Reviews for Hotel Liburna
Review 1:The service was a bit slow, but this was a general experience in Croatia. Did not mind it at all as I was on holiday after all!! If you have mobility issues and renting a suite, ask for one on one level.
Review 2:The location was excellent and an easy stroll from the old town. The salt water pool was fantastic for times when we did not feel like jumping into the ocean to cool off. The staff who served us were always friendly and did so with a smile. The breakfast was great! Lots of variety and it kept on being replenished by the staff so it always seems "fresh". Oh - get a sea view room. It really was lovely to watch the boats come into and out of the harbour area. Also, the suite I was assigned had one and a half bathrooms which was convenient if not wanting to climb the stairs to use the loo (bedrooms full bathroom, balcony and dressing area upstairs, lounge bathroom downstairs). .
Review 3:This hotels holds itself back by being stingy. The pillows are very poor quality as are the towels. The breakfast isn't great quality either. And the service is surly and unhelpful, with not many staff around and them often not keep to help with basic questions. If they fixed the attitude problem and bought some better basics, this hotel would be much more popular.
Review 4:This hotel is newly renovated so everything is very clean. We were on our honeymoon and got upgraded to a suite which was awesome. The location and views are fantastic.
Review 5:Nothing
Review 6:The staff were excellent especially the manager who was in the dining room every morning and evening. They even had some gluten free food which my wife really appreciatated. Thank you Thomas
Review 7:Well housecleaning is very lax. There for five nights and they never really cleaned. Sheets bad. Pillows worse. Muzak in public areas really obnoxious. They said they had just remodeled but towels looked very tired. Staff very nice.
Review 8:Location and views.
Review 9:Recently renovated to a very high standard. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was on two floors with balconies on each level over looking the sea to the front and parkland to the rear. Staff friendly and helpful and good standard of food. Would recommend this hotel both for short and long stay.
Review 10:Staff in abundance at breakfast but during day at pool bar not so visible. But good service when did come out.
Review 11:Lovely hotel and location. Rooms nicely updated. Staff helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast buffet, small amounts put out and regularly replenished so never felt had sat out for long.
Review 12:Nothing bad to say at all. Only one tiny suggestion - tea and coffee making facilities in bedroom would be nice!
Review 13:Wow, we absolutely loved this hotel. The location was perfect, right on the seafront overlooking Korcula old town. Less than 10 mins walk to the centre of the old town. Breakfast on the terrace each morning enjoying the views was so relaxing - brilliant choice of breakfast. Our room was a great size with good bathroom; very clean. Didn't use the pool or outside bar but they both looked great.
Review 14:Hotel exceeded in some areas and let itself down in others. For one, we couldn't access wifi in our room, meaning we had to sit in the corridor late at night to book activities. When I informed front desk they said this couldn't be correct and proceeded to show me on their personal device that a wifi signal did in fact exist, which really wasn't the point I was making. The hotel also didn't replace the glasses in our room at all, even though we stayed there three nights. These things stand out when the hotel looks so nice and well presented, and you're paying a decent amount of money for the privilege.
Review 15:Nice spot near the water, good view of the old town. Hotel staff were helpful when we needed their assistance.
Review 16:Quality of the food could have been better for the high price. Maintenance around the pool area bad.
Review 17:Great location, wonderful view from the rooms facing the ocean. Very nice service.
Review 18:Poor wifi, not working for 2 days Bar often not manned Restaurant open for just few hours and with limited choice for lunch (however, there are several restaurants nearby) Hot water often not working or with not enough pressure. All in all, with few adjustments could be a top class hotel.
Review 19:Few meters from Old Town, and right on the beach Fantastic view from seaside room and bar/restaurants Newly renovated Good breakfast
Review 20:A soulless, clinical, sterile envronment with unhelpful staff. We asked for the location of the pool at the Reception desk and were told it was down two flights of stairs. When we got there we were told we had to get towels from the Reception desk!! We climbed back up two flights of stairs, waited to be served at reception, and were eventually handed two towels by the same totally unapologetic, disinterested receptionist who had directed us to the pool two minutes earlier. If you want to feel welcome, don't stay here.
Review 21:Location - nice view of old town
Review 22:Parking occupied by guest of neighbouring hotels. WiFi signal not strong enough, slow connection and didn't work for a part of the week. The stuff was not very worried about that and they found our inquiries annoying. Food was non-imaginative and badly prepared. The food which was not eaten had a tendency of appearing the next day. Beach was a bit of concrete poured over the rocks with very difficult access to a water, especially for older guests (majority at this time of the year).
Review 23:Location and view.
Review 24:Wifi is weak and unreliable, staff don't seem that motivated, Bars not always manned. Food, breakfast, lunch and dinner is very ordinary.
Review 25:Location, hotel recently renovated, pool and view. This is a newly renovated hotel with a lot of promise, it just needs motivated staff to make it work.
Review 26:I asked for a garden view room. Unfortunately I probably had the worst room in the hotel with views over the parking lot...you could literally walk from your car to my balcony. Also the room was clean enough for a 4 star hotel. I found hairs in the bathroom and generally the room wasn't that clean.
Review 27:Great location and services at the hotel are good. Goregous views over Korcula and the old town which is a short walk away. Breakfast was good. Hotel was renovated so feels quite luxurious.
Review 28:Booked a junior suite. Got a room split on two levels, with a massive, tall staircase in the middle of it. Asked for a normal room, where we would not have to go up and down on a massive staircase between the bedroom and the living room. We were told the hotel is full and basically got to understand that they could not care less. Wireless was not working in the room, so had to turn on 3G data to send a few emails home. Curtain rail fell over in the bedroom as we tried to open the curtains. Reception managed to send somebody to fix it fairly quickly. No kettle or other tea/coffee making facilities, no slippers or bathrobe. Fine, but more worrying no fire exit instructions on the back of the door - told reception, they still could not care less. Doubt it makes any difference, as probably would not make it down the huge stairs in case of an emergency. Rooms just renovated, but already falling apart. Door stop on balcony broke off the wall the first day, downstairs small toilet had no towel rail of any sort - staff left towels in the sink - but it did have a hairdryer, which one could use while sitting on the loo ! That's what we call innovation ! Breakfast was mediocre, room service non-existent. There are no double beds in the hotel, all beds are twins although this is not advertised as such. All in all, disappointing stay - not too bad at all if you just want a place to stay while in Korcula, but poor value for money for a newly renovated four star hotel. Next time we go to Croatia, we'll just book an apartment.
Review 29:No hot water for showering in the 3 nights we were there, poor service for cocktail bar (waited ages and then we just left), had to pay for sun lounger on "beach" area, wifi was abysmal except in reception, never any towels available for pool. Expensive for what it was
Review 30:Location and view . Hotel spotless
Review 31:My girlfriend and I were travelling around in Croatia for two weeks. We slept in cheap guesthouses and wanted to end our stay in style. We booked 3 nights in this hotel at a price of €500. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth it at all! The hotel was below all expectations! the staff at the reception was very unfriendly. They didn't give any information About the facilities etc upon Arrival. Also in the room there Was no information available (it was a mystery how to use the phone for example). When going to the beach, we had to pay for a sunbed?! In addition, The beach is not from the hotel, so iT was not private and there weer a lot of Other local people. If you want to play tennis, you have to pay. You want to work out, you have to pay. The swimming pool is as big as my bath tub, definitely not enough room for everybody. We didn't even go in the pool as it looked dirty and not Well maintained. Bad internet Connection for The wifi. There was no warm water in the room, when we called the reception they Just Said "let the tap open for 10minutes and the water will be warm"... Dinner at night is a buffer, however there is not a lot of choice, the same thing for breakfast. Breakfast was ok, dinner in the evening was awful! While we where eating nobody came to ask us if we wanted something to drink. And offcourse you had to pay For the drinks (even water), while we paid for half pension. In the end, while checking out, we had to go to Another hotel to pay, since their system didnt work!
Review 32:Great view room was ok but no nothing more than that.
Review 33:Wifi is very poor, breakfast could be better, with some more efforts this could be a first class resort
Review 34:Wonderful location, terraces overlooking the sea and old town, very stylish and newly refirbished interior, junior suite with two balconies was amazing
Review 35:Standard continental breakfast. Variable wifi.
Review 36:Fantastic location for swimming/snorkelling in the sea and view over Korcula Old Town. Easy walk to the centre. Modern, purpose built hotel.
Review 37:Perfect for relaxing but lacked entertainment Not much to do in korcula itself
Review 38:Pool was clean Wifi only worked in room but was very good Lovely view from balcony Pool towels provided Variety of food 5 minute walk from old town- spectacular views over the old town Quiet place
Review 39:Pool area needs attention! Umbrellas, sunbeds, shower area and pool need upgrading! Why do inside and not outside?!
Review 40:Renovation inside the hotel beautifully done. Suite was stunning!
Review 41:Pool edges dirty, mildewing, broken ladder, umbrellas flimsy and some not weighted down so tipped over easily. Sea area hazardous to enter and recommend water shoes. Receptionist not friendly. Pool towels were a 3 hour wait at 11:00 am. Bed hard. We had to use a pull out sofa bed for 2 kids and it was not set up at 20:00. I had to track down a housekeeper who gave me a couple of sheets so had to go back the next day to ask for a blanket.
Review 42:The location is at the far end of the marina, visible across from the ferry port. We walked there with luggage uphill and behind all the hotels so was farther than it looked. Walking back to town later was much easier along the water. The hotel design is strange with mid level elevator stops. Liked size of junior suite with balcony and partial sea view. Half board was okay and sitting outside for dinner lovely. Beautiful view and modern facility.
Review 43:- WiFi signal was poor at best, most of the time was not available - when requesting cleaning, there was no vacuuming, only towels were changed and beds arranged
Review 44:- Location, view over the sea - Facilities - Food
Review 45:We asked for a single mattress double bed but were told that every double bed was made up of 2 singles which is our holiday pet hate.
Review 46:The quality of rooms was impeccable.
Review 47:Single beds - not a great welcome but that was OK and we had a good stay. Met our needs
Review 48:Great room - all very efficient. Good location although quite a walk from the town when you have your cases
Review 49:There was very little not to like. But the breakfast was average, e.g. Rubbery scrambled eggs, and supply wasn't quite keeping up with demand. Plus it was whipped away at 10am. The room cleaning was cursory.
Review 50:The junior suite with sea view was lovely, and great value for money. The whole hotel was modern and bright and the location was excellent.
Review 51:Wifi didn't work the first two days of our stay. Turned out several of the rooms in the wing where we stayed had no signal. We were then moved to another part of the hotel where it worked.
Review 52:Very comfortable rooms, nice lounge and absolutely beautiful places to go swimming right outside the hotel.
Review 53:- Lack of empathy of the stuff on the reception after long drive on 36 degree Celsius - Bargaining with me that price of accommodation would be better if I would make booking thru their hotel web side rather than booking.com (call for action for Booking.com) - In spite we selected appropriated options on Booking.com side, we got twin beds instead of double bad. The receptionists confirmed that all beds in the hotel are twin option - Free parking – that was the most intriguing option of the hotel offering. I was expecting to park my car on the hotel parking lot, but reception told me that free parking means “I can have it if find it !”. On the end we parked the car far away of the hotel. - The dinner was poor The summary: we left the hotel very next morning. All comments are call for action to the hotel for the sake of the Croatian business
Review 54:Countryside
Review 55:Staying in this hotel requires an extra effort to be nice with hotel staff and you will get an extra attention, otherwise you will end without parking spot, kettle, water, wifi, telephone and towels It is surprising that gym is not free for hotel guests, actually it is too expensive, 10 USD for one session.
Review 56:Hotel is modern, with nice view to the seaside. Personnel is extremely helpful, but you need to be ready to cope with their mood swings.
Review 57:Only approx 10 sun beds around swimming pool. Wifi didn't work in room (but worked fine in hotel lobby). Hotel advertises tennis courts, but doesn't actually own these so you couldn't use in the morning and had to pay to use at any time.
Review 58:Great location, very clean hotel with nice rooms.
Review 59:The air-con system took a bit of getting used to. (It stops working if you open the door to balcony & you have to re-insert the card key).
Review 60:Excellent location, by the beach and with fabulous views to old town. Room was very pleasant. Newly refurbished. All staff I encountered were very friendly, capable and professional. Also has free car parking. Would stay here again.
Review 61:Visited croatia for our honeymoon and concierge very happy to upgrade us to a sea view room. Everything was fabulous! Would love to stay again if we had the oppurrunity.
Review 62:People not from the hotel using the pool.
Review 63:Fab hotel great location, we got upgraded to a suite which was amazing, thank you! Lovely pool, right on the beach. Short walk to town.
Review 64:Organization of parking. And I would suggest owner to make a small mole infront of hotel to easy reach of sea.
Review 65:Everything in hotel was perfect. Distance to old town is very short.
Review 66:We would suggest eating at other restaurants for lunch and dinner. Food was standard but the buffet breakfast which was included was fine.
Review 67:We had a room with an amazing view of the sea. The location was great as it was in a quiet area and only a short walk into town. I would stay here again.
Review 68:Breakfast was basic with not much variety and tea and coffee was of a poor quality. Pool was very salty and pool facilities would be stretched if the hotel was busy
Review 69:The hotel had been newly refurbished and had good parking. The staff were friendly and it was a 5 - 10 minute walk to the old town and the room overlooking the town was good
Review 70:Little things were off, i.e., the elevator constantly getting stuck between 1st and 2nd floors, the receptionist leaving the front desk unattended, the sheets on the beds being too small and not staying on the mattress. Breakfast was basic; we had to go out for decent coffee. We had to carry lounge chairs to the beach and back to the pool area. Landscaping around the hotel needed work.
Review 71:We loved being right on the bay, a short walk from town. The views were amazing! The hotel renovations looked great. Everything was brand new. Good value for money.
Review 72:Noise from the hallways went straight into the room.
Review 73:Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Great views from our room. Short walk to the old town.
Review 74:Location, room view (free upgrade) and friendly staff
Review 75:Nice hotel in a nice city
Review 76:Room cleaning service pretty poor. They did the bare minimum.
Review 77:Nice clean modern hotel. Great facilities and location.
Review 78:Fabulous view from room. Very recently refurbished to high standard
Review 79:Truly terrible coffee at breakfast, breakfast buffet mediocre, inadequate counter space in bathroom
Review 80:Great views, large room (suite)
Review 81:Location was fantastic, great staff and great breakfast.
Review 82:The wifi signal was weak in areas.
Review 83:I loved the view of the old town and close proximity to the sea
Review 84:It was Hard to park. Very poor staff at the restaurant. It takes a while to order a drink.
Review 85:Very good location, nice rooms.
Review 86:fitted carpet in hotel room, nice pool but not suitable for children (non-swimmers)
Review 87:location, breakfast buffet, new furniture
Review 88:WiFi is horribel and in 2015 thats not acceptable.
Review 89:Nice interior, clean and elegant. Close to beach and cliffs for swimming.
Review 90:Everything good including food offer and quality . Ten minutes walk from downtown. Easy parking. Professional staff
Review 91:Breakfast, lunch, dinner...they can get better reviews if they improve on catering services
Review 92:Location, clean hotel, view,
Review 93:Tiny duvet, hard mattress, dirty pool
Review 94:Beach, view, price, location
Review 95:Great sea view!
Review 96:Decor - some may say spacious, some may say stark
Review 97:Location, comfortable beds
Review 98:Great view, close to old town, helpful staff-English spoken!
Review 99:Location
Review 100:Jelena and the lady in the kitchen were fantastic. Really made us feel welcome.
Review 101:The wifi only worked near the room door and washroom
Review 102:Location was close to the city, walking along the bay was very enjoyable
Review 103:Parking place seems to an issue
Review 104:Location and organisation of hotel building is great
Review 105:Only one golf putter. No table tennis.
Review 106:The food.
Review 107:Poor welcome information, more tired and overloaded staff member
Review 108:Great view, beautiful, modern, comfortable room. Good food.
Review 109:Beautiful modern rooms and lovely staff. The views and location are incredible.
Review 110:Teething problems after reburbishment. Felt a bit like a conference hotel. Odd layout of rooms.
Review 111:Great location.
Review 112:Air con took forever to get cold
Review 113:Great food great location
Review 114:Main light did not work and wasn't fixed during stay
Review 115:Sea view Breakfast
Review 116:Clearly worn, hotel needs renovation. Guests can not drink their morning coffee anywhere in the hotels public areas.
Review 117:Nice views to the old city. Nice breakfast.
Review 118:appalling facilities: cracked stained bath, broken basin tap, floppy & smelly beds, worn out decor, slop bucket wheeled to our table, staff who failed to engage at all, inadequate chairs by pool 'bagged' constantly, brown peeling paint, ghastly dining room
Review 119:the view of the old town, reception staff
Review 120:The staff are very very unfriendly, very unhelpful and unaccomadating, it's very expensive for what you get, there is no aircon nor is there a fan in any of the rooms, the breakfast is average but edible and I definitely would not recommend this hotel!!
Review 121:The sea view! That's about it
Review 122:The Receptionist (male) was rude and did not provide any welcome atall. He was not helpful at all and yelled at my husband when we went toget the lift down to our room. The room did not have any air-conditioning or fan and it was extremely hot. We had to compromise oursafety by trying to sleep with the door to the patio open. The patio hadnot been cleaned nor had the table and chairs on it. THe room badlyneeds refurbing. The hotel is not well signposted when entering Korculaby car. It was a fair walk to town and we were very pleased we onlystayed one night. The morning staff were not helpful in the restaurant(except one lovely polite young man) We had to find our own glasses, clear our own table and ask for more food to be placed on the buffet. Wecertainly would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.
Review 123:Not a lot
Review 124:Outdated and past it's best. Stuck in the 1980s and overpriced for what it offers
Review 125:Locatio
