Reviews for Mourneview B & B

Review 1:I had to go home

Review 2:Lynn was very helpful, giving us two lovely breakfasts. B&B is lovely and spacious, clean warm and the owners/other guests didn't mind us coming in late on the Saturday evening.

Review 3:Location was fantastic , Village pubs great Lots to do at the adventure park Or just take a walk around the castle just outside the village. Best of all a big thank you to all the locals who was so kind to all who stayed . A very special place.

Review 4:We could hear every step of the person in the room above.

Review 5:The owners were lovely people, Lyn even offered to drive us to town. The room was very large and homely with a recently renovated bathroom and the whole place was spotless. We really enjoyed our breakfast.

Review 6:On arrival Lynn showed me to the rooms and as it was a surprise for a friends b day she also helped us with that. She couldn't do enough for us including driving us into the town later that evening. Breakfast was great with a beautiful view that helped with the hangover. A really lovely family owned B and B that I will definitely be visiting again.

Review 7:Perfect location. Friendly, welcoming owner. Lovely, spacious room and en suite. Nice breakfast with plenty of choice. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family.

Review 8:No complaints!

Review 9:Lynn, the owner, was extremely nice and helpful. As there was a group of us she made two trips to drive us into Carlingford on Saturday evening for dinner.

Review 10:Bit far out. Bed a tad too hard for me, could have been more comfortable but then I'm very particular about the comfort of my bed.

Review 11:Excellent breakfasts. Room/bathroom very clean. Free ride into Carlingford for evening meal.

Review 12:Lovely room with big windows and large ensuite with elcric shower. The room was spotless. Also the owner offered to drive us into the town which saved us a taxi fare. Lovely breakfast.

Review 13:Its bout mile and a half to centre. but the owner left us intown for no charge. Got taxi back 5 euros not bad.

Review 14:Great place so clean. Super room . Lovely bed sheets great on suite . Lovey breakfast. Over all super.

Review 15:Quite difficult to find even with sat nav. Road not listed on sat navigation.

Review 16:Good value and nicely located in quiet country area.I like the breakfast area.

Review 17:B&b was perfect and great value for money. Just slightly outside carlingford town centre which didn't bother us. The owner dropped us into town and gave us number for taxi they always use to bring us home. Amazing views. Will definitely be back!!!

Review 18:John and Lynn made us so welcome and always went the extra mile to accommodate us. The views are stunning, rooms are spacious and extremely clean and the iridh breakfast is amazing!

Review 19:The single bed in the triple room was not as comfortable for an adult as the double bed. Guests coming in late in the bedroom above us woke us up at 1.30 am dropping items on the floor which was very noisy

Review 20:The views, the room, the breakfast, the hosts

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:The accommodation was excellent. The room was large, as was the bed (King size), the decoration and overall cleanliness was spotless. Both the host and hostess were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good as were the views from the breakfast room. Some of the local restaurants run their own mini bus service so if you are concerned about drinking and driving when going out for dinner it isn’t a problem and besides the local taxis are very reasonable as it is only just over a mile from Carlingford.

Review 23:The WiFi signal was a little weak in our bedroom. The iron/ironing board were a bit dirty. But I'm really nitpicking there!

Review 24:Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful (they even drove us to the village a couple of times). The room was lovely and very comfy. The breakfast was very tasty.

Review 25:Slightly further out than the town centre but only a short journey by car, It wasn't a problem.

Review 26:The room was a good size, it was incredibly clean, quiet and comfortable. The room was also competitively priced.

Review 27:Overall this was the nicest B and B myself and my friends have ever stayed in. The rooms are huge, very clean and has the most amazing scenery you could ever want. Especially from the breakfast room! We will definitely be back.

Review 28:Lyn was a lovely host who made us feel welcome in her home which was spotless. Beautiful breaky. Also let me use her phone when mine didn't work.

Review 29:Lovely clean B&B on a quiet rural road just 5 min drive from Carlingford. Great scenic view of the Mourne Mountains from the Breakfast Room conservatory. Very good breakfast (fresh fruit, juice, yogurts, cereal & full Irish cooked breakfast). Very comfortable bed and spacious room.

Review 30:Wooden floors made down stairs room noisey at night with quests in upstairs room, till sleeping.

Review 31:Rural setting close to carlingford. Great view of Mourn mountains. Spacious room

Review 32:Lyn the owner couldnt do enough for us on our stay from dropping us to our wedding reception to our breakfast. Lovely house with big rooms and the scenery was fantastic. A wonderful place and we will be back

Review 33:Cooked breakfast was not good. I didn't want sausages, so I got 2 overcooked rashers (inedible), one undercooked egg and one tomato. At €80 for one person per night, in a rural area on a narrow road (you couldn't walk it) and with a poor breakfast, I felt that this accommodation was very over-priced and I would not stay there again.

Review 34:The accommodation throughout was spotlessly clean and comfortable, owners were pleasant, accommodating and unobtrusive.

Review 35:Breakfast finishes at 10 and when I got up at 11 I wasn't offered as much as a cup of tea or a slice of toast. That is the owner's prerogative but I feel a lot of other places would be more accommodating.

Review 36:Clean, functional property.

Review 37:Stayed on Saturday 22 November with 3 friends for a pre-Christmas catch up in Carlingford. Lynn and her husband were excellent hosts and dropped us into the town on Saturday evening. Breakfast was lovely served in a room with beautiful views and we were able to chat away and take our time over breakfast. Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely be back.

Review 38:Lynn was very friendly and welcoming, she even offered us a lift to the wedding we were attending! The room was quiet, comfortable and with everything we needed, tea, wi-fi etc. Breakfast was lovely, everything you'd want in a B&B

Review 39:The location was fantastic and views beautiful. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The room was excellent with great décor and furnishings.

Review 40:Loved this bed&breakfast, hostess was so friendly even taken all her guests into carlingford village if they needed a lift.have not seen this anywhere else, will definitely be back for a longer stay as the surrounding area is beautiful also

Review 41:They need to update the booklet in the room with regard to mass times in the local church. we went for 10 am as stated in the room but no mass till 11 30 on sunday and mass on a sat evening which was not mentioned at all. everything else was fine.

Review 42:the house was very nice. lyn and her husband made us feel welcome.

Review 43:The only thing I did not like was I found the room cold and woke up during the night quite chilly.

Review 44:The view was beautiful and and lovely friendly atmosphere and the food was lovely to.

Review 45:Lovely home close to Grange and Carlingford. Home was comfortable with large bedrooms and they served great choice of breakfasts in the morning. John and Lyn were excellent hosts! Would highly recommend a stay here.

Review 46:We had looked at the location before coming and we believed it wasn't that far from the centre however it was not a walkable route (and we didn't bring our own transport) so that left us a bit stuck on the first day but after that the owner offered to take us places and pick us up if we need too!

Review 47:I can't fault anything I our stay at mournview, everything was lovely, te staff were great too!

Review 48:Nothing really but try to avoid over weekends in Summer as finding parking and space for an evening meal in Carlingford can be a problem

Review 49:Friendliness Offer of coffee and a pancake on arrival The brilliant use of the available space in a small room for maximum comfort

Review 50:Got lost trying to find the house. Rang the owner who came out to find us. Later when going to the wedding reception hotel the B and B owner took us there. Did not charge us.

Review 51:Lynn Grills and her husband were very welcoming and helpful. The location is in the countryside not far by car from Carlingford. There are beautiful views from the breakfast room towards Carlingford Lough and the Mourne Mountains. We left our car in Carlingford after a wedding and taxied back to base. Lynn kindly dropped us back to the car the following morning. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Review 52:We didn't realise just how far out it was from the town

Review 53:Excellent staff, both owners were very generous with lifts into the town. Food was lovely and the room was spotless clean!

Review 54:Bit far out however we were given a lift into town. People in carlingford no that's a different story

Review 55:All good with B&B very relaxed late check out meant you could go back to bed for a couple or hours. Breakfast was great good selection.

Review 56:Room was very welcoming and comfortable. John our host piloted us when we got lost as the address was slightly out of the way. Breakfast was included in the overall costs and was beautifully presented. Overall a lovely relaxing venue with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
