Reviews for Barnacre
Review 1:As a family of four it was great to have our own private space (Kitchen & Lounge) in The Granary but still avail of the cooked breakfast by the proprietor. The cooked breakfast was excellent.
Review 2:Lovely spacious room and ensuite very comfortable with an excellent breakfast all in an ideal position to visit the many attractions of Northumberland. We would definitely stay again on our next visit.
Review 3:the room was well equipped and clean. nice patio area to sit out in, large bathroom with towels and bathroom products. lovely breakfast in the morning in the dining room. accommodation well presented and owners welcoming.
Review 4:Did not have an en suite although had our own bathroom next door, which could have had access from the bedroom - don't know why this had not been done! The room was cold but as soon as we mentioned it to the owner she turned up the heating.
Review 5:Lovely big room. Very comfortable bed. Plenty of storage - which we did not need for one night. Very interesting house.
Review 6:Couldn,t get the Wi Fi to work showed not in range in our bedroom. Bathroom was next door to our room. Had to go out into corridor to access toilet. At our age prefer ensuite
Review 7:Very Nice room with access to small courtyard garden with picnic bench seating. Nice Breakfast fresh eggs fro chickens in garden. Plenty of choice for breakfast well cooked and presented.
Review 8:The owners were friendly and efficient and provided comfortable, roomy accommodation at a very reasonable price. The breakfasts were excellent, with plenty of choice. There was plenty of information on places to visit, eat etc.
Review 9:All excellent.
Review 10:Ample parking for everyone Quiet property Beautifully carpeted and furnished room which is very large, in perfect condition and has plenty of spacious furniture as well as really attractive and comfortable king-size bed and a very large ensuite bathroom. Key to room lock and front door. Lots of light from windows Perfect room lighting with range of lamps and ceiling lights. Top-class breakfast with wide choices available. Friendly and helpful owners who came out to welcome me when I arrived.
Review 11:Shower cubicle too small, could not shower with the Bi- folding door closed. Therefore the floor became wet and slippery. There was a hot water shortage in the morning, hence a very cold shower.
Review 12:Position, people, service, room size and facilities, all excellent..
Review 13:The sitting out area looked a little neglected.
Review 14:Lovely 4 poster with sink in the room. Nice property with parking handy for where we wanted to visit (Farne Islands, Morpeth, National Trust properties).
Review 15:Country feel in village, close to Morpeth. Friendly and helpful pre-arrival and welcome. Quiet rooms with lovely residents' sitting room (tv, DVDS, books and games). Excellent fish pie and lamb shank for evening meal. Quality English breakfast.
Review 16:The shower wasn't not very warm.
Review 17:The village setting and layout of Barnacre. The quality of the accommodation and breakfast. The owner was very pleasant and helpful.
Review 18:The accommodation was first class. Advertised as B&B it is more like a hotel in that the rooms are located in separate building; refurbished farm buildings. The village location is quiet and scenic, but lacks facilities like shop, restaurant or pub. However they do offer a very good limited evening meal menu.
Review 19:Indifferent welcome...separate bathroom and toilet...which although I knew was the case is still never ideal. The wi-fi was hopeless...not good for anyone who needs to complete business material, access emails etc
Review 20:Great building...although no one appeared to be home when I arrived. Clean facilities.
Review 21:Check out too early, private bathroom outside the room, people kept using ours. No wifi in our room, the patio next to the room needs some tidy up
Review 22:I liked the fact that it was clean and quiet. The breakfast was nice. Its a cosy place, there is some chickens and ducks outside, makes you feel you are at a farm
Review 23:Booked this B&B due to it's central location for exploring Northumberland. The family room was great - 2 huge bedrooms with a linking bathroom, brilliant as we were staying for 4 nights. Host was really nice and friendly and breakfasts good. Would recommend to others,
Review 24:We were visiting our eldest daughter who lives in the area with her family and were accompanied by our three other adult children. We had spacious bedrooms but also had our own sitting room for the evenings. The breakfasts were delicious and cooked by Linda.
Review 25:The attitude of the lady owner when there was a mix up with payment was not favourable, diplomatic or business like, I was most upset by her threatening actions!
Review 26:Room was amazing and facilities and the welcome from Brian upon our late arrival too.
Review 27:A bit far away from amenities, restaurants / pub etc. Had to drive into Morpeth 2-3 miles away to get evening meal.
Review 28:Nice well kept property and manager very polite and friendly
Review 29:Linda was very helpful & polite, couldn't have asked for anymore. Facilities were excellent we were well looked after & breakfast to everyone's liking
Review 30:The property was very comfortable in a fantastic location The added bonus of self catering or bed and breakfast is a bonus. The owners should be proud of their fantastic property. We will definately be back.
Review 31:I don't really want to quibble – but if I must, it would be only to say that the seating in my room was very low and not good for creaking knees.
Review 32:Excellent value for money and a very comfortable place to stay – much better than a standard 'chain' hotel at a similar cost.
Review 33:My main complain is the description of the room facilities on Booking.com; it doesn’t clarify that in the specific room there is no internet connection and that the bathroom is not an ensuite. These 2 aspects are very vaguely communicated, as well as the fact that the heating is not on during the night. Breakfast is basic (but nicely cooked); more healthy options would be appreciated.
Review 34:The room was spacious, clean and warm while central heating was on. Nice building and location.
Review 35:Poor wifi connection in part of the room, in other parts was excellent. With it being winter the heating could do with being on overnight instead of going off at 11pm and coming back on at 7am.
Review 36:Polite attentive hosts, spacious luxurious room. Food was excellent, all freshly cooked. Went away for anniversary evening, felt totally relaxed which was the intention. We would use again
Review 37:The parking area was being re-gravelled, so was temporarily out of action, so we had to park in the drive and reverse over the lawn. This could have been a problem if there were any other guests parking. I'm sure that this will be sorted quickly
Review 38:As we were the only guests staying there, we were upgraded to an ensuite bedroom, which was an excellent deal. The premises were clean and tidy, and the breakfast was very good - nothing was too much trouble.
Review 39:Nothing
Review 40:The room was perfect for both myself and my family The breakfast was lovely especially in front of the log fire. So homely. Will definitely stay again should we come back to Morpeth.
Review 41:Nothing!
Review 42:The cooked breakfast was great giving you the best of both worlds;self catering and B&B all on one! Owners very friendly and knowledgable especially where to fish for my husband!
Review 43:Nothing!!
Review 44:We were given a 3 bedroom cottage for just myself and my husband which was stunning. We were made to feel extremely welcome! The building and the grounds were gorgeous! Would definetly use Barnacre again
Review 45:Had to drive to get an evening meal - nothing in the village, not the proprietors fault.
Review 46:Central location for touring Quiet village location Spacious rooms Excellent breakfast Cleanliness and friendliness of proprietory.
Review 47:Flexibility over arrival times, and breakfast times. Nice large room. Linda was very friendly and made us feel welcome even when we had altered our plans which caused her some inconvenience.
Review 48:The room size was excellent as we were upgraded to our surprise. Bed very comfortable and to have the use of the kitchen and fridge to leave our food in was also great.
Review 49:Only that we couldn't stay longer.
Review 50:Quiet location in small village, but only 10 minutes drive to nearby town with all facilities. First class rooms & staff. Wonderful place to relax with quiet lounges.
Review 51:I may have missed warnings but we were greeted by a cat and dogs - the latter seemed fine but one daughter can be very nervous. The cat was not allowed in the B&B section which was a relief and my other daughter is allergic to them. We loved the ducks!
Review 52:Spacious room, even with extra bed for my teenage daughters. Would have been great for a longer stay. We could use the fridge in the communal area. The breakfast was really generous and well cooked. Friendly atmosphere.
Review 53:The Wi-Fi stopped working from 9pm until the next day. I was unable to locate the owner
Review 54:Location Free range chicken and ducks Large room Comfortable
Review 55:It rained pretty much the whole time!
Review 56:The owner was very obliging and at short notice was able to provide us with an excellent gluten free breakfast, earlier than usual, without any trouble.
