Reviews for Alkioni Hotel

Review 1:if there was a fault to moan about it would be the lack of a draining board on the kitchen sink, difficult when washing morning pots. we were in room 13 but it was not unlucky.

Review 2:I found this on the internet and what a gem,the staff were very friendly especially Elda and the pool area was great plenty of beds and lovely pool.we used hotel as base whilst we found all the great beaches in the south of the island and great spot for shops and traverners. will certainly be returning to the Alkioni in the near future. thank you everyone.

Review 3:The hotel could do with a bit of refurbishment. The bathroom in particular was very tired.

Review 4:It was close to the beach and not far off the main island road. Staff were very friendly.

Review 5:The room was clean but very basic and a bit worn-out, so do not expect anything fancy. The breakfast is very simple and limited: toast, jam, yoghourt and cereals.

Review 6:Lovely pool area, good location, friendly staff, daily cleaning

Review 7:Absolutely nothing bad to say about this hotel

Review 8:What a Gem of a place in a fantastic location in a quiet setting, and have to say the hotel far exceeded what we expected in reality. The hotel is in a quiet spot just outside the harbour village of Katelios which is itself is a great base for a relaxing holiday. The Alkioni rooms are perhaps what you would consider basic but more than adequate (First floor room 16) with air con included and a good balcony and the rooms were cleaned every day. The Pool area was immaculately kept with plenty of sun beds and had a pool bar serving reasonable priced food and drink. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and help make for a great holiday A 100% recommendation from us

Review 9:The staff were miserable and unfriendly, apart from the girl who works in the afternoon/ evenings, she is lovely. The shower was tiny, the drain was blocked and nothing was done to resolve it although I let the cleaner know about it. Leaking air conditioner.

Review 10:Fantastic pool, the kids loved it! Walking distance to taverna's, supermarket, beach

Review 11:This was our second time at the Alkioni. It's a great place for a relaxing holiday.Great location, staff and accommodation. We will be returning again next year.

Review 12:Not enough variety of food.

Review 13:Pool lovely, plenty of sun beds. Friendly atmosphere, snacks easily available. Good if you wanted sun or shade and very nice terrace.

Review 14:We did not have any negative experiences

Review 15:The room was clean and tidy and staff very friendly. For us this was a short two night stay so we didn't have a chance to use the pool. However it looked very nice and the garden/pool area was well presented. Great for a no frills budget stay in clean comfortable surroundings.

Review 16:Breakfast was a real shame, bread, ham & cheese, jam etc 1st few days then buffet style with no ham or cheese. The bread wasn't always very fresh either. Great hotel but forget about having the breakfast - there is a bakery just opposite so not really a problem to self cater.

Review 17:Large studio apartment with adequate self catering equipment and a good sized balcony. Very clean and comfortable and staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 18:The breakfast is very basic and the rooms are a little dated.

Review 19:The location to Kateilios town and the beach. The pool was also very nice and the hotel was quiet

Review 20:Breakfasts a little repetitive.

Review 21:Friendly, quiet, lovely pool, plenty of sunbeds, very conveniently located for village centre, restaurants, bakery and nice bars

Review 22:No complaints about it!

Review 23:No words could describe this perfectly organised hotel. Some friends recommended it to us, so I strongly recommend it to everyone for its view, its pool, and of course its staff... An amazing experience!

Review 24:Everything was as they were promised!

Review 25:Due to lack of time,we made a reservation at Alkioni hotel, without knowing anything!!! Everything was perfect though! Juckline was very polite and arranged for us a car. The room was cleaned every single day!!! The pool was so calm and peaceful and the pool bar was the ideal place to have fun till late!!! I recommend it to everyone that want perfection and good prices.

Review 26:Having to come home.

Review 27:Great position. Lovely clean swimming pool. Nice comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Breakfast on the patio. Clean towels every other day.

Review 28:katelios is a really small town and there is notthing to do in the evening katelios beach its not so interesting compared to a lot of other beachs around the island

Review 29:everything smooth without any kind of problem very quiet and peaceful place 15 minutes by scooter to skala beach

Review 30:spiders in the room, bugs outside. we were bitten everytime we sat in the lobby and outdoor garden under the grape leaves

Review 31:the amenities were basic, but clean and good. and the rooms had a cozy home touch to them. the rooms get cleaned daily. the pool is lovely. the atmosphere is family oriented and the garden is just growing, but it really adds to a comfortable resort setting. the neighborhood was lovely, quite and serene, 5 min walk to the beach and a drive to other towns with beaches : lourdas, skala, poros, etc. Skala was our favorite, and Lourdas was nice for watching the sunset.

Review 32:Hotel basic but clean. Fridge very noisy.

Review 33:Location. Easy walk to bars and restaurants in Katelios. Close to beach. Some nice places to eat. Staff at hotel friendly enough and helpful when we needed ferry info. Only there 3 nights. No real problems at the hotel. Pool quiet!

Review 34:No air-con unit in bedroom of the larger apartments

Review 35:Hotel is within easy walk of village Small & friendly Lovely swimming pool Functional rooms Very helpful staff

Review 36:Taxi drivers . Too fast answer phones when driving and very expensive

Review 37:Weather and atmosphere great.

Review 38:Bathroom was tiny and very impractical

Review 39:Proximity to a nice beach and to many restaurants

Review 40:All good

Review 41:Location, pool

Review 42:No negatives at all

Review 43:My friend and I booked a last minute holiday (4 days in advance!) The Alkioni was perfect for us - a short walk to the fabulous village of Katelious. Studio was fine - kitchen area a bit smaller than normal but that didn't bother us too much - we only open a bottle of wine and cut a bit of cheese and tomato! Got clean towels 3 times in a week and cleaned every day. Fab pool, nice lady (Jaqueline, owener I think). Had lunch at the pool bar once - not too much choice but perfectly fine. All the sea front Tavernas are good, particularly Taverna Katelious and Blue Sea. We didn't try Jimmy's across the road even though it has great revues - just like sitting at the water's edge for our evening meal.

Review 44:We only booked for one week.

Review 45:Very friendly staff and owners. Nothing was too much of a bother. The pool and surrounding garden area was clean and well kept. Plenty of sun beds, so no need for towels on beds before breakfast. Good selection of food from the pool bar which was open until 11pm. Rooms were cleaned every day and the bed had a comfortable mattress. Hotel very close to village with several restaurants and sandy beach. Bakery across road for freshly made cakes for afternoon tea. Will definitely return next year.

Review 46:Reception and bar closed at 8pm which didn't bother us but might be a problem for others. Plenty going on in Katelios into the early hours if you want that!

Review 47:The hotel was quiet and friendly, with owners who couldn't do enough for you. Exactly what we wanted. The pool was excellent, and the balconies discretely shaded. Well worth a visit!

Review 48:A lovely relaxing hotel only 5 minutes walk from beach and lots of tavernas. Exactly as expected from the photos. Pool is great. Owners are wonderful! We left a phone behind and they posted it back to us with no problem.

Review 49:Our room was a little small (especially compared to the huge balcony, easily as big as the inside accomodation, a strange design) and the bathroom was cramped. Occasionally there was a shortage of hot water (no worse than any other 2* Greek hotel I've stayed in). The hotel in general was showing it's age a bit, nothing catastrophic, just looking a little 'tired'.

Review 50:The hotel was within a 5-10minute walk of the sea front and its associated tavernas, easily accessible from the road into the village (not busy at all) yet quiet and peaceful. The brilliant Jerry's Eleniko taverna was just across the road as was the bakery. The pool was a really good size and DEEP (must have been at least 10 or 11 feet for the majority). Our balcony (room 20, 2 bed studio) was huge and had genuine sea views, albeit with the odd tree obscuring some. We had a few teething problems, all of which were put right promptly. On the rate we paid, our AC was included (not sure if it was for everyone). We had a toaster, not everywhere we've stayed before has had. Late checkout (we were lowish season) was not an issue and no cost.

Review 51:From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we felt completely at home, extremely relaxed, very happy and we knew we had made the correct choice. Jackie, her family and wonderful team made our holiday from start to finish and we so look forward to our return there next June after our wedding. Thank you all.

Review 52:The Brekfast is very siple.

Review 53:Quiet,Nice view,The Bed's are good for this standard. A short walk forme The Nice Beach Who was also very quiet in August.

Review 54:Wasps were a bit of a problem in early August but no big deal. Water pressure and availability if hot pressure was rather sporadic but agin no big deal and quite typical in Greece for this style of accommodation in my experience.

Review 55:The pool was great. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Good aircon and great location in terms of proximity to everything

Review 56:The shower curtain was dirty as it was right next to thetoilet..I'll say no more to that. They hung a picture frame ontop ofthe main bed and one night it fell on my head. I was lucky the glassdidnt smash.Being that reception closed early, ( nobody around) and thishotel is in a very small village, we didn't know how to contact anydoctors. When I told the owners the next day they laughed it off andwhen I politely told them I didn't know how to contact a doctor, they laughed saying there were plenty of doctors! Of course but therewas no information in the hotel room informing us of where these doctorswere. I was then handed a card with the owners mobile number. A bitlate! The hotel was over priced for the quality and the area it was in.Photos for some hotels are glamorized. Paid for breakfast and only atethere once. Just Greek biscuits, toast and coffee. Not many choices ofrestaurants around. Recommend for families to go to more popular areaswhere they can easily access amenities especially in times of emergency!

Review 57:The only good thing was the pool..as per the photo.

Review 58:Apartment has limited cooking facilities but there is sufficient to get by.

Review 59:Friendly relaxed staff. You can do things at your own pace. Pool was great but very deep!

Review 60:Wasps! Not that they could be helped and the owners did try to deter them by different means.
