Reviews for Elysium Resort & Spa

Review 1:There was nobody to turn me from side to side on the sun lounger, had to do it by myself! Don't remember any other issues.

Review 2:We prefer calm and smooth recreation and that is what we have found at Elysium. Staff is very decent, forming a great sense of place. Maybe because of low season (mid october) there was no noisy animations. Yoga in the morning and live jazz in the evening. Breakfast is almost the same every morning but is pretty various, no chance to try everything in a week. Restaurants are fine, we preferred dinner served on our room's balcony with sea view. These evenings were great, thanks to stuff again! If you want to travel across the island (you must actually), rent a car or use a bus (station is right at the entrance), not that much within a walk radius. WiFi is working everywhere, even on the beach. Sea is great and the beach is fit out fine. Great Rhodes, great hotel. We will be back for sure!

Review 3:Beach bar really dark at night need a few more lights!! Light switches in room very confusing too many and never knew what would turn off or on.

Review 4:Food great at all locations in hotel, huge pool , friendly staff, on the beach, good on site shop

Review 5:The hotel is just wonderful. Everything is very clean, and the stuff are very nice and welcome. The pool is huge, the food in the restaurants is delicious, and they are willing to answer any question and help you in any matter. We were in the elite club - you can have drinks, coffee and snacks all day long, a breakfast which contains everything you can think about, in a coffee place located at a panoramic roof with sea view. Because we were on our Honeymoon we got wine in our room and room service with champagne and deserts, all with no extra charge. We want to thank the hotel and stuff for a great time, David and Orel Dentelski.

Review 6:Main issue we had is that we got a connected twin bed instead of double bed - although we are a couple. Hotel didn't offer any alternative.

Review 7:Excellent hotel and facilities.

Review 8:Expensive after caculating the food and drinks. Drinks are not included in the Halfboard option (nothing).

Review 9:Excellent variety of food. Large swimming pool. Very friendly staff. Wifi everywhere.

Review 10:Bath towels could have been softer, complimentary drinking water should have been served at bars

Review 11:Hotel is absolute luxury - beautiful pool, tennis court, private and undisturbed beach (pebble, not sand), three restaurants including superb buffet breakfast. Strong wifi throughout resort. Tranquility throughout my stay, staff could not be more helpful

Review 12:When it rained our room was a bit flooded from the window part...and there was one evening that there was no hot water for a couple of hours only late at night, and I do think that 30 euro per person for dinner is too much... I would also recommend having a brochoure or 2 about interesting things to do around the hotel, especially the Oasis/Nicholas beach right next to the hotel

Review 13:The hotel is great, the staff is amazing, facilities are great, and very good location.

Review 14:Room service level of the food is not good. Dinner at the emerald restaurant has lots of selection but doesn't taste good at all. It's also a shame that after paying so much for a hotel, you need to add extra money for drinks at dinner. I also think that our room (elite one bedroom deluxe ) was AMAZING, but should definitely not cost so much (430euros a night ) . Children facilities should be added to make this hotel perfect.

Review 15:Loved the elite breakfast on the roof. Loved the pool, it is massive and beautiful and you don't feel crowded. Beach is nice too, very very clear waters, though the sand is hard to step on. Staff is super nice.

Review 16:My stay was too short! Wish I had a month to spend in this place!

Review 17:In Greek mythology the "Elysium" was a place where tired souls went for rest, serenity and relaxation! This place really fits the tab! They have a modest rate and they do not nickle and dime you like most other places! You will definitely enjoy an experience of a lifetime! Well done Elysium! Bravisimo!

Review 18:I wish the had a bit more of activities, such as music at the swiming pool. However this is a family resort and thereby the quietness is also appreciate it. The TV options were rather poor... when you travel with a family TV is good to finish the day in the rooms

Review 19:The place is fantastic really worthwhile going. the staff is very friendly and really accommodating. In particular management was extremely helpful and the service staff at the restaurants was excellent. Notice that when it comes to eat at the restaurants the cost is very competitive with eating anywhere outside in the tourist areas.

Review 20:We had two single beds made into a double bed which left a gap -- not ideal

Review 21:Beautiful facilities, excellent breakfast, staff were always happy to help e.g. with maintenance and cleaning requests

Review 22:The sea next to the hotel is full of toxic plants that leave on the nearby rocks! When needed a doctor for a toxic skin reaction the receptinist called a cardiologist fow which we had to pay 130euros though he could not really help due to lack of expertise...

Review 23:People in the beach bar extremely nice, professional and helpful. Very good condition of the swimming pool and a very professional liveguard.

Review 24:Everything was great

Review 25:The staff was excellent and very helpful. The restaurant had a great variety of food all warm and constantly brought new trays. The room was amazing with a wonderful view. We were given an extra 2 hour stay when asking for a late check out without extra charge. The spa was also amazing and very relaxing. Overall a hotel worth paying for till the last euro

Review 26:Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Review 27:Everything was perfect. 7 (not 5) star service and facilities. I fully recommend it for everyone. Fantastic and very friendly staff.

Review 28:the location is a bit off the center.. It's ..15 euros and takes 20 min to get there

Review 29:Nice rooms, great view, nice pool, dinner @ emerald was great.. Musical show was fun :)

Review 30:It was gorgeous. Right on the water with cabanas on the beach and plenty of room by the pool. Food is great, staff is fabulous and they do everything possible to make your stay amazing. We got upgraded to a suite with a jacuzzi because it was our honeymoon. When we walked in our room there was champagne, desserts, our bed decorated, rose petals everywhere, etc. It was just incredible. The staff pays very good attention to everything. SPA was fantastic and gym was great too.

Review 31:Struggling, genuinely can't think of anything other than bar closes at 1am.

Review 32:Honestly, this place is amazing from the room, food, staff, location, facilities. Everything was perfect. We hope to go back as soon as possible

Review 33:Very friendly staff, reception willing to help with any matter, found us suitable 3 rooms nearby, great swimming pool and proximity to the sea. Entertainment area is located on the side so those who want to sleep they sleep.

Review 34:The wifi once again should be with one pass and not with codes so you had to login again and again and again, also at poor speed all day below 5 Mbps ! Pool and sea towel rule with card and 15 euro guarantee when you pay a suite i found it little dump , Room service very expensive and with no much to offer, also the store in hotel unreasonably expensive

Review 35:Nice pool, the sea in your feet, new facilities, excellent staff from receptionists to all! A must hotel for staying anytime

Review 36:The room service was a bit expensive but worth it, very fast, and very good.

Review 37:It was amazing great breakfast, great staff, quick answers for everything, great rooms, loved it.

Review 38:very cool reception with the exception of one staff who was helpful and friendly; buffet dinner way really so-so and very overpriced compared to the really excellent restaurants we found in the old Rhodes (Taman and El Toro Steak House).

Review 39:enjoyed the pool and beach facilities; exercise classes were good; room was great; very good breakfast; you need a car to get to the old city of Rhodes

Review 40:We had to change rooms, due to very noisy neighbours. We were upgradedto a supposed superior room. We were left to move everything ourselves, which took 4 trips for my husband and I. The reception manager was awarethat I am a dialysis patient, having had treatment that day. We shouldhave had help to move rooms. Definately not the service from a 5 starhotel. The situation was handled very poorly. The room that we weretransferred to was not as nice as our original room. The airconditioning was very noisy, especially through the night. The bathroomand toilet, had an unpleasant smell. ( this was not the case in ourfirst room). Location wise, there are no restaurants or bars of anyquality close by. It's a trip into Rhodes town which costs anywherefrom 30 euros to 45 euros return by taxi.

Review 41:The majority of the staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient.Breakfast, a buffet affair, very good choice and handled veryprofessionally taking into account the amount of residents. We had thesame waiter every morning who was very accommodating and friendly. Therestaurant on the top floor is very good and great value for money. Itis hoping to achieve a michellin star, the food needs to be more refinedand the service to obtain this accolade . The hotel is spotless, gleaming shiny floors. Modern and minimalist decor, maybe a bit tooimpersonal. Very comfortable beds and spacious bedrooms, relaxing decor.Great beach location with terrific pool. The sea is much warmer than thepool, however once you have got over the initial shock of thetemperature of the pool it is very refreshing. The beach bar iswonderful, ice cold beers.....for my husband. There is a verycomfortable lounge area with big white sofas. Very pleasant staff.October is a fantastic time of year to visit Rhodes . 30 degrees everday, but with a slight breeze. Not overcrowded, perfect.

Review 42:If dinner is not included in your booking it is an extra 30 euro per person, a little expensive...

Review 43:The hotel is in a great location, just 10 minutes drive from the city of Rhodes. The rooms were great, the food was fantastaic and offered a wide variety for vegeterians. The staff were polite and helpful and overall we enjoyed ourselves very much.

Review 44:When you are out for holidays you won't wake up in the morning to have your room cleaned anyway when you have a suite you must have your suite clean when you can not only in the morning , no wifi at all in my suite , also poor satellite tv almost unacceptable in 5star suite , complicated system with the lights and also not the best soundproof that I have seen ..

Review 45:Amazing room , fantastic hotel , super big pool , front of the sea , jacuzzi in the room

Review 46:constant smell of sewer outside building staff was indifferent expense of meals at resort with lack of options due to location handprint and smears in elevator not cleaned during our staff (4 days) not up to my opinion of a 5 star resort

Review 47:price was good breakfast was excellent beach was nice

Review 48:Breakfast got very busy. Nowhere within walking distance to eat outside of the resort.

Review 49:Staff was excellent and extremely helpful. The beach and pool were terrific.

Review 50:room basic setbacks: shower not convenient TV isnt facing bed and non adjustable no electricity socket on one side of the bed - must charge phone from the table socket

Review 51:beach breakfast lounge great staff room is luxurious

Review 52:The free wifi was very slow except in the lobby. The pool, grounds and beach were excellent, but the shoreline was a mix of sand and stones that made it uncomfortable getting in and out of the sea.

Review 53:Excellent hotel, great service, well located on the eastern shore of Rhodes Island, and easy bus or taxi ride to Rhodes Town.

Review 54:Only wifi in public areas. It's not close to the city and the buses were constantly full. A solution are the Taxi wich are very fast and not so expensive. (fixed prices to Rhodos and Faliraki)

Review 55:Great staff, the luxery/ state of the complete resort.

Review 56:we had breakfast included. any other meals we had there were expensive, as high as 30 euro per person for dinner. taking a taxi to faliraki and back, dining and drinking there combined was cheaper.

Review 57:the beach, the pool, the room with the sea view. great service.

Review 58:Really bad welcome drink (why do they serve it?), poor cocktail drinks at the beach bar

Review 59:Great location, very convenient and elegant hotel, beautiful beach

Review 60:The guest profile is not so young, so if you prefer a more energetic environment then this is not the hotel for you. But if you prefer calm and relaxing then it is perfect.

Review 61:The location is good, although not much too see at walking distance. But if you rent a car or a scooter, Rhodos has a lot to offer. The hotel is very clean and elegant, the staff is very helpful and the facilities are top notch. The spa is worth a visit as well. Overall, we were very satisfied with Elysium.

Review 62:No Wi-Fi except the lobby.

Review 63:Very quiet and peaceful. The staff are very helpful and cooperative. The breakfast is amazing, rich selection and plenty of everything.

Review 64:had a little blockage in the bathroom, but was repaired immediately bit far from city centre, but not a problem if one has a car

Review 65:beautiful hotel, spacious room, delicious food, free parking, comfy chair at the pool bar, and good music, big swimming pool, kind staff. we spent a great couple days there. would go back any time.

Review 66:Not enough staff available, especially at peak times. Also management seemed to deter the staff efforts at times - by expecting their staff to be in 5 places at the same time. Wi-Fi reception was non-existent in the rooms - unnacceptable in 2014! Some odd and cumbersome rules, ie towel system, not allowed to take away food from the breakfast.

Review 67:Great spaces, amazing pool, one of the best beaches in the island. A great place to spent 9 days, despite some shortcomings, would go again!

Review 68:The worst internet facility in the rooms and the need to log back every time you use it.

Review 69:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast and nice buffet meals.

Review 70:1. Climatisation was not work in first 4 day in room. After a reparation what i ask lot of times, the climatisation start cool the room but it was very noisy. We can decide, sleep in silent swelter or sleep in cold noise. 2. Internet was unusable in room. Cable connection was not work in the room and the staff cant repair it against lot of ask and promises. WIFI was unusable weak in room. 3. There was ants in bedroom and in bathroom. All of this problem i said to hotel staff at arrival day. Because the problems was not solved, i writed all of that in paper and tried to hand over, but guest manager refuse to formally take over. +1 The price of accomodation dont contains the usage of wellness (jacuzzi, sauna, hamman), it cost extra charge.

Review 71:The beach and pools was pretty good. Breakfast was ok, but usually was long queue at fresh orange juice automat.

Review 72:Would advice the hotel management to build a more comfortable entry into the sea - sandy or wooden\concrete

Review 73:Comfortable good fresh and spacious hotel in the end of the long beach. Comfortable sea-looking rooms. Excellent cousine.

Review 74:All great Tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms would have been a bonus.

Review 75:Excellent choice of food and loads of it! Choice of bars/eating places. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, spacious, relaxing surroundings with swimming pool and beach on the door step. Bus Stop for Rhodes Town right outside, although very busy, often standing room only.

Review 76:Wi-Fi connection has problems, almost impossible sometimes to connect on pool area or restaurant area. Staff is not very professional, lots of student working, slow service, often confused when making order, beach service is very, very poor Workers trimming the garden almost every single day while trying to rest by the pool

Review 77:Facility is great, beach is very near, nice pool

Review 78:WiFi signal was poor for a hotel of this standard. Very disappointed. Toiletries were rationed out even though we paid for them, we didn't get shower gels replaced every day. The kids play area was less than basic. Most of the adjoining hotels have far better children play areas. I've stayed in 5 star hotels before and almost everyone had a tea making facilities in the room. The rooms here did not have a kettle or coffee and tea bags provided.

Review 79:Staff were very courteous and attentive. Breakfast and food served were of high standard. Place was extremely clean. Good facilities. Complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch.

Review 80:I had made it clear on 18/7/14 that when I return on the 23/7/14 I wanted 2 single beds in the second room because of 2 teenage boys travelling with us. I was told it was noted and it will be ok, we got a double bed in the second room and when I asked them to change rooms he was not interested to accomodate he said they were all booked out I was not happy.

Review 81:The resort and facilities were great, the rooms were clean and the view from our room was wonderful

Review 82:Wifi not working (new login every 5-10 minutes). This is really not OK for a five star hotel in 2014 and needs to be adressed. They would not give refund for this. Top café closed with no information to the guests. Had to pay 90€ deposit for towels (as if we would steal them).

Review 83:Very good service, friendly and professional staff. Nice rooms, clean and nice wiews. Lovely staff at the beach bar. Professional bartender at the Lobby bar. Well equipped gym. High quality breakfast.

Review 84:The architecture looks bit like a space ship and the interior/exterior are quite austere. Not very warm.

Review 85:The facilities and cleanliness of the hotel are great. The spa is fantastic. Food is good too.

Review 86:WIFI is not available in the rooms. the housekeeping are conservative in terms of soaps and shampoo...

Review 87:excellent staff, friendly, polite, good food, pool is very nice, the whole ambiance is very quite and fancy, dont miss the wonderful SPA experience professional staff (special thanks to LINA, MIKAELIAS and IONNA), crystal bar was worth the experience with the famous YANNIS (thanks Yannis for taking good care of us) the lobby, the balcony, the view, the sea, we stayed at the elite room my wife and i, all went perfect. even the car rental office was very helpful. i would recommend this hotel indeed and i wish i can come back again.

Review 88:Young, inexperienced staff with poor language skills at the reception desk. Priority would always be given to incoming phone calls, even in the middle of a conversation with customers at the counter. The week started with having to pay for the stay - everything in advance. Room with really poor noise reduction. Only placing pillows in front of the door helped to keep traffic noise from the road at a tolerable level. On the balcony facing the sea, very loud sound of music and entertainment from the hotel next door would practically spoil evenings between 9 and 12 P.M. This especially in building no. 3, the one fartherst down. No refill of drinking water in the minibar during the whole week, in a five(?) star hotel! Beds terrible. Request for a twin bed led to having two narrow beds on very slippery wheels in what is called a De Luxe Room. The beds would move around even when just carefully turning sides! Breakfast acceptable, otherwise quality of food and beverages well below a standard to be anticipated in this price category, or whatever category. The list could go on and on. Overall the stay was a great disappointment. Never again and an establishment not to be recommended to anyone. Simply can't understand what the fairly good feedback we were fooled by is based on.

Review 89:At the beach. Big pool. Plenty of sunbeds both on the beach and on the poolside. Well working air conditioning in the room.

Review 90:The friendly, helpful staff and the great breakfasts! Not being phased by our early arrival-sent straight to breakfast!

Review 91:Everything was wonderful!!!

Review 92:Everything was splendid!!!!

Review 93:absence of green trees and shadow from them at the hotel area.

Review 94:Dinners quality and large selection of dishes.

Review 95:not good with small baby, lack of facilities and food selection

Review 96:One morning 7-8 minutes cue in front of breakfast room

Review 97:everything

Review 98:Exellent. The staff was outstanding. The restaurants and the food was very good. After a 10 days stay we recommend this hotel highly.

Review 128:End of season, each day another feature closed, only menu was room service and just a buffet in the evening.

Review 129:Location near the beach. Close to Rhodos town with car. Really good fine dining restaurant (noble).
