Reviews for Hallmark Hotel Aberdeen Airport
Review 1:The hotel looked and felt "tired" it had a "tired." Atmosphere about it
Review 2:Staff were very helpful and friendly, my husband and I wanted to be near the airport for our very early morning flight.
Review 3:Ended up in one of the terrible concrete out houses at the back of the hotel. My room door opened directly onto a car park, two yards away from some pikey trying to start his transit van.
Review 4:My room was dusty and my taps were to stiff to work. When the hot water came on it was scolding hot and after a shower the bathroom floor was soaking wet.
Review 5:Friendly staff and a great location.
Review 6:Badly signposted you would not know it was there, the largest part of the signage says Aberdeen Airport with a tiny hallmark hotel logo to the side. The reception and facilities are seperate to the rooms with the rooms being across the car park in a seperate building. The food was poor and service slow.
Review 7:Reception was beautiful with a roaring log Fire all ready for Christmas
Review 8:The room smelt stale, the cleaning consisted of a less than thorough wipe down, nothing more. The breakfast was disappointing, the staff indifferent and the parking charge utterly disgraceful.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:Booked a double room, was allocated a twin room. The room was far to hot, with the radiator off. Went to the bar for a drink in the evening and was told at 10.15PM 'last orders at the bar', is this a normal way to treat residents?
Review 11:Lovely breakfast.
Review 12:I don't think that guests who are staying should be expected to pay for car parking.
Review 13:This Hotel provided excellent value for money and NO charge for pets which was so good.
Review 14:We felt breakfast food was cold. We did not like the tea& coffee out of the pump jugs. Was not hot enough. Would have preferred fresh.
Review 15:Plenty to choose from, at breakfast. Good selection of cereal etc. Good to see hotel is away to have upgrade, getting very tired looking.
Review 16:Not convinced the bed was fresh. Had dirty marks on it! There was small black curly hairs and nail clippings on the bathroom floor. It would be nice if it was clean.
Review 17:Location
Review 18:We found the hotel difficult to locate as Hallmark is not prominently displayed above Airport Hotel, and local people know it as Menses.
Review 19:Hotel being close to local transport services.
Review 20:Rooms, looked more like a 70's style butlins. Radiators very noisy, rooms warm and couldn't leave window open overnight.
Review 21:Evening Meal and Breakfast, Lounge area quite comfortable
Review 22:Staff at reception were not exactly customer friendly during booking-in, just because they were busy doesn't mean they can't be civil. Bed in my room (114) was not built properly or was broken as it was very noisy, even with the slightest movement. Also the shuttle bus from hotel to airport dropped me and one other guest at the roundabout near the airport in the rain. By the time we had walked to the airport we were soaked through all because the driver "didn't want to drive around the airport" (his words) a strange attitude considering that was his job.
Review 23:Room was well appointed, clean and modern
Review 24:the restaurant was shut, had to eat in the bar area - drunk man in there. Smokers right outside the entrance. Room smelt stale. Noisy all night due to a wedding party which seemed to be going on outside the hotel and our window.
Review 25:We were attending a surprise birthday party with a 3 course meal. none of the staff appeared to have had any training and could only carry 2 plates at a time, soup was spilt at our table by staff and the manager left it,the beef was tough and the waiting time between courses was long. After the event we were in residents lounge and were told we all had to be back in our rooms as the power was going off to enable a repair to the boiler. We were only told this 45 minutes before it went off.Room was very comfortable apart from the bed which was so hard it was like lying on the ground.this was my 2nd visit this year and both times we have found senior staff most unhelpful
Review 26:Smoking at the front reception
Review 27:The room was very comfortable and it was great value for money. The breakfasts were excellent. The staff could not do enough for you. The only negative was people smoking at the front reception which made the place look untidy.
Review 28:We could not charge the cost of the evening meal to our room, which we found was rather inconvenient.
Review 29:We left one of our bags behind in our room, which contained a passport, camera and other important items. Imagine our relief and delight to find it had been found by a staff member and handed to the concierge. Amazing honesty which must be acknowledged. Thanks.
Review 30:While the exterior was a little tired (due for overhaul soon, we gathered) the interior, especially the bedroom, was first class. Staff couldn't do enough to help and were extremely kind. Food was good in restaurant and facilities excellent.
Review 31:Rooms could do with lighter coloured paint. A touch of white even on walls would brighten it up.
Review 32:Cleanliness. Comfortable bed. Staff Brilliant, especially the deputy manager, Sumith. Breakfast brilliant choice and taste.
Review 33:Restaurant. We vad The misfortune to stat at The hotel at The same time as a wedding reception. Total catastrophe as regards trying to get flod and refreshments. We vad to Walt over one hour before even getting our premeal aperitif! The staff död what they could but all in all totally unacceptable.
Review 34:Parking Eye control the parking.... you will be charged for each night you stay - £4 My advice to hotel is get rid of these corrupt bunch of cowboys.
Review 35:Room size was excellent, even had a sofa in it.... bed was massive, very tastefully decoated & furnished.... nice all round
Review 36:Should have really be asked on check in if you have driven to Hotel instead of having to rely on reading the signs and having to return to reception to pay for parking after you've been to room
Review 37:When asking staff details could understand didn't tell us anything we needed to no . Asked another was told but to late lack of communication
Review 38:Our dinner was fab but was disappointed we had to sit in bar area felt quite exposed . Was told restaurant was till 9.30 . Was there at 9.
Review 39:Distance wise it looks close to the airport but you have to get a cab round the airport to get to it cost about 7 quid not a massive expense but back to the airport in the morning makes it another 7 quid to pick up the hire car
Review 40:Clean friendly superb breakfast great value
Review 41:Cleaner in the morning came in twice reminding me of 1100 check out timealthough it was 0935. Felt she wanted me out asap too get the roomserviced. I checked out at 0950.
Review 42:Bar facilities
Review 43:Did not get the room they advertised on their web page. Instead got some dump of a room at the back of the hotel block. The cost of the room & add'l breakfast was OTT.
Review 44:We did not get our room cleaned on second day, and then on the third day the bed was made but only one towel and it was very obvious in the room that there was two of us there!
Review 45:Dining experience was very good where we were offered more when an error occurred with one order. Duty Manager very helpful.
Review 46:Staff member on reception spoke down to us, also there was a group of young teens (13-14) in the room at the end of the corridor who were extremely loud.
Review 47:Massive room. Big, comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Overall nice stay apart from staff member on reception.
Review 48:I booked the room online because the advert stated that the room came with a free breakfast and free shuttle to the airport. I called to comfirm that this would be the case with my booking and I was assured this was the case. However when we arrived ready to book the shuttle, we were advised that the shuttle is from Monday to Friday only. We checked out on a Saturday and had to pay £9.50 to the airport. Very misleading and disappointing.
Review 49:The breakfast was good. Staff very polite. Service experience very good. For dinner, I ordered fish & chips - this was presented on a board which looked unhygienic, the fish however was fresh and tasted good.
Review 50:The price of the drinks seemed very expensive compared to other hotels we've been in.
Review 51:We were attending a celebration at this hotel so decided to book in overnight rather than drive the 25 miles home. What a good idea! The outside of the hotel is nothing special and it looked like it might have been a motel at one time, but inside the room was very spacious, with a 6' bed and a sitting area with a sofa, chair, TV, etc. We had a great time at the celebration and went off to bed. Despite the proximity to the airport we were not disturbed by noise and had a great night's sleep, then wandered across to the main area for a super breakfast , which was help yourself - all you can eat. Our room cost £86 which I felt was good value for the size and comfort of the room and the superb breakfast.
Review 52:I had a function the same night I stayed. The bar staff were lovely and was overall a good night. Would definitely recommend. The room I had booked was really good for money and a lot better than expected.
Review 53:bathroom was tiny compared to the room but was functional none the less. The exterior of the hotel is not very inviting however the inside more than makes up for this.
Review 54:The room was large and comfortable and gave great value for money. No noise from the airport despite its close proximity.
Review 55:The room was a fair distance from reception and hard to find as the reception staff only gave vague directions and no more, the room was cold when i got there, when the radiator was switched on it was very noisy and kept me awake most of the night. The way the hotel is configured with rooms a fair way from reception and in darkness it could be a frightening experience for solo female guests.
Review 56:Access to the airport.
Review 57:Be warned, this is not near the airport terminal! I lucked out that I had a hire car. Airport noise is very loud during the day but is quiet at night.
Review 58:Although it doesn't look inviting from the outside, the rooms inside are very clean and comfortable. Fantastic value for money.
Review 59:Panfried chicken dish was well presented but taste and texture ... Cooking ... Did not live up to it. Trying too hard .. Don't try to fine dine us ... Keep it basic and simple if you cant pull of fresh cooking
Review 60:Staff, design, room all excellent.
Review 61:I'd have preferred it to be cheaper - but that's Aberdeen for you!
Review 62:Very helpful staff. Big comfy rooms with great facilities. Good restaurant and bar area. Excellent location if you are in Dyce for anything to do with oil & gas!
Review 63:having to return in the morning to the desk to get VAT receipt having paid the previous evening Expensive £ 219 for the room - I hit a busy week! (paying myself)
Review 64:Straight forward - no problems
Review 65:No air con, could not sleep (in October), very hot. Wi-if very very very slow, ridiculous this day and age. Usual Aberdeen rip-off prices, £230 for one night, as usual with Aberdeen, double the price it should be.
Review 66:Decoration was fairly good.
Review 67:No telephone, no mini bar ,limited internet. for £260.00 . I work all over the world and stay in many hotels and can honestly say that your Hotel is the worst Hotel regarding value for money that I have ever stayed in.
Review 68:Leaving
Review 69:Confusing layout of hotel and no "mud map" given to find the room location. Having to carry luggage up narrow stairs. Woken at 7am by fire alarm.
Review 70:Free shuttle to Airport. Surprisingly quiet considering location.
Review 71:wifi didn't work in the room, poor connection, the first night at 3 o'clock the fire allarm went off and it was a false allarm but we had to get out anyways, the second day I was woken up by the room service (which I didn't request) and they almost got into the room all this at 7.30am! not so cool at all!! in the room there wasn't even a refrigirator! for what I've paid I was expecting much more! I've paid way less in much cooler location like Cannes or St Tropez at half of the rate of what they offered me.. won't reccomend it and won't come back at all!
Review 72:location, airport shuttle service
Review 73:Staff tried to book you in too quickly, wasn't personall as they talked to each other and stopped booking me in to talk to other guests
Review 74:Cost very good , cleanliness of room , facilities in room
Review 75:We had loud rather drunk neighbours who arrived back at 04.25am bawling and shouting which woke me. They eventually went quiet 25 mins later
Review 76:This time we were in a chalet type room which was spotless
Review 77:didnt like the prices in the bar. big hotel like this ran out of ginger ale.the breakfast was aful. when we went down at 9 20. they were clearing away. it should have been 10 0clock. we ate what was stil left it was rotten.
Review 78:the rooms are all outside. just like chalets.room was nice and big. had everything you would need.. but a bit cold when you had to go outside after event.
Review 79:The room was SO HOT. I had the window wide open all night but there was a hot pipe running along the floor near the window. So it was hard to cool down. Also we intensely dislike polyester filled doonas but unfortunately they are everywhere! They don't breathe and are very uncomfortable even in winter.
Review 80:An attractive room that was very clean and quiet. Good price and perfect for a quick getaway to the airport in the morning.
Review 81:The wifi signal was so poor and unstable in my room 711. I had a lot of internet work research to do and that was the second main reason for choosing Menzies. Wifi was not even good enough at the reception yet they bosted of that at the website. I couldn't send pictures home in real time like I promised my family before I left. That was BAD!!
Review 82:1. The location was just a walking distance from Falck Nutec where I had my workshop. 2. The food was excellent, keep it up.
Review 83:Sun breakfast was a let down - tea was not drinkable from tea urn, eggs were like rubber and sausages were dry. Staff were all sat down or huddled in the one corner of dining room - felt I would be intruding to ask for pot of tea.
Review 84:Must admit when we arrived I was disappointed , thought it looked a bit run down but I was delighted with room : )
Review 85:Could have made it easier finding the room but one of the staff in the car park helped
Review 86:Close to the airport, nice big room and was warm
Review 87:Very dated, much like a cheap US motel
Review 88:food ok, but overpriced
Review 89:Accommodation dated a bit like Butlins!! But as hotel is due for rebuild this should be resolved
Review 90:Food and entertainment good
Review 91:Swift check-in & out. Staff courtesy.
Review 92:Would not stay again , basic and sparse not as close to airport as indicated
Review 93:,

Review 96:Staff where shockingly bad service dire and I would never stay at this hotel again !!
Review 97:Room was nice clean and comfy
Review 98:Decor needs attention with torn wallpaper. Secure access external doors are not secure. Sofa bed mattress is not comfy.
Review 99:Staff seemed bored and uninterested. Breakfast was like eating cardboard. Had to pay extra to park my car!
Review 100:Comfortable bed.
Review 101:The big breakfast Th good price The location, facility for airport and railway.
Review 102:Parking charges
Review 103:Room size ad the bed.

Review 107:Breakfast as good, the staff could smile more and be more welcoming.
Review 108:The night receptionist wasnt very helpful.
Review 109:The morning staff were lovely.I would recommend and stay again.
Review 110:None
Review 111:Ok
Review 112:1) Unexpected car parking charge of £4.00. 2) The noise of the central heating radiator throughout the entire night kept me awake.
Review 113:Friendliness, care and service of the young staff in the restaurant.
Review 114:great value, free parking
Review 115:£13 for a breakfast
Review 116:Nice rooms and good staff
Review 117:Smell from towels. A bit musty
Review 118:It was excellent value and very comfortable. Exactly what I wanted for a quick visit to Aberdeen
