Reviews for Riverside Guest House

Review 1:Friendly staff, very clean, nice breakfast, good location, very good Indian restaurant just down the road. I was staying there because of work and will certainly book again. Also everything worked well, eg the bathroom was newly fitted and shower etc seemed like new

Review 2:Great location. Short walk to all Morpeths facilities. Made to feel very welcome by the host and hostess. Lovely hearty breakfast. Tastefully decorated.

Review 3:Facilities were absolutely spotless. A large, comfortable lounge was available for use. Excellent wifi reception. Large shower with lots of hot water. Amazing number of choices for breakfast.

Review 4:Nothing

Review 5:The owner was very friendly and greeted us upon arrival Very willing to advise and help with parking Offered advice on where to eat in Morpeth Very nice breakfast with lot on offer Very nice room with lovely view

Review 6:Parking is quite limited if you are travelling for leisure. You may well need to get up and move you car in the morning due to parking restrictions between 8;30am and 5:30pm on weekdays. Permits are provided but there aren't always spaces.

Review 7:Riverside is a well run, clean and well maintained bed and breakfast. The breaksfast is tasty and generous. Ask for a room at the back of the property if you would like a view of the river.

Review 8:Nothing!! Loved my stay!!

Review 9:Elaine was very helpful and understanding when traffic delayed check-in until after midnight on the day of arrival. She made me feel right at home and the whole stay was just wonderful!

Review 10:could not have window open when sleeping as there was noise from busy road outside at the front of the property

Review 11:cleanliness and varied choice at breakfast

Review 12:Lovely warm welcome. We were promoted to the best room for the first few days at no extra cost. House beautifully decorated including a comfortable lounge and bright breakfast room. Extensive breakfast menu with nothing too much trouble. Good local knowledge and very helpful in planning our activities to get the most out of our stay.

Review 13:the landlady, Elaine, is one of the nicest people to run a guest house that I've met. She welcomes you to her house and makes it clear that the comfortable sitting room is for guests' use, sets you at ease and makes a wonderful breakfast of any sort. The house is a few minutes walk from the town centre shops and looks out onto the river at the back. It was an incredibly convenient location. The place had a lovely atmosphere and was clean and well-appointed. Morpeth itself is a lovely small town.

Review 14:Nothing.

Review 15:Friendly and welcoming. Lovely ensuite comfortable bedroom overlooking river. Fabulous breakfast menu including American pancakes and vegetarian sausages. Great WIFI throughout. Parking permit provided for duration of stay. Short walk from centre of Morpeth.

Review 16:a relaxing break, with a very affable and accommodating Hostess. One minor thing to be aware of (which didn't bother me) is that the B&B is situated on a main route; if your room is at the road facing side, there is some traffic noise

Review 17:VERY minor bleats only : Our twin room was a wee bit cramped. But at the very good price, I can't complain. There are larger available, & still great value. Only some rooms overlook the beautiful river valley. Specify if you want one. Street-facing rooms are quiet with the windows closed, but if you are a fresh-air type the road is fairly busy.

Review 18:Elaine Lashman has made a beautiful and cosy home from home. She combines welcome with efficiency. New, modern fittings in a lovely old large Victorian house serving as a guest house for last 50 years. Beautiful, comfy residents' lounge and dining room. Warm rooms. Totally clean everywhere. The breakfasts are almost worth the whole price ! Parking (sometimes limited) on-street outside front door. Short walk from centre. Really excellent value. Very recommendable : we'd go again.

Review 19:Lighting in bedroom was not good for reading.

Review 20:Very friendly host. Comfortable room. Delicious breakfasts which included kippers as an option. Location on high ground overlooking the river was lovely.

Review 21:Couldn' t let dog out in a garden so had to get dressed and walk her first thing. Very minor point though and too many key fobs and I managed to lock myself out...

Review 22:Very welcoming and helpful letting me know the pub across the road welcomes animals which was great. Lounge felt like home too.

Review 23:Shower was not very good ,nowhere to hang anything in bathroom and no proper wardrobe. Bed was not very comfortable.

Review 24:Breakfast was very good ,nice view of river

Review 25:Elaine was welcoming and flexible,, we arrived quite late due to train times and a taxi dropping us at wrong guest house, but Elaine was waiting for us and could not have been more welcoming and accommodating . Our Room was very clean and comfortable , the en suite bathroom was spotlessly clean with plenty of towels and toiletries. Breakfast was included and there was good choice and Elaine cooked all to order. We really appreciated Elaine's flexibility regarding timings of check in and out , due to our personal circumstances .

Review 26:parking could become stressful. No specific spaces- permits given by hotelier but this only helped if there was a space. There is a public car park but this is out of sight and quite a walk from the B and B. The cost of the evening was relatively high to where we have stayed before but maybe this is the 'going rate' in Morpeth.

Review 27:room was lovely, spacious and 'olde worlde'. Clean and well presented. Breakfast was great. We were there for a ball but there were cyclists, ramblers- a mix of people- very friendly. we would come again.

Review 28:Everything was perfect, close proximity to amenities and staff really welcoming

Review 29:Hospitality,friendliness, cleanliness and comfort. An excellent place to stay.

Review 30:Noise from the road ad shared bathroom

Review 31:The landlady went that extra distance to ensure that we were comfortable and the breakfast she provided was excellent and not the usual cheap provisions of the larger hotel chains

Review 32:Excellent breakfast Flexible arrival / departure Email contact before visit Spacious bedroom and house full of character Friendly and generous host

Review 33:Cats

Review 34:Stayed here for 1 night on a cycle trip with x2 friends. Really warm welcome, whole guesthouse was lovely, super comfy and really homely. The owner was so kind and helped dry our soaked cycle clothes and shoes for the next day. We had to get up and leave before breakfast started but she was kind enough to leave out food for us to make our own. Nothing was too much of a problem. Had a well needed nights sleep in very comfy beds and the shower was fantastic. Highly recommend this place.
