Reviews for West Point Hotel
Review 1:We didn't find the bed very comfortable. A glass/plastic cup would have been welcome in the bathroom for toothbrushes. No marmalade or jam at breakfast.
Review 2:The hotel was in a good position for getting about to other places. The owners were really friendly. The room was a decent size.
Review 3:Owners and staff were excellent very friendly and would go out of their way to make stay more comfortable and went out of way to buy extra breakfast items. affordable prices and good location for us. very accommodating with our dog who is not too good with strangers being a rescue dog
Review 4:,room very basic, no home comforts, no mirror in bedroom, no pictures on wall, bedding washed to death and faded, bed very noisey creaking all night,no choice no menu on breakfast get what your given,
Review 5:location was good, staff friendly enough, breakfast was ok,
Review 6:Nothing at all, really enjoyed the break
Review 7:Brand new king size bed and bedding, room was clean fresh and a good size, bathroom was large with a great shower, breakfast was freshly cooked and lovely, can't fault the hotel at all and its run by a lovely couple. It's only a short walk to shops and a few minutes from the beach so it's well situated for holidays
Review 8:Bed very hard and uncomfortable. Pillow lacked filling. Curtains were thin with no lining, hence a restless night due to too much light in room.
Review 9:Rooms were clean and had everything necessary for 1 night stay. Breakfast was good and wholesome.
Review 10:This maybe a tad nit-picky but could do with thicker curtains in the bedroom as the light streamed in. Bed side lights didn't work in my father’s room but told the owner and the bulbs had gone. Also having the radio or some music on in the breakfast room would make it less uncomfortable.
Review 11:Stayed 1 night with my father and sister. Owners were lovely and advised on places to eat. Situated on a quiet street but within walking distance of restaurants and shops or just a short taxi drive. Private parking which was easily accessible. Comfortable beds. Lovely full English breakfast and choices of cereal.
Review 12:As we where going to be leaving at 05:00ish their was nothing to take with use. We have found with this job we can be up at 03:00 and heading out to our next event, and with this we are given a packed Brunch. Not looking for a fried breakfast 1st some this to get you on the way. Also the bathroom toilet seat is uncomfortable.
Review 13:I like the fact that due to our last event we traveled over from Peterborough to our destination, and nothing was a problem. The beds are AWESOME
Review 14:Wi fi didn't work but not major issue
Review 15:Jan was very friendly and helpful, sorted out early booking in for us and also made allowance for our late arrival for breakfast......bacon very tasty!!
Review 16:Very accommodating, friendly and inviting. Staff could not do enough, giving details on local info, very relaxed with children and a clean and safe environment.
Review 17:Small bathroom. Curtains not easy to open/close. Unable to open any windows. Overall decor of the hotel in need of refurbishment.
Review 18:Landlady, Area, Big rooms with modern TV & free WiFi. Good breakfast.
Review 19:Friendliness, cleanliness and overall welcome. Jan the proprieter could not do enough for us. Would definitely stay again and will be recommending to our friends.
Review 20:Very friendly, but relaxed atmosphere. Our room was spotless, large and very well presented. At breakfast, my wife was offered a vegetarian option, which she enjoyed. All the food was of good quality and freshly cooked
Review 21:Wasn't anything to not like.
Review 22:Lovely stay 5 minute walk from the sea front. Friendly staff even got up so we could have breakfast before our trip to 'go below' would stay again.
Review 23:Dated and mismatched decor. Quality of breakfast items was low and 1 hour period for you to head down for breakfast is kinda short.
Review 24:Free parking and Wifi. Local amenities close by. Very clean.
Review 25:My wife and I travelled to Wales and stayed at West Point Hotel for two nights. Owners Jan and Mike were lovely, very welcoming and informative. Room was fine, clean and bright tea and coffee making in room. We were even given a sausage for the dog at breakfast! Lovely stay, made very welcome .
Review 26:Personally , I should have researched the location, as I was on foot. It took me an hour to walk home from the Arena. I was very tired, as I was at the front , of the Main Road, and didn't sleep. I had a 3 train journey ahead of me to get home.. I'm sure if you are at the back it would be a lovely quiet stay, I was just unlucky.
Review 27:Breakfast was lovely , and very quick. plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Value for money for a single occupant.
Review 28:Nothing, the staff were really helpful the night I arrived in suggesting where to go for dinner and giving me directions on how to get there.
Review 29:I had to be at a meeting at 8am in Colwyn Bay and I had booked for bed and breakfast but breakfast is usually served at 8am. What I liked about the owners was that they made me a lovely cooked breakfast at 7.15am so I had plenty of time to enjoy my food before dashing off to the meeting and the long journey home to Teesside. They even offered me a lift to my meeting!!!
Review 30:Decor...truly depressing.
Review 31:Very dated decor verging on student accommodation feel to it. Will never feature in any style magazines. However, overall ok.
Review 32:Shower poor, no hot water when I arrived, towel rail hanging off. There must have been a 6ft radiator under the bed sheet, very hard and puppy mattress. Poor value for money
Review 33:The breakfast was very good
Review 34:The man who met us on arrival was either new to the business or just not a people person - not rude, but not really "in the room" either. With the room keys, we were presented with a receipt for the payment which had already been taken from my card - we would have preferred to pay in cash.
Review 35:The lady of the house is very friendly and attentive. Our dogs were given a sausage each for their breakfast. Rooms are big and clean with a good stock of tea, coffee, and milk.
Review 36:Room 4 - bed needs new mattress and bed linen. paintwork needs attention not really inviting another visit. Maybe I'm fussy!!
Review 37:My stay was 1 night arrived late evening left early next morning. Hotel was warm, generally clean, food OK
Review 38:The smell of damp and food. The single bed meant for a child used for anadult. The rude attitude of staff. The cold room with heating not on.The hairs on the headboard. The toothpaste stuck on floor aroundhandbasin and on side of surrounding area. The handbasin at an angle sosoap and toothbrush fell into basin nowhere to put anything. No lift tothird floor and wasn't told when booking online. The value foodbreakfast with hair the only item ok was the egg yolk When trying todiscuss the situation by phone the owner was so rude to my wife and hungup twice so childish of her (we have the recording) my wife was did notraise her voice once. The whole situation was bad even being told toleave the next morning when we were booked in for two nights this wastheir mistake and after loading car with cases they realised and triedto turn it around. The property is not by any means what should becalled a hotel even a B&B is stretching it. I would never want tostay here again and I am still trying for the second nights refund, butI guess money is all they are interested in. In my opinion its a bitlike the hotel Del boy stayed in on Fools and Horses "BellaVista"
Review 39:Leaving the place behind
Review 40:The room was a little small, but very comfortable
Review 41:Very clean and comfortable. The owner was very knowledgeable about the area, recommending places to visit. Good hearty breakfast to start the day. If guests didnt want a full english breakfast, they were always given other options. The hotel was warm and welcoming, and in a good location for travelling around North Wales, either by car, bus or just plain walking
Review 42:nothing
Review 43:For our (self, wife and dog) needs just ideal place to stay. Perfect location for walking to beach and along prom to Rhos, & into Colwyn. Room was good size, clean, tidy, bathroom good. Area is quiet. Great thing is that owners are dog friendly which is very welcome so if you have a dog & need great place to stay in Colwyn then West Point Hotel is IT, (or even if you don't have a dog). Highly RECOMMENDED
Review 44:tiny TV no dvd player rubbish wi-fi breakfast service slow bedsheets uncomfortable shower was little more than a trickle tiny bathroom no pegs or towel rails in bathroom only 1 peg to hang clothes in bedroom chest drawer handles broken so couldn't open decor was dated
Review 45:close to beach clean good sized room friendly staff
Review 46:Public areas were locked Limited car park spaces meant we had to park on the road No mushrooms on breakfast! Décor & furniture dated
Review 47:Friendly staff who were willing to help with all requests Everywhere was clean The towels were big! All linen & towels smelt lovely! Free Wi Fi Close to seafront Family room was very spacious
Review 48:The bathroom needed a little TLC but it was spotlessly clean so was fine for a one night stay.
Review 49:Very attentive service at breakfast which was good and well cooked. Everywhere was very clean.
Review 50:Single room was extremely small with a bed light that wasn't even connected to the mains. Was transferred to twin room, with fairly poor bed light, and sash window with broken mechanism so couldn't make it stay open even a crack. Rather than get it mended, a chain had been fitted which should have allowed it (not en easy thing to do) to be held open about 3". This was broken (but mended the next day). Furnishings and decorations mostly very tired. Many mistakes being made during breakfast service.
Review 51:Had a very comfortable 2 night stay at Westpoint Hotel. Our room ( for 2 adults and 3 children ) had ample space set out as 2 doubles and a single. Easy to find with off road parking. Breakfast was very good and served very quickly. Jan and Mick are very friendly.
Review 52:Nothing
Review 53:Very convenient for my plans. Basic but adequate room, every thing I needed/required to hand. Extremely helpfull people whenever required.
Review 54:Wi-fi very poor; out of range for the duration of our stay. Greeted by a gentleman who was very unfriendly. Musty smell in communal areas.
Review 55:Clean accomodation with comfortable room and beds. Good breakfast and hostess who was very friendly and helpful. Good parking and handy location for Llandudno
Review 56:Room that we stayed in would have like to be able to open more than one window. More selection at breakfast.
Review 57:Brill Proprietors.(Mick & Jan). Easy to find. Not far from the town. Near to beach. Good clean rooms. Made to feel welcome. Given 2 rooms next to each other. Come and go as you please as you got your own set of keys. Information given on places to see and eat.
Review 58:They clearly are satisfied with a 2 star establishment and aims to avoid getting 1 star instead of aiming for 3 stars. It shows in everything from slow internet to the worlds smallest TV.
Review 59:Lost of free parking Spacious room
Review 60:We were in Room 11 which was very very hot. unpleasant nights sleep on our 1st night, however problem solved with a fan on our 2nd night. Breakfast room was also a bit warm when full of guests.
Review 61:Handy for town centre and Eirias Park which was the reason we were visiting the area. Staff very helpful and friendly. sorted a fan out for our room on our 2nd night. Breakfast was lovely. No problem with parking which was another bonus
Review 62:Update of furniture ( but doesn't affect comfort of hotel)
Review 63:We liked the location as we could go to the nearest town Llandudno without being in the hustle and bustle of it. Jan was lovely and really made us feel welcome and breakfast was yummy
Review 64:The shower attachment was designed for tall people so perhaps a lower rung could be fitted.
Review 65:Good location with a short walk to the sea front, friendly owners, peace and quiet enabling a good night sleep.
Review 66:Smarties in the bedside drawer from some time in the past. Water pressure was a bit poor.
Review 67:Breakfast too early. Early check out on New Years Day!
