Reviews for Kings Paget Hotel
Review 1:WIFI is not available in the rooms and only works in the reception area and you are required to pay 5 Pounds for this. Why do I want to pay 5 Pounds to go and seat at the Reception? We paid for a Superior Double room but it appears that the only difference between this room and a Standard double is that there are 2 Extra beds in the Superior Double as against one in the Standard Double. Regrettably, we thought we were paying for more comfort and not extra beds. The bathroom did not have anywhere for you to put your stuff. I had to put my toilet Bag on the floor while shaving and while I showered. Finally, the mattress on the Kingsize Bed was too soft to ensure a good sleep, so me and madam slept on the 2 small beds.
Review 2:Nothing to dislike.
Review 3:Cleanliness and closeness to Motorway and Town ,parking was also available and free.Breakfast was also good and available From 6.30 and served with a smile !!
Review 4:Dirty bathroom Only daylight a small crack from a skylight Uncomfortable cold blue light lightbulbs
Review 5:Convenient for Heathrow Limited but good breakfast
Review 6:A very nice room, nice helpful staff, a lovely breakfast included, near train, buses and food take-out shops. An older building in a middle-class neighborhood that seemed safe at night.
Review 7:Nothing. Some rooms can be better than others but always acceptable. Reception desk can sometimes be a bit deserted but there is usually someone around to attend to check-in.
Review 8:For a one or two night stop over its excellent. Good breakfast provided. On-site parking is good, with usually enough spaces. Location is brilliant for m4 and west london.
Review 9:TV control was impossible and no instructions for guidance. Bathroom very small, too small in fact. Bed too hard. I went to fill up with fuel on my morning of departure, arrived back to my room at 8.50am to find cleaner coming out and the bed having been stripped. This was way before check out time and I thus had no chance for a final relax and cup of coffee before my drive down to Poole in Dorset. This I find unaccepable. There was no one at the desk to check out with, despite ringing the bell a number of times (which suggested that I would receive a response within two minutes). Perhaps they are avoiding potential complaints such as the one I desired to make. Staff are noisy, shouting down the corridors to each other from before 7.00am.
Review 10:Room was roomy enough.
Review 11:While booking the room I clearly stated that I wanted an Internet connection in the room (I was traveling for work, so that was not really optional for me), but when I got there they told me the WiFi wasn't available in my room. After showing them my booking, the changed my room. The room had the windows open, so it was cold and I had leaves and dirt near the windows, even on the toilet! On the first night, at some point, the radiator in the room stopped working. On the second night, the boiler broke down (yep, no warm water), they noticed it only in the morning and the fixed it only in the afternoon. The outside of the windows was covered in spider webs. I could literally hear everything from the room next to mine, EVERYTHING.
Review 12:Breakfast (you order it and they cook it at the moment) Friendly staff
Review 13:No free Wifi. Staff not always available. Rooms a little dated. No transport facilities close by you so you do need a ca to get anywhere.
Review 14:Stayed with my son for a couple of days. Good value especially including breakfast which was basic but fine.
Review 15:The room was very 'tired'greatly in need of thorough decoration and fixtures and fitting had seen better days. What we found most annoying was that it reeked of cigarette smoke and had burn holes on the curtains &,window ledge and had to sleep with the window open all night to get rid of the smell .,did smoke alarm work we wondered.
Review 16:the breakfast was very good generous portions, friendly service
Review 17:I was a bit confused whilst booking the rooms. Somebody needs to look into it. The beds for the children were great size though. I didn't expect it!
Review 18:Very friendly staff, excellent service all together!
Review 19:Limited parking No 24 hour reception Place is a rough area. I had a bad experience. I was asked to park the car in the opposite street and when I came out someone threw a egg at me. I think booking .com should notify relevant people so that some other innocent person is not affected. This happened during the middle of week that too just after 10 pm
Review 20:No lift so had to lug large suitcase up several flights without even any offer of assistance. Parking spaces all taken/full when I arrived about 9pm. So I had to park on local street. Mattress:poor quality.
Review 21:Was worried it would be noisy, but was quiet enough.
Review 22:They claim internet is free and yet its charged £5.00 per day. The reception staff were very unhelpful (she said they had no rooms the next day only to be advised the next morning that they actually had rooms) but the domestic staff were very sympathetic and nice.
Review 23:Very little to be honest.
Review 24:no idea how to turn on the radiator and no assistance available to refer to(partly because i arrived too late)
Review 25:when i arrived i had already miss the checkin time but the reception had made a very wise plan-B to solve this problem!have to say i am very grateful for what they have done!
Review 26:No free wifi, not a problem for me but maybe a consideration for others.
Review 27:Quiet, clean room. Lovely breakfasts, served efficiently and quickly included in the price. Free parking. A good, cheaper alternative to a chain hotel. On the bus routes and 10 mins walk from the station. Good value for money and a pleasant stay.
Review 28:Had to go looking for staff at breakfast.mugs on table no saucers etc.it was a no frills hotel rather like a stopping point for wagon drivers.
Review 29:Room was clean.bed and linen were well laundered
Review 30:Most accommodation offers at least a Queen bed .. we found a standard double not condusive to a good nights' sleep; additionally the quality of the mattress was not high. Otherwise excellent breakfast and charming inner courtyard.
Review 31:Quiet location close to Heathrow. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent for stopover from Europe to N. America.
Review 32:STAFF was extremely helpful in getting us a car, giving us directions. Food was delicious & again staff was very friendly. Beautiful little courtyard & very close walking distance to train station, which we took to Windsor Castle a perfect days outing for either first day of arrival at Heathrow Airport & or your last day before departure!!!
Review 33:Absolutely everything , no bath plug, no staff, tv on blink they changedit gave my husband and he had to install it. No curtains up at thewindows. It was £81 they promised compensation to bookings .com thenwhen we asked for it said the room they gave us was an upgrade which wasrubbish , I think bookings .com should have sorted it, they didn't,the man called Heath said he would get a supervisor to call us next daystill 3 weeks later and 3 calls no reply from bookings .com their as badwont be booking again with either.
Review 34:My plane arrived late and the hotel staff did not extend check-in for me by half an hour even though I asked. I had to call them when I arrived so that someone could come let me in. Also they wouldn't let me check out until 10:30 am even though checking out was just returning your room key.
Review 35:They gave me an upgrade to an ensuite room free of charge
Review 36:Nice room, great bath, good fast breakfast, easy public bus to and from Heathrow - for just 1.5 pounds each way. A short way to the hotel. Buy an Oyster card at Heathrow. Return it when you fly out - you get all your money back except what you used. Great Indian restaurant a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
Review 37:The mattresses were terrible. You have to pay for wifI and it did not work in our room. Cost 25 pounds via taxi to get there from Heathrow Airport.
Review 38:Staff was friendly.
Review 39:booked a premier room but was shown a family room wich we did not want, in end was given a double room , but in our opinion was not a premier room. hotel was over booked an at breakfast nothing went right on first morning. second morning breakfast fine, but overall was disappointed with things..
Review 40:While bathroom was spacious, clean and looked like new, the only complaint was that there were no bathroom counters. Otherwise everything was great!
Review 41:The hotel was close to airport and a great value for our last night in England. The staff was friendly and the room was comfortable and clean.
Review 42:Bathroom needed some repairs and the commom areas were a little dirty.
Review 43:Excellent location with fine stores nearby. Close train makes very easy going to London. Excellent breakfast.
Review 44:The single bed was terrible. Apparently they do not take any notice of what is on your web site.
Review 45:I had booked a single bed and quiet location. All single beds have no quiet location. But, because I had booked in advance was given a special bedroom in quiet location.
Review 46:Breakfast did not cater for dietary requirements but did give me what I could eat which wasn't very much. Even made a joke with another resident about wanting decaf coffee, this does have it own stimulants just not caffeine which makes me violently ill. Did get the decaf though she thought they had some somewhere, breakfast staff were weird and not very empathetic towards peoples dietary problems. Asked if they had anything gluten free got a flat no. Before my stay it asked if there were any allergies or dietary requirements, these were obviously ignored.
Review 47:quiet
Review 48:Availability of staff only during certain hours (no front desk personnel available in the hotel after closing hours). Duplicate room numbers. No system for wake up calls prior to 06:30. No phones in rooms or way to contact front desk from your room.
Review 49:Staff was earnest. Rooms were clean.
Review 50:bedroom was close to kitchen.it was very noisy.poor quality buiding as we could hear lots of noise from the room next door.bed was very uncomfortable.the window was in the ceiling and we were not given instructions how to operate it until I enquired about the window.
Review 51:Location very convenient for Heathrow as bus U3 was 10 minutes walk away and took 18 minutes to Heathrow. Also only 15 minutes walk from station with trains to London. Hotel was very pleasant, staff friendly, room large.
Review 52:Difficult access to hotel from train without transport and limited facilities available locally.
Review 53:Lovely old building with upgraded facilities and very clean with close proximity to Heathrow. Friendly staff and excellent service.
Review 54:The beds had springs coming through, I was in a family room which was right next door to the kitchen so you got woke up at 6 am with microwaves doors being slammed every couple of minutes pots and pans slamming staff talking very loud, you could not sleep after 6am , the sheets on the double bed had stains on it , the smell of cooking was very strong in your room,my overall opinion of the hotel was dirty ,run down and won't even let dog stay there , if your a person who don't like to sleep then it's the ideal place for you
Review 55:There was nothing I liked about this hotel
Review 56:Friendly staff, easy to get to from Heathrow by either the U3 (from Heathrow main bus station) or 350 bus (from T5) - hotel website should mention this (can pay for the bus using contactless debit/credit card). Nice park nearby if you want a short walk.
Review 57:The wifi wasn't free, £5 per room for 24hrs.
Review 58:Friendly staff nice hotel very clean great breakfast. We were even allowed to keep our car there whilst we went into London for the day.
Review 59:Parking is not guaranteed and1st come basis - not what you want when staying night before a flight to holiday. Receptionist was grumpy and not keen to help with parking issue
Review 60:good location, nice clean hotel
Review 61:Bathroom was very small and has no towel and cosmetic racks at all. No Wifi in my room because it was too far from the router.
Review 62:Friendliness and willingness to help of hotel staff. Very near to bus stations.
Review 63:Wifi wasn't the best. Quite slow. And didn't like the fact that you had to pay £5 for 24 hours.
Review 64:Staff were friendly, private and quiet just what I needed. Breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent.
Review 65:No wifi in rooms and the fact that the comfort is put out of perspective by having 1 double and 2 single beds in one room when there are only 2 people
Review 66:Clean, very nice staff , good breakfast, easy to get into London and to the airport. Enjoyed the stay, staff very helpful, would stay again!
Review 67:Smashing place , cracking staff and tasty breakfast, good pressure on shower , and let us leave car parked there whilst we went into London for the day . Mustn't grumble .
Review 68:Room was not soundproof and there was too much noise from the main road.
Review 69:The breakfast options were superb and the room had adequate facilities (hair dryer, iron, tea/coffee, TV).
Review 70:Room was hot and wifi doesn't stretch far couldn't pick it up in our room
Review 71:We had a lovely time, the guy who booked us in was very attentive made sure we had everything we needed, was well worth the money, only slight problem room was too hot but that's all really, kitchen staff, waitresses all very welcoming would definitely return
Review 72:Nothing to dis-like at all.
Review 73:Been staying in and around the area for over 7 years and this is the first time I have stayed here. Wished I'd tried it earlier. Receptionist Olga was very friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Would recommend the superior rooms which are in the main boody of the hotel. Will be now using this as my first choice of hotel every time I am down there.
Review 74:Room wasn't avaliable on 2pm arrival. But should of been ready at 11am.. breakfast was full and people was seated in the hallway to eat breakfast on tables and chairs from outside!!
Review 75:Very friendly staff very welcoming room was spacious and clean ensuite very nice and clean breakfast cooked to order good selection of cereals definitley recommend We stayed for 2nights and used it for base to legoland
Review 76:Wifi is mostly very fast (you will need a BT account) but did cut out a couple of times over the 2 nights I was there.
Review 77:I like this place as it is convenient for the motorway, clean and tidy and well priced. I've stayed here twice before and it does what I need. Bit far out of London to travel in and out repeatedly but for a stay at the end of a day or evening in town it is just the job. I guess good for Heathrow as well but I've not used it like that.
Review 78:Having to share a table at breakfast with via stranger as dining room vwas full
Review 79:Spacious rooms, attentive staff, excellent breakfast, good value for money
Review 80:The mattress on our double bed was too soft and my 15stone tended to 'slide' into the middle! very uncomfortable! A firmer one is recommended.
Review 81:Our ground floor room was spotless & well equipped. Well refurbished - the 1st floor rooms have yet to be done.
Review 82:On arrival a man was by reception clutching an open can of lager a D making joke about room being £200 a night.
Review 83:The bed was comfortable. Food at breakfast was good and plenty of it.
Review 84:My room had no fresh air or ventilation. Could barely breathe in there. Some of the guests plus staff member had a great party in the hallway half of the night making it impossible to sleep. Unfriendly staff.
Review 85:Was kept awake by people banging doors and running water until 3AM which made for a bad start to my holiday.
Review 86:Very comfortable and clean and close to the airport. Handy shopping parade and pubs close by.
Review 87:On arrival had to ring to let desk staff know we was their when the desk staff did arrive was not a very happy person,no small talk,no welcome greetings.
Review 88:Breakfast was lovely, dinning room clean cool and airy, room spacious.
Review 89:It was very strange not to have someone on the front desk so we had to wait/call a number when checking in and out.
Review 90:I like the room and the breakfast
Review 91:A few minor troubles, the carpet needed a vacuum and the hot water tap in the bathrooom didn't work.
Review 92:The breakfast, the breakfast room, the quality of the bedlinen and towels, the shower and the complimentary toiletries were all pretty wonderful. The park at the front of the building was lovely to wake up to - mature trees and birdsong. The staff made me feel very welcome.
Review 93:There are not enough spaces in the car park for every guest. They did not tell me this and I was forced to park on the road outside the hotel. However I ended up getting a parking ticket (£55!!) because the staff did not tell me where else I could park or that there might not even be enough spaces! Staff are rarely around if you need them. Rooms are old and need updating. The light in the bathroom didn't work. Shower was dirty and had nowhere to hold your soaps, shampoos etc. just felt old and dingy would not stay here again.
Review 94:Was a comfy nights sleep
Review 95:I was very pleasantly surprised, given the inexpensive cost, at the quality of service. I have absolutely no criticisms at all and found the staff so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be staying there again.
Review 96:Would of liked check out to be a little later.
Review 97:The hotel was great location for us, the rooms were clean and comfortable with good facilities, breakfast was nice and hot.
Review 98:one day, returning to my room,I found the door wide open with no sign of anybody. When I approached hotel reception about it, I was told the maid had gone home, leaving my room door wide open. Luckily enough, nothing had gone missing
Review 99:absolutely nothing. All great
Review 100:not the usual cheapo hotels - but very nice, comfortable, slightly old fashioned hotel, superb in every way. great beds, rooms, bathrooms. Lovely receptionist (we were late in, in the evening). good value breakfast
Review 101:I was charged 5 Pounds for wifi which did not work in the rooms but onlyat the reception. I was given a cable to plug into my laptop to enableme use the Internet in the room but of course I could not use myIPAD.The bath has no grab rail and the bathroom so small and had no topsto keep stuff on so I had to keep my bath bag on the floor. The workdesk had no chair and I had to move one of the 2 chairs provided in theroom to the desk which in any case barely had space to work on as italso had on it the tea tray. The room had no tag to put on the door toindicate privacy. Although this was a double room the bed was so smalland could barely contain my wife and I despite our lean frames. And themattress was creaky. Finally, there was no phone in the room tocommunicate with the reception desk.
Review 102:It's nearness to Heathrow Airport .
Review 103:Receptionist was very unprofessional and struggling to understand English, paid extra for wifi but could not get online. Only stayed one night so didn't bother trying to sort it out. We stayed in room 15 which has no windows and room was very warm
Review 104:Room was large and spotless, breakfast was excellent with very friendly staff
Review 105:Bed a little close to toilet door but that was the shape of the room.
Review 106:Friendly atmosphere, lovely breakfast room. Full English breakfast cooked to perfection with a smile. Very quiet considering how close it was to Heathrow.
Review 107:The room I stayed in was an odd shape with wonky walls- that with the extra single bed in there made it feel a bit claustrophobic, because when you are sat in the bed the foot-end wall is at a slant to the end of the bed. I know they can't help the shape of the property but I personally found it a bit off-putting. I would stay again but only if they have a regular shaped room! Very clean and staff helpful!
Review 108:First room I was given had pubic and other hairs still in the bed (sheets not changed), carpet was dirty, dead batteries in TV remote, thin walls between rooms, lots of road noise thru closed windows, unable to lock door from inside, guest room doors left wide open during cleaning time with no one in there......
Review 109:Receptionist was very helpful when I had an issue (but was not always there). Breakfast was good except for burned toast and scum on top of sauce bottle. Car park had cameras.
Review 110:A couple of minor problems but were soon sorted by the staff, thanks.
Review 111:Easy to find, welcoming, spacious room with all the facilities you might need, good value for money.
Review 112:Staff somewhat indifferent. No towels provided on arrival, we had to ask. The boiler was unfortunately broken, but an electric heater was supplied. There was however only very lukewarm water available for showers. Rooms not very soundproof - next door's shower sounded like it was in our room.
Review 113:The location was great for what we needed, and it reasonably priced.
Review 114:No sound insulation. could hear snoring and coughing all night. could barely fit into the bathroom.
Review 115:Breakfast staff were helpful. breakfast was properly cooked and fresh. inexpensive.
Review 116:We were unable to use the bath or shower. Because of the way it was situated with a fixed plastic screen we would have had to climb in and walk to the taps in order to turn on then exit quickly until the hot water came through. This is especially difficult for older people stepping back and forth on a wet surface. A shower curtain would be more appropriate.
Review 117:Everything was excellent apart from the bathroom facilities
Review 118:No wifi in room. Bed had really uncomfortable mattress which was too small (feet and head over hung it!) Staff smoking in building visible from breakfast area which meant I could smell the smoke. Room next to kitchen which awoke me at 6:15am with smell and noise.
Review 119:Reception was pleasant, informative regarding the local area.
Review 120:Female receptionist was unfriendly. Our kettle didn't work and we had to change room and she seemed to be blaming us. But Manager did say she was sorry for this and would speak to this lady. Bath too small for me but I am slightly overweight lol.
Review 121:Breakfast was great. Clean hotel. Very friendly server at breakfast.
Review 122:Nothing negative to say.
Review 123:The staff and manager Ed were very helpful. Clean hotel, breakfast was very good with hot eggs and excellent sausage. Will definitely recommend my friends and come back soon.
Review 124:Receptionist was no way nice she left us standing out in the cold while she was on her mobile phone and when I complained that we were tired and cold and wanted to check in she was rather rude! it was 10 to 2 in afternoon and it said on reservation we could check in from 12!! she needs to learn a bit of manners!
Review 125:room good and spacious, lovely en suite bathroom, good breakfast
Review 126:The room and bathroom décor and furniture date back to the 1980s. The room was smelly, the hot water trickling, the shower head and holder broken, Internet was at extra cost, no phone in room, no extra duvet (it was cold), and batteries in the remotes for the outdated, bulky TV system were dying.
Review 127:The breakfast staff was friendly and efficient. The room was kept clean and fresh towels provided on a daily basis.
Review 128:pillows like bricks...very hard and uncomfortable no number on door?? breakfast very busy full english ok but seemed rushed good bacon but overcooked...tasted of oil??
Review 129:everything else, always a good spot for using heathrow, and will use again in the spring
Review 130:Pleasant and helpful staff gave me an excellent room upgrade for a bargain fee. Gave advice regarding taxis and booked one for my trip to the airport.
Review 131:It was convenient for our needs in visiting our daughter. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station where a direct train line will take you into the centre of London. The staff were friendly. The car park can fill up quickly and I am not sure where you would park when it it is full.
The Fine Print
