Reviews for Morpeth Lodge

Review 1:No food, no breakfast, no shower, bath was tiny and big enough for a child. Decor old and dated with woodchip in the bathroom. £60 for a bed with no breakfast with such poorly appointed facilities was a disgrace

Review 2:convenient

Review 3:Not what I expected. Most basic accommodation akin to a hostel. Drab decor. Very thin walls and doors which meant conversations and footsteps were heard in the corridor. Also I could hear movement in other rooms. Toilet seat became detached during the one night stay. Entry was by key/fob and exit by leaving the same in a drop box. I believe the building was unattended overnight.

Review 4:The price attracted together with a location near to the centre of Morpeth.

Review 5:No breakfast facilities. Not able to stay with family in same room

Review 6:The lady at reception was very helpful and sorted another room on the hotel to accommodate the fact there were not enough beds in the room we had booked. This was despite specifying on the booking we had 2 young children

Review 7:The "wardrobe" was a joke, more like one that would be used for camping. Also, thought it was

Review 8:The room and bathroom had a high standard of cleanliness.

Review 9:When we went to the dining room for breakfast at 8.00 am the lights were off and there was no one about everyone was still in bed very disappointing

Review 10:The receptionist when we arrived couldn't have more helpful

Review 11:The property was high on shabby with non of the chic. It wasn't particularly clean nor were the beds comfortable. I would not recommend this hotel.

Review 12:The location of the property was good for town shops and restaurants. Morpeth was a nice friendly town and good for using as a base for trips to locations throughout Northumberland.

Review 13:No shower, not even a simple hose type that could be fitted to the bath taps. Odd considering the good standard of bathroom fittings and decor.

Review 14:Breakfast baskets are a great idea although the contents could be healthier. Free wi-fi and on site car park.

Review 15:we were very misled into thinking it was breakfast included and suitable for disabled this was not the case. This is the first time we have not been happy using you my dietry needs are very important due to my heath and it caused alot of anxiety and i became unwell. We use u allthe time when we go to europe and england so i would really like to be compensation for my weekend been a bad experience

Review 16:Rooms were clean

Review 17:We only rated staff as fair because we did not have much contact. However the member of staff who checked us in was friendly and welcoming

Review 18:Easy to find. very close to the town centre. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The room was lovely and warm when we arrived which was much appreciated.

Review 19:Breakfast is still advertised (even the sign outside still says b and b) but not available Room had bath and yet no shower...I thought baths went out with flares and kipper ties Dim lighting in the rooms

Review 20:Good location easy to find, short walk into town, shops etc Good parking quiet room if you are at the back overlooking the car park. very helpful staff

Review 21:Morpeth is lovely town, went for a wedding at eshott hall and this was great value for money. Don't judge by 1960's building and external photos.

Review 22:Décor was old and tired. I did not realise that it had limited reception duties. I did not see any representatives after paying and was given no instruction about where to leave keys, breakfast (if I wanted any) etc. No shampoo, but soap. I think it was clean, but felt insecure about it as décor was so old. I am quite short and could not see in the mirror in the en-suite. I paid £5 more for an excellent single room at the Metropolitan in Whitley Bay the previous week, which included breakfast. The contrast was unfortunate.

Review 23:It was quieter than I expected after reading all the warnings on the room door.

Review 24:Very poor cooked breakfast. The room had a bath but no shower. When one is over 70 getting in and out of a bath can be quite difficult. Not much insulation between rooms to deaden the noise,

Review 25:The location was ideal plus there was car parking.

Review 26:Receptionist met us and after that it was difficult to find anyone.Room was not cleaned on first day No information in room, no hairdryer, you could hear everything going on in the next room who was a contractor who got up every morning at 6 30am using his phone and put the TV on and I could go on and on

Review 27:There was nothing I liked about this hotel. I have stayed in alot of accomodation over the last 20years and this is by far the worse.

Review 66:good location, good parking, good breakfast

Review 67:Like staying in a DSS B&B room smelt of 'p'

Review 68:location to town

Review 69:A bit expensive for a single room. For the price of £47.50 it should have included breakfast, shampoos and biscuits as most similar type properties do.

Review 70:Nice clean and friendly hotel.

Review 71:The single rooms are very small and basic. The hotel is quite old fashioned in its décor and facilities. A single room with bath is just that, no shower overhead. Hot water takes some time to arrive but gets there eventually!

Review 72:Location to town centre.

Review 73:fairly basic accommodation, but everything that was required and very good value for the price. Good location close to town and all facilities. Free parking on site. Only saw staff at check in as after that you were able to come and go at your own requirements.
