Opened in 2009, the La Contessa Castle Hotel is situated in amid a large park in Szilvásvárad, about 15.5 miles north of Eger, and features a 650 m² wellness area, including an indoor pool.
The rooms have high ceilings, are equipped with stylish period furniture and offer free wired internet access.
The premises are peacefully located in a 7-acre botanical garden.
Set by the feet of the Bükk mountains, the neo-baroque Castle Hotel La Contessa offers gourmet Hungarian and international cuisine in the elegant Elizabeth Restaurant. There is also Cyrano Restaurant and Bar, which bears the atmosphere of an English Pub. A barbecue terrace provide further dining facilities.
La Contessa Bar and a beauty parlour are available in the spacious lobby area of the Castle Hotel.

Review 1：We stayed in Manor House and that building had no connection to the castle...and every day we must to dress very well when we wanted to go to spa...to castle...were were all the activities...

Review 3：The food in this hotel is far far below the standard of this place. It was almost embarrassingly poor. We understand that it was a half board weekend, but we decided only to have dinner in the hotel on the first night. We didn't want to repeat it and destroy a Saturday night. We decided to eat in Eger in a wonderful resturent instead and it was a good decision.

Review 5：Half board. Breakfast was avarage, but the dinner was disappointing. A good choice of food but not the quaility you could expect for the price. I have never tasted so badly oversalted beef stew before.

Review 13：Great location. Lovely house and grounds. Stayed in the main house (first floor). Pool area lovely. Dinner good quality and reasonable selection for a buffet (we did half board).

Review 14：We had Superior Double bedroom in castle building, on 2nd floor, the room was large enough, but not comfortable beds and one extremely small window for the whole room. Breakfast - normal, dinner - poor. Wifi was available only in lobby and bar (in the castle).

Review 15：Staff was friendly, big various of Hungarian wines. Wellness part and spa facilities were excellent, not overcrowded. Private sauna in our room was more than enough.

Review 16：Quality of the food was less than average compared to similar hotels and the choise of meals (half board) was surprisingly small considering the size of the hotel etc. However, the only thing that was shockingly negative was the level of service provided in the restaurant; even after asking for a clean table, we got very dirty tables with sticky crumbles all over it, 3 times in a row. Those few waiters who bothered to "clean" after the guests simply swept the crumbles on the floor..very weird and nasty habit.

Review 17：Furniture and all materials used to renovate this extraprdinary, beautiful castle are of very high quality; as for this part, it could easily pass for a very nice five star hotel. Very nice and elegant spa. All in all, price to quality ratio was excellent.
