Reviews for Carlingford B&B

Review 1:Thought it was a bit misleading to call the B & B Carlingford B & B when its really not that close to Carlingford

Review 2:Very clean comfortable and had a lovely breakfast, proprieter was very nice

Review 3:Fantastic place with wonderful views and great host :) Tasty breakfast .I would describe this B&B as "luxurious"place to stay I highly recommended :) that place

Review 4:Nothing.

Review 5:Fantastic Host, couldnt do enough for us. Cant recommend highly enough! The accommodation standard is way above what we expected and the room was spotlessly clean.

Review 6:There was nothing I could fault

Review 7:Absolutly fantastic stay!! Made to feel at home with the host doing everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. Fantastic spot! Couldn't have been better!

Review 8:Nothing

Review 9:Loved everything, Mark a great host, chatty, interesting and kind. Beautiful house, a most comfortable bed, tastefully decorated. Lovely breakfast, would recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone.

Review 10:NOTHING AT ALL

Review 11:THE PLACE WAS FANTASTIC. BED WAS LARGE AND VERY VERY COMFORTABLE COFFEE MACHINE IN BEDROOM WAS A NICE EXTRA . NOTHING WAS TO MUCH TROUBLE FOR MARK .WILL BE BACK SOON

Review 12:we loved wonderful position of b&b, the room was extremly clean and warmth and beautiful, good breakfast, a pleasant and courteus host, and 2 wonderful dog! So... I think best b&b of this holiday!

Review 13:Mark is a wonderful host! The best way to describe this B&B is "luxurious". My daughter Nikki and I greatly enjoyed getting a chance to spend time with Mark while enjoying a sumptious breakfast. It was the perfect way to end our trip to Ireland.

Review 14:The location, about 10 mins drive from Carlingford town and was too hard to get back to the B&B after our night out.

Review 15:Martin was a great host. very chatty and friendly.

Review 16:The mountain view from the room is beautiful. Mark is very kind and gave us some good advice for having dinner in Carlingford. What we loved more: the room design with parquet floor and the large bathroom with a nice jacuzzi.

Review 17:Mark, the owner, was just so cool! The place is just an oasis, and he have been nice and wanted to help us all the time, after welcoming us with some good wine. After that, his kindness continued to increase, and we were so sorry to leave! :(

Review 18:I stayed here with 2 friends at the weekend and the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. Firstly, the setting is incredible, its off the beaten track, each room offering panoramic views out onto mountain, rolling hills and coastline. This is the perfect weekend getaway. The facilities were first class. Our room featured the most comfortable spacious beds and our ensuite was equipped with a huge rain shower and jacuzzi. The place was immaculatly clean and tidy. It even featured a nespresso machine which was the icing on the cake for a self confessed coffee feind like myself. The wifi access and coverage isn't brilliant but you quikly loose interest in that because this place is the perfect oppertunity to disengage and soak up the atmosphere. All of this would warrant a glowing review but myself and my travel companions were just completly blown away by the owner Mark. Mark has the warmest personality and is the most accommodating and hospitable host I have ever encountered. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and offered a wealth of knowledge about the local area and what to check out. Mark did everything with a smile and jovial attidue and made our stay such a memorable one. His breakfast was top notch too. Our only regret that it was so short! We wish you continued success Mark and will be recommending your little piece of heaven to whom ever will listen to us. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend.

Review 19:Location and poor sinage only we had driving directions we would never have found it. We thought it was nearer to Carlingford

Review 20:The lads were very friendly and advised us on tourist attractions

Review 21:Everything about our stay was perfect. The bed was the best we have slept on in 4 weeks of travel. The recommendations Mark gave us tegarding walks and places to eat enhanced our stay. A wonderful host.

Review 22:Electric shower that took alot of time to warm up and regulate temp. But small thing that didn't get in the way too much.

Review 23:Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was amazing. Beds comfortable.

Review 24:Absolutely nothing. Could not find fault if I tried. The effort made byowner ensures you could not get better service or facilities in thispart of Ireland.

Review 25:Such a tranquil and peaceful location only a short scenic drive from thehustle and bustle of Carlingford.Such a peaceful nights sleep waking tothe birds singing with both sea view and mountain view from the largebed room with every thing provided .Breakfast amazing and hospitalityexceptionally amazing at the competitive price .Do not pass this bed andbreakfast.Would recommend this establishment to everyone visitingCarlingford and the surrounding area from an experienced bed andbreakfast user.

Review 26:This place is fantastic. Mark welcomed us with coffee, tea, and snacks, helped us make evening arrangements and showed us a gorgeous walk to take at the base of the mountain. He helped us navigate a few of our end-of-trip worries about the airport, too. The facilities were wonderful (choose the Mountain View room if you like an awesome shower/jacuzzi or the Bay View for a big space and comfy beds), and breakfast was delicious. I'd come to Carlingford again just to stay here!

Review 27:I can't fault anything.

Review 28:I really can't praise our stay highly enough. The location, the room, the amazing breakfast, but above it all Mark the genial proprietor to whom nothing is too much trouble.

Review 29:Difficult to find Band B in late evening and there was no sign or house number No place to hang coat only in bathroom. only one bedside cabinet. No place to put bags.

Review 30:Mostly everything. Mark was very helpful and welcoming

Review 31:what can I say great host excellent breakfast and and beautiful views from every side absolutely spotless and Lovely B&B thanks for a great stay lads.

Review 32:trying to find the b&b in the dark

Review 33:great breakfasts- keeps you going all day. Can choose time so not forced to comply with house times. Superb big bed

Review 34:The interior was superb. I loved the spell of fresh bed linens and the breakfast. The owner of the B&B was very kind and the location was sorted by giving us a lift to Carlingford. We are definatelly coming back and recommending our friends.

Review 35:Are host Mark was a lovely the room was amazing so spacious and clean the bed was out of this world never slept better..We had breakfast each morning made by Marks lovely son..It was delicious something to suit everyone's tastes..definitely be back!

Review 36:There were shaving hairs left on the sink so obviously not properly cleaned. Also, lack of clothes hanging facilities and no surface for toiletries/ make up in the bathroom.Obviously designed by a man! No TV in the room.

Review 37:The house is in a lovely location with fabulous views. Tastefully decorated with a great ensuite, good shower and a surprise jacuzzi bath. It was good to get a lift in to the village in the evening. The dogs were so cute as well!

Review 38:beautiful views, big comfortable bed, hosts were the perfect blend of helpful, hospitable, friendly yet nowhere near over-bearing. only 10min drive into Carlingford town. host mark offered lifts but we had our own car.

Review 39:Very confortable and nicely decorated house, with the perfect location to wake up and relax in the quiet countryside and just few minutes drive to Carlingford, a pitoresque fishers small vilage where you can find nice restaurants and pubs. A great plus for Mark, a very friendly and caring host who makes your stay just perfect.

Review 40:Could not be faulted There are two dogs, who are so friendly but for those who are frightened of dogs this might not be the ideal place.

Review 41:The service was impeccable and could not be faulted in any way. The house was fabulous, warm and homely. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculate.

Review 42:No mirrors in the rooms apart from bathroom which was too dark to see. A mirror with plug sockets beside would be great so you can do hair and make up

Review 43:Beautiful house, lovely views, lovely food, late breakfast, friendly host

Review 44:slow Wifi but to be expected due to the location

Review 45:Jacuzzi Bath (Heaven) , Decor (elegant & Chic), Views (soul food) , Service (a pleasure), Breakfast (Yummy), The Pet dogs(adorable), Feather Down Quilts (ahhhh) Cozy bedrooms (Zzzz). A real getaway from it all sooo chilled out and relaxing. V quiet. Cant wait to go again.

Review 46:We had some trouble with the TV and heating. But it didn't affect our stay.

Review 47:The B&B is modern, stylish, spotless and really comfortable. The owner Mark went out of his way to make sure that we had a lovely stay: he emailed us in advance of our stay with all the details we needed, did everything he could to ensure that our room was suitable for an asthmatic, he dropped us to Carlingford so that we didn't have to drive, and ensured that we had a breakfast suitable to my dietary requirements (I have IBS). The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in and the B&B is situated with fantastic views. We are hoping to go back again very soon.

Review 48:Fabulous modern b&b with great views. Our host couldn't do enough for us from organising a taxi into town to offering pretty much anything u wanted for breakast and all organic!

Review 49:- Breakfast was made when we were ready - at noon!! No need to drag ourselves out of bed early. - Check out time wasn't fixed - had longer because next guests weren't coming early. - V clear directions, gave us a lift to town and also good insight on where to go and what to do.

Review 50:A little further from town than we expected. But small complaint... I think a few 'B&B' signs on the roads on the way there wouldn't go astray... ;)

Review 51:Sensational in every way. Super comfy beds, late check out, superb breakfast spread, great views, and a very entertaining, interesting and amazingly helpful host in Mark. Mark not only drove out to meet us when we couldn't find the place (last minute booking and no SIM card or GPS) but also picked us up after we did a morning walk across and down to Carlingford, as well as a quick guided tour. WOW!!!! An awesome intro to Ireland (had been in country for just a day) and still our favourite b&b after 3 weeks. If you have the time, plan on a long late breakfast with an interesting discussion on Irish history and in fact any topic you fancy!

Review 52:mark could not do enough to ensure our stay was a very good experience provided us with local knowledge and drove us into the village at night.Breakfast was a leisurely affair and all in all a faultless stay.

Review 53:Mark is an excellent host and the location is to dream about. Wonderful view of Dundalk bay and just a short car ride to Carlingford. Lots of healthy choices for breakfast and friendly atmosphere. A small b&b but well worth visiting, we will be back!

Review 54:It may have been a challenge to locate this B&B, but it was well worth the effort. The scenery is spectacular, especially from the walk up the hill nearby. Mark, the owner, provided great information about local sites and restaurants. The breakfast was from locally sourced and organic ingredients. One of the best B&Bs on our trip.

Review 55:Slightly further out from Carlingford than we expected.

Review 56:Mark very welcoming. Friendliest B&B owner we have come across really made us feel comfortable. Luxurious room and bathroom. Wonderful breakfast!

Review 57:We booked Fáilte last minute and we were so delighted that we did. Even before we got it the car to travel a really friendly email arrived to welcome us. When we arrived Mark was at the door to greet us and made us feel right at home, with tea, coffee and choccy biscuits after our drive. The decor was beautiful and our room was exceptional, of great size, very comfortable bed, fantastic bathroom and the views were superb. Breakfast was probably the best I had in B&B. Mark made sure we had everything we could want and offered a range of times for us to eat which was very appreciated. If you are looking for a B&B to go to Carlingford or Omeath or if you enjoy hill walking or just a night away I can not recommend Fáilte enough!

Review 58:From the outset, we were taken a back by the friendliness of Mark the owner of Failte B&B. His personality and character is ideally suited to the hospitality industry. I would highly recommend a stay at Failte, location, cleanliness, and the craic with mark at breakfast time would go unmatched anywhere.

Review 59:Mark was very welcoming and full of information on the area - some man to chat! The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Location great, views amazing. We couldn't say enough 'good ' things about our visit to Carlingford and our stay with Mark. Top class and top marks all round!

Review 60:my only dislike is that this b and b is a bit of a drive out of carlingford

Review 61:the host mark is such a friendly person.he dropped us in to town and gave us a taxi number to fone when we were ready to go home.nothing is to much trouble for this guy.we were to go for a walk the next morning and mark was going to drive us out to mountain and pick us up again but we had a late night so we didnt bother, instead we sat down to a delicious home cooked breakfast...fab

Review 62:It is a bit out of town

Review 63:Fun, friendly, obliging owner. Dropped us into town, to the start of hill walks, collected us at rendezvous. Brought us to a "hidden" local pub.

Review 64:Location was a bit out of the way, further to the village than i expected.

Review 65:Excellent place to stay, Mark was really helpful and friendly. Top quality, excellent room, great breakfast.

Review 66:A beautifully big house with incredible views of the mountains & the coastline, all within a short distance from Carlingford. Mark the host couldn't be more hospitable, great breakfast & I wouldn't look to stay anywhere else if visiting again! 10 out of 10!

Review 67:Signage would be useful especially for the idjits among us who get ourselves lost in the dark :)

Review 68:The owner could not have been more helpful, from phoning us the day we were due to arrive to get an estimation of our ETA to the follow up call when we had arrived to ensure we were not in a ditch!!. Breakfast was cooked fresh and was delicious.Personal touch was very evident throughout.

Review 70:Had an excellent stay in Failte B&B. Mark was a fantastic host, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very much at home. Spotless room and the whole house was nicely decorated. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Review 71:Booked this b&b because I needed a late check in (22.30) & a lot of b&b's wouldn't accommodate but Mark in Failte b&b said "no problem" he even emailed me directions to the b&b as it's a little off the beaten track! mark greeted myself & partner at the door with a friendly smile & helped us with our luggage. My partner was feeling peckish & asked Mark was there anywhere near to get a bite to eat Mark said lots but your hardly goin back out in that weather! It was lashing out of the heavens so he cooked my partner a beautiful homemade burger accompanied with a side salad & brought it up to our room with 2 bottles of beer, in all the places I've stayed never have we got that treatment so late at night! The house is immaculate, the room was fab so clean with gorgeous views & also had tea & coffee facilities in our room along with still & sparkling bottled water & sky tv! Location is ok as it's only 8k to carlingford & if you wanted to go in for a few drinks Mark offered to run us in & get a taxi home! breakfast was yum! Cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurts, juices & of the course the full fry. Nothing was too much for Mark he even cooked breakfast late for us as I had to be in carlingford for 8.30am for hair & makeup as we were attending a wedding & when I got back at 11.00am he cooked our breakfast! Check out didn't seem to have a slotted time we didn't leave till 12pm, I would definitely stay here again 10 out of 10!

Review 72:Everything was fabulous.

Review 73:The welcome we received was first class. We felt like friends rather than guests. The house is superbly decorated and very comfortable. The king size bed and soft pillows felt sumptuous. We highly recommend this lovely house with great sea and mountain views. Parking at the door.
