Reviews for Hotel Marko Polo
Review 1:No sauna available ... Steam room not hot or steamy, bubble bath cold. Visited in October ... Everything seemed to be closing Down or closed ... Need to provide all in brochure as advertised on Internet
Review 2:Room, location and food
Review 3:Some of the decor was a bit past its best. Lack of information about hotel facilities eg they do evening meals but didn't tell us or provide info on menu/price.
Review 4:Good location, easy walk to Korcula town. Good buffet breakfast. Good size indoor pool. Parking close by.
Review 5:Not much. Maybe expensive drinks and food There should be some playing area for children and mini club..
Review 6:Staff is great Food View from the pool Wi-fi Parking Nice room
Review 7:Nothing
Review 8:I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel based on some of the negative reviews it's received on this site. It is about 10 minute walk from the old town and where the boat docks, staff were all very pleasant, breakfast was great every morning it's a buffet where you pick what you like I can't comment on other food as we didn't eat there other than breakfast. Our room and bathroom were good size with a really comfy bed and there is free wifi throughout the property. I would highly recommend for a stay in Korcula and will be back!
Review 9:The staff - although quite professional - generally speaking, seemed inert, hard on smiles, and as if overtired and overstuffed with work, dragging their feet and lacking energy. Bed-linen in my room hadn't been changed for the entire stay (which lasted 10 days) which seems too long a period. My bathroom could use a renovation (at least where the bath-tab is). Pool has working hours (8AM- 7PM), but I very much wanted to use it both earlier in the morning and after 7PM! Fitness and wellness services are charged separately!
Review 10:Good breakfast with great variety of food (non-gluten diet included, which is a great plus!), nice, clean pool, excellent WI-FI signal in the room, great service at the pool bar (the only employee who was friendly, smiling, swift in orders ... - in my experience, she is their employee of the season!), helpful staff. All in all, descent hotel, but management must work harder on its improvement.
Review 11:no parking spaces, had to walk 200-400m to the car, slow drinks-service at the dinner(sometimes only 1 waiter for orders)
Review 12:good breakfast and good dinner large, beautiful and very clean room very close to the city
Review 13:-The room is really out dated, the property could use a make over. -Very, very, very over priced for what you get.
Review 14:-The location from the old town was great. -Easy access to the beach.
Review 15:On booking it was noted that the hotel has a private parking, while actually it shared one with the other residences. Due to crowdedness, there was no space for our car while we specifically requested this. Consequently we received two fines from the local police for parking alongside the street.
Review 16:If you like Korcula this is the location to stay!
Review 17:I don't know :)
Review 18:This is extraordinary Hotel with all necessary facilities for everyone, not only for family with kids. Excellent food (Mediterranean and continental), external pools and especially fantastic Junior suite with balcony on sea side (with amazing view of the Old city of Korcula and St. Marko cathedral), of course, served by exceptional nice and professional staff. City of Korcula is indescribable - You have to come and try :) (I don't have any hidden interest of writing review like this, we had really excellent vacation and we will come again !!!) Eduard, Zagreb, Croatia
Review 19:No WIFI signal in the room. Low quality of breakfast and dinner for 4 stars hotel. Extra charge for fitness room. Beach towels included in service, but most of the time towels were not available (first time the excuse was weekend (?!?), second time problems in laundry service, etc...). Out of 7 days, only 2 days towels were available.
Review 20:Excellent location, excellent cleaning lady, very kind young lady on reception.
Review 21:Had some problems during the stay with the A/C which never gave much cooling, but we had a fair compensation on the final bill. Be aware that the most nearby beach belongs to another hotel - and you are not allowed to use the sun beds.
Review 22:Nice hotel. Take a room view seaview it's worth the extra money. Big pool area good for an afternoon break.
Review 23:Our room had fabulous views of the sea. The pool area was outstanding. The staff are so friendly and accomodating. Our family had a great experience at Marko Polo.
Review 24:No tea/coffe making facilities available in bedrooms. Bar shuts at 10pm no room service after that. Did not get clean sheets until the day before we left 9 days
Review 25:The staff where allways very helpful and friendly. Hotel location was good.
Review 26:The gym is at extra cost.
Review 27:The hotel is well located, a short pleasant walk into town. The pool is great, wifi is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and had a sea view.
Review 28:Only negative is wifi didn't work in either of our rooms.
Review 29:Location - easy walk in to old town and quiet for sleep. Great pool area. Lovely breakfast. Very helpful reception staff.
Review 30:Parking the car is very problematic. There are only 3 spaces at the Hotel entrance, we had to fight for a space the narrow streets nearby.
Review 31:Excellent Hotel near the old town with beautiul views. Super breakfast.
Review 32:Great location, staff were helpful and friendly, nice clean room with magnificient sea view, great breakfast and dinner.Amazing pool with breathtaking view.
Review 33:Hotel centrally located, great service, professional staff, nice pool overlooking the sea.Clean and comfortable rooms, breakfast and dinner with a great variety and fresh ingredients, all in all high quality. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 34:The hotel is tailored to senior travelers in tour buses. It's not bad, just wasn't what I was looking for from Croatia.
Review 35:It was about half a mile from the Old city in a resiential area so parking was easy to come by. Staff was very nice and accomedating. Hotel was well kept.
Review 36:This is centrally places..takes 5 minutes gentle downhill stroll to the central plaza; the buffet food is amazing..the in-house dining was incredible good value...helpful staff, simply made our visit to Korcula absolutely perfect
Review 37:The 70's hotel was unfortunately renovated in a 70's style. Needs another makeover and is blighted by the ugly hotel (Park) situated right next to the dining room depriving it from light and views.
Review 38:The staff were helpful in a "Croatian" way. Beautiful views of Korcula old town from the bedroom.
Review 39:Not quite a luxury hotel. Ten minute hike to old town.
Review 40:Clean, modern hotel. Helpful staff.
Review 41:Great buffet both breakfast and dinner! Spacious rooms. Indoor pool heated! Good locations short walk into town. Very relaxing and friendly staff.
Review 42:Pool was freezing. Went in sea as much warmer
Review 43:Close to town but up a little for maximum views. Excellent meals.
Review 44:Best location on the island, few steps from Old town, nice breakfast and dinner, pool area with stunning view, room clean and comfortable, polite stuff
Review 45:The head house keeper left our door open
Review 46:Location, public areas
Review 47:Carpet was tired and needed replacing
Review 48:view of old town, pullout bed was comfortable. Location not too bad.
Review 49:Nada remarcable - Nothing
Review 50:Las vistas desde la habitación eran preciosas - The view from the room was amazing.
Review 51:small rooms Which were slightly drab. Bathroom also very small
Review 52:The pool area is good although lacks enough umbrellas
Review 53:Lack of parking space
Review 54:Staff
Review 55:Parking place is very poor!!!
Review 56:Great location, breakfast and dinner amazing, stuff excellent and polite, would come back
Review 57:No parking for guests!!!??? No beach (what they call beach is terrible, small, public,...
Review 58:Wonderful views from a very comfortable room. Very easy walk into Korcula old town where we ate every day/night. Great pool area.
Review 59:Parking
Review 60:Nice personal
Review 61:Needs a refurbishment
Review 62:The pool
Review 63:small bathroom wi fi didn't work at all, staff didn't solve it in 6 days high price
Review 64:very good bad Quite hotel and "neighbourhood"
Review 65:SPA + terrace
Review 66:It was outdated for the amount of money that we paid to stay here. The pool wasn't heated, so we weren't able to enjoy it because the weather was cold when we went. We booked a queen bed and they put us in a room with two twins pushed together. My wife got a massage at their spa, and she said it was the worst she had ever had. Her neck hurt afterwards. It wasn't an ideal situation for our honeymoon. I would definitely recommend staying somewhere else if you are visiting Korcula.
Review 67:It has a free breakfast, which was nice. The rooms are big and it has an indoor pool.
Review 68:Very friendly service. The location of being close to the old city while still being on the beach of the Adriatic was great. Enjoyed having the option of jumping into the sea and then head back to the pool.
Review 69:Water leaking from bathroom above ours (room 125). Reception staff didn't seem very happy but were efficient.
Review 70:Swimming pool area and view from the hotel, towards the sea, mountains, marina and old town. Breakfasts were good.
Review 71:Hotel staff were so rude particularly the bar tender who argued with usat dinner about our wine order, and charged us for glasses of water! Wearrived late because the ferry was late (9pm) and our "halfboard" dinner had been selected for us by the cafeteria staff whichconsisted of the worst food and left overs. Disgusting. We didn'teat it. The hotel was clean but very outdated and seriously overglorified as a 5 star "resort" which I would consider 2 starsif that in Canada. We stayed at a few excellent places in Split and Hvarand this was a total let down. Outrageously expensive for what we gotand I would never recommend this place to anyone going to Korcula. Somany other nice places on the island. Don't waste your time, energyor money on this low class, over rated, expensive 'joint'. Youhad to pay 15.00 to use the gym and the restaurant (café??) was nothingshort of a school cafeteria with inexpensive food and little choice. Thedécor was out of the 70's with a 13" old style tv in the room. The shower was a hand shower which caused the bathroom to flood andtheir answer to this was to install a drain on the floor instead ofinstalling a reasonable shower and curtain or fix the glass door. Wecouldn't get out of this place fast enough. We are 3 women (late40') travelling together.
Review 72:The location in Korcula was good but the hotel's service and70's themed outdated facility wanted us to leave right after checkin!
Review 73:It's very dated and doesn't look like it's had a refurb since the 70s Breakfast was practically in-edible.
Review 74:Pool was great View over town Size of rooms Staff were good
Review 75:Bed was so uncomfortable & staff were unfriendly. Breakfast was absolutely horrible (our whole family got sick from it and there was not a lot to choose from). Pool was small. I would not recommend this hotel to others.
Review 76:Nice views of sea.
Review 77:stay in this place in life.
Review 78:We really didn`t like this place. The staff is not good. We stopped our car in front off the principal door in the park and we had our tire broked. Never go to this place.
Review 79:Old dated hotel in desperate need of a makeover which is not visible in promotional pictures. Reception staff also needs replacing to more welcoming, friendly and service orientated people. Definitely not a four star compared to other four star hotels we stayed in Croatia. More like a two star. Room with sea view failed to show old run down buildings and terrace in front of it in it's promotional material. Overall a huge disappointment to what we had experienced over the previous ten days in this magnificent country and its amazing people. Cut our trip short from a 3 day stay to one night. We were not prepared to pay those kind of prices for that level of service and poor state of hotel.
Review 80:Not much unfortunately.
Review 81:A lovely room; comfortable and quite luxurious. The location was perfect for the beach and the beautiful town centre and the pool at the hotel was superb. I would go again.
Review 82:The breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired, and the bathroom had a smell or sewerage which had tired to be covered up with very strong air freshener. The only other item, which is quite minor is the wifi is charged by the KB and only available in the lobby.
Review 83:The staff were friendly and helpful, also the hotel is not too far from the old town or the port but still enjoyed being a bit further out than other hotels.
Review 84:The receptionists were not very friendly. The dining room is more like a dining hall and the food is not very good.
Review 85:It was clean, only 5 minutes from the old town, and it was reasonably priced.
Review 86:No, I think for the price and the pool it was everything I expected!
Review 87:The hotel was modern and nice with a big pool overlooking the bay. It was fabulous for sunbathing all day, or using as a base to explore. The breakfast could have been better but was ok. It was a great location for going out in the evening and only a short walk from all the restaurants, bars and shops. The rooms were good but pretty basic. I would recommend this to others.
Review 88:Staff quite rude. Messed up our booking and gave us twin beds not adouble (and refused to acknowledge that a 'double' on our booking meantdouble bed. No sympathy or alternative room, nor any apology orcompensation for the fact that we hadn't got what we paid for.
Review 89:Great location, nice pool and sun bathing area with views of the oldtown and mountains.
Review 90:definitely a 3 star trying to be a 4 star, so expensive for what it is, but probably the best in the location. drain smell in bedrooms only specific issue, though soap/shampoo not replensihed when required.
Review 91:good location, pool, air conditioning, helpful staff
Review 92:Front desk staff horrible. Services at front desk horrible: no map, noanswers to simple questions, made you feel like you were disturbingthem. Breakfast buffet quality not very high. Paid-for gym - shocking.
Review 93:Cleanliness
Review 94:Hotel was shown as a 4 star. Room was a NO star and this was after I had them give me a better room than original.Barely any staff. Hotel looked like it was going out of business. Breakfast was picked clean before 9 AM. No one should ever stay here. This was our first disappointment in 10 days of this trip but it was a major one.
Review 95:water in shower was only luke warm at best.
Review 96:Friendly hotel staff, very clean, lovely view from pool area.
Review 97:It was mediocre at best. For the money, it was suitable and a decent location into town.
Review 98:Room very spacious. Lovely view from balcony. Lovely breakfast. Good parking. Quick walk (5 minutes) to old city.
Review 99:Only one lift was working, long waits when busy
Review 100:Friendly staff lovely location
Review 101:Unpleasant girl at the reception. Even more unpleasant man in the fitn ess center. Worst breakfast in my whole trip through Croatia
