and sent us to spent the first night in another hotel of their chain. This was hell and just for this I will not return to this hotel. After spending a night in a tiny smelly room, they upgraded us to a nice room for the rest of the stay (3 more nights), but still the first night left us very biter
Review 43:The pools are great and the beach is beautiful. You need to be aware that the pools are salt water. Not everyone will like it. The food is ok and the ice cream treats is fantastic not just for the children
Review 44:The staff need more customer service training, some reflected how unhappy they are with their jobs, due to the fact that I am of Greek heritage I could hear them complaining about their situations. The vast majority of staff need some form of training there. The bell boys are hopeless also, they run on "greek time" which is when they get to it! I witnessed an argument at Guest Relations were a couple booked and paid for a holiday and when they arrived they were told there is no accomodation for them and to try another hotel. This is simply unacceptable behaviour if you claim to be a five star resort, all assistance should have been provided to the couple rather than advise them to speak with the booking agency. The resort itself is spectacular the rooms are fantastic and clean.
Review 45:I definetely like the kitchen: so different and delicious! We enjoyed water sports, chilling wih the families of different netionalities. We liked the sea a lot: it wasn't too warm, but a little bit cold, excactly what we wanted. The staff was very friendly and polite. Thank you!
Review 46:Fantastic resort with beautiful surroundings, clean and spacious rooms and amazing swimming pools and beach! Will definitely visit again!
Review 47:the hotel is beautiful, perfectly designed, the staff was so nice and really just perfect. the kids pool and activities were great too.
Review 48:This hotel GM and front office manager need to get some service training to their front office team,I read so much complaint about your front office team and when I arrive, they were so rude and none of them was smile or welcome, everytime when I make inquiry they were so rude and do not want to help me,please listen customers and do something about them.
Review 49:5star facillity for low price,Good restaurant and good service waiters, mainly greek restaurant is excellent, mexican, italian was everage and asian was terrible,we order noodle and they serve instant noodle,I think local asian take away shops are better than them and buffet is terribel too, they have blender for fresh juice rather than juicer.
Review 50:Lack of personnel to support pool bar and creperie.
Review 51:Close to airport, close to Kardamia for a nice bike ride or run. No noise in swimming pools nor in bedroom, despite it is a family hotel.
Review 52:Too many steps to get to the main restaurant. But you can call a club car(the bell boy). We did. On more than one occasion.
Review 53:This was my first time at an all inclusive and did not know what to expect. The location was beautiful. There was a good choice of food. Never boring. The pools are absolutely beautiful. Although it is a huge resort, it never felt cramped. The beach is spotless. Although very stoney. But, beautiful non the less. The entertainment every night was always different. And the entertainment team try really hard to make you enjoy yourself.
Review 54:This is definately not 5 star PLUS hotel. I would say this is 3 star with all inclusive only. Hotel is really too crowdy, be ready for the queues when you go on breakfast or any other time you go into main restuarant. Also be ready to remind the personal the things they should do without reminders. All sunbeds were reserved all the time even if they empty, also you must be ready that guard can come to you and say something like 'these 10 sunbeds reserved for the VIPs (Boss family or something like that) sorry this is only my job'.. Pfff 5+ star service uh? Who told them that?
Review 55:Personal was nice and friendly, Asian restuarant was awesome and all others were good, so you will not have any problem with food there.
Review 56:Very small criticism. The beach towel system could be improved slightly. You go all the way to the 'Towel Station' only to find you haveto go all the way back up to the reception to purchase a towel token for20 Euros (refundable), then all the way back to find the towel man hasgone for a break. It's a small but improvable criticism.
Review 57:Fabulously clean and luxurious resort. A little distance from Kardamainatown, but everything you need right there. Food was amazing and with ahuge variety. Pools everywhere. Spotlessly clean. Big luxurious roomswith wet rooms as well as baths. So may staff; you never cannot findsomeone if you need to.
Review 58:having room key de-activated due to a mixup over room payment
Review 59:overall quality of accomodation, food and entertainment
Review 60:Staff can be a little rude in the smaller restaurants at times.
Review 61:Very nice hotel with very modern facilities . Greg food and lots of swimming pools.
Review 62:Very poor internet connection for the extra cost. The free internet connection is almost impossible to use.
Review 63:Comfort
Review 64:The service from the staff was diabolical
Review 65:The beds were very comfortable
The Fine Print
