Reviews for Trearddur Bay Hotel

Review 1:Having paid for a classic room we were offered a budget room. That was rectified but the new room had large water stains on the ceiling and wall running down to a light switch... We had no lighting in the room on two mornings. This was reported on the first occasion but nothing was done. Surely electric problems represent a fire hazard? We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed.

Review 2:Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely location

Review 3:not enough heating in the hotel room very cold heating on timer not on till early evening dining room very cold at night complained to staff who agreed

Review 4:the room with seaview and balcony was excellent. It was very clean spacious with comfortable seating area with daily room service.

Review 5:Windows could have done with a clean.

Review 6:Deluxe room was wonderful, large sitting area, 4 poster bed tastefully decorated. The view over the bay was wonderful. Additional finishing touches such as dressing gowns and slippers enhanced the experience.

Review 7:The hotel restaurant didn't come up to our expectations for our 45th wedding anniversary, the food wasn't edible (my husbands meal of duck wasn't therefore charged for) There was no atmosphere, whatsoever.

Review 8:All hotel staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Review 9:Staff friendly and accommodating. We booked their last room, asked for an upgrade, and were given it free when a room became available. Swimming pool was clean and just the right temperature.

Review 10:The staff serving breakfast were slow and unfriendly, there was no conversation to be had. Had to ask serval times for the same thing.

Review 11:Fantastic hotel, the rooms are outstanding. Comfy clean and elegant. Enjoyed our stay even though it rained we were happy to stay in our room!

Review 12:The fact that there is no lift can be problematic at times and can result in us staying elsewhere in the area.. Also had become a bit expensive for during the summer months

Review 13:Lovely well kept Hotel. Friendly staff

Review 14:WIFI worse than normal, which is frankly bad enough.. same tired "continental" breakfast options, dinner in adjoining bar was poor, very bland and dry lamb hotpot.

Review 15:Staff are always very friendly.

Review 16:In general the hotel lacked atmosphere and friendliness. The bed was awful in our room, it creaked and the mattress was poor. We had gone there for a rest and we had poor nights sleep.

Review 17:relaxing atmosphere & location

Review 18:We weren't too impressed with the menu and the food was very basic and not at all value for money. We don't mind paying top whack for top whack food, but our meals were certainly not up to the standard that was reflected in the price.

Review 19:Excellent location. Our room was amazing!

Review 20:The Restaurant and bar staff made no attempt to 'engage' , no smiles, blank looks and disinterested.

Review 21:Beautifully designed and immaculately clean room. The 'public' areas also clean, tidy and well maintained. Receptionists and chambermaids charming and efficient.

Review 22:Had to be assertive about where to sit at breakfast. We wanted a window seat, but were asked to sit in a windowless inner room. However, a table was cleared and we had a table with a view.

Review 23:Wonderful location overlooking the huge sandy bay and only 10 minutes from the ferry terminal at Holyhead. The staff were really helpful and the hotel rooms were large, comfortable and modern. Swimming pool was welcome after a 6 hour drive. Very good meal in the restaurant.

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:The style of the rooms and decor was superb. The rooms with a balcony looking over Treardurr Bay are second to none. A beautiful hotel with lovely staff. A pleasure to stay and will be back again.

Review 26:The only let down was the buffet we were provided with, very disappointed, very poor quality and burnt. However to give credit they have promised a free, three course meal at our next gathering.

Review 27:Lovely location, friendly staff,we were there for a family gathering and enjoyed the stay.

Review 28:Difficult to get to the room. Not just one flight of stairs, but another half flight, then a few more, then a few more down several hallways tough with luggage. Very expensive for what you get. Carpets should be replaced.

Review 29:We loved the view and the little outside balcony. Kudos to the pub staff as one of the servers ran some medicines we had forgotten up to our room!

Review 30:Very pleasant room, fabulous bath and equally fabulous shower. Good location. Inn at the Bay very relaxed. Food good, breakfast choices good. Booked on Booking.com. Wish I'd looked on the hotel website as they had a better Sunday night offer including meals, which would have been a better deal.. Will know next time!

Review 31:The swimming pool was not as we expected not being in the hotel, clearly a summer thing!

Review 32:The room was modern and we'll laid out, comfortable and clean.

Review 33:Restaurant menu is dull and uninspiring. Needs a revamp tp include local sea food.

Review 34:Location is superb and reception staff make you feel really welcome. Rooms with sea view are excellent.

Review 35:Would prefer a refurbished room if we stay again. Breakfast was a little disorganised with lack of cutlery condiments etc but food was good

Review 36:Excellent location right on the sea front. Staff were very pleasant service and goo was really good I the Inn at the Bay

Review 37:Little things, like going down to the restaurant at 9:05 (when it is due to close at 9:30) to be told they've closed early as it wasn't busy (on a Saturday night!), and no shower gel or shampoo in the room. Things like this stop it from being a top hotel, but it's not going to stop me from staying there again.

Review 38:The hotel has a great location and the fact it had a pub with good beer (e.g. MPA) on the taps was a bonus. Breakfast was excellent, especially for a buffet, keeping both veggie me and meat-eating boyfriend happy. The view from our balcony room (5) was second to none.

Review 39:Very comfortable lovely bright room with balcony.Friendly, efficient staff & very good food.Plenty of places to visit nearby. We were extremely lucky with the weather.

Review 40:Creaky floorboards in the room above. Didnt help that somebody was walking around the room until 1am in the morning.

Review 41:Lovely location and very cosy room

Review 42:Could not get a meal even though we were staying there. The room was a little on the small side, not very clean, the bathroom however was spotless and a good size.

Review 43:Perfect location

Review 44:Keys to annexe had to be reprogrammed twice. No wifi in annexe

Review 45:Breakfast was good ,staff helpful, nice extras in room. Excellent parking. Good value for money. Would recommend to others.

Review 46:We stayed in the tower we thought it was exceptional good value for money we even had a sea view, the housekeeping staff and breakfast staff were lovely they couldn't do enough for us especially Leanne at breakfast we are hoping to return sometime in March can't wait.

Review 47:the bed was quite uncomfortable; the springs felt like they were poking through the mattress. My bedside lamp was broken and wrapped in a plastic bag and the bathroom sink was cracked.

Review 48:We were able to take our dog who was able to sleep in the bedroom, and the staff were all very accommodating and friendly. The shower was above a bath but was a power shower. The breakfast offered a lot of choice and catered for all.

Review 49:The room we had the deco needs up dating paintwork deco etc Shower controls always fell off when turned explained to reception Will revist but will book one of the deluxe rooms next visit

Review 50:Excellent position on the bay breakfast good The inn at the bay food good

Review 51:The room was located over the kitchen area and was noisy until closing. The decor was beginning to date and the room was dusty. The restaurant Menu shown on website was not fully representative of the menu available.

Review 52:The location was beautiful, the staff helpful and the food in the inn was lovely.

Review 53:Bedroom decor a little tired . Bathroom radiator/towel rail very dusty. Carpet very dirty and stained.

Review 54:Lovely location. Food in restaurant very good.

Review 55:in the restaurant on Sunday night loads of tables had a reserved sign on them the ones looking over the front. so we had to sit in the back, where the kiddies corner was, and watch theses tables left empty for the rest of the night. I did ask if we could sit there but was just told they are reserved.....

Review 56:the staff was lovely,

Review 57:We were in the tower house and there was a problem with the alarm going off once at 11-25 and again at 11-50 we had to walk over to reception to report the problem Not a very restful night sleep

Review 58:Our room was upgraded and we had a fantastic sea views very large and comfortable and a very good full English breakfast

Review 59:The service in the bar / conservatory was so bad we were in hysterics. This also continued when we went for breakfast the following morning. The staff generally seemed to be young and untrained. Saying this, I would still come back to this Hotel.

Review 60:The Location is superb. We had two dogs with us and wanted a beach location and this was perfect. The room was beautifully decorated and very quiet even though the Hotel was busy.

Review 61:Overpriced for the quality of the room. The room allocated did not easily lend itself for easy access to the bathroom for example, due to the step into it being located at the side of the bed.

Review 62:Great location and staff. Food in the bar and at breakfast was very good.

Review 63:Standard room quite expensive and very small. Restaurant service uncoordinated on the Saturday morning due to volume of staff. if you have any dietary requirements, they do not cater for this and you have to advise in advance of your stay.

Review 64:Good location, across the road from the bay, easy access to the South Stack and the other interesting coastlines.

Review 65:swimming pool surroundings and shower were dirty cooked breakfast was poor noise made by other guests during night disturbing sleep sound insulation poor

Review 66:friendly staff

Review 67:Lack of decent fruit alternative for breakfast and wifi continues to be awful - I complained on check out and was told it was temporary, I assured the staff member that's it's not a recent phenomenon and has always been poor!

Review 68:There was an issue with the key for the room which wasn't a problem, but as my husband went downstairs to sort it out I waited in the corridor and overheard the chamber maid laughing to her friend and telling her that my husband has a big nose. I am a local girl who stayed for the night of our wedding so understood every word even though she spoke Welsh!! We were very late for breakfast on the Monday morning and rightfully greeted by a disgruntled waitress. Nobody had informed us that weekday breakfast times are different to the weekend. The restaurant wasn't open for evening meals on Sunday night.

Review 69:The room was beautiful with an absolutely cracking view of the beach. It was large, spacious and clean and very comfortable. The bar renovations have made a big difference and our bar snack was tastey.

Review 70:The room we were given was very poor I don't know if it was because we booked it with booking .com it was at the back overlooking the bins I immediately went to reception to complain as for the price I paid it was not acceptable . The lady on the desk was most helpful and changed our room to a side sea view room no hasle whatsoever which we thoroughly enjoyed no extra charge we would return to this hotel in future even though we did think the price was a little high for the original room .

Review 71:The breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly .And the location ideal .

Review 72:The service in the restaurant was not good and the staff did not seem interested, no bread of water offered and a hair was found in my husbands breakfast.

Review 73:The view was fantastic.

Review 74:We had a little blip with the location of our room and noise, however the management team dealt with this very well.

Review 75:Hotel in a superb location and the staff are delightful. Room was nicely fitted out with everything we needed.

Review 76:Expensive 3 star hotel.1 bedroom did not have a wardrobe, simply 3 coat hooks and 4 hangers were provided. We complained and got a £50 refund. Swimming pool changing/shower area looked shabby, we did not use it.

Review 77:The location of the hotel was excellent. The staff very friendly and helpful. Decor good.

Review 78:the view of the bins from our window

Review 79:good location, pleasant outdoor sitting area and comfortable public areas in the hotel. Found all the staff to be pleasant and helpful

Review 80:Breakfast choice limited and coffee not to our taste - a little weak. Bed too soft for me

Review 81:Inn on the Bay pub - good food and reasonably priced. Helpful manager who sorted a booking glitch

Review 82:Service a little slow in dining room one evening but we did just coincide with a large family party.

Review 83:Friendly staff. Clean, bright rooms and decent sized bathrooms in both rooms we stayed in.

Review 84:We were allocated an unrefurbished room which was most unacceptable given the price we paid. However, the receptionist was extremely helpful and found us a more comfortable room. We also weren't keen on the fact we had to enter all our personal details to access WiFi. Most places just give the site and provide the password.

Review 85:The staff were very friendly and helpful . The bar meals were great and the breakfasts excellent.

Review 86:Only negative, there is no disabled lift, some elderly people struggled with the stairs. All rooms need a luggage stand. No safe provided

Review 87:Plenty free parking, excellent breakfast plenty of choice Lovely clean bed linen, lovely big towels, very clean rooms, Bright & airy rooms, some have airconditioning, Rooms with mineral water & well stocked hot drink facilities with biscuits in the room, very friendly staff, well kept garden area Lovely sandy beach across the road

Review 88:Breakfast is not really up to scratch. The cooked breakfast part of the buffet was relatively poor. Poor customer service in the adjoining Inn at the Bay.

Review 89:Fantastic location.

Review 90:Lovely restaurant food, but a little pricey especially as the atmosphere in the room didn't lend itself to fine dining.

Review 91:Very friendly and accommodating staff. Being given the option of Restaurant or Pub Meals.

Review 92:The quality of the evening meal food was acceptable, but the portion sizes were very very very small. They are ok for pensioners on holday, but I am a working man and after a days work these portion sizes were totallly insufficient.

Review 93:Accommodation Good

Review 94:Room was located in a converted house nearby and was in need of extensive renovation . Perhaps this is why it was a budget room.

Review 95:Room was big and clean and the facilities were good. Excellent shower and a nice view.

Review 96:Stayed in an annex so no wifi, no problem as only stayed 1 night.

Review 97:Second stay at this hotel on way to Ireland. Great place to stay, staff very friendly & efficient, great food in bar, great breakfast, very clean throughout. Will return.

Review 98:A last minute booking. Ended up in Room 10 at back of hotel. Room was excellent but the view from window was a three sided boarded fence!! Looked like the hotel was trying to provide security? But, 3 feet from the window? Got moved to another room. It is hoped that because a late discounted price had been offerred that the hotel staff were not trying to place us in a poor room??

Review 99:Amenities Views from front of hotel Good food and drinks Helpful staff Close for walks along beach

Review 100:The staff were miserable, sullen. The young staff seemed to be in fearof there 'superiors'. The service in the restaurant wasdreadful. We sent our starters back twice as we were not ready for them. They didn't 'do' apperitifs.

Review 101:Nothing apart from a good sized room and bathroom, with a constanthumming from what was the air conditioning unit

Review 102:Suppose with every isolated hotel everywhere they have the franchise on food and drink. Therefore every meal was more expensive than expected.having said that the food was no better than pub grub

Review 103:Furnishing and quality of rooms was of a high level.excellent views over the bay. Staff were polite and helpful.

Review 104:The window could either be opened slightly for minimal ventilation or fully opened. A raised section of floor exists within the bay window recess which could form a trip, there is no balustrade to prevent a person accidentally falling through the window. I'm sure a glazed external panel could be fitted without compromising the building elevation.

Review 105:The double room was spacious, the bed enormous, the en-suite adequate. The whole atmosphere was one of quietness and included a sea view.

Review 106:room 18 was obove a noisy fan which was a constant irritation. We complained only succeeding in getting it turned off after 10pm on our second night. We cancelled our 3rd night. Breakfast was stewed and eggs rubbery, nothing freshly cooked.Service slow.

Review 107:Excellent location

Review 108:Lovely quiet hotel in a splendid and almost secluded location. Rooms are comfortable well maintained and nicely decorated. Pity I arrived late at night and had to leave early morning as the hotel is right by the coast in a lovely bay so did not have a chance to enjoy this.

Review 109:We weren't told which restaurant we were dining in and where and what time breakfast was. The inn at the bay felt a little bit tatty and grubby. The cutlery and crockery was chipped and dirty which just shouldn't happen in a hotel. Our duvet cover was ripped which isn't a good first impression, also our window was so dirty we could hardly see out of it. Breakfast was adequate not great. Things missing off the table, people were constantly asking for items, Basic stuff really.

Review 110:Obviously a fabulous location in the heart of Anglesey. From what we saw of the refurbished rooms they were nice. Restaurant pleasant, evening meal nice. Overall service was good.

Review 111:The noisy disco keeping us awake until 12.15am, the wifi failing mind evening and for the rest of the stay, and cooked breakfast not available until after 8.00am.

Review 112:The sea view.

Review 113:I booked a budget room. These are in a separate building away from the main hotel. This isn't stated on the website. Although I'd happily stay again you should give potential customers all the facts.

Review 114:Fantastic location. Attentive staff. Excellent food. Very comfortable bed.

Review 115:When we booked we did not realise that our bedroom would have no outlook, which was sad in such an attractive setting.

Review 116:Not having to do the housework and cooking!

Review 117:we originally booked a late room in the budget part. It was horrible so we changed to a decent room in the main hotel. The receptionist just airily waved us in the general direction of the budget room - no help with luggage or any frills whatsoever. I looked at the mattress in the budget room - it had a nasty plastic backed cover over it and the mattress was stained. To be honest, I was checking for bedbugs. Thank goodness we were able to move into a nice room ultimately. Dinner: the restaurant manageress gave us some menus and said she was coming back - but we sat and waited but she never arrived back and we were unsure of what to do. I asked not to have duchesse potato, could I have rice instead. Yes, and so it arrived, guinea fowl and rice - no veg. I asked for veg and it arrived about 10 mins after the main meal had arrived and was very al-dente. The manageress was a very poor communicator and avoided eye contact. No explanations given. The waitress was sweet tho.

Review 118:the barman was very helpful and friendly - in both the pub and the hotel - esp. the hotel

Review 119:We were first assigned a room directly over the air vents from the kitchen. The staff bent over backwards to find us an appropriate alternative.

Review 120:The staff were wonderful

Review 121:Large crack in bathroom basis and taps need to be looked at warm water coming out of basin cold tap. Shame really lovely bathroom and decor.

Review 122:Bedroom decor was fab . Breakfast excellent.

Review 123:The breakfast tables didn't have their compliment of condiments and the cutlery was not as clean as it could be.

Review 124:One member of staff stood head and shoulders above the rest. Jess, a waitress, in the bar/restaurant always had a smile, was very helpful, considerate and went out of her way to please.

Review 125:Easy parking, clean and comfortable room, recently refurbished. Balcony an unexpected bonus. Restaurant food very good with good quality ingredients beautifully prepared.

Review 126:Shower only and low slanting ceiling and the paint came off when it got wet. Toilet flush did not work properly. Room 605.

Review 127:Situation, appeared comfortable. Enjoyable dining experience in the Inn on the Bay.

Review 128:Cleanliness issues with breakfast crockery and staff uniforms - highlighted to reception staff. Bed not as comfortable as home!

Review 129:Excellent location; car parking easy; reception staff very helpful and efficient; breakfast choice adequate

Review 130:Poor attention to detail with service: dirty cutlery, dirty napkins, very poor service at breakfast.

Review 131:Very clean hotel. Location was perfect. food was acceptable.

Review 132:We pointed out one of our group was over 90 but we were still allocated a room on the second and no lift! Not sure about what would happen in case of fire!

Review 133:Excellent shower.

Review 134:Had a plumbing glitch with our first room, but the matter was handled promptly and without fuss, quickly reallocated and we were very happy with our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 135:Comfortable room, very efficient staff who seem to have customer service as a priority.

Review 136:Breakfast buffet was depleted, poorly presented and served in a separate room. Staff were unattentive and overworked. They could not handle the number of guests.

Review 137:Nice location on the bay.

Review 138:Reported shower fault three days running with no response. Carpets very dirty in room and hall way, room dated, bathroom sealant discoloured. Paint work chipped.

Review 139:Location

Review 140:The bed was hard and we found it uncomfortable, new pillows required as they were flat...wifi was intermittent and we had to keep logging in.

Review 141:The view from our room was wonderful, it looked out over the beach and Treaddur Bay. The food was good and the room clean. The hotel was spotless and staff very friendly and welcoming.

Review 142:Very uncomfortable camp bed for daughter. Awful breakfast, cheap, gristly sausages. No bar or rest on a Sunday. Other people got a meal included when only paying for a standard room and we paid a fortune for a luxury room and got nothing included. Felt ripped off. Food in attached pub awful.

Review 143:Nice luxury room

The Fine Print

Please note that Wi-Fi is not available in the hotel's annex building.
