Reviews for Best Western Tiverton Hotel
Review 1:Nothing to complain about, will always stay there when in the area.
Review 2:Staff are very friendly. Received a free upgrade as they recognised I had stayed before. Breakfast very good.
Review 3:Cleaning staff opening doors (2 at a time)and letting them slam shut without entering rooms - trying to wake guests in order to finish early?!!! This was 2 hours before normal check-out time.
Review 4:Inexpensive and good location
Review 5:Only negative was the fact I felt very near to people in next room as everything very audible. However I slept well and no other complaints.
Review 6:Lovely friendly welcome from staff member on reception. It was Boxing Day and I had endured a long tiring drive from the north so it was appreciated. Nice clean and well decorated spacious room.
Review 7:£10 per dog per night seems a bit excessive, originally put on first floor which does not have a lift, and reception had not noticed we had 2 dogs. On arrival there were 4 people in reception but it took several minutes before we were acknowledged . My wife found the sheet in her bed was dirty and had not been changed, so she needed to go to reception to get clean sheets and re-make the bed herself.
Review 8:Nice quiet room, spacious, looked smart and tidy , tea and coffee making facilities . Very easy to find and good sized car park. Plus accept dogs, and provide a dog rug, bowel, and some treats. The matter of the dirty sheet was dealt with very quickly the following day, and a refund of some of the charge was made, which was good.
Review 9:I didn't like the fact that I paid an extra £3.95 for room service but still had to go downstairs to the bar to order it. I should have been able to phone down to order it. That's the point of room service.
Review 10:In a convenient location. Polite staff and a very clean hotel.
Review 11:Three out of four visits to this hotel the fire alarm has gone off. Apparently they are replacing it so this should not be a problem in future.
Review 12:Comfortable room and good range of bar meals.
Review 13:I think that the overnight charges and breakfast were overpriced. I would think twice about going to this hotel again
Review 14:I was with the Devon Family History Society for its AGM and Conference and the facilities for that event were excellent.
Review 15:The room was really cold when I arrived and took ages to warm up as it was a large room. You could see where some furniture had been taken out so the decor was very disappointing, it was not that clean either. Did not think up to Best Western standards
Review 16:The fish and chip supper was lovely, lots of hot water in the morning, good breakfast
Review 17:Very dated decor in the bathrooms and looks really dated outside. Reception area has no defined seating area and you have to wait in the bar which is very noisy. TV reception was very bad.
Review 18:Bed very comfortable and rooms really large with plenty of hanging space (we attended a 3 day wedding!). Plenty of tea and coffee.
Review 19:Spacious cosy bedroom (although windows could do with double glazing to stop them dripping wet in the mornings). Cosy lounge with reasonably priced bar meals.
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:Large, spacious double room on first floor was quiet, clean and comfortable with rear view overlooking a stream. Bathroom was well equipped and practical.
Review 22:The staff didn't appear to want to engage with customers witch is why I didn't eat in the hotel . I travel thought Europe and meet a lot of people may be it was just on that day but it was not a great experience for me. I realize that this is not an expensive hotel and I have coincided that before making my remarks
Review 23:I thought the bar food was a little lack lustre.......for example the £6 "fresh fruit" desert was simply the morning tinned breakfast fruit with a couple of strawberries. Very disappointing.
Review 24:All staff were lovely but I have to say the reception staff were superb. Quick to respond to questions, friendly and smiling morning , noon and night.
Review 25:The evening meal was good. The overall breakfast choices were also good, but the cooked breakfast was lukewarm and tasted as though it had been cooked sometime before.
Review 26:The location of the hotel was excellent for an overnight stay. The staff were very friendly.
Review 27:The fan in the bathroom was very noisy
Review 28:Location was very convenient for town and had nice views at the rear over playing fields. The rooms were very good size and nicely fitted out, including a magnifying mirror in bathroom
Review 29:Nothing in particular. But would need more for a top score (e.g. a lift to upper floor etc.)
Review 30:Staff very helpful. Comfortable bar lounge. Good sized room. Nice food in restaurant.
Review 31:The breakfast was luke warm, the mushrooms were cold, the only thing hot was the scrambled egg and even these were watery. The breakfast did not live up to your hotels standard, I heard another guest complaining his breakfast was cold 2 days in a row, not a happy bunny.
Review 32:The room was very spacious with a dedicated desk/work area
Review 33:The booking.com advert on the website did not make it clear that breakfast was not included. I had read it carefully and came to the conclusion it was. Therefore price comparison between hotels was incorrect
Review 34:It had a proper hairdrier next to the socket, mirror, dressing table and chair. So important!
Review 35:Excellent family run hotel - Really cannot find any fault with this over night stay. Great staff, lovely room (shower fittings need upgrading, filtering from bath taps not really 21 century)
Review 36:The staff are always so helpful and it is ideally situated for business meetings in the south west. The upgrade of rooms is good and free effective wifi makes such a difference
Review 37:Please further DE-SENSIFY those fire-alarms! Almost ruined the breakfasts.
Review 38:Everything went according to plan for us. Everything we needed was to be found in our room. Everything we fancied was available at our breakfast.
Review 39:Only one criticism, the pillows were too hard for us.!
Review 40:The room was spacious, impressive and with a pleasant outlook. The staff were always helpful, curteous and informative. The food was excellent in choice and quantity.
Review 41:Returned to bar well before 11.00 pm to find that it was closing. Queried policy for residents and group told you will have to look for night porter. No last orders called or asked if we would like any further orders before the bar closed.
Review 42:Very welcoming and efficient checking in / out. Good breakfast selection. Room bright and airy.C
Review 43:I think breakfast could be improved. The food is fine, but it is not the best breakfast service I have ever had.
Review 44:I really enjoy staying at this hotel, the rooms are really comfortable , the location is good and parking is good too. Always pick this one :)
Review 45:One night stay, nothing to complain about except the toilet's flush that was a bit pants.
Review 46:Venison steak from the restaurant was cooked to perfection. The beer was pretty good too. Big comfy bed and the wifi was blip-free.
Review 47:need to spend less money on cushions and pillows and more money on a new mattress
Review 48:great for the money, great that you don't need credit card to book. Made it very easy whilst on the road.
Review 49:The lack of fresh air as no windows opened.
Review 50:The staff were really pleasant and very helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable. I only had one bar meal but the service was very quick and the food was well cooked and nicely presented.
Review 51:Rooms a bit far away from General dining area ..
Review 52:Very friendly young man named Tom as our tv didn't work and he went out of his way to help .. Big and spacious.. Great shower with lots of water pressure
Review 53:Our eve finished. @ 2:15am which we or the porter couldn't get into our room. 45 mins later we had to be out in a diff room! 8hrs later they broke into our room for us to get our belongings & get dressed!!! Shocking service never want to return. Want to know more, speak to the duty manger Reece.
Review 54:I was traveling alone, and my room was on the ground floor. The only way to get fresh air in the room was to open the window, but it felt unsafe because anyone could come in since it was on the ground floor. The hotel should try to place single women in rooms on the first floor in the future. The bathroom smelled pretty bad. I think it was the shower curtain, and the bedding and room were quite dated.
Review 55:The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was decent.
Review 56:We had booked 2 rooms and had confirmation. When we arrived there was only one room and the hotel had a wedding and a coach party! We queued for 20 minutes for a cooked breakfast by which time my cup of tea on the table was cold- there was only one person on the hot plate. Know they were busy - by adding one more person to the hot plate queuing time would have been cut
Review 57:The receptionist was second to none. Took a little time but another room was found. While we waited she kept us informed. Later the Manager took a photocopy of the booking form. The customer service was excellent and seamless. Would definately recommend the hotel again. Staff were wonderful and to be congratulated. Nothing too much trouble
Review 58:Booked twin room on the level as I can't climb stairs. We were given a double room and the manager's son explained there was no twin room left but he could bring in a z bed. We made the best of a bad job and my husband had a complimentary supper and glass of wine. Guess who slept in the z bed?.
Review 59:Food is excellent value for money in fact some items too cheap.
Review 60:The old avocado bathroom suite (including a shower mat - yuck!) and inadequate shower. No air con so had to leave window open and listen to the busy road. It's the sort of hotel you'd use for a function, as opposed to a holiday.
Review 61:Large room, plenty of space to work. Comfortable bed. Central location. All the staff I met were lovely.
Review 62:No safe, air conditioning or fridge facilities in a very warm bedroom. Poor seating for meals (Tables lower than chairs) in the Lounge Bar and very limited menu for that room and the restaurant.
Review 63:Very central for touring Devon and Cornwall and some very nice local attractions. Staff were very accommodating.
Review 64:Clean and comfortable, nice bar, friendly staff.
Review 65:Nothing really.
Review 66:Not far from our place of work & a nice spacious room.
Review 67:Good value for what we paid. Excellent breakfast. Good staff serving us, friendly and helpful.
Review 68:Nothing.
Review 69:The rooms are spacious, the matresses are so comfy, its hard not to get a good nights sleep, really felt warm & homely

Review 82:Bedroom windows very difficult to open. Bar snacks pricey, breakfast unappealing.
Review 83:Friendly & efficient staff, ample parking, large bedroom.
Review 84:as a solo-non driving customer-far fer too remote from train station--not too bad for town though--but little else near by
Review 85:very good room

Review 87:All very good particularly the staff. They were excellent from chamber maids to bar staff and reception staff. Well pleased.

Review 90:Breakfast not included, shower curtain not screen. Shower a bit old fashioned. Could not access wifi
