Reviews for Hillingdon Lodge

Review 1:mainly used by builders travelling from the north of England, not suitable for use as a base for exploring London. very poor breakfast. cash only

Review 2:free parking & close to tube station

Review 3:So many things i did n't like. 1) Shower was not working, when complained he did not come and have a look. 2) Broken bed and duvet are not hygenic. 3) All breakfast were either value or basics goods that are clearly displayed - Didn't have anything at all when I stayed 4) There were too many noises until 3pm on the days I stayed. Police were to get involve because of some fight happened

Review 4:None

Review 5:Filthy smelly rooms, broken bed and very caustic soap talent for washing hand; very unkempt both in and outside. Even for bargain hunters at £55 per night they are charging more than double what the rooms are worth.anything over £20 per night is a rip off

Review 6:The receptionist was friendly

Review 7:The lock on the door was very difficult to lock and unlock The hotel was very dirty our room was ok but beyond that was awful We definitely wouldn't of eaten there the kitchen and breakfast facilities were really dirty

Review 8:Staff member was really friendly and very helpful Bed was very comfortable The room was clean

Review 9:The owners family lives at the hotel, it's dirty, the door is always unlocked, there are people drinking and smoking by the entrance who claim they live there, there is a dog that just sits by the door, I could park as my car sits low to the floor and there's no dropped curb, I went down to checkout and there was no one in the reception area, I asked a guy who was working on a door and he completely ignored me. The "breakfast" looked appalling mainly due to the fact that the toaster was dirty........ The list just goes on

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:rooms had no locks on doors very dirty not a place I would stay at again not recommened booking .com should not have this type of property on its web site a score of 2.5 is to good for this property

Review 12:nothing

Review 13:This is a b&b that has mainly residents, not guests. If you book this 'hotel' you are essentially booking a room at a hostel for the homeless,as long as this is what you're expecting you'll be ok. As it's advertised on booking.com we weren't expecting this so were shocked and disappointed an arrival. We got back after midnight, slept and left straight away in the morning without any problems, but didn't use the shower and didn't let b any clothes fall on the floor as the standard of cleanliness was very poor.

Review 14:The bed was surprisingly comfortable as it was clearly very old, cheap and tatty. Very close to the tube stop and easy to get to central London.

Review 15:When I arrived I was accosted by a complete stranger at the door and was asked if I had a cigarette for 50p. This person was a resident of this place. Hygiene was a joke, floor was not hoovered, bed sheets stank of starch?

Review 16:Leaving.

Review 17:Filthy, smelly, bathroom hadn't been cleaned, sink didn't drain properly.

Review 18:If you want to drop off the road network and get on the underground then it is OK. Otherwise don't think about it.

Review 19:Breakfast. Toilet that was nearly coming out of the hinges every time that I sat on it. Bore little outside resemblance to the photo that I saw on line

Review 20:Friendly manager

Review 21:There was around a 1" rim of dust around the room carpet - it hadnt been vacuumed in a long time. The toilet was silicone sealed to the floor, so it moved when you sat on it! But, its a budget hotel - so do you expect any more or less??? When I got up in the morning there was bread and butter on a table with a toaster - im not sure how long the butter had been sat there, so I decided it would be better to go to the cafe opposite. £5 for a full english with coffee and toast!

Review 22:Room was warm and the free wifi was spot on, very fast. The location is great, there is a cafe opposite and a co-op around the corner.

Review 23:everything, really dirty, had to make your own breakfast, not that we ate, because could not fancy it, shower broken, door lock broken,it was like a homeless hostal, would not recommend this at all

Review 24:nothing at all,

Review 25:Its too pricey for the location and fascilities esp the toilet they look like they gonna collapse. Used soaps and sponge are in the bathtub nit very hygienic

Review 26:on arrival we had to ring for staff to check in as no one was around , repairs needed doing to several items in our room like loose taps, unhinged wardrobe door etc. we wasnt told time for breakfast & when we did go for bf there was no cups & only cornflakes, toast & jam . While we were making toast we were constantly stared at by a strange young woman who then tried to scrounge fags off me even tho I don't smoke . on arrival I was asked how I wanted to pay I paid in cash but I didnt recieve a receipt as promised but a invoice for £5 more than I paid was put under our door. Also the milk in our room was just in a jug so by the time we got back late at night it had set lol

Review 27:great location , cheap price & free parking

Review 28:A smelly and unwelcoming reception/lounge area. The room was not ready when I arrived at 3pm. I thought the room would be clean since I had to wait for it to be cleaned. However, the room was filthy - dust everywhere, half full kettle, dirty cups and mugs etc. The shower didn't work and in general the bathroom was very dirty. Interesting selection of bathroom "complimentary" miniatures from various hotels and some of them have already been used. When I left at 10:30am the next day, no one was there to hang the key in. Called the number on the reception door, the person answered the phone was half asleep and told me to just leave the key on a table. This is by far the worst hotel I have booked from Booking.com, avoid it if you can!

Review 29:Nothing!

Review 30:Filthy rooms, pre-used soap, broken window, kettle on top of wardrobe, dirty mugs, no coffee or milk, no BBC1 or BBC2 or TV available, dirty car park, nothing like photo, we left due to filth. Felt personally unsafe. Breakfast was supposed to be DIY toast.

Review 31:The car park was not easily accessible, having to drive over a pavement to reach parking spots. The room was tiny and not particularly clean. The shower was constantly dripping. General lack of hygiene. Breakfast was ridiculous, just some toast and cereal. Generally way too expensive for what is offered.

Review 32:The location was good and easy to access.

Review 33:Corners were dirty, spoons were dirty, mat in toilet had a brown stain on it, sink and stains running down sides of bowl, needs new toilet seat. TV did not work. When I left at 10oclock there was no one about to hand key to, plus leave any remarks

Review 34:The bed was clean and comfortable.

Review 35:Kitchen facility very dirty and very poorly equiped. Breakfast available very poor indeed not continental as advertisd. Availabikity on Cereals.

Review 36:Almost everything.

Review 37:Room was very dusty. Bin was not emptied during the day when we where out. Bed linen clean BUT had stains on it. Three pillows for a double bed surely four would be better. Generally in a poor state of repair throughout. Kettle was in need of a good clean. Cup mats where actually Christmas bauble card cut out's (We stayed here in August) Cups and glasses provided where dirty. The CRT TV did not work properly with some channels unavailable and poor audio interference on those we could watch. The 'En-Suite' was dirty and the toilet actually moved when you sat on it and the toilet roll holder was broken. Inside and out of the drawers where dusty and we had to dust these before placing our clothes inside. On check out, no one was available to hand in our key. This used to be an Indian Restaurant, I think it should have stayed as that.

Review 38:Nothing. The Indian take away just half a block away.

Review 39:We could not book in till late and I had words with owner as they didn't seem to want to wait up this is not a 24 hr place and it should say you have to be there at a certain time, if I new I would not have booked

Review 40:Room clean and comfortable

Review 41:Everything!! Unclean cups & glasses in room. Threadbare duvet cover.Threadbare carpet. Dirty toilet & filthy shower. Pubes in big bar ofsoap in bathroom. Half used "complimentary" shampoo miniature.Continental breakfast is a loaf of value bread, value jam and marmaladeand a carton of value orange - not sure the Europeans would agree thatthis is their breakfast! The list just goes on! Just don't stay here- you have been warned!!!!!!!!

Review 42:Parking facilites!

Review 43:room basic but you get what you pay for room could have done with a lick of paint

Review 44:Very good location easy to find excellent parking facilites very cheap for london short walk to local shops receptionist very helpful and friendly

Review 45:The noise It was fairly dirty the bathroom door lock was broken and the bathroom door squeaked The Wi-Fi connection kept dropping I had trouble waking the staff member to give back the key and exit the locked premises in the morning When I had to pay cash I had to keep asking for the receipt

Review 46:The gentleman that greeted me was friendly

Review 47:Unwelcoming reception, very basic room, no lock on bathroom, light was permenantly on in the bathroom, black mouldy seal around the shower and very musty smell. Windows did not shut hence not safe and noise from A40 very intrusive. Breakfast was DIY, Tesco basic bread, butter in tub, jam and tea/coffee left on the side.

Review 48:Location near Hillingdon station and a40

Review 49:Freezing cold shower filthy access corridor. Filthy mattress ' dumped outside.

Review 50:the room ,the ment to be breakfast ,was a joke .no one around to complain to

Review 51:Everything, I had to make another booking else where, as it was not fit to stay in!

Review 52:Never come here again

Review 57:Breakfast arrangement and cleaneness

Review 58:Gr8 location

Review 60:It was Dirty, with piles of rubbish outside, the reception and office were dark dirty and cluttered, slept on top of bed all night, never again.

Review 61:Bathroom very tatty, not very clean

Review 62:Close to the rail station, friendly staff

Review 63:cleanliness

Review 74:first impressions

Review 75:reasonable double room staff helpful

Review 76:Sparse breakfast

Review 77:Location for tube into london. Ability to park car all day with no charge

Review 78:NO reception. Dirty access. Seems to be for long stay social service housing

Review 79:Good location for us straight off m40 good for tube easy parking

Review 80:Outdated,smelly and filthy, bathroom very mouldy needs a good clean.

Review 81:Staff was attentive and friendly

Review 82:Everything else. I suppose the bedding and towels were clean

Review 83:Proximity to Hillingdon station

Review 84:Convenient location with easy parking. Owner kindly ordered a local taxi which arrived promptly and was reasonably priced with pleasant driver.

Review 85:Everything

Review 86:Cleaness Had to ask for clean towels Shower nozzle broken

Review 87:Location Breakfast was ok Beds were comfy

Review 88:Dirty place needs the health people to visit ,shouldn't be on booking .com

Review 89:every thing. Shower did not work. Room smelled and was damp.TV was analogue and only had 4 stations. Tea tray only had black tea , no coffee. Breakfast was sliced white bread with a toaster kettle cofee and tea Tesco value. I left at 6.30am after a lousey nights sleep. worst hotel I have experienced in this country.

Review 90:Could have had a bigger and better tv. Don't like the look of the place but every thing elce was fine

Review 91:The place was not what I had expected and a bit of a shock. I knocked on the door and from the start the staff were very friendly, check in was quick and I was taken to my room with the offer of having my bags taken for me, room was dated as was the TV, the bathroom was very clean, wifi very good, bed was low but again very good. I will be booking if I'm in the area again

Review 92:Film of dirty water in the glass in the bathroom. Breakfast so poor that I went to the cafe across the road afterwards.

Review 93:The location was good and the staff friendly

Review 94:The toilet heating is full of rust and the shower is broken with no normal water temperature also the kitchen is disgusting and dirty just like a yard waste and when sleeping during the night people keep making noise from the down floor arguing about stupid things also in the morning there is no one to do you cook breakfast, they will just put a two slice of toast in the toaster for people staying in the lodge and a couple of cereal and a glass of milk open for those who may need it. (Stupid place we will never ever stay there anymore)

Review 95:We do not like nothing about the dirty and stink place, the kitchen is so disgusting with the bin open and the fridge is full of old opened food.

Review 96:As you walk into the breakfast room, it smells of stale B.O. T.V did not work properly. Decor dated and poorly done. Bathroom disgusting. woodlice in the bottom of the bath. didn't bother with the disgusting breakfast room arrangements. Worst hotel i have ever stayed in.

Review 97:location was the main priority for booking this hotel. sheets and towels were clean The guy on reception was helpful

Review 98:It was filthy, it smelled awful as soon as you went through the front door. The accommodation was basic which for the money was what we were expecting but the actual cleanliness was disgusting, to the point of myself and partner going to bed fully clothed and showering after using the bed. The linen was clean enough but the actual bed, curtains, furniture and bathroom were just grim. (Didn't want to touch anything). To be honest if our funds weren't so tight and we hadn't already paid we would have left and found somewhere else in an instant, but unfortunately we just roughed it for the 3 nights we were there, literally just using the lodge to sleep and shower, this still cost us £168. I know it's a case of you get what you pay for, but the very least i expect is cleanliness. I saw the breakfast on offer and for someone to say it's homely i think is an understatement, i've no problem cooking my own toast and getting milk from the fridge for cereal or coffee, but when that's offered alongside stale cornflakes, dirty crockery and cutlery and a kitchen i wouldn't even want to feed my dog in. I just don't understand why they think it's ok to offer this standard of accommodation, or why booking.com advertise them on their site.

Review 99:The lodge was convenient for both tube connections to central London and the X90 Oxford coach to central London which runs 24/7. Uxbridge is 10 minutes on the U2 bus so we went there for dinner the 1st night and we picked up some food for breakfast for our stay from the local tesco, as we weren't expecting much promise from the lodge. The man that took us to out room was friendly, but i wouldn't feel safe staying their as a single woman or even as a group of women.

Review 100:Mould in the bathroom, Dust on furniture, Split mattress - stuffing coming out, Television was old and buzzing, Fire doors in corridor wedged open (did remove one - it was replaced by morning), Sink plug did not fit, Milk for tea in open jug on side and tea bags just left in dish.

Review 101:Nothing cancelled a stay later in month

Review 102:Woke up in middle of the night asking for more money when we had to be up early, and bouse all bight doenstairs, never stay again, rather sleep on street

Review 103:Disgusting.Linen not changed in my stay or rubbish cleared fromroom.Limited cereal available.Longe a mess most times. No one to cleanup the mess in lounge after travellers have made the mess Last day nobread or milk.

Review 104:Nothing.Only convenient to City Centre.I Would like a refund fro you

Review 105:I have said that I would recommend the lodge to other travellers providing that they come will reasonable expectations. The Hillingdon Lodge does not have the brand qualities of other Lodge chains .... but then again, it doesn't have their prices either!

Review 106:You can not fault the Hillingdon lodge for convenience in terms of its closeness to the M40, Hillingdon tube station to get into the city (London), and its free car park. Potential guests have to acknowledge that the lodge is VERY competetively priced and accept that you get what you pay for. Both staff members we saw were pleasant and helpful. The beds were clean and comfortable and the shower powerful and hot. Breakfast was very, er, homely shall we say.

Review 107:Many issues, and worst of the hotels I have stayed in the last 3 months. 1) No toiletries provided 2) The Towels had holes in it 3) The sink had no plug 4) Didnt feel like using the water from the tap for drinking purpose 5) Breakfast was very basic, white bread and some corn flake packets. I had to hunt for Milk. There was no one to attend to 5) FireAlarm went off for no reason late in the evening 5) Will never go back

Review 108:There was enough parking space onsite. Very close to Uxbridge City Centre

Review 109:Breakfast room was tv and sofa also so people in there from drinkingnight before - description of continental breakfast is a stretch whereit's a loaf and toaster and cereal packets - better description ismake your own toast and cereal available

Review 110:Near tube stationcheap for london

Review 111:breakfast was a joke, milk sour, no one about, glad to get out of there. tea facilities in room 2 tea bags, 1 coffee sachet no milk, when asked for a VAT receipt was told they don't have a number and still not received one.

Review 112:Room clean.

Review 113:They were smoking in the lounge area when we arrived and the wholebuilding including the bedroom stunk like a dirty wet ashtray. Holes induvet cover although it did appear clean and why towels on cupboards?Remote didn't work. Shower room and the whole bedroom neededpainting and some tlc and all the furnishings needed washing to removethe smell. Scourer left in sink, although sink didn't look like ithad been cleaned. I had to wash all our clothes when we got home toremove the smell of ashtray!

Review 114:Convenient location. Glasses in bedroom, not plastic.

Review 115:Badly run, no customer care, unclean, dirty bathroom with mould on wall, poor fittings, unsafe wiring, tv that didn't work, tiny receptionwhich the east European staff used themselves to watch tv, no staff onovernight, shambollic diy breakfast - wished that we had looked moreclosely at the reviews of others that had stayed there. I would notrecommend this place to my worst enemy. At best it is a poor hostel -certainly not a hotel.

Review 116:Only its proximity to Hillingdon underground station to get to London. There was absolutely nothing to recommend this place.

Review 117:Dirty. Room apparently uncleaned from previous occupant, bins notemptied and no coffee in room. No staff at all in the morning -breakfast a do it yourself shambles with no crocks left - we went acrossthe road to a cafe.

Review 118:Closeness to the tube, and price and availability online

Review 119:On ariving there were a number of tools on top of the table cloth thatbreakfast was served on next morning. Breakfast was so basic and it wasdifficult to decide which were the dirty dishes and which were the cleanthat I decided not to have any. The tea cup that I used in the room thefirst night was not cleared away on returning the following night. Thebed apeared to be clean but areas of the landing still had bits ofpaint/plaster that had fallen off the wall. Even for a budget placeit was vastly over priced for what they offered and as a result I wouldnever concider stopping there again.

Review 120:Unlike Hillingdon Lodge the local facilities are good (shops/takeaways etc)

Review 121:Difficult to locate.poorly signed.Litter all around the building..Thought we had arrived at a doss house. No heating in the room.Noblankets on the bed.No staff in the morning.Breakfast. Non existentSliced loaf, Cheap marmalade dumped on a table. I suggest that youremove it from your listings. It is cheap but that doesn't accountfor lack of staff and diy hospitality.

Review 122:We needed to be in the area this was ours second choice. We arrived at9pm to late to move on and lose our booking fee. Not good for uk tourism

Review 123:it stank of smoking, the rooms were dirty and the shower wasn't fit to use.the whole lodge was grubby and i would suggest you do not encourage people to go there

Review 124:It was the dirtiest most disgusting place I have ever stayed in. Hairs, black dust and crumbs from food on the floor and also in the drawers and bottom of the wardrobe.Thick brown smear marks up the walls and on the filthy curtains. Very large cracks and bits chipped away on toilet seat. Fan in ceiling in bathroom so thick with black dust it would have been unhealthy to switch it on. Despite a NO SMOKING notice in hallway the whole building was thick with the smell of smoke. All the doors and drawers were covered with greasy dirty finger print marks. I stayed for 3 nights because I was asked to pay on arrival and the room was unheated with temperatures outside of 3c.

Review 125:absolutely nothing

Review 126:It was the dirtiest place ever. It should be closed down soon.

Review 127:Nothing we liked..

Review 128:Expired milk since 2013

Review 129:Not much

Review 130:bit dated and in need of a refurb

Review 131:location
