Reviews for Akrotiri Hotel

Review 1:Shower quite small. Long walk to Parikia town centre.

Review 2:The view from our room was absolutely fabulous! The complex very well kept. The staff quite courteous! Good recommendation to restaurant (Cava d'Oro). 10 minutes cab ride to Parikia ferry.

Review 3:There is nothing we didn't like about this hotel.

Review 4:They picked us up from the port and gave us welcome drinks. The staff is really helpful and made us feel at home. The hotel has a really nice swimming pool, the rooms are big enough and spotless and the view is great. Breakfast is also pretty good with lot of choice.

Review 5:The bed was not very confortable. It is a little bit far from the town, but it is not really a problem if you don't mind walking or if you rent a car.

Review 6:The staff was very friendly, welcoming and always helpful. They made me feel very confortable. Thanks to Margarita, Maria and Marousso (and sorry for the others, I don't have their names!).

Review 7:no negative point

Review 8:Second time at Akrotiri Hotel and we just love it! Great view from the main building and from our balcony. Extremely nice crew. Good breakfast. We will certainly return.

Review 9:We did like totally everything about Akrotiri hotel! Our stay of 10 days was amazing! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, we felt so welcome. The hotel itself looks very beautiful. The room is very nicely furnished , the bathroom has new equipment and everything looks so stylish and cosy. We were offered a free transfer from and to the port of Paros. Free beach towels are available. The hostess also helped us with renting the car and laundry. We have never been so satisfied with the hotel services. We highly recommend Akrotiri Hotel!

Review 10:Nothing really. It seemed a little too far out of town at first, but we soon found the path down to the beach which was great with lounge chairs and a bar/restaurant. Hotel took us down town for dinner and each evening caught a taxi back 6 euro.

Review 11:We had a room each. My room had a lovely view, twin beds and a reasonably sized bathroom. Air conditioning was good. Comfortable room. The pool area was fabulous. Would have liked to have spent longer, as the property was so peaceful, relaxing and had a resort feeling. Paros has a very slow pace, but perfect after Mykonos.

Review 12:Rather small bathroom with limited counter space

Review 13:Great view from room balcony and most areas of the hotel. Friendly staff who gave helpful recommendations. Homely atmosphere.

Review 14:The staff were fantastic. Highly recommend going with day tours and hire vehicles as advised by staff. Certainly made our stay enjoyable and we got the most of it.

Review 15:A little far to walk to town but the hotel kindly provides transfers to town.

Review 16:Very homely feel in this stylishly decorated small hotel. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. Amazing views from the bar overlooking the pool and Parikia bay.

Review 17:The walk to the beach/town through the path was a little too scary to do at night, but taxis were cheap and staff offered to run us in to town.

Review 18:Lovely staff and very welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us. Views were spectacular and really great value for money.

Review 19:You will need a car as it is a bit of a walk to the village.

Review 20:Wonderful staff and a fabulous view. It is small and gives an intimate experience. Pool was fabulous with pool service. Rooms were quiet. Ocean view was lovely.

Review 21:We stayed in 5 hotels on 4 different islands during this holiday, and Akrotiri Hotel and Paros island were our favourites. Staying at the hotel was like visiting friends - attention to detail and a great attitude from the staff are noticeable from the moment you get to the property. We were picked up promptly from the port, and when we got to the hotel, we were asked to relax with a drink on the terrace, and enjoy the view (which is amazing!), without needing to stand at the reception and check-in, like a standard hotel. Our room was with a balcony and amazing view of the bay, which is breathtaking both during the day and at night. The dirt path from the hotel takes you to Livadia beach in 15 minutes. If the staff are available, they will even give you a lift into town, and a taxi ride to happening Naoussa is only around 20 euros. The breakfast again, is like eating at home. The bar serves amazing cocktails. The pool is lovely. All in all, such a cosy atmosphere, made even better by the staff who never say no - we are definitely going back!

Review 22:Poor wifi in room only available in reception area. Due to the location being 20min walk from down it would have been good to have a better selection for dinner menu

Review 23:Nothing!

Review 24:From the 'wow' on walking in and seeing the view, to the sad farewell to our new Greek 'family', our stay at the Akrotiri was perfect! A warm welcome, smiling staff who did everything to make our stay wonderful, plentiful breakfast with local and home made produce, tasty meals available when required, there is not space here to do justice to the joys of Akrotiri, its owners and its staff. Cannot wait to return!

Review 25:Wifi wasn't the best but ok to check your emails.

Review 26:Enjoyed our balcony over looking the water. Staff were very helpful. The pool area was very relaxing. Rooms very clean and comfortable.

Review 27:Far away from parikia bus station. Cannot get there without a car. But we couldn't rent a car without reserving in this season. So the staff send us to bus station everyday.

Review 28:-great staff sending us to parikia everyday. -great sea view and nice pool. -very quiet. -delicious breakfast.

Review 29:Wifi was very weak.

Review 30:The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. Were always willing to drive us to town free of charge and to the port. Lovely breakfast ever morning.

Review 31:The location is not great for young couple - better beaches on other parts of the island (e.g. Santa Maria)

Review 32:Very nice and welcoming staff. Provided great recommendations and help in arranging a quad rental.

Review 33:the only downfall was the walk to the beach as the walk through the fields was a bit dodgy with the dogs, and at night, so some lights would be good

Review 34:it was a beautiful hotel , and the room was good and it was so clean, and the staff were amazing so friendly and helpful, and the food was good, and we thought Paros was amazing and we will definately be back

Review 35:Had singles beds. Probably not their fault as I probably accident my booked it. Can't fault the place was brilliant.

Review 36:Friendly staff lovely location and a great island to stay.

Review 37:The position of the hotel (a little bit far from the centre), breakfast was the same every day- it didnt bother but it could if you stay more than 7 days

Review 38:The staff was great, the room was ok with everything what you need, wi-fi overcame my expectations, pool is excelent, car expects you from/to ferry

Review 39:The bed lamps are a bit close to the pillow(head) and exteremely hot, burned myself a few times

Review 40:Really friendly staff and host. Great facilities, just what we needed in our price range.

Review 41:This hotel is an absolute gem, and brilliant value. The staff are very welcoming, and it has a quiet location on the outskirts of town, but within a pleasant walking distance. It was the Greek island holiday that you dream about.

Review 42:Leaving!!

Review 43:As someone who doesn't typically travel to the same place twice I had to go back to the akrotiri. Everything was as beautiful as I remembered. Lovely lovely people, beautiful food served with a smile by the warmest pool I found while in Greece. Wifi is great, free and available all over and location is just a short walk or taxi outside Parikia with stellar views.

Review 44:There is nothing to dislike about this hotel.

Review 45:The staff was wonderful. They picked us up from the port. Treated us royally and made us feel at home. They are located near the Marchelo beach which is in a cove like setting and extremely beautiful. We were a family of 10 adults and the accommodations were great. Marouso and Margarita, the drivers and bartender were all super. Thanks again for a great time. You really need a car rental in order to see the whole island if you are a big group of people.

Review 46:The wifi is astonishingly slow and unreliable. Also, the breakfast, though a nice spread, is a bit pricey for what it is, and doesn't offer much appeal.

Review 47:Great staff and beautiful location. Very low key and easy to work with. Shout out the Andy the bartender. He's the man with the plan.

Review 48:Fantastic views across the bay to Paros Town. What a great find. The family owners and their staff team make you feel so welcome and cannot do enough for you. We will definitely be back.

Review 49:We had a wonderful stay here. The family that runs the hotel is so welcoming and friendly. They arranged quad and car rentals, picked us up at the ferry, provided beach and restaurant recommendations and were very attentive. The location on a hill across from the harbor provides stunning views. The walk into town is a bit long, so you'll probably need to rent some type of vehicle. The room and lobby decor is charming, though the bed was somewhat uncomfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Review 50:Nothing! Ok, maybe wifi didn't work but I didn't really need it. Need to fully enjoy my holidays! :)

Review 51:Stayed here for 2 nights in June and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were picked up at the port on time and was warmly welcomed at the property. We were served a welcome drink and the homemade lemonade is awesome on a hot day! We were sat down with properly and was briefed through by Andy on the attractions and recommendations on the island. He even made like a 100 calls just to help us organise a quad bike. The rooms are clean and has a good view of the bay. The location is good as well, and with a bike it is so easy to get around. Everyone is so warm and friendly and we were well taken care off. Breakfast is awesome too, great food plus great view. Highly recommended and would definitely choose to stay there again.

Review 52:Location was a little further out but we knew this when we booked and we would not have had such a lovely view so in the end was not an issue at all.

Review 53:The hotel and room were both lovely We had a great view across the bay from our balcony. The staff were amazing from the welcome lemonade and sit down greet to the all the recommendation on things to do and were to eat. The only hotel on our honeymoon who left a bottle of bubbles in the room on arrival.

Review 54:The Internet was really slow!!!

Review 55:We arrived and we got a free transfer to the hotel and the staff weresoo friendly I've stayed in a lot of hotels and never had friendlyservice like that everyone was really pleasant and nice!!! The room wasa great size and definitely worth every cent!!! We will be staying hereagain I wouldn't bother looking anywhere else!!!

Review 56:Whilst the hotel is close to the beach the path to reach it is a little rough in places

Review 57:Friendly, helpful staff Beautifully maintained gardens Spotlessly clean rooms

Review 58:We were only supposed to stay for one night, but stayed for 3 nights since we absolutely loved this hotel!! The facility's is top notch, and there is a great pool. The room was clean and cosy, and the shower had good water pressure. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They even drove us to town when needed. I recommend the Maragritas and the Mohitos! :-) I also recommend Aromas, the restaurant! Wonderful food and so inviting and friendly staff! Staying at this hotel you will not be disappointed! We would definitely book a room next time we are in Paros!

Review 59:Wifi could be improved The drinka were quite expensive at the hotel. We would have got more if they were a bit less expensive

Review 60:Everything! They have a great shuttle service that came to pick us up from the ferry! All the staff is amazing! Beautiful room and view from the hotel. Great breakfest! Wish we stayed longer!

Review 61:For this standard of hotel it was disappointing not to have a free shuttle run into Parikia. I found other hotels of this class (during our island hopping trip) all provided this service. If the hotel did this it would be perfect as it is quite a walk into town, especially the uphill walk back at night!

Review 62:Loved the pool, breakfast, room was spacious, very clean and lovely shower in our bathroom. Staff were all lovely too. I recommend this hotel.

Review 63:We had an amazing time spent at this hotel the location was great and the view of the bay breath taking. The staff gave us a great welcome on arrival and this continued throughout our stay they could not do enough for you. The hotel was spotless with a big comfy bed we will most definately be back

Review 64:Sometimes the wi-fi doesn't work that well.

Review 65:You can see the entire city from the balcony. Friendly staff that gives really good recommendations and attends to everything that you need.

Review 66:Time of year, there wasn't as many people around but that was expected.

Review 67:The staff really made our stay. They were so friendly and helpful and really went out of their way to connect with you on a personal level. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Review 68:-

Review 69:Probably the best hotel where we’ve been in the Cyclades till now. 1. POSITION: The position for us was great because it’s quite near the city center (5 min by motorbike), but at the same time it’s outside the crowd of the city. It is located just up the hill with a wonderful view to the Gulf of Parikia. Our room in particular was on the first floor with a balcony and a nice view. 2. STAFF: It’s not only the structure, but also the staff was really really kind and helpful… I remember MARGHARITA, who offered us a drink as we arrived at the reception and gave us few hints on what to do in the island and where to eat (in particular THALASSAMOU at Alyki). She is definitely a plus for the hotel. 3. SERVICE: The pick-up service from and to the port was for free and well organized. The swimming pool… I loved it. 4. BREAKFAST: It was just delicious and with great variety, plenty of different delicatessen: Greek yogurt, honey, cereals, homemade jam, bread, brioches (French donut), fruit and vegetables (like tomatoes and cucumber), cakes, local snacks, bacon and fried eggs and of course coffe, tea and milk… buffet style, perfect for anyone I guess. 5. ROOM: Spacious cute room with view (I think that the majority of rooms have a nice view). What I felt welcoming was that I could tell that it wasn’t just a room for tourists but it had a taste. The complex seemed renovated as the furniture in our room seemed brand new. The shower was nice (usually it isn’t in these islands) and the bathroom had also a small window. Waking up with the view on the gulf of Parikia was definitely a nice experience. So… to sum up: not simply a hotel for tourists but a place that makes your holiday even more enjoyable.

Review 70:- Absolutely nothing! Thank you so much to all the staff who made my stay so memorable.

Review 71:- The staff were so friendly and accommodating - couldn't do enough to help you - Room was lovely - clean and fresh looking with lovely private balcony - Gorgeous pool and patio with amazing views - Bar area also had great views with very relaxed setting - Breakfast was lovely and they even catered for my gluten free diet - Offered free shuttle service to and from the port and even offered lifts at other times - Although the hotel is situated a little way out of town it's in such a peaceful setting you don't mind - it was lovely to hear the cocks crowing and to also hear silence! It was a pleasant 15-20 min walk into the town.

Review 72:Distance from main shops, restaurants etc. Other than that everything was absolutely brilliant.

Review 73:Beautiful hotel and views from of the picturesque beach. We stayed in the Deluxe Room and it was just fantastic. Simple but had everything one would need including a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool, main beach and town. Hiring a scooter is the easiest way to get around (not that the hotel is far) but it is roughly a 20 minute walk uphill from the main street. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 74:If I had to say something in this spot it would be to let people know that the hotel is on the other side of the bay so you need transport to go into the main town but on that note the hotel provides transfers to and from.

Review 75:What wasn't there to like. The place was amazing. Rooms were clean and very nice. Service was impeccable. The staff were fantastic. Very helpful at all times. They supplied a pick up from the ferry and also drove us into the main town everyday if we needed it. Views were amazing.

Review 76:Can't fault the Akrotiri Hotel. My only minor gripe - It's distance from town with a difficult walk at night - but they were often able to give me a lift to/from town when taking/meeting guests departing/arriving on the ferry.

Review 77:Setting magnificent. Care and attention to detail in decor, presentation, cleanliness and maintenance of property and facilities excellent. Breakfast was superb, loved the little extra touches like interleaving the 5 types of bread, carefully arranging all the Greek salad ingredientson separate plates.... As for the homemade jam & marmalade mmmmmm. The staff though were the loveliest I have met at a hotel, genuinely warm, welcoming, caring & helpful to all their guests. Each is justifiably proud of the hotel, felt like the were all family. Deserving of a much higher star rating - a real gem, loved my stay. FHARISTO POLI

Review 78:The staff were exceptional and saw to our every need. Beautiful facilities and pool. Our room whilst small was very comfortable and serviced daily.Absolutely recommend this hotel.

Review 79:The staff picked us up from the sea port making our travel day very easy and relaxing. They welcomed us with drinks and a map of the island making great suggestions on food and places to see as well as finding us a great deal on ways to travel for the day. I highly recommend this beautiful location.

Review 80:The hotel reflects the beauty of the island. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely. Breakfast was yummy. A bit of a walk into town but very scenic. We found it very easy to drive around.

Review 81:I have nothing but kind words for this place

Review 82:This place is incredible. Could not believe our eyes when we arrived. The hotel is clean and definitely should be rated more than 2 stars. The staff are friendly and very attentive and the provided breakfast was a highlight. Our only mistake was only staying two nights. We did my want to leave.

Review 83:Was in Paros for a few days and stayed with a frien at Akrotiri hotel. The place is really beautiful, super clean and quiet with some bossa music playing in the background. The terrace and swimming pool have an amazing view on the ocean and 'montains' around. The staff is so nice and helpful, you can count on them to recommend nice places to visit as well as where to go for drinks or dinner! It was an excellent, would recommend to anyone! :)

Review 84:It should be noted that the hill can be tiresome, so get some form of transport or take comfortable shoes for the 20 min walk. The snack menu was slightly limited.

Review 85:This hotel has the most fantastic view of the harbour and is ideally located on the edge of town, but what makes it special is the friendly and efficient staff who work tirelessly to keep everything spotless and look after their guests. The food was tasty and plentiful and BBQ night was delightful and good value. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and stylishly simple.

Review 86:Slightly out on a limb for tavernas/restaurants although the walk towards the port is all downhill and within 15 minutes you are in and among it! Unless you are feeling energetic 5 euros is a worthwhile return taxi.

Review 87:Prompt collection and return from the port.Friendly staff.Great view of the port (we requested a sea view).Lovely room and bathroom and a shower screen instead of the dreaded curtain!! Nice pool and surrounding gardens, patio and sitting area.Very chilled and relaxing and would return definately

Review 88:Definitely need transport as its a few kms from centre.

Review 89:Helpful friendly staff Great views Nice pool Good breakfast Superb Fri night bbq Nice rooms

Review 90:FACTS - BATHROOM. 1. The area, excluding the shower, is under 1.5 square metres. 2. The levels of the bathroom and the shower, have been lowered by 18 and 14 cm respectively, to give sufficient height, due to an external stairwell that is located behind the bathroom and leads to the apartment above. 3. The shower is 65 cm in width and has a downward sloping ceiling (because of the stairwell). The sloping ceiling prevents the shower head from being swivelled fully outwards from the its stowed position in order to shower properly. 4. Several tiles were chipped and cracked. There were paint drips down some tiles and others had been partly painted over. The grouting between various tiles in the shower was badly discoloured in part and dirt deposits were plainly visible at the base of the shower. The cement surround to the shower waste was badly cracked and dirty. 5. The inward opening door to the bathroom could only be opened halfway due to the restricted area. 6. The toilet cistern and seat were made of inferior plastic, the latter being found to be broken when first used. Due to a design defect of the toilet bowl, body waste could not be flushed away, despite repeated attempts, and a brush had always to be used. THE PROPERTY. 1. A busy road curves around the side and back of the hotel. In addition there are several dogs in the near vicinity and a chicken run on the bounding property, which affects the enjoyment of tranquility. PATIO. 1. The majority of the chair legs on the patio area were badly chipped and/or scarred.

Review 91:Very good view of the harbour across to Parikai and a lovely large and deep pool. Good breakfast.

Review 92:the room it's a pity but the room 422 was with humidity, was settled between ground floor and basement with a window that opens in the middle of a path where the people pass by there. the bathroom hasn't any ventilation(natural or mecanic) and all day the room smelled bad. beds individuals separated.

Review 93:the personal super nice. when you arrives to the hotel they explain to you a summary of what to do depending the days you stay in the island. all of them very nice

Review 94:We loved everything, except the walk to town was a little far on extremely hot summer days.

Review 95:Picked up from the ferry terminal we were greeted with a friendly man, offering to take our bags. After a short trip up the mountains we were welcomed into the hotel with drinks. A member of staff provided us information about the island and everyone was extremely friendly, very different to what we experienced in other islands. The pool is wonderful, rooms are clean, there is nothing really to fault.

Review 96:Some distance from town, which wouldn't necessarily a minus point for some, especially those with transport. Slightly basic in some respects, although this affords its own charm. Fridge and aircon rather noisy at night, and bed a little too soft for us.

Review 97:Cheerful, welcoming and friendly staff. Great breakfast. Lovely pool. Charming dog. Peaceful and picturesque location a little way round the bay from the harbour. Well kept grounds and clean, bright and generally comfortable accommodation. A relaxing place to stay.

Review 98:Nothing

Review 99:Its my second time in Paros and second time also in Akrotiri Hotel! Its very difficult to find an hotel which make you feel at home and also with high professional services but Akrotiri did it well! This is the best quality price ratio you can find in Paros! Margarita Marouso and Panos are always happy to answer to all the request you can have. I cannot imagine going in another hotel in my next trip in Paros! Thanks guys for everything Mehdi and Cedric - The frenchies

Review 100:Location was not as good as we were expecting, a bit too long to walk in the summer heat or at night. One bed broke on the first night, staff aware and fixed each morning but broke again each night.

Review 101:Staff gave us free trips into and from the town at times. Small, sweet hotel, lovely pool and balcony. Staff very friendly.

Review 102:Breakfast - small, packed, and very hot place to eat breakfast in (NOT the view given on their website!). The worst, weakest coffee we have ever had and poor quality food overall. The balcony was very small and always covered in water from AC overflow. Bathroom door needed fixing since it could not close fully. Parking at times can be a problem.

Review 103:Balcony view, comfortable beds, nice shower and very pleasant staff.

Review 104:Wish they offered a transfer to the city center for a fee in theevening.

Review 105:Excellent value for location and amenities offered. Warm and welcomingstaff. Reasonably priced transfer from the port.

Review 106:Loved everything, except maybe bathroom could have been a bit bigger. They said they will be renovating these soon. They were clean and fine, just small.

Review 107:We had the most perfect stay at the Akrotiri in Paros. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hotel decor was very tasteful and most areas have a wonderful view of the bay. They have a lovely bar and lounge leading to outdoor area overlooking a lovely pool and they served drinks and dinner there until late. The pics on the website are accurate, unlike some other hotels, so we were very very happy. 10/10, best hotel stay anywhere!

Review 108:the breakfast is not so reach, the bathroom is a bit small..but in general nothing is bad!!

Review 109:I have really enjoyed my staying in Akrotiry...everything seems so special there..the structure is simple and clean, the view is marvelous, the staff kind and available (Margarita is lovely): Super recommended!!!

Review 110:Not the most comfortable of beds .

Review 111:The staff were incredibly helpful friendly and good humoured. Always smiling. Cleanliness second to none. The family dog is the cleverest I have ever come across . !

Review 112:We didn't mind this and knew when we booked it is a walk to town (15 minutes). Worth it for the views and quiet but this wouldn't suit everyone.

Review 113:Absolutely loved staying here. The views from the room was amazing and the facilities provided us with everything we needed. A good selection at breakfast, a good menu of drinks and food if needed (although we mainly went into town for food) and a great pool.

Review 114:From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Within minutes we were laughing and joking with them, playing with the best, most well trained dog I have ever met. It was completely relaxing and enjoyable from the moment we arrived. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and it's staff. The views are wonderful, the rooms are lovely, I can't fault it in any way. They have lovely cocktails too :)

Review 115:Hotel is quite far out of town, but if you hire your own transport like most do, it's not a problem.

Review 116:The view overlooking the town was amazing and the pool was stunning. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Hotel was lovely.

Review 117:What an amazing hotel, deserves 5 stars! Location is great with a lovely view across the bay. Room and bathroom were very nice. Staff are all very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was really good. Stayed 3 nights and have already booked for next summer! Would highly recommend.

Review 118:This was the high light of my vacation in Greece. I have stayed at expensive 5 stars hotel, but this was exceptional hotel. Beautiful place with such lovely staff. I recommend this place for everyone. Quiet, nice, sunny and just wonderful place for relaxing and sunbathing. I will definitive come back. And I did. We came back from Mykonos after two days. Just for the great atmosphere. Great for honeys.

Review 119:Nothing - everything was perfect.

Review 120:This was the best place I have stayed. The staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. The premises itself, even though it was a little out of town, was just an absolute pleasure to stay. It was the best part of my Greek Island holiday. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, staff excellent and helpful, premises ultra clean and modern. It does not get better than this.

Review 121:Very friendly staff that made you feel at home right from check in. Nothing was too much trouble assisting us with tours and hire vehicles. Great location overlooking the harbour.

Review 122:First visit to Greek islands. Took my adult kids and my spouse. Whole experience was great. The staff arranged day trips and rental car. Facility felt like home with a great pool and view. Only drawback is that you need to have a car to explore the islands, which you would need wherever you. Stay. I would definitely stay again.

Review 123:Bathroom was a little small, otherwise, fantastic.

Review 124:Everything. This is a great hotel. Perfect location just out of town, very helpful staff, well appointed room and delicious breakfast. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Review 125:Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful view. Pool area is superb.

Review 126:La piscine

Review 127:sweet and friendly personal and service, very familiar, cute dog and kitten, great view over parikia

Review 128:No tea and coffee making in your room

Review 129:Organization
