Reviews for Hotel Eden
Review 1:We stayed there in January and the hotel was half empty so we had to turn the water on and let it run for about 10 minutes to get hot water. The indoor tennis courts weren't operational.
Review 2:The hotel has a great swimming pool with heated sea water and a nice gym. Overall very nice wellness facilities. Great wi-fi network in the rooms, streamed Netflix movies without a glitch. The location is very nice and quiet, an easy 15-20 minute stroll by the sea to the old town and city center.
Review 3:a bit walking distance from hotel to the parking lot.
Review 4:very good food for breakfast and dinner, gentile personnel of the hotel, very nice city center and walking path of the park close to the hotel.
Review 5:They didn't have our reservation in sistem, so they didn't have a room that we booked. So we get upgrade in presidential suite. Not bad at all :) Staff and everything else was also superb.
Review 6:Parking lot for the hotel guests is located quite far from the hotel. It was very inconvenient for us as I'm pregnant and we have a small boy. Getting to the car required quite an effort. We had ants in our room on the 5th floor! These were everywhere! Although it was not top season one had to wait really long minutes for the lift.
Review 7:The Eden Hotel is located in a beautiful green area. Close to the sea and close to the old town of Rovinj.
Review 8:Restaurant is all buffet style, not very exciting, sort of like a cruise ship. Not bad, but not great.
Review 9:Grounds very nicely landscaped, close to the water.
Review 10:Unfortunately when we arrived after a long car journey we were greeted by a not so inviting staff member who then proceeded to tell us that we had to park 500m from the hotel. After check in we proceeded to our junior suite (as we have 2 teenagers) to find that it was cramped and very tired looking. Half of the power sockets didn't work, there was hardly any room to get past the beds and the carpet and furniture had seen better days. Although the bathroom was fairly well equipped it was dirty and had not been cleaned properly and unfortunately my bed sheets had dirty marks on all of them, which should have been checked by housekeeping. Overall very disappointed.
Review 11:The location of the hotel was a bit out of town for us but I can imagine in the height of the season its perfect due to it having it own beach and lovely pool, surrounded by the forest. The spa facilities are very good although after discovering table tennis and an air hockey table on the lower floor, they soon disappeared much to my children's dispair.
Review 12:The only thing I did not like was the fact that people were smoking on their nearby balconies to my suite and the smoke was drifting into my room and causing me to feel nauseated and distressed.
Review 13:The friendliness of the majority of staff at the hotel
Review 14:The house is much too big. The staff is not able, to manage so many people in a friendly way. It is real mass-tourismus.
Review 15:Wonderful big garden and outdoor swimmingpool. Beautyful walk along the seaside and the Natural Park
Review 16:More geared to young families or older generations, but still very convenient for walking into Rovinj
Review 17:Very nice setting, very clean and friendly staff.
Review 18:The only thing that annoying was the air conditioning not being underindividual room control but set at a pre-Set temperature. This has beenmentioned before, not a major problem as we went in September, but theroom did get hot,
Review 19:During our stay it was my 60th Birthday the hotel management surprisedus with a complimentary bottle of champagne which was left by thecleaning lady. A nice gesture and much appreciated. Obviously noticedwhen our passports were handed in.
Review 20:Parking is far away from the hotel. The hotel's original parking lotis taken by another, newer and higher class hotel. One must walk morethan a kilometer to leave a car and comes back. Ac works poorly and aguest cannot adjust it himself. The weather was very humid these daysand a temperature in our room was pretty much acceptable, but a humiditywas awful. There was a heavy machinery working outside, starting at 8 amand ending around 5 pm. It wakes you up and does not allow you to get anafternoon nap. In general, our room did not worth money we paid and thatwas so obvious. We paid eur 150 per night through booking.com and Icould get the same for eur 106 directly. Not good reference for eitherbooking.com, or hotel, or us.
Review 21:Location and restaurant staff
Review 22:Hotel rooms are very tired and need refurbishing. Rooms are very small. Housekeeping was shoddy
Review 23:Excellent grounds, pool, and garden area. Good location.
Review 24:Too many people at breakfast felt like being in a dinner queue and hard to find a table to sit are
Review 25:Location and cleanliness. Reception staff were veg helpful.
Review 26:Rooms were tired but spotlessly clean.
Review 27:Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Fantastic location - 10 min flat walk along coast into the beautiful town of Rovinj and next to nature park with some glorious little beaches which you can walk or cycle to. The hotel and grounds were spotlessly clean. The food was very very good.
Review 28:Unpleasant and unhelpful staff, parking included in the price of the room is almost a kilometre away, interior of the hotel reminds of a communist era tourist resort, located out of town, a good 25-30 minute walk to the centre.
Review 29:Nice park
Review 30:Room too hot as air con set at 24 deg. (Reception said it was not possible to lower it.)
Review 31:room, outdoor area, proximity to national park and beach and walking distance to town. bike hire.
Review 32:Staff not very friendly... Room very small and desperately needs renovating
Review 33:Swimming pool was amazing, free towels, not too crowded. Awesome beach, excellent view and facilities (sauna, hammam,...)
Review 34:Room is not so wide. If you need to use extra bed, you may feel the room is narrow.
Review 35:Good location. There is a pool and private beach. They offer wide range of breakfast.
Review 36:No free water with dinner on the half board option. I would expect water to be available always.
Review 37:Great location, easy walk into town. Great pool area. Safe and clean for kids
Review 38:Only one disable parking. Parking was way to far and one of reception staff was consistently way to rude! but I suppose every place has one of them.
Review 39:everything about the place was nice: staff (excludes reception), accommodation, food, atmosphere.
Review 40:Low review of the hotel is mainly due the "not so nice service" at the reecption when checking in and due to the air conditioning. The hotel did not allow us to check in at 13:00 (as the should) and the persons at the reception were not even freiendly about it. We could check in only after 14:00. In addition, the air conditioning in the rooms is working very badly and we had to insist to be able to change the room in which the air conditioning was not working. However even in the new room it worked very badly. The hotel is definetly not worth of this price and we will not return there.
Review 41:Nice location
Review 42:We liked everything.
Review 43:Hotel very well organised and staff very helpful. Location super and walk into Rovigno along the sea was superb. Room was large and comfortable. We will definitely return to Croatia but may be not in August as very busy.
Review 44:The property is situated around a small bay together with 2 other 5-star hotels, which seem to share the beach, pool and beach-side bars/restaurants. While the facilities are well-kept for most part, the small beach was extremely over-crowded when we were there as people from all around the area come to the Mulini Beach. While we were provided free towels and sunbeds, there was no square centimeter free on the beach and there was no sense of privacy/exclusivity considering the price one has to pay to stay in one of these three hotels.
Review 45:Location
Review 46:The room wall to wall carpets are old and allergy provoking. Should be changed asap. The overall feel would improve significantly, and this is normal procedure. Even hotel staff knew this and were sorry that this maintenance had not been carried out. Jeopardises the four star rating.
Review 47:The pool area was nicely planned and quite comfortable. Also Access to beach was nice, even if the beach was very crowded and probably used By non hotel guests mostly. Some more control to this would add to hotel guests comfort.
Review 48:Very dated decide in rooms but the resort facilities and location are amazing! They even gave me a bottle of Prosecco on my birthday!!
Review 49:Pool and beach are amazing!
Review 50:Tried to send 3 mails before we arrived, trying to get room side-by-side with friends, but no answer from the hotel. The first night we got wrong room with no airconditioning. Small rooms. Bad service. No smile from poolbar or hotel staff. No late check out!!
Review 51:Spa and fitness senter.
Review 52:The weather was too hot (July 2015) but we can't blame the Eden for that!
Review 53:Although it is a big hotel and serves a lot of people, the service offered was consistently good and efficient; we got the impression that the staff cared about what they did and we're all helpful. It seemed to 'work' for both families with young children and couples such as ourselves. Good facilities, clean, nice food (we were B&B) and a good sized room.
Review 54:Average food at breakfast and certain areas of the hotel look a little dated for a 4 star hotel. Our bathroom was small and room could do with upgrade. Kids not allowed to play with a ball in the swimming pool!
Review 55:Good, clean hotel with great pool, spa and gym. Comfortable beds and air conditioning worked well with the 35 degree temperature outside. Good WiFi available in rooms and around pool.
Review 56:The most expensive rooms which we took are junior suites. These have the worst location within the building and the worst view. No sea or park view. Suites look at the parking lot. Hotel is refurbished building from early 80s. The refurbish is not at the 4* level. Suites are accessed through a corridor that used to be a terrace. Room window is to this corridor. Suite simply does not justify a 400euro bill.
Review 57:Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is great.
Review 58:small details in interior are not curated, like lobby space - no carpets in sitting area, old tables. Elevator spaces in upper floors are cold - without a sitting area, flover, lamp. An architect is missing...
Review 59:personal is kind, garden is beautiful
Review 60:I was very disappointed when I found out that the lounging area i thought was included, had to be paid for. The hotel pictures on booking.com implies that you will be able to use the more luxurious beach chairs for free; that is not the case. You have to pay 75 euros for them.
Review 61:Location was great and the access to the beach was very convenient. The breakfast was very good and a broad variety of food was offered.
Review 62:For breakfast it would have been good to have a more healthy option for cereal/musli without chocolate in it. The seawater pools are really salty and felt quite uncomfortable to swim in.
Review 63:Great location and facilities; by the sea, several pools, gym and spa. Breakfast had a lot of choices and should have something for everyone and every diet. The park with the coastline and walking/biking paths are literally on the boarder of the property and is just lovely to explore to get away from all the guests at the hotel. Nice stroll to the town center/old town. Very quiet at night and no noise from the hall or the rooms next door. Bed was comfortable.
Review 64:Pools were a bit cold, but the weather was more to blame!
Review 65:The location is wonderful. We rented bikes and explored the park and ride to the city easily with young children. Children loved the pools and playground.
Review 66:Nothing to mention. Staff can be a little more attentive but it is a very big hotel so its dificult to have a personalized service.
Review 67:The best of the hotel is the amazing pools facing the beach and the beach itself wich is beautiful! You have a park just next to the hotel on one side with access to other beaches and the village on tbe other side that you can visit in a 10 mn walk by the sea in a beautiful promenade. Towel service and chairs are complementary by the pool and beach. We found this is not standArd in other resorts we have stayed so it was great to have this here. Loved the stay
Review 68:Overpriced
Review 69:Beautiful vegetation around hotel, peaceful environment, great outdoor pools, hotel located near the beach (free bay chairs for hotel guests), good breakfast
Review 70:the breakfast was not of the standard I would expect of a supposedly 4 star hotel. Also we stayed in a supposedly superior room which didn't look any different to standard rooms we have stayed in.When we asked the hotel management what determined that it was classed as a superior room they said it was because it had a sea view.It may have had once upon a time but the wooded areas mention above have grown to such an extent that they totally obscured any potential view of the sea and we left feeling cheated that we had been charged extra for a non existent facility
Review 71:The hotel is located in extensive wooded grounds with excellent swimming pools and access to bars and food points
Review 72:I suggest to have a room in the middle section as the wifi is better there. Maid should clean more carefully and bed should be made correctly. I would prefer a clean balcony - it seems that they don´t clean them. As minibar door is clear, the light glitters during the night. TV was not working properly, it flicked all the time. All juices are very bad (nothing even near the original taste). There was a mold in the bathroom!!!
Review 73:Superior room was nice, but a bit too small for superior. Nice view to the "pool SIDE".
Review 74:The hotel itself seem overpriced even at 60% discount rate we got over booking.com. Although recently refurbished the overall impression of Socialist realism style is visible at every corner. The hallway and carpet colour combination look depressive and ugly (peach / grey combination). The indoor pool temperature was freezing and the water was muddy!!! The coldest indoor hotel pool in my life! We were so excited and happy before arrival, looking for enjoying the swimming with kids, but this was impossible due to above mentioned. Confused and organized staff at check-in. We came in the same time with large group of German tourists and were forced to wait for almost half an hour with two 3-year old kids, while all staff members were looking at one computer screen, confusingly searching for something...while the other two computers for check in were unused.
Review 75:Great location, nice seaside room view, good breakfast
Review 76:The room was small, but ok. The beds were AWFUL!! The pillows seemed as if they were from Tito times: Filled with balled up feathers. The linen was AWFUL! A single sheet that did not stay put. We woke on the bare mattress. Amazing we slept at all.
Review 77:The walk along the coast to town is beautiful. The proximity to thepark and water is fantastic. The spa and pool looked great, andbreakfast was good.
Review 78:hotel staff was exelent, very helpfull. Hotels swiming pool with see salt water. Children was thrilled. Many facilities. Good location near the old town. We staied second time here in Eden with small children. We would like to back again.
Review 79:The towels had a bad odor, either from a laundry facilites or a 'cheap', non-parfumed washing detergent.
Review 80:staff, food, nice cultivated park, big parking
Review 81:AC is centrally regulated-- it was 29C in the room (we stayed there in march) so I suppose it's ice cold in the summer dinner was mediocre (unlike breakfast)
Review 82:staff is friendly and competent family friendly location
Review 83:Hotel was full of footbal players that were all over the place during the day and what was really problematic - also during the night. Screaming loud (really loud..), cheering, banging with doors. Not something one would expect at 4 star hotel.
Review 84:Location, especially hotel surroundings and the forest - and room, which was really large.
Review 85:Nice breakfast, but "orange juice" was awful. Wifi was strong but the actual internet bandwith poor/slow. Room furniture was a bit worn out (although everything worked).
Review 86:Location is great - close to the park and not that far from the town. Room in top floor was light and very quiet. Park and hotel beach were very well kept and a joy to walk through.
Review 87:Room décor and accessories were a bit outdated. General impression is that it's just an ordinary hotel, nothing special about it.
Review 88:Beautiful surroundings, quiet and cozy atmosphere.
Review 89:environment staff food rooms opportunities - you can rent bicycles, scooters, etc. for whole family (also seat for babies!) wellness and spa! Gym
Review 90:Very poor breakfast, with cost cutting measures such as watering down the juices until undrinkable. Poor quality of food for a four star. Trades on a wide range but forgets that it still has to taste ok. Surly reception with no training on how to be customer friendly. Outdated approach (sexist?) by assuming the man's name should feature even when he is not the booker or payer. Poor info in the room, no working wifi, dirty corridor, confusion over booking dates, no concierge to be seen when you need him....not the quality one expects of a four star.
Review 91:I would not recommend this hotel as it suffers from lots of small problems, which cumulatively show that the management needs a good shake up. Only redeeming feature is that is has a great location in the park, 15 minutes walk to old town, and access to a stunning outdoor pool complex.
Review 92:Slightly elderly audience, but not a cons really but good to know.
Review 93:Service facilities are great, good selection of breakfast. Good spa facilities. Decent indoors pool, good size outdoors pool. Around 15 minutes walk to town centre, 2minutes walk to the sea. Really good value for money.
Review 94:- as a tourist journalist cant understand how staff in beach restaurant can tell you at 11.30 that you cant have only coffee, because thay are opening at 12?! Shame for 4* hotel
Review 95:-excellent breakfast -nice and polite staff -clean room -excellent hotel for holiday and rest
Review 96:It is located in one area with other 5star hotels Monte Mulini and Lone. It is an advantage to use same facilities, bars and restaurants, beach and so. The only discomfort is hard sea entrance. Hotel is 10 mins from the center. We did enjoyed staying.
Review 97:Small rooms (even though my room was called "superior", I suppose only because it was overlooking the bay) but all rooms seem to be like this. Plus room interior is a bit old-fashioned, especially compared to modern hotel facilities. For EUR 200 per night I was expecting a better room.
Review 98:Great facilities, lush forest around, private beach, excellent breakfast, quite location, historic city center is reachable by walk.
Review 99:breakfast (nitpicking) - average coffee - limited choice of cheeses (this is generally an issue in Croatia) somewhat higher price level for the value room size rather small for the "superior twin" type, expected more
Review 100:- Beautiful outdoor swimming pool and beach facilities - Excellent wifi in room (Superior Twin Room, pool facing), pool area and even the beach - Overall good breakfast buffet (with omelette made to order) - Very helpful and friendly staff - Small but cozy indoor pool, sauna & co facilities
Review 101:Room not ready, rather grumpy male desk manager, not very cooperative. After waiting for quite a while freendly helpful female staff turned up and fixed the situation
Review 102:Close to the city, pool and beach facilities of superb outlay/quality, nice breakfastr, very nice staff
Review 103:Wifi was poor, broken several times in the room. I prefer dress code in such a 4 star hotel's restaurant. Lot of people wear singlet / vest shirt at the breakfast.
Review 104:The hotel is very-very good regarding service and place. It was more than expected in advance!!! Service by staff is really more than regular in Croatia. Last but not least Rovinj is a nice and super place.
Review 105:Rooms on the small size, air conditioning did not work for several days until it was repaired. Stained bathroom tiles- clean but unpleasant, need replacement. Parking can be crowed at peak times. Not enough seating area by the beach, need to go into the grass area farther from the sea. Limited variety of fruits in breakfast package.
Review 106:Location excellent! Walking distance to main attractions. Spa and outdoor facilities outstanding, good breakfast. Good food at all restaurants. Nice Art Deco 60's feel. Parking on site and friendly personnel with good service
Review 107:average room/hotel standard for well-above average rate, personell not very interested to help you, parking place not guaranteed for the quests ! (all parking places occupied ... )
Review 108:nice park just next to hotel, opportunity to rent good bikes and have nice bike trips, Quite location but not far from city center
Review 109:They wanted to overcharge the price that it was agreed at the reservation, which left at the end of holidays a bitter end. The hotel is overpriced.
Review 110:Nice location and facilities
Review 111:I would not recommend this place at all, for several reason. This was probably the most unfriendly hotel staff I have ever encountered in my life. The level of rudeness is remarkable, they were even insulting on couple of occasions. I've never saw anything like this in a hotel. The rooms extremely old and dirty; not even on the level of a 3-star hotel. It was so expensive considering what we actually got in the end; it is not worth a forth of the money we payed.
Review 112:Outdoor area including restaurants and pools (probably only because it is hared with other hotels). The gym was great and new. We could cancel one night without a problem (even tho it was only a day before arrival).
Review 113:The pools, both indoor and outdoor, although beautiful at first sight, are not deep enough to completely enjoy the moment...
Review 114:The location is excellent, the staff is client oriented, the food is tasty and varied ...
Review 115:No tea and coffee making facilities in room but this seems to be fairly standard in hotels here
Review 116:We asked for a quieter room overlooking the sea and it was perfect. Our balcony (5th floor) had plants across the wall which obscured the view a little but provided us with extra privacy. Stayed B&B and breakfasts were plentiful with lots of variety - only 1 rotary toaster though for the whole dining area but didn't have to wait more than a minute or 2 to use. Ate at pool & pastry cafés once - good value. Staff v helpful; Everywhere clean and of a high standard; Used pool and sauna a couple of times - excellent; Definitely want to return. Approx 10 mins walk to marina; 20 mins to old town.
Review 117:The quality of the food at breakfast could be better
Review 118:Spaciousness of resort with wonderful gardens, pools & beach. Everything is beautifully maintained & plenty of polite trained staff. Bedrooms comfortable & cleaning meticulous
Review 119:My room was in the fifth floor and there were plants on the balcony edge, which prevented the view from the balcony. (Those plants also tempted wasps, which I don't like) Anyway, the rooms on the other floors does not seem to have this plant issue.
Review 120:Very good Hotel. A really liked the park atmosphere and it's still just by the sea.A very good welness area with 3 Saunas, indoor pool and jacuzzi. And access to wellness area where included in the room price.Good breakfast with wide range of selection.
Review 121:Minor points...poor wifi in our room (435) but good poolside and public areas. No kettle in rooms. Small balcony but even rear of hotel has pleasant views.
Review 122:Location, access to parks, cycling, walking and proximity to town. Good quiet room with quiet aircon. Staff all pleasant and helpful. Small army of Cleaners kept all areas including paths and poolside very clean.
Review 123:parking is terrible. very family based hotel so children everywhere and staff are not so helpful or accommodating. for a younger couple or group of friends i would not recommend.
Review 124:location was ok for going on bike ride along beautiful coast line.
Review 125:One thing I do like to see ,especially in 4star hotels is a dress code for dinner,by this I mean trousers and collared shirts for men.
Review 126:Attitude and friendliness of the staff. The pool area and beach are the best I have experienced although it stretches the imagination to call the pebbles a beach. The food in the restaurant was first class and their was a good selection.
Review 127:Poor wifi
Review 128:Nice hotel with perfect distance to the sea (excellent faciltys at the beach), old town of Rovinj (beautiful city), woods for biking, walking and climbing and superb poolarea. Good food at the restaurants too.
Review 129:The food quality is very poor. The breakfast has 'value range' ingredients. We found most of it inedible. We ended up sticking to the only reliable offering - the bread and butter. The orange juice, cereals and coffee were dreadful. For what you pay to stay they are ripping you off with below standard food.
Review 130:The pool complex is lovely and the grounds are beautifully maintained.
Review 131:The location with the beautiful grounds and proximity to the beaches and trails through the woodland was superb. There was lots to do in the hotel - the spa area was first rate.
Review 132:very small pool
Review 133:Woods
Review 134:lack od parking space for private car
Review 135:excellent breakfast
Review 136:Sve ok....
Review 137:Plitki unutarnji bazen
Review 138:Novi fitness
Review 139:Parking was mostly full, but you could park anywhere in front of the hotel
Review 140:Breakfast buffet was excellent, the facilities of the hotel are fantastic
Review 141:We've got lucky and were transfered to hotel Lone instead, 5 star designer hotel, first in Croatia, so my review is about it.
Review 142:Nice hotel, very nice room, extremely friendly staff, very clean, beautiful surroundings, beautiful nature.
