Review 1:None
Review 2:A well run hotel. All the staff polite and efficient. Bedroom was very clean and warm. The food in bar very good. Breakfasts cooked to order and hot.
Review 3:My partner and I stayed here for New Year's Eve, our second visit. Couldn't fault it at all. The blonde lady who works on the front desk ( I should have got her name ) is exceptional her customer service couldn't be questioned. Fantastic!
Review 4:Their is an offer from fullers for a free drink at the bar when you logonto the wifi however not made clear the manager was very rude andunhelpful about the offer and just said no code no DRINK....and refusedto take two drinks off our bill. The only other issue is hotel car parkis small but you can park round in the pub car park. We have stayed manytimes but would consider else where due to managers poor customerservice and attitude.
Review 5:Very clean hotel with nice bar area.
Review 6:food is expensive Green led licht flasching out of the airduct, lichts up the whole room in the dark is not visible on day time.
Review 7:spaceus and clean good parking facilities friendley staff good food
Review 8:My husband cleaned hairs from the plug hole that had been missed when we arrived as he didn't want to complain.
Review 9:It was lovely and Christmassy, cosy and the bar was good. Beds were comfortable
Review 10:Wasnt too clear that breakfast not inc and then that it was 12.95 on the day but 11 pound if booked in advance. Bit naughty that however staff agreed to only charge us 11. as it said it in my email
Review 11:Everything very clean. Huge double bed very comfy. Excellent breakfast. Good atmosphere in the bars
Review 12:Always a good experience here although we don't use the facilities that much...the beer is good and the breakfast always nice...we stay here about twice a year and have never been disappointed.
Review 13:was not asked on the second morning (sunday) what eggs we would like forgot toast, would be nice to have a cafeteria of coffee like in the rooms as husband drinks tea and myself having coffee he always has copious amounts of tea while i have one cup of coffee unless i keep asking for a refill, air vent in room 209 never turned off so was very noisy and flush on toilet would stick and keep filling until you un stuck the button.info about pre ordered breakfast hadn't been passed onto reception so was charged incorrect amount but was sorted out straight away when i noticed.
Review 14:clean quiet and good food, sausages at breakfast were extremely tasty
Review 15:I stay in red lion two to three times now but the rooms we have there was no view
Review 16:The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable . I enjoy the food we didn't have to wait very long
Review 17:Bar area was busy and seating was very limited. View from our room was a wall, but wasn't too concerned by that.
Review 18:Tastefully decorated rooms, nice clean bathrooms, tucked away from the main road, so no disturbance from noises, various nice little touches, such as a variety of teas/coffee, toiletries, decent facilities and a nice bar area. Didn't try the food there, looks nice, but menu was quite expensive.
Review 19:Your on line booking system failed to record advance booking for breakfasts so we had to pay full price for them! Bed Room not ready so we transferred to another room.
Review 20:Bedroom excellent with plenty of space, bed very comfortable. Restaurant well laid out and plenty of choice of food.
Review 21:To get in and out of London we had to taxi to the train station first (only £5 though) otherwise it was like a 25minute walk. Swipe card to get in room kept breaking, had to be re-programmed every time.
Review 22:Free parking
Review 23:some paint smells still in the room, although I was the first to stay in it!
Review 24:brand new room, lovely and relaxing, quick, correct and hot food for room service
Review 25:No view from room Poor phone signal from room but helped by free internet.
Review 26:Clean, well equipped rooms with comfy beds and new bathrooms. Restaurant seemed recently refurbished with helpful and friendly staff. Good quality evening meal & breakfast.
Review 27:The price if the breakfast. Too expensive. No reduction for children. On top of the price of the room, we couldn't afford it, so went to local Weatherspoons where breakfast is only £2.99!
Review 28:Clean room, comfortable bed with clean bedding. Bath. (I only have a shower at home) bliss. Fridge with fresh milk for the tea & coffee. Good food in resturant & bar.
Review 29:Very helpful staff, go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Bed very comfortable, bed and bath clean with lovely fluffy towels.
Review 30:Enjoyed all aspects of our stay. Over from Brazil to celebrate a friend's 50th and it was so nice to come back after to the hotel to relax and have a good night's sleep.
Review 31:The Red Lion offers quiet, very clean, well-appointed comfortable rooms, and staff who ensure that one's taxi is booked for Heathrow. There is a pub located at the opposite end of the building so no noise problem, and beer and pub supper available if required. For me this is a far better option than the hotels on the Heathrow "strip". The taxi was 8BPS and took 15 minutes to Terminal 2. I will definitely use the Red Lion again.
Review 32:Had to ask where rest of my meal was as side order wasn't brought out. Breakfast in the morning- the floor around our table was covered in food, whether from the night before or earlier breakfast, did not give a very good impression, the teapot had a chip and crack in it, not very hygienic
Review 33:Had to search for a member of staff at breakfast as the place was deserted at 8.00am
Review 34:Excellent location for Brunel University, lovely room, good facilities. Fresh milk in fridge an added bonus.
Review 35:I cannot think of anything I didn't like.
Review 36:I was pleasantly surprised how clean, comfortable and well equipped the room was. The receptionist was really pleasant and helpful. Very enjoyable stay.
Review 37:Nothing of any consequence to complain of.
Review 38:I love the historic ambience. I've loved the original pub which forms part of the hotel for 40 years (along with the London Pride). Ease of check-in/out.
Review 39:Sunday evening meal in the bar. Chose the roast beef which was fine but potatoes, and veg were a disappointment. Only wanted a simple meal after driving over 300 miles.
Review 40:Breakfast in the restaurant
Review 41:unfortunatly thr bathroom was a bit dated and in need of an upgrade for a room billed as superior
Review 42:the period feel to the place was nice and gave an impression of old world charm. the staff were helpful and pleasent
Review 43:Went for breakfast on Sunday morning and although I appreciated they were busy I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to take my order.
Review 44:Really lovely comfortable room. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 45:Really quiet room and comfortable bed. Had a heavily discounted rate so was delighted overall and will look for this property first whenever I'm staying in the area, hoping it falls within budget.
Review 46:Those little extra touches made this an excellent stay: mugs for tea/coffee, a carton of milk in the fridge, soap and flannels in the bathroom, very clean, nicely decorated, fresh flowers in reception, quiet, very reasonable price, excellent choice of food at the breakfast bar (fresh fruit, ham, cheese, croissants, fresh bread to cut .... and the usual cereals, juice, coffee/tea, toast, and cooked breakfast). Excellent
Review 47:on my booking.com booking it states breakfast meal plan £11.00 but on check out was charged £12.95 and said the £11.00 was only if you booked at time of making booking. This is the 1st time that a meal plan option has not been honoured when using booking.com
Review 48:location and friendly employees
Review 49:Due to a change in travel plans we needed to have a really early start on Tuesday morning (6.00 am) and couldn't have breakfast which had been booked , tried to cancel this on arrival, unfortunately , we still had to pay for it as it was done through booking.com , I think that could have been done through the hotel
Review 50:Friendly, comfortable hotel on a main bus route from Heathrow , near Hillingdon . Food was exceptional and staff were very helpful and pleasant
Review 51:We had to wait quite a while for our room to be ready
Review 52:Staff very friendly and polite room was very clean and extremely comfortable Breakfast was excellent
Review 53:The hotel is well maintained and clean. The room facilities are excellent with everything that you would need for your stay, making it very comfortable for guests. Nice to stay in a room that was part of the original building and maintained its heritage whilst being modern in terms of what is offered to guests. We ate in restaurant whilst there and the food was of a very good standard too.
Review 54:Not the easiest place to find if you are in a rental car without a Satnav!
Review 55:Room was at the rear of the building and quite quiet. Above our expectations for a suburban hotel. Food was of an excellent standard and all staff were friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay again when in this area.
Review 56:I had booked a taxi from the hotel to the airport, The desk clerk told us that the fare was 14 Pounds, When we got to the airport the driver tried to charge us 25 Pounds, The hotel should have better control of the taxis they book for clients.
Review 57:The breakfast my wife and I had was spectacular
Review 58:Easy to find with a very nice accommodating staff. Also a laundromat across the street if you have been traveling for some time. Laundromat very pricy, but after ten days on the road.....
Review 59:Nothing else to do locally, but would be an excellent base for the Cotswolds or even day commuting to London
Review 60:Great location near to Heathrow. A terrific restored pub.
Review 61:When I arrived cars were parked across two bays, with parking at a premium I enquired at reception where I should park and the guy (Australian/New Zealand) promptly told me he would sort a space for me, and true to his word 3 minutes later he had done exactly that. He was polite, courteous and funny which is nice to see when travelling long distances for business
Review 62:The staff are wonderful - very friendly and helpful Nice little touches in the rooms - mini fridge with a mini carton of fresh milk - that's class! And a proper face flannel in the bathroom (I always bring my own)
Review 63:The bed, when you were laid in it, it was like been laid up hill and to bouncy my 18 year old daughter was on the sofa bed, it was so uncomfortable in her words q
Review 64:Food and the staff
Review 65:Plastic undercover on mattress but easily removed.
Review 66:Staff and venue are excellent. The chef and food in restaurant are top quality traditional English cuiscene.
Review 67:Excellent room and very good value. Didn't have breakfast but enjoyed evening meal in relaxed settings. Would be more than happy to book this again at this price as we were staying overnight after taking our son to Brunel University.
Review 68:Room service had made up our room ahead of our 12pm checkout whilst we were at Heathrow. Awkward.
Review 69:Nice clean well priced hotel near to Heathrow. We used this hotel whilst we changed hire car rental companies. We had a quick cheap breakfast at Wonder Cafe opposite BP before heading for Heathrow.
Review 70:No information folder in room eg. for local cab companies etc. Staff were efficient but not particularly friendly.
Review 71:Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Easy public transport links.
Review 72:Breakfast service was all over no one new what was going on. Toast half hour before breakfast came, had to ask for cofee but was good when finally got it.
Review 73:55 rooms and about 10 parking bays and another 10 cars parking on the kerb. We went out all day Saturday and arrived back at the hotel at 8pm. Pub and restaurant was in full swing and every parking spot was full. Road full of cars. I had to park the car down the road in a housing estate outside someone's house. Not what I was expecting when I booked it.
Review 74:Staff very friendly. Rooms and hotel very clean
Review 75:Parking is a problem when the hotel is full or near full. InBooking.com, the hotel description states "Free! Free publicparking is possible on site (reservation is not needed)." This isfar from the truth. Limited parking is available, as we found outourselves on our first night there and a reservation is needed, as theydo not have anywhere near enough parking for all the rooms that theyhave. As we were staying for 9 nights, this was going to be a problem, however a satisfactory and prompt solution was found. In our view, thehotel should state that limited parking is available and should takereservations. Wifi is good, but needs signal boosters, as we found itslow, when hotel was full.
Review 76:Good location in unique historical building Friendly staffComfortable bed Extra facilities such as refrigerator, toiletriesetc. Lively restaurant and bar Room service available Secure parking( but limited spaces)
Review 77:Taxi from heathrow to red lion 38 pounds. Taxi back to airport only 18pounds. Ripped off by first taxi.
Review 78:Close to heathrow and makes a nice alternative to the big airporthotels hotels
Review 79:The bedroom would have been better with less furniture in it.
Review 80:Staff, especially Natalia, she helped us so much in planning a train trip to visit relatives. Also loved the pub and restaurant and the general ambience. The hanging flower baskets outside were stunning.
Review 81:Hate to say it but,the bar staff could be a bit more cheerfull.Location is a bit far away from Tube station for my likeing, but thats just being picky!
Review 82:Reception staff were so helpfull. They made our stay so much more enjoyable.Rooms were very clean and spacious.A very relaxed atmosphere, which is what you want on a weekend away!
Review 83:Stayed in Room 108-a family room adjacent to another family room which could be accessed via an interconnecting door. Television noise from that room could be heard very clearly through the wall. It woke me up in the night and I sleep deeply!
Review 84:Great location. Friendly staff.
Review 85:Hotel is steeped in very tasteful British decor, giving the establishment an atmosphere of reserved elegance. Beds are very comfortable, accommodations spotless, and staff extremely courteous and helpful. The location is most convenient to Heathrow airport (about 20 min drive for us at mid-afternoon) We would definitely recommend the Red Lion Hotel!
Review 86:We have stayed many times and find the staff so pleasant and accommodating. The food is fantastic and good service in restaurant/bar. We changed a booking of 6 to 20 people and within an hour the staff made it possible! A Big thank you again!!
Review 87:impossible to print pdf file from the computer in the lobby ("driver not installed"...); need to register with email to use free internet and to repeat this for all devices
Review 88:Calm location close to Brunel Uni campus and just few bus stops from Uxbridge underground station, personnel, comfortable and large room, parking, excellent restaurant with room service
Review 89:We had a very young baby with us so that means a pushchair and a lot of luggage yet they put us to the highest room without a cot as requested until 40 minutes after arrival
Review 90:The welcome was friendly
Review 91:There wasn't any negatives apart from the price, I luckily got a discounted booking but wouldn't think it deserves the high prices it charges for rooms.
Review 92:Conveniently located for my needs, lovely pub and good range of food
Review 93:In the light above the shower there was a lot of dead flies and my daughter thought. The sofa bed was uncormftable.
Review 94:staff were very friendly, our bed was very cormftable, food was very nice , lovely area to stay would definitely go back, thanks
Review 95:Absolutely fuming!! Hotel was a very good price (hence reason for booking) at £178 for two nights for myself and my partner. However, upon arriving at the hotel I was told that I needed to pay £298!! - the cost of the hotel AS WELL as a £60 charge each "in case we used the room service". So upon my departure I was very confused when asked for my card again but was reassured that the payment on arrival was just a pre auth check. Now (2 days after returning) I have discovered that I have been charged £476 for the stay so they have taken both the payment on arrival and on departure!
Review 96:Just a small complaint, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was good, but we thought the waiters could use a little more training, and we also thought the price for breakfast was a little high at 11£ per person.
Review 97:We were quite happy staying at the Red Lion the night before leaving from Heathrow. It takes a bit of mapquest searching to get to the car rental return for the first mile, then it's just a matter of following signs, so very convenient, less than 4 miles. The parking is free, onsite, so also convenient.
Review 98:For me the bed was too hard, but thats just me because my husband had no issues at all
Review 99:It was clean, the staff were wonderful and the breakfast was amazing!
Review 100:Abit far from the hotel, looked up the corner of the celling saw cobwebs was not happy and also some one left their hospital appointment letter under the ned no one saw it.
Review 101:I liked the convince of the hotel, and also the fact that when you look from outside you will be suprise how the place is actually big, really cosy.
Review 102:No lift facility so I had to carry my luggage to first floor, staff did not offer help. Bathroom flooded after using shower due to partially covered tub/shower
Review 103:quiet environment
Review 104:Could find no fault with the hotel its facilites or its staff brillinat all round. Well done Red Lion
Review 105:excellent, friendly welcome nothing was to much trouble. We were able to leqve our car in their car park after we had checked out . The food was great and good value for money.
Review 106:Breakfast no soya milk despite requesting it. Was rectified. Buffet not of usual standard having stayed several times. Cereal bits scattered on floor under my chair .
Review 107:Bedroom excellent. Comfortable roomy and clean.
Review 108:Shower made entire bathroom very wet Extractor fan not working in bathroom
Review 109:Good welcome; staff very attentive (without being overbearing) Clean and comfortable Reasonably convenient for travel to final destination Although on a busy main road very quiet inside the hotel
Review 110:I did not think the man on reception at check in was very friendly or informative. One other thing there was an intermittent drainage smell which was rather unpleasant
Review 111:The room was large enough and comfortable.
Review 112:The air con in the bathroom of room 120 was useless, after a shower the mirror was dripping with condensation and all plastic containers were wet.Perhaps its time the outdated shower over the bath with the horrid curtains were replaced.
Review 113:Its convenient for visiting family, normally easy to park, not this weekend though. Breakfast pleasant, good choice of food.Comfortable beds, sheets are getting a little worn, no longer crisp.
Review 114:It's off putting when we discovered there was a 2 1/2 mile walk to either tube station (especially with luggage!) and they were late getting our room sorted. Dirty teaspoons also!
Review 115:The hotel itself is lovely and the room was very homely. It was great the bar stayed open late for residents too.
Review 116:Excellent service, food, staff, but best of all an extremely clean and comfortable large room, great king? size bed and shower over bath with lots of hot water
Review 117:I did have a problem with the first night of my stay in that the room (above reception) was very noisy from the automatic door continually opening into the night. However staff could not have been more helpful and i was moved for the next night
Review 118:Clean and spacious, usually good parking!
Review 119:The price of breakfast is unreasonable at nearly £14. Clearly they hope that by pre authorising an extra £30 on check in you'll just think why not, I've already paid!?
Review 120:The room was spacious & the bed huge, although a little on the hard side. Good value for London, although if you want breakfast add £14 a head! Well located near to a tube station 20 mins walk.
Review 121:Flat southern beer. They still need northerners to teach those in the south how to look after a good pint of bitter
Review 122:Clean comfy and well equipped rooms, ours even had air con - a nice bonus after a 5 hour car journey. Very friendly local patrons
Review 123:Declined breakfast on Sunday as finished at 10am ( a bit early for us) and was also quite expensive.
Review 124:Clean room, Bathroom toiletries lovely. Staff very helpful. Great price
Review 125:We were not expecting much this close to the airport, but we had an early morning flight and it looked better than the large chain hotels. It was much better! One last night of British history to top off our trip, with a large well-appointed room and tasty meal in the restaurant. Easy a.m. drive to Heathrow.
Review 126:Ground Floor Room not as good as First Floor. Got woken up at 2am by someone knocking on next door room and then could hear laughing and loud voices.
Review 127:Location, Parking, Staff, Clean Room.
Review 128:Shower/bath controls, lack of air extraction in bathroom causing tiled floor to be a hazard after having a shower
Review 129:Comfortable bed, tea making facilities and mugs instead of small cups. Good location. 24 hour reception
Review 130:Room was smallish but well maintained.
Review 131:Restaurant was very good, bar good. Overall facilities were very good, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful.
The Fine Print
