Reviews for Morpeth Court Luxury Apartments

Review 1:No view from the ground floor apartment we were in

Review 2:Excellent for access to Morpeth, nice and quiet in the apparents, with good off street free parking .

Review 3:The free parking, wi-fi, and location for Northumberian coast and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Didn't have time to do Hadrian's wall - will have to come back.

Review 4:Nothing - a good experience - will be my place of choice when in the area again

Review 5:The building itself is a magnificent structure (an old county jail) and the apartment was comfortable and of good quality. When I needed assistance, called the number and was responded to immediately. The ambiance of the place is right up my street.

Review 6:Very warm in room couldn't open the windows no lighting from the street to the apartment door. Minor things that wouldn't stop us booking again.

Review 7:Location cosy had everything we needed

Review 8:Kitchen area a bit cramped

Review 9:Excellent location 2 minutes from centre of Morpeth, but opposite beautiful park + on site parking. Attractively furnished. Train and bus stops for Newcastle very close.

Review 10:Room 9 was very small and the bathroom sink was next to impossible to wash in since it was so narrow, water ended up splashing all over. Manager told me other rooms have much more room.

Review 11:The manager was extremely friendly. A surprise to find just the right amount of food in the fridge for a wholesome light breakfast. Fruit, cereal and breads. Coffee and tea also provided.

Review 12:Couldn't really fault anything. If I was being picky the outside was not attractive as it could have been as wooden boards surrounded front .

Review 13:Location was ideal, close to shops and restaurants. Cosy accommodation with everything you need for an overnight stay.

Review 14:Everything, having breakfast in the fridge was fantastic as not expected, loved the park walk, and easy access to restaurants and groceries. Carol was unreal made you feel like a friend, thank you

Review 15:Ideal place to stay in Morpeth, a few steps from town (at the Costa coffee end). Very friendly welcoming staff. Room is compact but very well designed, has everything. Great value for money. Would highly recommend.

Review 16:The building looked derelict not like the photo, also right next to a very busy road. The sink in the bathroom was extremely small and we couldn't have a window open at night as the apartments are all on the ground floor so there was no fresh air and the apartment was quite dark.

Review 17:The apartment was clean and the lady looking after it was very friendly.

Review 18:I don't know how this apartment can be described as luxury.the self catering facilities were very poor you were almost encouraged to bring in takeaways.

Review 19:Morpeth itself was ok we were travelling around it rather than staying in it.

Review 20:Lighting a bit dim in bedroom and no windows to open in this room so could get hot and stuffy on warm evenings.

Review 21:Well furnished, self-contained apartment with loft bedroom. Close to town and nearby great restaurants.

Review 22:We were pleasantly surprised by these apartments we weren't quite sure what to expect, the whole apartment was immaculately clean and the breakfast in the fridge was very unexpected, great touch! Definitely would recommend

Review 23:Tried the place across the road where the rooms were unclean with numerous cigarette butts outside the window. This is the only place I will use in future

Review 24:The only thing I could fault was the bathroom was very small and a little too compact.

Review 25:Quirky room, everything you could want in the apartment for a short stay. Very clean. Excellent location. Pam the lady in charge, so friendly and welcoming.

Review 26:Hot water doesn't run for very long so lengthy showers aren't plentiful.

Review 27:Imposing building comprising a converted court house and local gaol, the apartments are cosy with every convenience cunningly positioned to maximise space. Comfort, cleanliness and creativity have transformed this place into a series of excellent self catering apartments. I would definitely return.

Review 28:Good location close to the town centre. The lady we met was very friendly and had put complimentary breakfast in the fridge. I think we had one of the smaller apartments but it was still nice and made our short stay very comfortable.

Review 29:Tv had audio comentry on constantly with subtitles & couldn't get off at all tried everything.

Review 30:Was lovely felt like own place rather than hotel.

Review 31:Found the bed very hard too sleep on,couldn't fault the size of the bed,the biggest I've seen, could hear noise from next door,at 4am,just unlucky I think, but would definitely stay here again.

Review 32:So unusual accommodation, loved the small kitchen under the stairs,(room9),

Review 33:The place was cleaned each day but there were areas of dust that had not been cleaned for some time. The kitchen area was small but ok however the fruit that was supplied for breakfast was not fresh and some of the blueberries, and grapes were off/bad.

Review 34:The location is handy for the train station, and Morpeth town centre and there is free parking.

Review 35:I'd have preferred the room to be warmer and the bed to be a little softer.

Review 36:The building is stunning. The room is really impressive with very good facilities. Excellent shower.

Review 37:The hot water tank was smaller than I'm used to. but once we realised we managed.

Review 38:very friendly, helpful staff. clean, and welcoming. we'll definitely be back.

Review 39:The kitchen wasn't so much kitchen more of a multi function work surface. I was scared of dropping the toaster in the bowl if water underneath. There were no wine glasses and so had to drink our prosecution out of a tumbler.

Review 40:The breakfast that was provided was excellent. Everything that you could want for was left from cereal to crusty bread. The apartment was in a good location which made it easy to pop into town. The apartment was warmed up for our arrival which was appreciated as it was very cold outside.

Review 41:Staying at Morpeth Court was a fantastic experience, it was a really good alternative to B&B, as we were staying in Morpeth for a few days I wanted more than just a bedroom as a base. Good continental breakfast was left in the fridge daily, we will definately stay here again if in the area

Review 42:Nothing, it exceeded expectations.

Review 43:The owner was very welcoming and nice. The accomodation itself was cosy and was well presented. We would definitely stay here again.

Review 44:Sofa was too small

Review 45:Warm welcome to our stay in the old court house/prison in Morpeth. Our small apartment had everything we need for a nights stay and it was interesting to read about the history.

Review 46:Externally building needs repair, spoilt with boarding and generally scruffy surround

Review 47:Excellent location for town centre Nice to come back after good evening meal to peace & quiet followed by a restful nights sleep. Appreciated well chosen light breakfast

Review 48:Don't let the front of the building put you off, some building work required so fenced off, doesn't effect the accommodation.

Review 49:Fantastic accommodation good location, will be staying here again

Review 50:Nothing really, if I was going to suggest anything, it would be that the kettle would be better on a small table . I didn't feel comfortable with it being so close to the hotplate and sink. Also lacking was a peeler and microwave dish.

Review 51:Unusual but very comfortable, very clean and perfect for a couple of nights away. Kitchen area was very small but we were able to cook with a bit of planning. Morpeth is also a lovely town.

Review 52:Friendly staff. Perfect location. Comfort and cleanliness combined with privacy was like "home from home". Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of staying in Morpeth's old courthouse/gaol and intend to stay there whenever we return to our native Northumberland.

Review 53:It is very hard to say anything negative. The only slight thing was the size of the kitchen area wasn't big enough to prepare a meal - but with so many excellent places to eat nearby this really wouldn't be an issue.

Review 54:Lovely staff were very welcoming. I was surprised to get a continental breakfast which included cereal and fruit and the real coffee was excellent. I loved the thick towels and fantastic power shower. The bedroom area had plenty head room and ample cupboard space and the bed its self was extremely comfortable. These apartments are a great place to stay in Morpeth. They are just a short stroll from town and all its amenities and with safe parking. Thank you - we will be back

Review 55:Decided to stay Morpeth Court as we were attracted by the character and history attached to this beautiful building. The old court has been tastefully converted into luxury serviced apartments, ideally located just minutes walk from Morpeth centre close to restaurants, bars and shops. It is a very safe place to stay with a code given to access the apartments. The bathroom was huge and beautifully furnished along with plenty soft white towels to use. The small kitchen area included a microwave, fridge and plenty crockery, glasses and cutlery. Although we opted to eat out prior to our stay there is a small hob if you did want to cook for yourself. There are so many take-aways and restaurants close by to take advantage of, why cook? The living area is cozy with a tv, sofa, table and chairs, there is also free wifi. Stairs lead up to a gorgeous mezzanine bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a dressing table. The bed was very comfortable with beautiful linen, we had a great night sleep. Would highly recommend staying here. If you want character, history and enjoy the nicer things in life then I would say stay here, we certainly would book again and will recommend to family and friends.

Review 56:Cobblestone entrance - hard to move luggage Very few facilities in very small kitchen Quite warm in upstairs bedroom Bed large, but bit on the hard side

Review 57:Very helpful staff (manager) Clean Roomy Breakfast replenished each day

Review 58:There was no aspect I could fault.

Review 59:After our wedding we stayed here initially due to it being local to our venue. It surpassed our expectations, the room was beautiful (the owner told us it was originally the jailers quaters), quiet and even had a small fully equipped kitchen. Being a gemini apartment the bedroom was upstairs overlooking the lounge. We had a substantial continental breakfast including french press coffee-the little details made our wedding night perfect. The owners were brilliant-a proper northumbrian welcome!

Review 60:Entry signage was obscured by rather unsightly boarding so we missed it at first. Kitchenette was a challenge to cook in as it was sighted under the stairs but, nevertheless, incredibly well equipped.

Review 61:Fabulous and unique building. Manager was so warm and welcoming and we wanted for nothing. So lovely to have breakfast supplied and we just loved the clever design and character of the place. A small apartment but a real gem.

Review 62:As a small, 5ft 1in, person I couldn't reach the top shelf of the kitchen area, similarly couldn't reach to open the window but it didn't matter as husband could reach!

Review 63:Secure parking, closeness to town centre. Unique setting as it is the old gaol.

Review 64:If I had to nit pick, pillows were a bit hard, which was a shame as the bed was very comfortable.

Review 65:Although compact the room was very nice, loved the curved ceiling above the mezzanine and the feeling that it was once a cell. (History was given about the room/building) Kitchen facilities were good and breakfast, although only continental, was very good with a variety of options Shower room was more than adequate (I would not use a bath anyway) A very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Review 66:The kitchen is really unimaginably small but for us adequate. Noise of other guests abusing their doors with slamming was obvious at times

Review 67:Pleasant owners. Good location. Quiet. Clean

Review 68:Small TV VERY VERY small bathroom basin. Very difficult to use Poor in bathroom shelving . Kitchen " difficult to use".

Review 69:Location Comfort Bed Kitchen well fitted out Continental Breakfast . !

Review 70:through no bodys fault but my own unfortunatly i couldnt sleep as i forgot my inhaler and the room was very warm so i ended up watching the TV all night.

Review 71:the entire building was a fantastic place to stay.

Review 72:Not being able to watch TV in bed, we are early risers so keeps us in bed a little longer But no deal breaker

Review 73:Got more than we expected Would go back again

Review 74:Pam was lovely the whole stay was lovely can't recommend enough 5 star all the way. I was on business this time but will definetly be back with my wife next time.

Review 75:The outside of the Court House is having some repairs to the stonework - so isn't quite as attractive at the moment as the photo implies, but once you're inside you can't see what's outside so don't let this put you off booking!

Review 76:The apartment was very comfortable, with everything we needed for our 2 night stay, a continental breakfast left in the fridge for us was an added bonus I hadn't expected (didn't read the small print). We arrived late and so didn't actually see the staff, but they had left us a note on how to get in to the apartment and where to find the breakfast - couldn't really ask for more.

Review 77:Mobile phone communication difficult- which could be a bonus!

Review 78:Characterful property, neatly laid out- lovely ( non- cooked) breakfast provided each morning. Close to town.

Review 79:nothing

Review 80:Very clean and quiet

Review 81:Very small shower room, the wash basin in particular

Review 82:Spacious sitting area, cooking own food facility, superb large bed, very warm and helpful staff

Review 83:I thought the main entrance was too dark.

Review 84:Living room was small but adequate for us. Bedroom was really comfortable.

Review 85:Sleep comfort mattress was very hard.

Review 86:location easy access friendly welcome good value and clean

Review 87:very friendly reception, lovely rooms verywell appointed. comfortable and lovely building . will be back

Review 99:Outside needed tidying up

Review 100:Very different to other b and b s

Review 101:The surrounds ruined of this superb property ruined by an untidy fence an untidy car park making it looking closed..

Review 102:Everything, v comfortable.

Review 109:Quaint small but everything needed for a one night stay and would use it again

Review 110:Close to everything we wanted

Review 111:A very comfortable stay with a helpful and pleasant lady who was the ideal concierge.

Review 112:Tv didnt work this was minor though

Review 113:The luxury and the location

Review 114:TV did not work, bathroom a bit on small side

Review 115:Quirky apartment, comfortable bed with large bedroom. Safe parking at location.

Review 116:We liked the unusual room type and the layout with the mezzanine floor.

Review 117:Very cramped, no kitchen area. Tiny sink and one ring cooker

Review 118:Location great and easy parking

Review 119:It is unusual place and historical

Review 120:Leaving

Review 121:The location

Review 122:The boarding around the front if the building is a little off putting, but don't be deceived
