Reviews for Amalia Hostel

Review 1:It is more a hotel than a hostel. Does not have a common space for travellers.

Review 2:Very nice staff members, amazing location. Great value for what you pay.

Review 3:Not every room comes with air condition. The room without was horrible. It was soo hot. But we changed to a air-conditioned room and that was good. There we also had a private bathroom.

Review 4:employees very friendly and helpful. Near to bars and harbor. Cheap to rent a scooter to visit the city.

Review 5:Noise of the street and temperature in the room, but we booked without ac so its our own fault, first week of august,so what to expect

Review 6:Central location at the harbour

Review 7:Our Accomodations at Amalia were beyond expectations. Everyone was warm and very friendly. The rooms, and expecially the bed are very comfortable which is always important and also we had see view and centeral Location it was Great .Highly Recommend and we have stayed at a bairam day very good price also

Review 8:They took the reservation by MasterCard. Then insisted that we pay cash. They argued vehemently that because of the financial situation in Greecethey would never get their money thru a credit so after arguing for halfhour, I paid in cash. Then the charge also showed up on myMasterCard....

Review 9:It was noisy, but that's what happens when you're overlooking a harbor.

Review 10:The location couldn't have been more central. The staff was extremely helpful and enthusiastic. The price made it a great value.

Review 11:Amalia is located at one of the most central point of Chios harbour. Easy access to favourite restaurants, cafes and bars. Highly recommended for backpackers

Review 12:The room was really smelly and small. Bed was so uncomfortable. WCs was not really clean. Flushes were not working in the bathroom. There is no staff around. We had to wait around 30 min to get the key.

Review 13:The location is reasonably good if you have a fairy to catch in the early morning.

Review 14:Room was noisy because of cars, motorbikes and cafes.

Review 15:Hotel is in the main road. It's very close to restaurants and cafes. Rooms are very basic but clean.

Review 16:One shower/toilet per gender for the whole floor (I believe 8 rooms total) NOISY! Very central location during hot months with no air-con means windows have to be open and bars under party until after dawn. Shutters don't open tv didn't work Shower/toilet room was not the nicest.

Review 17:Staff were helpful Beds were comfy Wash sink in room Reception 24 hours Quaint old fashioned decor Reasonably clean bedrooms central location great on a budget...convenient for early morning ferries. Shower was hot and easy to control

Review 18:My room was very hot. There is no air conditioning, only a noisy fan. No liquid soap in shared bathroom. There is a sink in order to wash your hands in each room, which makes you feel like you are sleeping in a bathroom.

Review 19:On a warmer side. Room fan was not checked for proper functioning, although replaced after request to fix it.

Review 20:Proximity to the ferry port, walking distance, transportation, banks, restaurants. Great staff: excellent English, hospitality, useful information, directions to my places of interests, maps, availability of rental cars and scooters. Clean common shower rooms.

Review 28:not so easy to find the entrance and reception, parking is difficult, price to high for shared bathroom

Review 29:good position, directly at the harbour

Review 30:Rooms has not air-conditioning units. The rooms are too hot to sleep.

Review 31:Be careful, there are rooms that dont have a shower and WC inside and you have to share with others.

Review 32:The good thing is that the staff is polite and helpful so if you have a problem they will try to solve it.

Review 33:Very helpful staff, with information about Chios, and car rental. They took care of our baggage until 22:00 when we went to dinner while waiting for our ferry arrival. Great value for money hostel.
