Reviews for Amorgion Hotel

Review 1:The mattress was really hard, which seems to be the norm in Greece, but seen as we stayed 10 nights, we asked and they brought us a softer mattress for the following night, which was really nice of them. So, not really a complaint, but make sure you ask for the softer mattress if you prefer :)

Review 2:Wonderful little hotel, with easy access to both Katapola (by foot) and Chora (with a car or scooter). Georgia and her staff are super nice and did everything to make us comfortable and happy! She can arrange a car or scooter rental for you and offers free transfers to and from the port, which is super easy. The breakfast is not included but is well worth the asking price. We will definitely go back if we return to Amorgos, and I will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Review 3:A perfect moment in This hôtel, the personnel is so nice and always ready to help you. Very calm place and beautiful ... If you Want to pass a good moment in amorgos go in This hotel That is in the middle of the Island

Review 4:Room is furnished with taste, comes with complimentary toiletries and welcome traditional drink and sweet. From the small terrace you can enjoy a view over the pool and the bay of Katapola. Very professional and helpful staff.

Review 5:Located in the middle of nowhere, meaning that you have to get a hire car or walk a long way for lunch, dinner, beach, etc. The price of the hotel is high in comparison to the apartments or hotels on the island (from up to 15 € per person/night). The mattrass was great, pillow too high, bathroom only with bathtub had to sit down to take a shower. We had choosen the hotel for the pool, but you don't really need it because the sea is awesome, clean and calm to swim in.

Review 6:Really great pool, and friendly staff.

Review 7:The hotel is at a 10 min walk from the harbour and its restaurants, but this is no issue if you rent a car.

Review 8:We had a lovely time in Amorgos and the Amorgion hotel: it is located at a very quiet spot with an astonishing view on the see, we enjoyed the hospitality of the owner Geogia and her personnel, and everything was very well catered (breakfast, snacks,...)

Review 11:Beatifully located in a valley with a great view over the sea. A short walk from the port of Katapola where there are restaurants and a decent beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful with island tips. The breakfast was magnificent!

Review 12:So many wasps trying to steal our breakfast! There must be a nest near the breakfast area, this was not a normal number of wasps.

Review 13:Lovely pool and sun terrace with gorgeous sea and mountain views. Spacious and nicely furnished room, A bit of a walk into Katapola for dinner or to catch the bus, but it was a pleasant enough stroll. Friendly staff.

Review 14:It was a 10/15 minute walk into town.It was dark on the way back (great for stars), fine if you are with people but I would probably get a taxi if I was on my own. There were taxis available, so this should not put you off.

Review 15:The room was beautiful and the view was spectacular, great value for money. We were met at the port by the helpful and pleasant staff. The pool was lovely, wifi worked well and there was a breeze to offset the sun. Breakfast was basic but tasty. The night sky was incredible - the stars were so clear. We were island hopping for our honeymoon and this was hands down our best stop. The island was stunning, the restaurants delicious and our trip coincided with the local Raki festival with traditional Greek dancing and tasters of the local speciality drink. I would definitely come back.

Review 16:It didn't bother us but the hotel is away from the main tourist area. The uphill walk could be a challenge for some people but it is well worth it for the views and cool breeze. Most people hired cars or used taxis.

Review 17:Georgia and her staff were extremely attentive making a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent serving the best Greek yoghurt with fruit ever! The pool area had stunning views and a welcoming cool breeze - sunbeds were always available. The rooms were beautifully decorated. Most of all Amorgos was the traditional Greece we experienced 30 years ago - a secret we don't really want to share!

Review 18:It's little bit nowhere. When we came for the dinner, the road wasso dark that we didn't see anything.

Review 19:Stuff was great! So helpful! Food was good and the pool area wasclean. Breakfast was basic greek youghurt with honey and fruits, breadand omelet.

Review 20:- excellent breakfast - we booked a garden view room and got a free upgrade to a sea view room. - nice view over the bay (and therefore not in walking distance from town. Prepare to rent a car which, however, you will most likely need anyway on the island)

Review 21:The view from the room was in a parking lot and an Iron fence

Review 22:Nice, quiet hotel at hillside, very helpful and friendly stuff. Very good equipment.

Review 23:Low pressure showers

Review 24:Staff is great Quality breakfast, great cocktails and nice pool

Review 25:Very friendly, great views. Room cleaned every day. We would stay again.

Review 26:+++ for the Breakfast +++ for the people working at the hotel +++ for the view and the swimming pool

Review 27:Slippery floor tiles round the pool for little children

Review 28:Friendly host, superb view, great service

Review 33:Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice location with beautiful view, clean rooms

Review 34:A very nice place in the wonderful island of Amorgos , very nice people.

Review 35:Had no transfer to the port on our way back.

Review 36:Everything was great. friendly staff. would return and stay a week

Review 37:The stuff was very friendly and the breakfast was rich with tasty homemade ingredients. We will definitely recommend for relaxing vacations!

Review 38:Top hotel on a top location, clean, friendly, nice atmosphere, super pool... All in all just great. Walk to town is 10-15 minutes.

Review 39:Nothing

Review 40:View, location, breakfast, rooms, service ...

Review 41:In the evening nothing to do, poor bar service with lack of drinks or snacks.

Review 42:The Staff, the view.

Review 43:Nothing at all to complaint about.

Review 44:The staff is really helpful and friendly. The rooms are very cosy. The breakfast by the pool is a must!

Review 45:Awesome view Away from the main hub but only 5 min walk Staff we super helpfull as we had a prob with our ferry and they sorted it all out

Review 46:The near surrounding could have been a bit more organized but hey we are in Greece right.

Review 47:Great place with wonderfull staff. Clean rooms and great breakfast, not the classic buffet but fresh made toasts and omelets. The hotel is nicely placed on the mountainside with a great view of the bay. Even though there is about 1km to the center there are no problem to walk down for a dinner even with a smal kid. Love this place and can recommend It 100%

Review 48:As most guests all came to breakfast at 10, the staff had a chore trying to keep up with eveyone's orders, so if you are a late riser, be patient.

Review 49:The owner, his family and staff were hospitable, warm and accommodating. They made our visit so pleasant and authentic. The place was nicely designed and peaceful. We were sad to leave such a charming place and people.

Review 50:Exchange the shower curtain :-) ...

Review 51:Really nice hotel slightly outside town, but still walking distance. Rooms are very high standard for the Kyklades and very big compared to many other hotels - where they would be categorised as suites. Staff is super friendly and the breakfast is outstanding in quality as well - everything prepared to order and not the usual buffet. Pool is clean and quite big as well. Plus, if you don't know Amorgos yet, go there. It is the most teriffic island of all Kyklades.

Review 52:Rooms a little on the small side. The road needs paving on the last 200m.

Review 53:Nice clean hotel with very good features for amorgos island. Great view and really quality breakfast. Excellent place for relaxation.

Review 54:Out of the way, you absolutely need a car or scooter, buses are too far. On a dirt road.

Review 55:Quiet, countryside setting, fresh breakfast. Beautiful view from pool and some rooms.

Review 56:What's not to like?

Review 57:Total chill out hotel just outside Katapola with fantastic pool

Review 58:Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, nice clean rooms, great pool.

Review 59:Very nice hotel, quiet place. Room was clean and big enough. Good breakfast. Lovely sea view.
