Reviews for Creta Hotel
Review 1:Pleasant enough hotel but disappointing view. The advertising implied brilliant ocean views. I requested views and would not have booked if I knew that the apartment was at road level with virtually no view.
Review 2:The apartment was roomy and within walking distance of Ag Nick. Interesting town to visit - spectacular double port.
Review 3:Very friendly welcome from Bernadette, felt relaxed right away. The room was more like an apartment with a spacious balcony with the most beautiful view of the sea and the cruise ships. The rooms were so clean, they clearly work hard to keep up the standard. It was a quiet area but only a short walk to the beach or into town. We wail be back for sure!
Review 4:Perfect location, with the city centre just down the stairs (in the beautiful Agios Nikolaos); very nice staff; great price for a easy-going, clean and comfortable room!
Review 5:Absolutely no complaints about this hotel
Review 6:Super clean. Gorgeous location. Quiet but near beaches/bars/restaurants. Beautiful views. Friendly staff. 10/10
Review 7:We stayed 3 night and each one of them we had troubles with the hot water of the shower. The first two evenings we had to ask for hot water and once prompted it arrived. The third night we asked before entering the room if everything was fine and finally gave up and did a warm/cold shower. It's a shame because everything else was fine!
Review 8:The owner of the hotel was lovely and cozy
Review 9:The rooms were extremely outdated. And the hotel smelled a little like smoke. While not uncommon in Greece, it was still a deterrent. The wall colors were atrocious. The place very likely hasn't been updated since the 80's
Review 10:Free wifi was great! The rooms and balcony were huge!
Review 11:The position was super. The owner and staff were so helpful and friendly. The view of the sunrise from our balcony was breath taking. The ascent to the Hotel is quite steep
Review 12:Pokey, and noise from other guests coming home late at night woke us. No view, which was unfortunate.
Review 13:The owner is very helpful. The kind of person that makes a difference.
Review 14:The location of Hotel Creta at Agios Nikolaos was great with a twominute walk down the stairs to a lovely clear beach surrounded by lotsof good taverna'S.The family and staff at Hotel Creta were very friendly and spoke english which was great for my wife and I from New Zealand. The owner even dropped the two of us and our suitcases down to the bus station at 6:30am on the morning when we left Agios Nikolaos to catch the ferry from Heraklion to Santorini. There were lots of nice shops and places to eat within 5 to 10 minutes walk around the port area to the centre of Agios Nicholas one restaurant we would recommend is Ble KATSAROLAKIA @ 8 Akti losif Koundouroa St You catch a lift up two floors from the street and the balcony overlooks the port and lake area, the food is delicious served by friendly staff and doesn't cost a fortune. We ate there twice during our week in Agios Nikolaos tOur lamb, chicken and pork meals were accompanied with a very nice house red wine and follwed up with complimentary Raki.
Review 15:Water took a while to run hot, otherwise no complaints
Review 16:Loved the fold-out ironing board, balcony was good for drying clothes. Good selection of secondhand books, location very central, between beach & harbour, all kitchen facilities, having elevator was good!
Review 17:It was March and was quite cold weather and although there was a heater in the air conditioning unit, we were quite chilly and needed the extra blankets at night. (We're spoilt with central heating in the UK!)
Review 18:Bernadette and Michalis were such fabulous and friendly people. They were so considerate towards us. Parking was never a problem because they always saved us a space right outside! Very clean room. Huge balcony - room 304. Towels, soap & handwash, teatowels, extra blankets, hairdryer, electric kettle, microwave, grill and even lemon / orange squeezer provided as well as all the usual basic kitchenette equipment. Very good WiFi.
Review 19:In the kitchen the absence of small items such as washing-up liquid and salt, pepper etc. The hilly area of the location..
Review 20:The friendliness of the staff. The sea view from the balcony. The comfortable spacious apartment. The proximity to the town centre and the small beach. The quietness of the location.
Review 21:no major dislikes. But could do with brush and pan in the room for self use after coming off the beach.
Review 22:hospitable hostess Bernadette.nothing was to much trouble. All reception staff the same, could not do enough for you.The lift was very modern and a older travellers would appreciate this.
Review 23:It's close enough to the beach / port so they're both a short walk including several flights of stairs, and far enough so the noise isn't an issue. Got some fantastic sunrise shots from the balcony, the sun rises over the ocean straight onto it. Good sized, clean rooms. Very helpful staff.
Review 24:At the check-out the owner wanted us to pay more than the amount accorded in Booking.com. And only because in one apartment for max 4 people we've been in 2. Amazing.
Review 25:Position
Review 26:AC device in our room was loud. You could turn it of and sleep in the heat or not sleep at all. It is difficoult to find a parking spot near the hotel in the case of the harbour parking beeing closed.
Review 27:The hotel is close to the City Center. The Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 28:Very friendly staff Very spacious room with the biggest balcony ever! Had self catering facilities (fridge, oven, microwave oven, iron) 5 minutes from city center
Review 29:If I had to pick something it would be that for some reason there was no hook to hang the shower head on so you had to hold the shower up yourself. Got used to doing that very quickly though, so really only a very minor issue.
Review 30:The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful. They even gave us a lift to the bus station when we were leaving. Hotel is relatively cheap, but clean, comfortable and quiet but in a central location - all the things we look for. Would happily return!
Review 31:Great view - 3rd floor
Review 32:Lovely host always with a smile. Fantastic location overlooking harbour area.
Review 33:The location
Review 34:Staff were helpful
Review 35:Fantastic central position and staff ready to over service your every need. Huge apartment. Excellent value.
Review 36:Very nice and helpfull staff. Short way to the beach. Nice wiev. Very little noice from the streets.
Review 37:Nothing.
Review 38:Great location, nice staff. Large room with large balcony with great sea view.
Review 39:Nothing
Review 40:Kind and friendly staff
Review 41:Exactly what we wanted from a hotel to stay one night in Heraklion
Review 42:Functional but overpriced for the quality of the rooms and facility
Review 43:Staff location
Review 44:Friendly staff and great accommodation.
Review 45:Once again location and how accommodating the staff was - will certainly come back and recommend!
Review 46:Very uncomfortable bed. We asked for 1x double bed and we were given 2 single joint beds..
Review 47:Balcony view
Review 48:Very dirty, no parking, rooms smelt very awful, no water for shower
Review 49:Nothing at all
Review 50:I think it would be good to have tea/ coffee sachets in the room as there is a great kitchen but arriving very late at night this would have been the icing on the cake.
Review 51:Excellent location Very friendly spacious accomodation
Review 52:The fact that I booked a double room for two plus one for three but when we got there had to pay exstra as the double room had been designated for single use
Review 53:The place is quite difficult to find at first, even with GPS, cause the hotel is located in a labyrinth of narrow streets. Better you leave the car in the big harbour parking and you just walk to find the hotel first. Then, it will be easy to understand how to go in front of the hotel with your car. Apartments located on the sea side of the building are much more nice, so I suggest to pay the difference, it worth.
Review 54:Creta Hotel is located near to the center of Agios Nikolaos in a quiet narrow street just at the back of the harbor. Value for money is excellent and if sometimes you dont want to go restaurant you have a full equipped kitchen to prepare yourself a meal.
Review 55:Parking was scarce, even in the off season. The hotel is in a two way street but it is very narrow and when cars are parked in a solid line down one side there is only room for one car at a time, therefore some creative reversing, etc is needed. Once we had our car parked we walked everywhere, which is easy in the town anyway. Very small tv and no English language channel available to keep us up with the news. A small quibble.
Review 56:Having our own cooking facilities was good and made a change from eating out all the time. The nearest supermarket wasn't the best in town but to get to the others would entail driving, which is not recommended in this town! Narrow streets and not very easy to navigate even with a map. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, saving a space for us outside the hotel. We would return here if we go back to this town.
Review 57:Whole building including my room was full of cigarette smoke as the owner chain smoked in the common parts.
Review 58:Good welcoming and friendly owners and clean.
Review 59:We really enjoyed staying here! Bernadette and her husband are lovely and went beyond to meet our needs, e.g., when I asked about a nearby laundromat, Bernadette offered to do our laundry. When we were leaving, her husband drove us to the bus station. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the location could not be better. Easy walk to a number of shops, restaurants, and beaches, and we had a very large deck overlooking the sea. Just beautiful and relaxing!
Review 60:Bathroom without ventilation, no windows or fan
Review 61:Quiet place, 2 minutes by walk from port and from the nearest beach. New furnitures and everything you need to cook on your own
Review 62:The place simply did not feel clean, a far cry from every where else we stayed in Greece in the same price range. We found a cupcake wrapper and dental floss on the floor when we arrived, and there was dirt in the corners. Plus the air conditioning unit clearly had not been cleaned in years: my husband developed a cough within one hour, which stopped once he turned it off. Agios Nikolaos is not worth the stopover. Eastern Crete in general was a huge disappointment.
Review 63:Hotel owners were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is very central but at the same time calm. Parking in the area is difficult but the owners are able to reserve spaces directly outside hotel which was a bonus in this town. We had a one bedroom apartment with balcony and sea view which exceeded our expectations and was excellent value for money. The hotel was very clean with sheets and towels changed every other day. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Review 64:To far to walk with your luggage from the bus station, you will need a taxi.
Review 65:Clean. Value priced. Friendly staff. A bit away for the really touristy areas. Breakfast served in room was 5 euros and huge. Short walk to dining and beach.
Review 66:Superb elevated position equi-distant between the main town of Agios Nikolaus and the town beach with the port for boats to Spinalonga only two minutes away. Very helpful owners with good eating recommendations for quality Greek cuisine away from the Ag Nik tourist traps.
Review 67:Super friendly staff, lovely lady at reception. Even kept parking space for us in the street. Great location in the centre of Agios Nikolaos, a few steps from the harbour. Lovely clean room with large bathroom inc tub and a kitchenette if needed. View of the island Agii Pantes. We only stayed here one night while travelling around Crete, but Agios Nikolaos is a wonderful place and we will no doubt be back and will stay here again. It can be a bit awkward to find initially with one way winding streets - use a map, not sat nav.
Review 68:Option on breakfast to be more readily available (but i suppose it was off season).
Review 69:The actual human touch of the staff. On hand to help and very good in terms of informarion.
Review 70:nerves of steel required to drive to it. the traveling fun fair on the sea front blasted out loud music all evening and kept us awake.
Review 71:fairly good sea view, located close to town centre, good size apartment.
Review 72:Spacious, clean room. Great sea view. Properly equipped kitchenette. Working (!) shower curtain. Friendly owner, friendly staff.
Review 73:Staff so friendly and welcoming
Review 74:Slow Wi-Fi.
Review 75:Touching staff, high quality service, nice kitchen that accomodates all necessary appliances and tranquil beach with crystal water.
Review 76:Nothing!
Review 77:The location of the hotel, close to centre, yet quiet, and lovely sea view

Review 80:Great location. Large, comfortable and clean room. Friendly staff

Review 82:confort, kindless, price, location
Review 83:Perfect location! Excellent staff!
Review 84:Location is a bit difficult to access. Must precede phone call to get directions.
