Reviews for Argonauta Hotel

Review 1:Everything was pretty good according to what you pay...

Review 2:Great location, staff very friendly, nice and quiet place in the heart of the old city, just by the port.

Review 3:No bad experiences at the Argonauta.

Review 4:On our September trip to the Greek Islands, I tried to find lovely and interesting places to stay at which were within walking distance of harbors and ferries. We did not want to be bothered with renting cars, hiring taxis and depending on hotel transfers to and from ports. The Argonauta was one of those places...it did not disappoint; in fact, it was much better than I expected because our tastefully decorated room with a balcony was large with good air circulation (there is air conditioning but we did not need it) and it was perfectly located at the entrance to Parikia, the old town of Paros near the harbor. The complimentary breakfasts were delicious and substantial: the Greek yogurt with fresh fruits and honey resembled a sundae; there were equally fresh eggs and a choice of sides to vary the daily menu. The Argonauta's breakfast tables are located across from a century-old bakery and pastry shop which made for great people-watching to begin the day. Take note shoppers: the Argonauta is also located near some of the best design and accessory shops in Parikia.

Review 5:Traveling solo can take more energy. The Argonauta is close enough to the port and more quiet for its location. I felt relaxed and well cared for. It's web images are spot on. This is a well designed modern hotel with a beautiful canopied common area to sit, read and share time with other guests if desired. The Argonaut is family run. The staff is communicable and wants you to be happy so they are available for you. The breakfast that is offered with your stay is healthy, delicious and generous: fresh squeezed juice, fresh local eggs, creamy yogurt honey and fruit. The best stay I have had since traveling Greece for a month!

Review 6:Breakfast: though products were of good quality, service was very poor, up to 30 minutes to order, dishes like ham or cheese missing for three days... Very fresh welcome adds to the experience. Simply non professional but it is outsourced!! The hotel is fantastic but must definitely change this.

Review 7:Location in Paros close to the port in the very hearth of the city, close to all restaurants. Hotel facilities, nice room, perfect cleanliness, outstanding welcome...

Review 8:breakfast options were limited and we had to pay for a second coffee

Review 9:Great staff at reception, we have enjoyed all the recommendations received from Elena!

Review 10:No view. Small room / could barely open suitcase in the room. Shower would play up if other people in other rooms are also showering at the same time. No easy access with car

Review 11:It was very calm and serene, right in the midst of town with everything at your doorstep. I cut short my week elsewhere just so I could spend my last night at Argonauta before flying home. The staff were absolutely amazing and the breakfast was really great!

Review 12:Wifi a bit patchy

Review 13:Central location Lovely staff Elegant design Fabulous breakfast Very good deli restaurant on the ground floor with discounts for guests Very clean, excellent pleasant cleaner

Review 14:Small shower, but we found this the case in most hotels.

Review 15:Freshness, and cleanliness of room. Nothing was too much trouble. Shared areas were well designed. Breakfast included and brilliant!

Review 16:It rained in May in Greece - unbelievable!

Review 17:We were revisiting the island and hotel after our last visit in 1980. The family were really welcoming and staff very helpful. The hotel has been really well updated and as ever close to everything in town.

Review 18:Wifi does not auto-connect, you need to log on every time you come back in range. Rooms overlooking the square may get some noise from the restaurants/cafes

Review 19:Location, just a 2' walk from the port of Paroikia. Beautiful rooms. Good quality toiletries. Double glazed doors/windows. Lovely and shady terrace to relax. Excellent breakfast and restaurant (ERGON) within the premises. 10% discount for guests dining at the restaurant. Satellite TV available . Our host, Tasos, very friendly and helpful (trained in London)

Review 20:The shower should have a glass door not a curtain! Unpleasant to shower with a curtain , especially if the shower is as tiny as this one and the curtain keeps klinging to your body

Review 21:Cosy atmosphere, location

Review 22:We booked Argonauta Hotel because it is very close to the Port but they changed us to an apartment which is further away. The apartment is very spacious but quite basic and the shower has no screen/curtain so that the bathroom was all wet after we had shower! And there are ants.

Review 23:Breakfast was great! Many many choices and fresh juice!

Review 24:After booking we were sent an email by the owner telling us that there was an error with the bookings and asking if we'd be willing to take an upgraded suite in their apartments nearby. We agreed, thinking the apartments would be bigger and better. However upon arriving there we were disappointed, as the apartments were not nearly as nice as the hotel and our room wasn't much bigger (although the courtyard was very nice), and the apartments were a little bit of a walk through windy residential streets. After complaining the issue was resolved and we were moved back to the hotel on our second night. We liked it so much there, we extended our stay.

Review 25:This hotel was situated right in the main square, few minutes walk from the port, right in the centre of Parikia and close to restaurants, shops and a great bakery right across the alley. The staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was clean and nicely decorated in simple clean furnitures and neutral colours (although not as nice as the pictures, but hardly any place is). The hotel had a beautiful modern aesthetic. The breakfast was amazing!

Review 26:Nothing!

Review 27:The hotel is beautifully decorated and very likely newly refurbished. We only stayed one night as we had to stop in Parikia due to the ferries but we regretted not staying longer. The hotel was extremely clean, the staff were helpful and the breakfast was delicious!! The location could not have been more perfect for our evening out exploring the gorgeous old town and for catching the ferry the next morning (its just next to where the boats leave).

Review 28:Relatively small room

Review 29:Center location Clean Good value for money

Review 30:Excellent location, delicious breakfast

Review 31:Great Location!

Review 32:The bedroom is too small and doesn't have a curtain which makes the bedroom dark. And bathroom is too small too.

Review 33:Very relaxing n very professional staff. Would definitely recommend it. Location is perfect. Breakfast awesome

Review 34:Staff not very welcoming, very little balcony without chairs and table

Review 35:The location, the cleanliness

Review 36:Gorgeous hotel; fab breakfast

Review 37:The staff were super friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean ,modern and I recon the best located if you want to stay in the town.

Review 38:friendly staff excellent breakfast design of the hotel location in Paroikia - very centrally located

Review 39:Nothing.

Review 40:Good location, nice hotel and room, friendly staff, good breakfast.

Review 41:Wifi didn't work well in room. No sea views.

Review 42:The hotel is right next to a great bakery which was open early for breakfast. It is also very close to the buses (1min walk), which is handy for day trips.

Review 43:Requested a sunny room but was given rather dark room at the rear of the building. Staff seemed reluctant to engage in conversation other than essential information.

Review 44:Great décor of muted pastel greens and blues and shabby chic furnishings. Great location only minutes from the port. Hotel was very clean and tidy.

Review 45:Some noise from the next door bar downstairs in rooms overlooking the bar

Review 46:Great location on the main square in Parikia A really nice taste of typical Greece Clean, well designed rooms and décor Food was excellent

Review 47:Hotel had clearly let the room we had booked several months ago to someone else, and we were offered a choice of the two rooms left when we arrived. Room safes all have a number allocated by hotel - and it seemed to be the same for all!

Review 48:Very conveniently placed for port and buses. Nice breakfast.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:The hotel has very central location. It was very clean and the people was very friendly. If i visit Paros again i will certainly stay at Arganauta hotel ..

Review 51:I'm old school - but there was no lift. Lugging up a suitcase after traveling through two countries already was hard enough, but taking it up to the first floor was abit draining. The rooms were smaller than expected for the money we paid - there were three of us and it felt like we were put into a room for a double with a cot shoved in there. Our visit was mid-May and already quite hot and sunny. The air conditioner didn't actually blow air and both nights staying there were a discomfort to my friends and I as it was simply too hot to get a good night's rest. I think if you were traveling after summer to early May, it'd be perfect. Overall it's expensive for the facilities, but the location is central and unbeatable if you're backpacking or ferrying around.

Review 52:We'd endured a long and tiring ferry ride and just wanted to get to our hotel. From the port, it is literally a two minute walk, everybody knows it and you can easily be directed. It was such a refreshing surprise. It's also right on the main street so you have access to a whole range of restaurants. cafes, gelateries and bars. The breakfast service was brilliant and quaint. Being served from their cafe with their delicious yogurt parfaits, cakes, and fresh breads with cafe attentive service was lovely. The decor was adorable and even better than pictures. Little meeting areas outside the rooms were a nice touch, with comfy chairs set out to mingle with other guests.

Review 53:Wi-Fi signal is not strong in all the rooms.

Review 54:Clean, elegant, comfortable. The greatest advantage is location--itis 5 minutes from the port. The staff is extremely friendly andhelpful. A nice restaurant is part of the hotel and gives discountsto hotel guests.

Review 55:Nothing comes to my mind..................

Review 56:The warmness of the welcome and the family feeling. The allways present attention for your needs and the politeness of the staff. The exquisite restaurant and it's style of local raffine cooking. The beauty of the decoration in general. Situated in the perfect place for any demand.

Review 57:Wifi kept dropping out which was annoying. Small shower but manageable. No lift & rooms were on 1st floor (again no big deal) just awkward withheavy bags.

Review 58:The location was superb - 5 min walk from port, with fabulousrestaurants close by. Shopping right at the door. Room opened onto avery quaint courtyard area. The room was very basic but clean. Nicerestaurant downstairs for breakfast. Taxi to Tango Mar beach 4 euro or10-15 min walk. Ferry/boat to Antiparos right at the port - 4 euroreturn. There was also a ferry to beaches on the other side. We enjoyedour stay here.
