Reviews for Bryn Woodlands House

Review 1:Outstanding, absolutely excellent 4 star B&B accommodation. Immaculately clean, very nicely decorated, number of small nice things like e.g. proper fine glasses in the room, first class bathroom, etc. Beautiful breakfast, very nice and friendly owners.

Review 2:The staff were great and very friendly and the dining room had lovely furniture and was nice and bright and also spotless. Infact the whole hotel was spotless. I liked the four poster bed!

Review 3:Nothing, but booked because it was listed as having restaurant and bar facilities and there were none. Mistake on one of the many websites looked at.

Review 4:Extremely helpful staff. Clean, comfortable.

Review 5:Very cosy hotel, clean, and easy to find. Owners fantastic, helped us with any problems. Switched on lights in rooms prior to our late arrival, a touch of home! Got up early to make us breakfast on a Sunday as we had an early start. Very good breakfast, freshly cooked Would recommend, and definitely would stay again.

Review 6:I didn't like Coming home. I wanted to stay longer.

Review 7:The staff simply couldn't do enough to ensure we had a fabulous stay. Welcoming, friendly, courteous and helpful. The rooms were beautifully decorated with lots of little luxuries and we slept really well in a gorgeous four poster bed. Lots of choice for breakfast, all perfectly cooked with quality ingredients

Review 8:Just Colwyn Bay wasn't quite the 'quaint little seaside town' we were expecting that I remembered from when I used to go on family trips when I was a child, sadly.

Review 9:Loved Bryn Woodlands, great breakfast and very friendly hosts.

Review 10:We where disappointed to find that the double bed had two single mattresses. And there where no indicated on the shower to show which way was hot and which way cold.

Review 11:The owners could not do more for us we had a warm and friendly welcome and despite my limited mobility where very accommodating. The breakfast was first class very tasty.

Review 12:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 13:Everything, this was the nicest Place we stayed in on our two week tour of Wales. Lovely Hosts that made us feel most welcome.

Review 14:Owners very welcoming and accommodating. Mark of a good room is good bed. We had a great sleep in a a fabulously clean and spacious family room. Good range of breakfasts. 10/10 for full cooked breakfast. Box of chocs on arrival was a lovely touch after a long journey !

Review 15:Didn't have a bad experience at all but if if I could change one thing it would be the mattress which was a wee bit lumpy and we didn't feel we could possibly say anything because everything else was great. They would get 10/10 otherwise.

Review 16:The family who own the hotel were the most helpful and friendly people. The hospitality was brilliant. The breakfast was fantastic.

Review 17:Nothing,excellent stay

Review 18:Everything. Great breakfast.Very friendly owners who did all they could to make our stay a great one.Very clean and comfortable. Will definitely go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend !!

Review 19:Wifi a bit temperamental. Missed out on cooked breakfast one morning due to arriving 10mins late. Car parking at front v tight.

Review 20:Nice surroundings, room, staff & facilities

Review 21:not under hotel's control, but chiming church clock on every hour, especially 12 chimes at midnight a bit of a pain.

Review 22:welcoming staff, nice decor, great tasty breakfast, lovely en-suite bathrooms.

Review 23:Perhaps improve room biscuits & breakfast coffee to get 10/10 !

Review 24:Warm welcome.. made the start of our anniversary weekend really special. Close to several restaurants & the sea front. Parking always a bonus, Would recommend for anyone wanting an overnight stay whilst visiting N Wales or families wishing to enjoy the beach

Review 25:Very nice B&B, excellent, friendly hosts. Comfortable room, really comfy bed and good breakfast. Central location within easy reach of shops and a good base to travel out to other parts of Wales.

Review 26:The proprietor and his family were wonderful, very helpful and kind to us. they recommended a great restaurant for us, and were terrifically helpful at all times. An all around lovely time, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I wish we had been able to stay longer!

Review 27:Nothing

Review 28:Joel and Tracy were really welcoming, room was fine location great. Kids loved the bunk beds - perfect location for exploring the Orme without having to stay in Llandudno . Would stay again many thanks

Review 29:A lovely bed and breakfast, food excellent. I'm vegetarian and my breakfast was fantastic also. Staff very friendly and helpfull. We used here as a Base to explore the surrounding area.

Review 30:There was nothing we didn't like about our stay. Thoroughly enjoyable. If I had to make a criticism then the only thing I can think of is there is a beautiful church facing and the clock chimes every hour, but to be fair it adds character and charm

Review 31:Bryn Woodlands is everything and more! Far exceeded our expectations, superb, friendly, extremely helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble, the whole place is spotlessly clean and room was very comfortable and well thought out.

Review 32:Tiny two rooms connected, old furniture, the single bed wasn´t confortable

Review 33:Nice and helpfull personal, great, excellent breakfast, the best one!!! Easy parking.

Review 34:The car parking was ok but could have been a problem. A tight squeezefor a long car.

Review 35:Very friendly, excellent breakfast (the choice was remarkable) and welllocated for our needs.

Review 36:Made us feel welcome from the moment the door was open. Advised us of good quality pub/restaurants even getting a 10% discount at The Station. Involving all the family at breakfast making us feel comfortable and important. A great stay.

Review 37:When there were no cabs gave me a lift to my friend's house. Great location for town centre and station. Good breakfast menu, loved the duck egg and local ham.

Review 38:Shaver sockets in 2 rooms didn't work.

Review 39:Friendly atmosphere, excellent breakfast, hosts couldn't do enough for you. Rooms clean, warm and well furnished.

Review 40:We selected Bryn Woodlands because it was near the RR station and a short taxi ride to Bodnant Gardens. Joel & Tracy were considerate, kind and efficient hosts. Joel is an excellent cook serving lovely breakfasts. They have made connections with local businesses and provided helpful information. We didn't want to leave the family room set-up. It was perfect!

Review 41:The furniture in the rooms was lovely but a little less of it would have made more room for bags and movement. The wardrobe could not be used as it was blocked by chairs and table

Review 42:The location The breakfast the staff

Review 43:the place has a good atmosphere. family run business and very friendly. they have a spacious room with luxurious bath and toilet en suite. we slept well with the comfy bed and the breakfast was delicious.

Review 44:The room was big very clean, the bed was enormous and comfortable. And there was a generous sized enterprises suite.breakfast was piping hit. And Tracey and Joel were really helpful and friendly

Review 45:The family that run it were lovely, our room was very clean and was really nice the deluxe double made us feel like it was somewhere a bit special but the price was really reasonable. And the breakfast was fantastic with loads to choose from, will deffo be going back!

Review 46:Didn't like being woken up at 05:30 to 06:00 church bells ringing on the hour outside bedroom window was added to by kids running & screaming along the corridors at 08:00 don't mind children but they should be kept under control or supervision robes in wardrobes very tiny would fit a child not a a grown up Was under new management the new couple really nice people friendly & helpful wish them well with their new venture hope they input some modernisation

Review 47:Overall pleasant stay for what we needed parking not brilliant was a struggle even though they say have their own parking ok if you have a small vehicle

Review 48:Nothing. It was sad to leave such a nice place!

Review 49:Owners were pleasant, hospitable, accommodating and helpful. We would stay here again without question!

Review 50:Very cosy and well heated rooms which were much appreciated after being out in the cold. Everything was clean and neat, the staff friendly and welcoming. We all enjoyed the hearty English breakfast.

Review 51:Wasn't anything to dislike

Review 52:Room was clean, comfortable & welcoming, staff were wonderful & even drove us to the pub that they'd recommended for food, even though it was only a short walk, such a happy comfortable stay that we had, everybody was friendly without being over the top, will definitely be returning & would highly recommend :)

Review 53:The accommodation could not be more conveniently located for one travelling by public transport. The clenliness was outstanding. The dining room is splendid.

Review 54:Couldn't fault it!

Review 55:Hermione was the perfect hostess, showing us to our beautiful adjoining rooms (2grown-ups 3 kids) before kicking off a game of tag! Brilliant! Our boys made a new best mate in the 1st 5 mins. Rooms were so pretty with a linking interior door so we had a bit of grown up space to enjoy our champagne (we didn't though ... Fell asleep.. DOH!)

Review 56:No evening meal served under normal circumstances. However, on a previous visit the landlady did cook for me which was much appreciated. There are also Italian and Indian restaurants within walking distance. Parking is limited I would guess to around 4 cars.

Review 57:This is the 3rd time I've stayed here, which probably says it all. It's a lovely old house with a B&B feel about it. But it's so much more. Clean, beautifully furnished rooms with a period feel to them. But with all the modern facilities you would expect. Lovely breakfast and a friendly accommodating landlady.

Review 58:The wifi reception was intermittent but we were at the far end of the hotel so this might have been the reason

Review 59:It's difficult to find appropriate accommodation with two young children but they were very accommodating - the room had a split with an adjoining door which was great. I would recommend.

Review 60:Parking was very very tight, anything bigger than Corsa-you done! For the number of rooms the parking facilities left a whole lot to be desired !! The booked room was dissapointing, barley enough room for the bed, bathroom extremly small. Room was very dusty! A change of room was necessary and forthcoming.

Review 61:After inital frosty receiption, staff were friendly. breakfast was alright, plenty of cerials ect.

Review 62:Traveling is never easy at the best of times, traveling with a young baby can appear almost impossible. The staff were helpful from the start. We stayed in the luxury room although im aware they have family rooms available. A travel cot was provided with ample bedding and and the room lived up to its name it was a large room and as you would expect clean and tidy with a great king size bed in the centre. the decor was warm and the en suite was a good size also, the whirlpool bath added that extra level of comfort ( our son found it highly entertaining ). The breakfast was a good home cooked afair with a meaty sausage and ample bacon ( excellent provision was made for our son with delicately cut toast soldiers and the offer of scrambled eggs and cereals. All this with the added bonus of no extra charge. All in all it was an exceptional stay under what can be difficult circumstances . A definate thumbs up!

Review 63:Wi-fi was a bit hit and miss in the room.

Review 64:Very friendly greeting on arrival, room fine and facilities excellent. Superb breakfast......will stay here again without question.

Review 65:Nothing comes to mind

Review 66:Just round the corner from the town centre . A short drive to the prom .There were lots of lovely nick nacks throughout the b&b and all spotless . A very comfortable bed in a cosy room.Breakfast was spot on .Can't fault it .

Review 67:It was all fine.

Review 68:We enjoyed our stay very much (family of 7). The rooms are clean and nice. Breakfast was generous and tasty. Kind hospitality. High value and reasonable price. Good location for traveling to Snowdonia National Park!

Review 69:Dead Moths on floor in bed room and bathroom there when we arrived and still there when we left so hoovering not done properly or at all? Shower drain very slow. Quality of decor in bedroom not matched by that in rest of hotel. Mattress cover old and worn. Front door lock difficult to use but not explained even though known about. Needs a notice on the door.

Review 70:Friendly staff Interesting decor in bedroom. Breakfast good.

Review 71:Rude hostess with complete lack of personal skills. 'Full English' was one egg, one sausage, one bacon and 'mushrooms' was 1 button mushroom cut into 4 pieces. We felt like we were a nuisance the whole time and couldn't wait to leave. Every time someone on our floor flushed the toilet we has to listen to ten minutes of it going through the pipes.

Review 72:Felt like a very well thought out themed Victorian hotel, ideal for many local amenities. Four poster bed had a nice look but wobbled way too much.

Review 73:What's not to like?! Homely environment enhanced by professional approach. Well appointed with a hearty b/fast to end my 1 night stay. I would be stumped if asked to suggest an improvement.

Review 74:My only criticism is that it could do with a bigger mirror near a plug socket! Only a Minor irritation though.

Review 75:Exactly As we expected for a a single over night stay -good double room with all usual amenities. Full Breakfast the next morning was delicious!

Review 76:We stayed for 3 nights in a compact room which had a 4-poster bed. The bed needs a new mattress as on one side, the springs were pushing up and could be felt.

Review 77:Many thanks to Gordon and Sandy for giving our stay a personal touch with fresh flowers in the dining room and everywhere was very clean. CCTV over a small car park at the front was reassuring. The hotel is in an upmarket road 5 minutes walk from the high street. The hotel was very busy and managed to retain its olde world charm, enhanced by the owners standards.

Review 78:Although the hotel advertises free parking there is only room for three cars so it's first come first served. There is parking available on the street between 18.00-08.00 and all day Sunday. Also, not the hotels fault but Colwyn Bay is a run down place with no amenities at all. The council are spending millions on a new sea front and leaving the rest of the town to fend for itself. Not a place to stay for more than a day or two.

Review 79:The room was very cozy and a fair size for the two of us. The bed was comfortable, there was plenty of storage space, the Wi-Fi reception was good, TV picture good, and we had the best shower we have had yet in a B&B anywhere. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. There was families with small children staying but we didn't hear any noise.

Review 80:It is easy to see why Bryn Woodlands won the best value B&B in Channel 4's "Four In a Bed". Apart from the scrumptious breakfast (we had Eggs Florentine with eggs poached to perfection and delicious home-made bread) this guest house has masses of original art work on its walls and lots of books, which surely betoken the cultivated tastes of its owners. Sandy the proprietress kindly upgraded us to the most opulent room in the establishment with its four poster bed draped in organza. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we should ever re-visit Colwyn Bay.

Review 81:Due to heat, we were in a front room, windows had to stay open, noise from traffic, people and birds (not hotels fault) Noisy squeaky floor boards

Review 82:Décor, size of bedroom and bathroom (room 6) choice of breakfast menu

Review 83:Only the small top window in our room opened and not the larger one due to the design. Unusually however we had very hot weather hence the need for some cooler air!

Review 84:Very friendly and relaxed. We felt very comfortable and at home. Would certainly visit again if we're in the area. Excellent breakfast too!

Review 85:That we arrived too late to really enjoy the bar ....traffic from london was hideous.

Review 86:Staff were really helpful and genuinly lovely people! Breakfast room is beautiful as was the food. Great bed and breakfast. Comfortable clean rooms, loved the family room with the 2 adjoining rooms and two bathrooms.

Review 87:Good location for visiting the north west of Wales - car essential and you need to reserve parking space. Good breakfasts to start the day with plenty of choice.

Review 88:Unusual, luxurious and very comfortable room (we had the 4-poster bed) and the owners have added some thoughtful little touches. The breakfast menu offered exceptional choices and both ours were excellent. Beautiful and interesting pictures and artwork pieces throughout the hotel. Wished we were staying longer and would definitely stay again.

Review 89:Nothing, great hotel, lovely hosts.

Review 90:Greeted by the owner on arrival with a huge smile and warm welcome. Shown to our 4 poster room with ensuite bathroom, couldn't be happier! Very luxurious and very clean! Excellent breakfast! One of the best hotels we have stayed in, highly recommended, will definitely stay there again if we are ever down North Wales way!

Review 91:Very friendly staff and lovely breakfast

Review 92:Made to feel very welcome, comfy bed, quiet room to suit small children. Good location for exploring the area.

Review 93:Spotless B&B with very welcoming hosts. Ideal location for visiting Colwyn Theatre.

Review 94:The drive access to the rear parking was very tight for a large car. It would be helpful to widen the opening.

Review 95:Great food and excellent hosts.

Review 96:nothing

Review 97:Lovely hosts, great breakfast, location close to Colwyn Bay station.

Review 98:Very welcoming host. Lovely breakfasts. Comfy bed.

Review 112:Lovely people and a lovely place to stay.

Review 113:Better shower would be an improvement

Review 114:Lovely welcoming family running b&b and lovely room :)
