Reviews for Chadwick House Hotel

Review 1:The car park is a little hard to find around the back sat nav takes to front of hotel but owner was very helpful when I called for directions.

Review 2:We were a party of 7. We were welcomed with a warm getting very friendly owners.Food was really nice.My Bedroom was very spacious and warm with ensuite shower.we have planned to go back in Feb.very good value for money and good location.would definitely recommend it.

Review 3:The bedsheet is dirty. The room have no shower. I paid £60 per night, half of the period I was in the room the heater was switched off and I was very cold. It isvery poor

Review 4:Nothing!

Review 5:Attitude re questioning Parking - not ideal tight. Dirty mirror above wash basin. and mold around shower. Wash basin in main bedroom sqaushed tight against corner of bed making access to bedroom door and bathroom very difficult.

Review 6:convenient to see our daughter

Review 7:The room was a little dated, but not bad. Parking was a bit tight, but worked out okay.

Review 8:Excellent location, good shower and a decent breakfast. Friendly owners.

Review 9:Very basic and slightly run down rooms. No hot water during the day for showers and unable to contact hosts for assistance. Limited parking.

Review 10:Great location, and friendly hosts. Lovely breakfast.

Review 11:'on-site parking' means 'on the road round the corner', no WiFi access given (should have asked perhaps), single room was very small and smelled quite damp on arrival

Review 12:Good breakfast, walking distance to city centre, card payment accepted

Review 13:We were not happy with the lighting on the stairs. The only lighting was 2 emergency lights, one of which was not working. The bedroom was very much in need of upgrading.

Review 14:We were made very welcome. The breakfast was excellent and the service was very good too.

Review 15:The bedding felt damp. It was a cold day, arrived 2.30pm and no heating on. The room was awful

Review 16:Nothing! It was so awful that we made an excuse to leave.

Review 17:Bed took some time to get used to...

Review 18:Good location in Macclesfield. Charming hotel (though perhaps in need of some refurbishing). Spacious and decent room for a good price, which also includes a nice breakfast.

Review 19:Arrived at Chadwick House - very old and lugged luggage up one flight of stairs, very Fawlty Towers John Cleese. Dark stairs and a rabbit warren. Old, old old. Toilet with pull cord and overhead water tank. Daggy bed cover. Tiny TV (saved by the fact the room is quite small.) Worst place we have booked

Review 20:Does include a full English breakfast. Free WiFi

Review 21:I wish the owners had been a bit more welcoming (especially as they were the first people I met after I got to Macclesfield) They were certainly not rude, but quite brisk.

Review 22:Breakfast was nice - cold milk and cereal, juice and coffee, the usual, as well as toast and eggs, sausages, tomatoes the usual. I was in a single room, which was a good size. The shower was tight, but I lived in halls so nothing new there. Owners will tell you where to find the ironing board, and hair dryer on request.

Review 23:Strange smell (drains) perhaps from having the window open. Could feel the springs in the mattress. Room and bathroom generally looking tired. Strange not to have the sink in the bathroom.

Review 24:Peace and quiet, lovely breakfast and cheerful owner.

Review 25:My stay was only for the one night, but I can honestly say there was very little that I didn't like. I would recommend the Hotel to anyone considering staying.

Review 26:Terry and Marjory couldn't have made me feel more welcome at the Chadwick House Hotel. Both the room itself, and the bathroom/shower facilities were very clean, comfortable and well presented. In addition, I had the full english breakfast in the morning which was superb.

Review 27:A bit noisy at the front but it was cool so we shut the window. A fair few stairs but no problem for us.

Review 28:Comfortable bed and handy for the town center. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast.

Review 29:We stayed for a concert in town and was told by the proprietor that if he'd know it was on he would have charged £300 for the night! It's a hotel out of the 1970's. Very dated. I would have cried if I'd paid £300.

Review 30:Hotel is close to centre of Macclesfield

Review 31:There was no shower in the room - just a bath (even a shower head adaptor to the bath taps would have been welcome).

Review 32:Excellent value for money, especially as this includes breakfast (unlike eg Travelodge)

Review 33:Grubby, tired didn't risk breakfast don't appreciate being scuttled out the door dead on 11am A Buget B&B rather than hotel

Review 34:The drive home

Review 35:When we booked we said my wife is on a gluten and dairy free diet. This information was completely ignored. I feel we could at least have been informed.

Review 36:A common problem with most places, bath towels aren't big enough and more than 1 is needed (only 1 supplied). Bath sheets please!

Review 37:Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean rooms and common parts. Good location.

Review 38:My only negative is that the central heating isn't continously available throughout the night and so it was a tad chilly up there in December.

Review 39:The room was spacious considering it was just a single. The en-suite shower room was very nice to have.

Review 40:I made this booking on behalf of a guest who was entirely satisfied. The accommodation was quiet and comfortable and the welcome she received made her feel instantly at home. She regretted very much having to leave before breakfast.

Review 41:The location was just right for us,and the friendliness of the staff made us feel at home instantly. The cooked breakfast was excellent and together with everything else on offer was more than ample. Chadwick House ticked every box as far as we were concerned. Highly recommended.

Review 42:The washing/shower facilities were a little squashed, but this is something we could overlook as everything else was good.

Review 43:The Couple were very friendly, the hotel was easy to get to, the location was close to town, there was a bus service and taxis from the station, food was excellent, We thoroughly enjoyed Macclesfield and would happily go again and stay at the Chadwick again. Their rates were very reasonable too.

Review 44:There was only a bathtub in our en suite with no shower adapter. My husband and I had to borrow my friend's room to shower. The male owner was a bit overbearing with his views and made us feel uncomfortable.

Review 45:Breakfast was really good and the female owner was really nice. Good location.

Review 46:The location. 10 minute walk into the town centre. Very nice hotel, it makes you feel at home! Terry and Marjorie were brilliant, and the breakfast was so delicious! The town centre was nice, with some lovely buildings around. Plenty to see, including the local nature reserves and Teggs Nose Park...breathtaking views. Overall a great place to stay for a couple of days exploring. Great value for money, especially being so centralised.

Review 47:The toilet cistern refilling was almost alarmingly loud. Another minor point

Review 48:Good, well-cooked breakfast. It would have been nice to have vegetarian sausages as an option but, as a small hotel, only a minor thing. Prompt and friendly service. Value for money.

Review 49:Bathroom was a bit on the small size, but was ok for the one night we stayed. Lots of stairs when entering from the carpark, would be easier to walk to the front of the building to enter. Breakfast was really good apart from the sausage was a bit of a let down, butchers sausages would be better. But for the price it was god value. You only get what you pay for.

Review 50:Location was really good and walking distance to the town. Private carpark was good, but a little bit restricted. Staff were really friendly and we were made welcome. Needed a hair dryer and she was happy to get me one without it being an effort. Bed was really comfy, but could have done with an extra pillow.

Review 51:Front door was locked on arrival, rang bell, woman appeared who had been watching the football. Seemed annoyed at our arrival. No shower, had a bath, bit odd! Parking is very limited, area is a bit suspect, I had bikes on the back of the car and was unsure to leave them. Bedroom old and tatty, bed lumpy. Walls paper thin. Food in the morning was very low quality, value sausages! Nasty! All in all, you're better off camping!

Review 52:Only hotel in the area within budget.

Review 53:Had no shower, although I had asked for one. We had a bath, but in the morning, I don't want to give myself the time for a bath, I need to get to my place of work, after breakfast. Still, it is no biggy.

Review 54:The location, within walking distance of the center, and near to my place of work. the reception by the owner, and definitely the breakfast.

Review 55:Room was very cramped, had no seat (apart from stool), decoration was dated and in need of attention and the paintwork, especially in the bathroom was covered in dust. Shower was poor. Access is very difficult by car and internally with bags.

Review 56:The breakfast was freshly prepared and the stay was value for money

Review 57:Car parking was awkward Steep narrow stairs to the room

Review 58:Value for money but wouldn't stay there again because I am happy to spend more for more quality

Review 59:That they weren't ready for us, even though we had requested an early check in and had received an e-mail confirming this. Also I requested gluten free breakfast. The lady owner came back from shopping and made us feel like it was our fault! They both blamed booking.com for the mistakes. My husband asked for an extra pillow and promised one would be provided by the time we returned. There wasn't one there. Luckily were in time for the wedding.

Review 60:Breakfast and that they were pleasant towards us.

Review 61:Not all rooms have a shower. Some only have a bath.
