Reviews for Langshott Manor - A Small Luxury Hotel
Review 1:There were building works going on outside our window (but not too disturbing)
Review 2:The room was luxurious, the staff put out special chocolates because it was our honeymoon. All service was very helpful.
Review 3:Thought restaurant was expensive and might put people off staying again.
Review 4:Fantastically convenient location if flying from Gatwick. Beautiful old building. Smiling helpful staff. Excellent food. Lovely room which was not in the main house and was very quiet. Facility to park car whilst on holiday very helpful indeed. Loved everything about it and intend to return soon.
Review 5:Restaurant had no atmosphere and the prices were incredibly high. The bed in the room was small and the area around the sunken bath was slippy after a shower.
Review 6:Very convenient for an early flight from Gatwick and the building is attractive and interesting
Review 7:not a bad experience but pub up the road much better value for dinner
Review 8:We stayed in the Epsom room - expensive, but so very beautiful. Superb decor and soft furnishings
Review 9:Lovely room, peace and quiet and friendly staff. A perfect respite after a long haul trip to Gatwick. We also enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant. Will definitely recommend and be back.
Review 10:It is very expensive for the below average accommodation and very poor level of service, it seems that the staff are doing their best with what appears to be a complete lack of any management or control.
Review 11:The hotel is a truly lovely period building with lots of charm and character, and the staff do their best.
Review 12:Manor is in the middle of no where so not easy to get to with public transport. Small (low ceiling) slightly damp room, not a major problem.
Review 13:Beautiful old manor appropriately decorated. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was great.
Review 14:There was an exterior light that shined in our room at night. We asked that it be turned off and they could not.
Review 15:We've stayed here several times in the past and think it is so charming. Great restaurant and garden!
Review 16:Top place to stay before a trip away. You can leave your car here and taxi in which I will do next time rather than run the gauntlet of the meet and greet. Old mansion with period features. Stayed in a quiet annexe which was great. Gardens are good to walk out and relax in too
Review 17:Being charged service to bring me a glass of wine whilst standing in reception because you didn't have a bar.
Review 18:Beautiful surroundings, smart and clean, it was quiet, staff were lovely. No complaints
Review 19:Absolutely fantastic hotel, very private and beautiful location. Food is first class and staff very pleasant and friendly, definitely stay again soon.
Review 20:Very poor sound insulation between rooms! Rooms lacked storage space - aside from small hanging wardrobe there was no shelving storage for clothes. Sunday breakfast service was very slow and erratic - could do with more staff! Front desk staff could be better informed re local area
Review 21:Charming architecture and gardens, clean rooms with new fittings
Review 22:poor meal, but to be fair it was late Sunday night and we were not charged for our food. Normally a wonderful restaurant.
Review 23:fabulous location in an historic and beautiful main house with sympathetic additions.
Review 24:We contacted the hotel prior to our stay to let them know we would be arriving late in the evening and required a cot for our baby. Upon arrival we discovered there was no cot and even with two members of staff they could not assemble the cot when finally brought to the room.
Review 25:A very pretty setting. Room was clean.
Review 26:Waited in lounge for a long time to order drinks and food, had to go and find someone to take our order, this happened on two occasions during a brief one night stay. Our room was away from the main house, the room was pleasant but impractical, no plug socket near a mirror, kettle had to be plugged in sitting on the floor.
Review 27:Manor house and gardens were lovely.
Review 28:The lounge menu was pretty much the same as last year, we felt the waiter was very condescending. The main restaurant has a dress code so we could not dine in there, but we noticed there was other guests entering with jeans on. I would have ordered from the main menu given the chance and of course that would have meant we would have spent more money which we where happy to do..
Review 29:The reception staff was lovely, and very helpful
Review 30:As my other half is very tall we opt for larger beds, in this case the bed was two pushed together, this isn't normally a problem but in this case there was a slight height difference between the beds which kept waking me up. Also, although the food is delicious, it's a little pricey.
Review 31:Stunning hotel set in a beautiful location, very friendly and helpful staff, the room was very clean and nicely decorated. We had dinner in the restaurant, it was fine dining and the food was delicious, as was breakfast the following morning.
Review 32:There is nothing I didn't like but some of the public rooms are looking a little tired.
Review 33:I stay from time to time and always find the staff are welcoming and rooms comfortable and it very convenient for visiting friends. I enjoy walking around the lovely gardens.
Review 34:Waiting in the garden for service had to get up and find someone not a good start but after complaining was attended to well.
Review 35:The general atmosphere and decor of the building
Review 36:Breakfast was disappointing- paltry selection of pastries- croissant was tough and leathery, custard pastry inedible, one fried egg had uncooked egg white, thinnest half moon slice of black pudding imaginable, no beans or hash browns. French toast with maple syrup had normal thick bacon rather than the thin streaky bacon you might expect. Our bedroom window gave onto garden seating area - blind was slightly transparent and didnt feel comfortable being in there with the light on after dark. No minibar. Very hot in the room but we were provided with a fan, again nothing too much trouble, staff were fantastic.
Review 37:Highly professional and courteous staff, nothing too much trouble, fabulous fine dining experience and delicious cocktails, serene grounds and cosy snug for a nightcap, most comfortable hotel bed we have ever slept in. Perfect for a weekend getaway with your significant other. Forty minutes by car from Hampton Court Palace which was our Plan for Sunday. Captivated by the ducks in the duck pond and by the charm of the whole place. Personalised welcome letter a nice touch. We will definitely be back.
Review 38:Absolutely stunning setting, and property. Staff are polite and welcoming! We had a luxury room, which was perfect, comfortable, spacious, everything you need! Wish we stayed longer
Review 39:I found the beds uncomfortable - the first night i slept on a very uncomfortable sofa bed and the second night in an actual double bed was also uncomfortable - not what I would expect for such an expensive hotel. The ceilings are also very low - my boyfriend had to crouch in the shower!
Review 40:The gardens were beautiful and the breakfast delicious (albeit very expensive)
Review 41:coulnt fault it what a smashing place stayed on our wedding night 28years ago! What a treat to return Once again.a lot had changed but all in keeping with the excellent old lodge Setting! We will return thank you, for a very special stay.
Review 42:That I wasn't staying a few more nights!
Review 43:Fantastic restaurant, I would recommend strongly. The atmosphere created by the quaint building and the friendly but very professional staff made for a very pleasant stay.
Review 44:Hotel, location, staff and food all excellent. Only let down was the access down an unmade road with enormous potholes which ended up causing damage to my car
Review 45:Room service coffee came fairly cool as I assume they carried it across the garden and it was not in a carafe. The Decor in the restaurant was bland, and a very cold draft Came in every time the kitchen doors were opened, which was frequently.
Review 46:We loved the Anne Boleyn room which had a fireplace and pond view. The room was decorated beautifully and to a very high standard.
Review 47:I found the sandwich very expensive for what I got. In places the decoration looked a little tired.
Review 48:It was friendly, comfortable and offered good service. I enjoyed my room and will come again
Review 49:excellent attentive service. it felt like home from home. perfect location for gatwick airport if you want to stay away from the airport grounds. coral
Review 50:We didn't want to leave .. Unfortunately when ordering room service we found it very expensive and not value for money . The food was cold and had to pay a service charge and a charge of £5.00 on top of that which came to £48 for two main meals which was tasteless and disappointing i wouldn't recommed this service.
Review 51:We thought our room was very clean wonderfully decorated and cossy. The staff where extremely helpful and polite . With beautiful surroundings we defiantly will be coming back again.
Review 52:There is no sound insulation and I was kept awake all night by the sounds of the night staff setting up for a function in the room above me. Bare floorboards, the scrape of furniture being moved and stomping feet till 1am. Awful. Also there is virtually no mobile phone reception (Vodafone) in the main building.
Review 53:The courtyard rooms are lovely
Review 54:Only one problem with our shower, was a bit weak re the power .... Minute really, I can put up with that, so I'd happily stay again
Review 55:Although we stayed on a wet day in October, we had a walk around the grounds the next day after check out, absolutely stunning with lots of nooks & crannies , well I mean very spacious for all your guests for a summer wedding , as you walk around the gardens , you get a wow after every turn , loved it
Review 56:The room rate was about right for the quality of room we stayed in (there was an offer on at the time). We thought the bar prices and wine list a little on the steep side!
Review 57:We stayed at Langshott Manor en route to Gatwick. Chosen in preference to an airport hotel. We had an enjoyable and comfortable night. The staff we very friendly and welcoming. The gardens and grounds were well kept with the added touch of being entertained by ducks having a diving competition in the pond outside the breakfast room window.
Review 58:My room was perfect, the bathroom was very elegant but it was spoilt by the cheap plastic shower curtain that was not in keeping with the rest of the shower.
Review 59:The venue was beautiful and perfect for my daughter's wedding. The rooms were stylish and very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Their cheerful and excellent service helped to make the wedding day very special and memorable. Thank you.
Review 60:Can't think of anything!
Review 61:Beautiful room, amazing dinner & the take away breakfast for our early morning flight was a brilliant idea. We wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 62:WiFi could of been better. Rip Off Britain bar prices!
Review 63:The fantastic building, gardens and relatively close promity to Gatwick Airport. A very comfortable room with a great lake view, for once I didn't feel like I was in a hotel! Staff were efficient, professional and friendly.
Review 64:Check in for 1 night starts from 4 (Although they did arrange a room for us by 12:45) Service poor in that staff not looking to tend to guests unless flagged of their presence by front of house Bath - excellent, show stow too loose to fix shower head in place, some of the finish on mastic grouting on the turn Cost possibly a bit over given what you physically receive (food/bar etc)
Review 65:Exterior is tremendous Grounds beautiful/picturesque Bed was unbelievably comfortable Staff willing and helpful when engaged
Review 66:The bathroom being upstairs!
Review 67:Surprisingly peaceful and serene considering the distance from Gatwick . Cooked breakfast excellent. Staff attentive and well trained. The ducks were talkative!
Review 68:We only stayed one night in between packing the house and moving the next day - we arrived utterly shattered after a hard day packing the house up and staff were very attentive - both dinner and breakfast were superb and definitely worth coming back for - though perhaps without the house move next time! Thanks to the team for a lovely and relaxing night!
Review 69:Maybe air con in the room - but it's rarely so hot that this would be an issue, so not something I would be likely to notice on a regular visit.
Review 70:Gorgeous grounds - there for a wedding and it was perfect!, wonderful and friendly service from all of the staff, great food, spacious and unique rooms with fantastic attention to detail, hidden nooks and crannies everywhere, duck pond...couldn't ask for more.
Review 71:Unfortunately by following the directions of our sat nav we had to drive along a very pot-holed road to find the hotel. In the end the only way we found it was by asking someone. When we were taken by taxi to the airport the next day we realised we had approached the hotel from the wrong end of the road! "Mr Sat Nav" somehow got it wrong on this occasion!
Review 72:Beautiful building and gardens. Our room in an annexe was well furnished and clean. The staff at reception were helpful and pleasant. It was convenient to be able to leave our car in the car park while we were away and taxi ride to Gatwick north terminal is short and therefore cheap.
Review 73:Would have been nice if the had a bar area to sit and unwind in.
Review 74:Great relaxing over night stay. The staff were very attentive and polite. Food was excellent, especially the afternoon tea!!
Review 75:Beautiful, comfortable, spacious
