Reviews for Bed and breakfast Villa Dobravac

Review 1:nothing. Only the smell in the toilet is a little annoying, but it improved a few days after.

Review 2:excellent location, quiet but very close to the town, Big and clean room, and wifi is very stable. The staffs are very nice, hospitable and helpful, introducing us fabulous restaurants and sightseeing spots. They are also winemakers and vegetable sellers, providing great food and wine.

Review 3:Felt the presence of the parking lot, produce stand, wine production took away from views while having breakfast, sitting on balcony, or sitting in lovely chairs on lawn. A fence with plantings would be preferred.

Review 4:Rooms were large, beds comfortable, bathroom excellent.Good breakfast.nice view of Rovinj from upper floor room.walking distance to city center.

Review 5:We booked this room partly because it had air conditioning and the weather was still quite warm. However, the A/C was turned off in the rooms to better cool the Villa's wine production. When we inquired, we were told by the owner that the guests would "just have to suffer".

Review 6:If you don't want to stay in old town Rovinj, this location is perfect. It is within walking distance, and has a lovely view of the the city. The room was very nice and extremely quiet. Everyone was quite friendly and helpful regarding recommendations and directions. There is a very good restaurant nearby.

Review 7:Wonderful location for access to the old town, and a delightful retreat from the business of the old town where we could enjoy the delicious wine, olive oil and produce that is grown and made by the family on their property. We also enjoyed the warmth and graciousness of the staff. Our room was lovely and comfortable with a balcony and a view. We enjoyed everything about our stay.

Review 8:Villa Dobravac is certainly an exceptional place to stay. Our room was modern, spacious and with an amazing view of Rovinj just down the hill. Natalia, the owner is an amazing lady with a very warm personality. Karen and the rest of the staff are lovely people who will care to make your stay unforgettable. There is a large selection of choice for breakfast, with fresh eggs to order. Unfortunately I had picked up a nasty bronchial infection on a cruise the previous week, and the staff arranged a doctor's visit for me and generally looked after all my needs. This is a very special place to stay.

Review 9:This B & B is in an ideal location! It is easy to drive to with on-site parking and only a 10-12 minute walk to the Old Town. It is a beautiful property with a very friendly staff. Breakfast was wonderful. Fun to sample wine which is made at the Villa.

Review 10:A sewer odor filled the bathroom if window and door were closed; kitchen needs lighting under cabinets- impossible to use kitchen or living room after dark; need more complete kitchen tools, such as spatula, whisk, other cooking tools. Awkward furniture arrangement in bedroom that would be improved by moving desk to wall with low ceiling under windows.

Review 11:Spotlessly clean, spacious, beautiful view of ocean and old town from lovely balcony, quiet, easy walk into town, good breakfast, lovely owner and staff.

Review 12:no coffee in room so you have to wait until breakfast opens. no biggie but sort of a pain for coffee lovers that get up earlier. also, sad we could not have a wine tasting. they are too busy.

Review 13:i liked the little farmers market stand out front and the fresh food they served at breakfast.

Review 14:The ferry back to Trieste was cancelled without any notice (not the Hotel's fault).

Review 15:We loved everything, lovely hotel, wonderful people, family-run, fantastic wine-tasting, all!

Review 16:beds ok, owner too busy too fool with us. not able to do wine tasting. need to have coffe in room or available early

Review 17:out of town a bit and nice room and nice view

Review 18:Very helpful hostess and attentive and friendly staff. All the qualities you would find in a smart boutique hotel, but friendly personal attention. Lots of fresh breakfast items to choose from

Review 19:That we weren't able to stay here longer.

Review 20:Excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable staff and owners. It wasn't just a job for them, it's what they put their heart into. Breakfast options were outstanding with fresh produce from the owners farm and garden. The view from the rooms were amazing.

Review 21:Wonderful service, even though there was only one person on staff who was taking care of both the front desk and the bar. We had to leave too early for breakfast, but they packed us huge box lunches!

Review 22:Again, we stayed here as a young couple finishing up a backpacking trip. I'm not sure if it was just because we were younger than most guests and a little disheveled, but I felt a distinct lack of warmth compared to other places we stayed in Croatia. Also, the hotel website advertises the "chance to taste the family's wine and olive oil." We were excited about this, but note that: (1) you must pay for this and (2) you must reserve the tasting. We did not find that this was clearly advertised, and were treated pretty rudely when we asked about this. I don't seek to dissuade anyone from staying here. If a hotel is what you want, then you can't go wrong here; you get a lot for the price (and our experience with the slight rudeness may not be typical). But when I return to Croatia, I will try to stay only in apartments. These are abundant in Croatia, and provide a very different experience that was very appealing to us (you are generally treated like an honored guest and the host(s) will go out of their way to recommend places to eat or sights to see).

Review 23:This is a great place overall, especially if you are looking for a hotel-type place rather than a more personal accommodation like an apartment or bed and breakfast. In other cities in Croatia and throughout Europe, my girlfriend and I stayed in apartments and we were overwhelmed by the warmth and personal touch. I found that lacking here, and so my experience was colored by this contrast. Still, this is a very very nice place and I think its a great option for any traveler who wants a hotel-style accommodation in Rovinj. Some positives: Location overlooking Rovinj and Adriatic is wonderful. Room was spacious, clean, beautiful, and had a balcony facing the city. The style of of the place is simple yet elegant. Parking and breakfast are included. Breakfast is delicious and can be enjoyed in a beautiful indoor dining area or on a patio with a great view

Review 24:Hotel Dobravac was ideally situated just a short walk from the centre of Rovinj. Car parking was essential. The rooms were large and well furnished. The owner/operator was very welcoming and joined in discussing her business over a glass of her fabulous wine.

Review 25:The hotel is just outside of town an easy walk down the hill and we took a quick cab ride back up, or drive the short distance down the hill to just outside the city and there is a pay parking lot. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. Free parking for guests.

Review 26:Modern room and hotel with lovely panorama. Try to imagine beutiful hotel in the background. You are sitting behind the hotel in the garden. Looking night panorama of old Rovinj city and drinking perfect Fuga wine with your partner. Try it!

Review 27:This charming boutique hotel belongs to a family of wine growers & farmers. One of the delights of your stay is to enjoy a tasting of their wines led by their charming sommelier Karin. She is wonderful & a source of very useful information about places to see & dine in old town Rovinj. The rooms are modern, roomy, well appointed. Wonderful choice for breakfast including food grown on their own farm

Review 28:None

Review 29:The house is really great and room is well furnished. I travelled with my mom and she said this hotel was the one of the best hotels she has ever stayed throughout whole Croatia trip. My mom wanted to make rice so we asked to the owener lady and she allowed us to use their kitchen.

Review 30:Amazing wine produced by them that costs about £2 a glass! The wine pairing they do is fantastic and the Sommelier is one of the best in Croatia. Close to the centre of Rovinj. Really clean quite luxurious place with a family feel. Very tasty breakfast. Most of their fruit and veg is grown by them. Everything is the best quality produce.

Review 31:Everything was perfect except the weather...

Review 32:Peaceful, but close to restaurants, seaside and old town. Lovely, large rooms with a balcony and view of the Adriatic. The staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful!

Review 33:The staff was wonderful and accommodating. We had a view of the ocean from our room and could easily walk into town in an enjoyable five minutes without having to move our easily parked car. They gave us great suggestions for sightseeing and dinner, too.

Review 34:There was nothing not to like

Review 35:Delightful surprise....... much more than we expected Had everything .... Spotless, lovely verandah for relaxing, bar lounge and local wines .... spacious grounds xmd views to the harbour.... 4 mind walk away

Review 36:Great location and super helpful staff. Family owned...and the same family operates a farm, produce market, olive oil business, and wine making business. The wine and olive oil are excellent. The rooms were very comfortable and well kept....the rooms were renovated in the past year or two.

Review 37:Breakfast - previous reviews had raised expectations. It was ok ( frit was fantastic) but otherwise quite plain

Review 38:Location - very close to town centre. Strong smell of fish, I assume from nearby factory, was not pleasant Room - very modern room, although it did have Mosquitos ( electric Mosquito plug in was disconnected by cleaners while we were out). Also a centipede like insect was on floor and next day on wall.

Review 39:That we had to leave.

Review 40:This place is within a 10-minute walk to downtown Rovinj and has first-class accommodations. The staff is most helpful in making you feel at home and the time spent in the wine bar is comforting with high-quality choices. The bar spills out onto a gorgeous patio with beautiful views.

Review 41:Our room was a little small, but that is what we had paid for. There are larger rooms in the hotel. Also our window was on the side of a road and sometimes you could hear a little noise if you were in the bathroom. It did not disturb our sleep.

Review 42:We really appreciated how helpful and kind the staff was. The hotel was very nicely kept, and we especially liked the breakfast area and the parking on site. The fresh fruits and vegetables at breakfast from the farm of the family that owns the hotel was a bonus. There were also good pastries and the nice variety. We thought our bathroom was comfortable and especially nice as well.

Review 43:Location is a bit far from old town. Need to walk up the road for over 15 min. back apartment at night.

Review 44:Nice and comfort apartment with spacious room. Fresh and nice breakfast provided.

Review 45:problems with adequate hot water no elevator

Review 46:large room and bath(modern and well appointed) good a/c, climate control great breakfast on the front porch country-like setting easy walk into town quiet area accomodationg, friendly staff wine bar (owners make their own wine)

Review 47:Nothing

Review 48:We had a lovely large room with balcony overlooking the old town which was only a short walk away. The owner and staff were realy friendly and gave us good information on where to eat locally as well as in the old town. One of the best meals we had was the sliced beef on a bed of rocket and Parmesan at the Konoba Jure, about ten minutes walk away. They also gave us good info on what to see in the area along with practical info on where to park how to get there etc. We enjoyed walking around the pine forest and swimming in that area. We enjoyed Motovun and Groznajan in the mountains and we enjoyed the trip to Brijuni Island. Overall an excellent holiday and lovely small and friendly hotel with good breakfast and nice gardens to sit in at the end of the day.

Review 49:A bit far to walk to old town (about 20 minutes).

Review 50:Very welcoming helpful hostess, Natalina. Spacious comfortable clean room with balcony, large bathroom with new fixtures, shower and sink. Plentiful continental breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Villa is on a hillside with partial view of harbor and church bell tower. Beautiful garden, olive trees. The owner, Mr. Dobravac makes wine and olive oil on premises and has a fresh produce stand just in front of the villa. Great wi-fi and satellite TV.

Review 51:A bit tricky to find as it is on a small side road away from the main road into Rovinj. Make sure you have good directions!

Review 52:Only a short walk away from Old Town. The owner was extremely gracious and helpful. We were checking out and did not think we would have time for our included breakfast, but she made sure we were welcome to it--the spread was quite substantial and delicious! Parking for guests with cars is on the property and the hotel's parking policy is flexible and reasonable. The room was spacious with new furnishings.

Review 53:Unfortunately, there was a very strong odour coming from the drains in the bathroom; when we mentioned this to the staff member who had checked us in, we were simply told it was because of the rain (it had been raining very heavily prior to our arrival) and that "it would go away when the rains stopped". The odour became stronger throughout the night and became very unpleasant, even with the windows open making it very uncomfortable and we were close to seriously considering leaving. However, when the rain stopped and the sun returned, the odour did eventually disappear the following day.

Review 54:Ideally located away from the heart of a bustling (noisy) town but within easy walking distance and great views from the balcony we had the best of both worlds. Large room with kitchen and living area on lower level, bedroom and bathroom upstairs had quality fittings and finishes of the room which made us feel like we were staying somewhere special. Staff were very helpful and owner made us feel very welcome.

Review 55:Great location, just a short walk from the town centre. The staff were super friendly and gave us lots of advice on the local area. Very clean and modern rooms. Lovely breakfast with fresh produces from the families farm. They also have a vineyard and sell their wine in the bar (which opened the day we left!), we did manage to try the wine and even bought two bottles home (sacrificing some of our very small luggage allowance). Highly recommend this accomodation!

Review 56:Coffee could be hotter but thats a small complaint

Review 57:Beautiful hotel in a perfect location 10 min walk from the town centre. Nataline is very helpful and passionate about her hotel and the wine and olive oil which her family produse and sell at a shop near the hotel entrance. Room was excellent - spacious and comfartable. Breakfact on the terrace was magical

Review 58:Cetral switch of the airconditioning was turned off 1 or 2 times. Therefore it was not possible to turn the airco on when I wanted. Other than that is was a perfect stay.

Review 59:Super location, just outside the busy center. Really nice outside breakfast with fresh fruit from their own crop. Nice renovated room with good beds and plenty of space.

Review 60:Our room did only have a narrow balcony and no balcony furniture.

Review 61:Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. We got some very good restaurant recommendations and some other recommendations. The hotel is located on a hill appr 10 min walk from the old town. The view is great from the rooms on the 2nd floor. Great breakfast buffet!

Review 62:We had to leave.

Review 63:Vila Dobravac was the best place we stayed in during our 4 week trip to Croatia & Turkey. The room was huge with modern fittings. The selection of wine made on the property was excellent.

Review 64:Very large and well appointed room with wonderful view over Rovinj. Car parking a bonus.

Review 83:Beware of the mosquitos at dusk!

Review 84:Great service, great wine and nibbles.

Review 85:Not much choice of wines at their newly opened wine bar

Review 86:Perfect location, tastefully decorated, very nice bathroom, peaceful surroundings

Review 87:The staff were very helpful & friendly

Review 88:Staff couldn't be more helpful. Beautiful views and great location.

Review 89:Everything was great, service, breakfast, location, room.Look forward too the new Tapas bar.

Review 90:The room is nice and the breakfast is delicious. The host creates a very relaxing atmosphere here.

Review 91:The very friendly and helpful staff, very good wine, lovely room and view, plentiful and fresh breakfast all in a convenient location.

Review 92:I didn't see a swimming area close to this bed and breakfast which is definitely not deal breaker when staying here.

Review 93:Out of all the hotels we stayed in Croatia, this was the best. We had a beautiful room with a view of Rovinj. When we go back, I would easily spend 4 to 5 days here just relaxing. The price as compared to other hotels is a great value.

Review 94:Not far from bus station, but I would take a taxi the first time. Alittle difficult to find. No problem thereafter.

Review 95:The room was top rate. Very spacious and comfortable. Staff gave goodsuggestions which I took advantage of.

Review 96:Owner very helpful & honest with her information. Quiet location close to centre. Great breakfast. Recommend the Boskit restaurant across the road.

Review 97:About 10 minutes walk from the centre of Rovinj, with an beautiful view of the city. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was very good.

Review 98:There was nothing to dislike other than not staying for longer than the 2 nights we booked.

Review 99:Spacious, modern, comfortable and very clean rooms in a quiet location about 10 minutes walk from town. We really appreciated the black out shutters for a great night's sleep. Continental breakfast was very good. The family owners and staff were all polite and helpful.

Review 100:There is absolutely nothing not to like.

Review 101:Serene and laid back atmosphere. Nothing too much trouble for the charming staff. Extremely comfortable and simply and tastefully decorated throughout. Large bedroom and bathroom and good balcony. A gem.

Review 102:The entire atmosphere of feeling at home. Breakfasts were top notch, the owner and staff were very helpful with directions/suggestions on where to dine out, and the room was both tastefully designed and functional.

Review 103:Everything was simply perfect! Delicious breakfast buffet with lots of fresh fruits, rooms have a nice modern interior design, great wine and olive oil, and above all Natalina ensured we had a great stay by recommending us the best restaurants and activities in the area.

Review 104:Location and car parking fantastic. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served in delightful surroundings. Nice to be able to buy and try some of Natalina's wine.

Review 105:We arrived, along with another couple, in the dining room for an early breakfast - but within the times stated - yet it looked as if breakfast was still being set out so we had very limited choice of food. By the time we finished breakfast, many more dishes and pastries had arrived. Disappointing.

Review 106:The small, owner run nature of the hotel. The beautiful views over the town. The beautiful room with balcony that we had been allocated.

Review 107:The host lady is very nice and helpful. Around 10 minutes walk to the city center but easy. Tge breakfast is very good and also is the seafood dinner not far from the b&b.

Review 108:We had the penthouse apartment. Apparently the property is on a septic system because you could certainly smell it when the majority of guests were using the bathrooms. Keeping the bathroom door closed during the day kept the smell from permeating the rest of the otherwise perfect room.

Review 109:The location could not have been any better for the event we were attending. The facilities are beautiful with attentive staff. It was obvious that the owners are investing some time and money on the property. There is plenty of parking.

Review 110:No "room service"-esque options. We requested a sea view room but the view was pretty limited - our room only had a tiny balcony with no place to sit.

Review 111:Great location, less than 10 min walk into the old town. Big rooms, very comfortable. Fantastic wine on site. Nice breakfast.

Review 112:The bathroom in one of the suites had a strong sewer Odor. We did get adiscount for the problem though.

Review 113:Natalina the owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Just a great andhard working person. Always concerned about her guests comfort.

Review 114:This was a highlight of our Croatian vacation. Our room was large, beautifully furnished and the bathroom second to none. We also enjoyed the lovely patio off our room. The breakfast room and ground floor patio provided the perfect setting to enjoy all the fresh offerings at breakfast. We enjoyed watching all the locals arrive to purchase fresh produce and wine at their stand adjacent to the guest house.

Review 115:Nothing. Perfect stay. Exceeded our expectations.

Review 116:Warm welcome and attentive service. Comfortable, well appointed rooms. Excellent and varied breakfast with home grown vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses, yogurt and eggs prepared to order. Delicious bread and coffee. Wonderful suggestions for restaurants, excursions.
