Reviews for Lee Manor

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Fantastic place in the peaceful countryside. We celebrated NY eve in the cosy living room with the fireplace running and nicely decorated Christmas tree.

Review 3:This is one of the best B&B's I have ever stayed in. Beautiful, quiet room and comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. I can recommend it wholeheartedly.

Review 4:Shower room very small and rather cold with radiator only switching on for half hour after l had showered.

Review 5:Location. Large room. Lots of extra touches eg fresh milk in fridge in corridor. Fab breakfast. Very welcoming.

Review 6:Our satnav was not working and we got terribly lost. It's probably not that difficult to find, but we had a bad experience (at rush hour).

Review 7:The feel of the place; the old furniture; the rural location.

Review 8:Difficult to find - booking.com map not detailed enough and the sign at the entrance was not easy to see in the dark.

Review 9:Very comfortable bedroom and bed. A lovely bath/shower.

Review 10:Due to the age of the house the floors are quite noisy when you walk on them. It can't be helped I know! I also would have preferred a shower, althought the bathroom was stunnin

Review 11:The hosts were very friendly and I liked the little touches in the room - fresh cookies, nuts and port. Also fresh milk and tea/coffee making facilieties. Breakfast excellent - fresh and beautifully presented.

Review 12:That we didn't have more time there to enjoy the huge lounge with squishy sofas and loads of books. This is not a criticism, but maybe a 'helper handle' could be fitted to the bath to help with getting out as it's so deep!

Review 13:Our second visit here. Tucked away but close to the main road network, this is a haven of tranquillity. A lovely old house full of character and warmth. Bedrooms are large, ours had antique furniture, a large bathroom, tea tray with biscuits, nuts and port! Good quality bedding & towels, lovely quilt and pillows, really comfy. If the room is excellent, breakfast is the highlight - local top quality sausages & bacon, eggs from the hens in the garden, that's alongside the other choices, and also cereal, fruit, toast, jam etc etc, served at an antique dining table. The hosts are great fun and welcoming.

Review 14:Check in was 4 pm. When we arrived perhaps 2 minutes early the place was deserted. Our hostess arrived, told us check in was at 4 (was now probably one minute before). We were told she had groceries to put in freezer and would be about 10 minutes. We were left to wander outside - at that time we were tempted to find alternative accommodation (but deposit already paid). Not a good first impression and welcome!

Review 15:Luxurious room. Excellent selection of toiletries. Excellent breakfast. Once we were invited into the manor our hostess was very welcoming and charming.

Review 16:Superb quiet location with excellent large bedroom and en suite bathroom. Friendly owners and fabulous breakfast. Conveniently close to IoW ferry and exploring the New Forest.

Review 17:Warm welcome, attentive but not intrusive, big lovely room with comfy bed and big bath, lots of little personal touches that you don't get in a big chain and an excellent breakfast

Review 18:Wish we had stayed longer!

Review 19:Lovely location, spacious airy room tastefully decorated. All needs catered for and wonderful breakfast, good quality ingredients cooked to order. Owners very friendly and helpful.

Review 20:Spacious,airy room with large very comfortable bed..Welcoming hosts and an excellent breakfast in the morning.Would have liked to stayed longer than just one night.

Review 21:Lovely old house with great character situated in peaceful surroundings but actually quite close to all the local attractions. Very welcoming and friendly owners.

Review 22:We stayed at Lee Manor to visit Mottisfont and surrounding area. Our room was beautiful.Amazing choice of teas in the room.Nothing was too much trouble for the host who also recommended a pub in a nearby village, where we had an excellent dinner. It would be convenient to have a car, which we did.

Review 23:Very welcoming, brilliant hosts, beautiful room, and really comfortable bed. Loved the extra little bits on the tea tray and the bathroom. Looking forward to going back.

Review 24:Very warm welcome on arrival. Room extremely comfortable: well furnished and equipped. Excellent attention to detail, for instance welcoming decanter of port. Fine breakfast with very sociable fellow guests.

Review 25:A little awkward to get to until you know where it is. We drove past it and turning round was a pain.

Review 26:Good clean well maintained accommodation in delightful setting

Review 27:The hosts were very attentive and gave us good advice about walking routes, they even printed a map off for us. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent quality.

Review 28:Wifi not great but not a big problem for us

Review 29:The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, the room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, good choice of breakfast and great location

Review 30:From the setting to the decor to the geniality to the wonderful breakfast to the free WiFi to the tea, coffee and biscuits (not forgetting the complimentary glass of port), everything about Lee Manor was excellent.

Review 31:It would have been nice to have a shower that you were able to stand up in rather than an attachment on the bath

Review 32:The bed was really comfy and the breakfast was great

Review 33:There was nothing to not like.perfect break

Review 34:The way everything is run reflects in the dedication of the owners. Those little extras you don't expect. The friendliness of the owner. Breakfast to die for

Review 35:There was only a couple of things. It was hard to find the accommodation, maybe a bigger sign outside, and of course, this depends on which end of the road you enter the accommodation from. Visited with a friend only for a night for Xmas market so it was very cold. The room was a bit cold but when advised owners immediately put up the heating so not a problem.

Review 36:Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Very friendly, recommended restaurants nearby. Breakfast very good with a selection of food/options.

Review 37:The only thing I didn't like was that it was smoked bacon for breakfast I feel this is a personal choice.

Review 38:This was a lovely place to stay and I would stay again without a doubt it was lovely and clean beautifully put together the welcome tray of peanuts, tea coffee, biscuits and Port was divine! I would recommend this place to anyone even though we only stayed one night, we were well looked after!

Review 39:Nothing, it was excellent.

Review 40:Lee Manor is in a lovely rural location, but very easy to access via car from nearby cities such as Winchester and Southampton (we stayed there as we were attending a wedding in Winchester). The house itself is very characterful and the huge room absolutely beautifully decorated with lovely little touches such as great tea and biscuits in the room, good quality toiletries etc. The hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming and the breakfast absolutely delicious. Couldn't recommend enough!

Review 41:Having to leave

Review 42:Very welcoming hosts. Charming property in a convenient yet tranquil setting. They have everything covered to the finest detail to make your stay as pleasurable as possible

Review 43:Sally and Alistair were extremely welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. And any extra requests were met with a smile and "no problem" attitude. Room was great, house lovely and breakfast was delicious, with a great choice . A very relaxing and comfortable place to stay.

Review 44:Lovely Old House, superb room and excellent facilities. We were upgraded to the Four Poster Bed room (free of charge).Extremely comfortable, In the morning we were served a lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Unfortunately we were only staying one night but hope to return for a longer stay in the future.

Review 45:Too many dogs living in the kitchen (although we understand that some people really love their pets, for us it was a bit much to see a half dozens dogs, some fairly large, established in the same room where our breakfasts were being prepared. Access to the property made difficult especially at night due to the roads being very narrow and unlit.

Review 46:Elegant old house, very quiet, rural setting, plenty of free parking, helpful hosts, well situated to visit important tourist towns in southern England: Winchester, Salisbury, Stonehenge, etc.

Review 47:Bit difficult to find!

Review 48:Warm friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere. Pleasant to walk in the grounds. Suited us fine as we were leaving Southampton next day on cruise.

Review 49:Everything -room very comfortable, everything we needed including a carafe of port, beautifully cooked breakfast with great choices, peaceful location. Will definitely stay again.

Review 50:We could only stay one night.....

Review 51:We could only stay one night as part of a cross-country itinerary. We needed space, comfort, good cooking, long sleep. We got all of these and more: useful info from Phil and Debs as part of their warm reception (including recommendation of an excellent eatery), enthusiastic welcome from the dogs... just a great sense of 'being at home'. Such a lovely place.

Review 52:Once we were familiar with driving on the narrow roads we felt right at home. Our hosts helped us by giving us detailed directions when we were leaving to drive to Somerset. So, really, there was nothing we didn't like about our stay at Lee Manor. We would return.

Review 53:You were immediately made to feel at home. The room was clean, sun filled, comfortable and well appointed. A suggestion by Phil to use the local taxi for an evening meal in Romsey was the way to go. We were new to driving on English country roads at night. The breakfasts were delicious. The company of other guests enhanced the meal. Deb was a wealth of information regarding our visit to Montisfont Abbey. We shared a love of a favourite rose that grew there. The dogs were well trained, never underfoot and added to the ambiance of the inn. Deb went out of her way to serve tea and date loaf to our guests who dropped by. The living room was so comfortable. It would be fun to stay longer at the Inn and take advantage of the Test walking trails and fishing in the area. There is so much to see and do in the area.

Review 54:It was a last minute booking and a real find. Beautiful accomodation in a wonderful setting. Hosts couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. Will definately be returning.

The Fine Print

Lee Manor is part of a country estate and is therefore a rural property and as such transport is an advantage.
