Imaret

Imaret descritpion
Offering a unique location within a historical monument, Imaret has been beautifully restored to combine original Ottoman architecture with modern luxury.
Originally built in 1817, Imaret has been carefully restored to create a magnificent setting for a first-class residence. Every room and suite is lavishly decorated and appointed with Molton Brown candles and exclusive Bulgari toiletries. Original fireplaces complete the elegant interiors.
Guests can enjoy relaxed moments in the 3 courtyards and the beautiful outdoor cistern or unwind in the hotel’s spa offering soothing massages and a traditional hammam experience.
Guided tours of the monument, including the mosque and the house of Mohamed Ali, are also available. The intimate environment of Imaret’s tea room is the perfect place for afternoon tea, offering a fine selection of Fortnum and Mason’s teas.
In the evening, Imaret’s superb fine dining menu is complimented by an impressive wine list. Guests can enjoy beautifully prepared meals on the private terrace, whilst admiring stunning views of Kavala and the sea.

Reviews for Imaret
Review 1:Nothing. Just a bit on the expensive side, although a not for profit status hotel !
Review 2:Everything. Particularly the guided tour (hotel internal) and the Turkish Hamam, of course.
Review 3:We had the best Weekend in a long time, the hotel is gorgeous, the staff is by far 10 stars, theyr always with a Smile on theyr faces no matter what your problem is,i really have no words to descriebe how nice the hotel is,i would gave 1000 stars if i Could.
Review 4:Although we have reserved our table ahead we were given the worst table a new year's eve. We were far away from the music. It is hard to understand to give good tables to outside customers rather than people spending money on the hotel. Breakfast was also terrible. Half an hour wait for each type of egg. It was not possible to eat together. There is no service at all!
Review 5:Building and rooms
Review 6:The hotel has no breakfast buffet. A simple breakfast costs 20 euros per person, which is rather overpriced considering the mediocre quantity of the available items, eg two pieces of cheese the size of a matchbox, three slices of bread and four small croissants for two persons-you can ask for more from the waitress, but should the hotel guest be submitted to this process, when he/she has already paid a significant amount for his/her stay?
Review 7:the staff and the managing director in particular were friendly and extremely helpful and polite.
Review 8:I didn't like having to leave Imaret when the time came to continue our driving holiday
Review 9:the unique lay-out of the building, the terrace overlooking the pool, the ochre walls, the candles in the evenings, all the staff from the receptionists to the odd-job-man
Review 10:I thought the breakfast was not as good as i would expect from a 5 star hotel it was decent but not exceptional
Review 11:I liked the facilities the building and the spacious rooms.
Review 12:The breakfast is not up to the standards of the north greek cuisine and does not do justice to the rest of the package.
Review 13:Location, staff, building. It is a unique experience to stay in a monument. The renovation was superb amd it has respected the original structure.
Review 14:Not included breakfast. But only that.
Review 15:Staff. Serving. Breakfast. Exotic historical place.
Review 16:Herseyi sevdim
Review 17:Managment is rude
Review 18:turkish bath is excellent and so is the location of the hotel
Review 19:nothing!
Review 20:Everything was good but staff were amasing..
Review 21:To leave
Review 22:Everything
Review 23:Loved everything about it including the complete sense of peace and calm in the whole building, truly a gem and we'll be back.
Review 24:Hotel staff needs more experience. Not a 5 star hotel staff
Review 25:Imaret Ottoman Architecture Fantastic Room The pool
Review 26:It was such a unique and wonderful experience, I felt like being in a palace. I liked everything about that place, I definitely want to go again. The service, the food, the hamam...., well everything was marvelous.
Review 27:Hotel is in the old part of town, so not easy to get to if driving your own car in unfamiliar circumstances.
Review 28:This hotel is a fascinating historic site--a destination in its own right. If you want to pretend that you are back in Byzantium, this is a way to realize your dream.
Review 29:I mostly like peace at İmaret... It was a nice experience to be there... the mosque was incredible, indoor pool was so romantic and full of peace... gardes were great... Hotel manager was so kind. in fact I like everything about İmaret...
Review 30:=> lack of education of the staff (both in the service world and in general) => lack of maintenance in the room and some common area (e.g. previous mosque turned into a library) => rudeness of some staff => self-sufficience of the managers
Review 31:Hotel location full of history Very good spa
Review 32:No internet at all in the rooms. Old crt tv with only 5 Greek programs.Indoor pool was closed (Staff said it opens only during summmer??!!) andoutside one so cold. Rooms with garden view too dark. Cats getting inroom if you leave windows open (my wife is allergic to cats). Veryuncomfortable old beds). Overall we left more tired than we came in.Certainly not worth 350 eur/night.
Review 33:Location is within walking distance to all major sights. Good breakfastand helpful staff. General atmosphere of the hotel is relaxing.
Review 34:The Manager, who was welcoming enough but seemed uninformed about theunique building of which he has custody and was unable to give muchinsight about the region either. Fortunately his hard-working staff morethan make up for his deficiencies.
Review 35:Unique style of the building - a carefully and sympathetically restoredformer Koranic school. The staff (excepting the General Manager) werewell-informed, helpful, friendly and hard-working.
Review 36:The most exclusive service and attention to detail in a memorable setting. Candle lit courtyards and an oasis of a pool to immediatley relax the arriving guests.
Review 37:I liked every moment I stayed in Imaret. It is located in the heart ofthe historical centre of Kavala, close to all sights and monuments. Theentire complex of the hotel reminds of an oriental fairy-tale. Theplaces for quiet rest are all over the place, the solitude andpeacefulness rules the place. The room is decorated with antiquitiesthat give it a unique sense. The tea room and the library are gorgeous. The staff is very helpful and professional.
Review 38:Some rooms need a little more lighting for reading purposes
Review 39:Great atmosphere, beautifully appointed rooms, friendly staff, impeccable service, great comfort
Review 40:The setting, the monument, the character, the attention we received by the staff. The place is magical.
Review 41:This is a perfect place. A historical monument restored with respect and outstanding taste and attention to detail. The staff is refined and well groomed. The food at the restaurant was excellent. After almost thirty years working at an international institution and having been in top rated hotels around the globe I do not get impressed. I was impressed by the Imaret.
Review 42:Poor breakfast but silver forks and knives.
Review 43:Lobby, bar are excellant!
Review 44:perfect staff, it was a fantastic stay, thank you very much
Review 45:Some difficulties with parking our automobile.
Review 46:Excellent service all around
Review 47:mükemmel restore edilmis
Review 48:Top quality, but far, far too expensive.
Review 49:The atmoshpere
