Reviews for Packridge Apartments and Bed & Breakfast

Review 1:Wifi didn't work in our appt when we were there.

Review 2:Super choice at breakfast, friendly owners, comfy bed, plenty of parking, convenient for Southampton, lovely rural location, good pub a 10 min drive away.

Review 3:Beautiful and peaceful setting and high quality of all the facilities. Welcoming owner who provided all the local information we needed and ensured we were more than comfortable. Locally sourced and top quality breakfast with extensive choices. Garden and pool side relaxation felt like home( if you could afford this!)

Review 4:was a little cold through the night, could of done with the choice of a extra cover.

Review 5:nice and quiet, but very close to shops ,motorway, airport and ferries. Good shower and nice produce from around the area (soap, hand cream ect) good bed with no roll together!

Review 6:Child's bed had slats which collapsed under adult weight. Shower temperature not consistent.

Review 7:Kind and friendly hosts. Lovely location. Excellent breakfast.

Review 8:From first booking to stay here we had a great experience, we were late turning up at about 8 pm but spoke with mike and he was there to meet us and point in the right direction for some great local food. As soon as we got there my dog was greeted by 3 other very friendly dogs which was good for him to stretch his legs after the drive. Location is close to shops and right on the edge of the new forest but still quiet and safe for the dogs to run around.our room was clean and had everything that you could want for a b&b and also included a doggie pack with bed, towel, bowls and a treat which was a nice touch. The only downfall was that we could only stay 2 nights but will be booking the apartment for later on in the year for a longer stay. Oh and we only had the continental breakfast but was delicious local food and plenty to choose from. Thanks mike and crissi

Review 9:I only got to stay one night :(

Review 10:Lovely location, feels very rural but is close to local business centres. Mike was friendly, informative and welcoming. Nice characterful room. Outstanding breakfast. Spotlessly clean throughout. Excellent.

Review 11:We would love to return for another visit.

Review 12:Mike was wonderful, loved the character of the renovated dairy farm, quiet, secluded and calming after a few days in London. Felt more like visiting a personal friend than usual B and B. And the dogs!

Review 13:The shower didn't work very well = water was cold The room could have been a little cleaner

Review 14:The room was large The bed was reasonably comfortable

Review 15:Very friendly, comfortable accommodation. Unfortunately our stay was very brief so we didn't get to sample the breakfast but we would definitely recommend and would happily book to stay again.

Review 16:We had to go back to work on monday :)

Review 17:Only stayed one night, but was a lovely experience. Lovely location, quiet, great room and only a short trip to visit the new forest for which we came down for. They even gave us a some champagne flutes and ice bucket to keep our champagne bottle cool that we had bought when we arrived back after dinner, for which they had recommended a few places to eat. It’s the little touches that count, and they offer these in spades here. Will come back for sure.

Review 18:Cooked breakfast should be provided as an alternative to buffet

Review 19:Set in nice countryside, laid back.good breakfast, ideally located, lovel dogs, comfy bed, home made jam marvellous

Review 20:Nothing

Review 21:We booked a night in the family room got a seperate email prior to arriving to ask the age of our child so they could make up a suitable bed and a peppa pig duvet met us DVDs and books for a toddler met us and plastic bowls plates cutlery and cups were provided for her at breakfast lovely grounds she was able to wander with us to look at horses great place to stay complete with all the nicer details we enjoyed pre children!!

Review 22:The cooked breakfast was so so, not really worth the extra, although to be fair the price charged was very reasonable. Quite a lot of noise very early on , but they were doing some building works so hopefully it was just a one off!!

Review 23:What is not to like!!!! absolute perfection, could not have asked for better

Review 24:Fair Oak room not huge.

Review 25:Little things: milk in fridge, big towels, obvious thought gone into everything. Didn't use outdoor swimming pool, but was impressed there was one. Excellent breakfast. Very peaceful place.

Review 26:Everything, the room was clean and well appointed for myself my wife and my 2 year old daughter, her bed was even made up with a peppa pig duvet, pillow case etc and at breakfast she was eating from peppa plate and bowel a nice touch i thought especially as we were heading to peppa pig world which is only 15 minutes away. We were using this stay for one night on our way to the new forest, its a bit dearer than staying at a travelodge but it feels more a holiday b&b so its worth it.

Review 27:Although there was a microwave & plates etc in games room there is nowhere to wash up other than in bathroom sink. Could do with a net round the trampoline!

Review 28:Lovely surroundings, excellent parking & friendly welcome - very kid friendly too! As our main reason for stating was to visit peppa pig world child's bedding was peppa pig which was a nice touch. Liked the games room with microwave & fridge which was useful. Bathroom very good.

Review 29:We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Packridge. We spent a night with our one year old son on the way to Cornwall - we were given a lovely room in a separate building (so as to disturb as few guests as possible) with a cot complete with stuffed animals and peppa pig covers. The room was fantastic, clean and peaceful and our son loved running around the large gardens, seeing the horses and playing on the trampoline. We were definitely made to feel very welcome with a young child. A particular highlight for me was the breakfast - the fry up really was the best I've ever had at a B&B or hotel, and the black pudding the nicest I've ever tasted. We hope to come again soon. Thanks a lot!

Review 30:Rude owners who made us feel very uncomfortable for over running the check out time by 45 minutes. Lack of drinking water. Dated decor. Swimming pool not uncovered on beautiful sunny day. No information about using the pool or hot tub.

Review 31:Lovely setting.

Review 33:TV and Wifi were erratic

Review 34:The location was charming, bed and shower were outstanding

Review 36:Enjoyed warm outdoor pool and hot tub.

Review 37:Fabulous setting, warm reception, lovely grounds to the house.

Review 38:Bed way too low for old knees, but very comfortable once you're in it

Review 39:The gardens and space, the location and the friendliness of the owners

Review 40:Part of the outside area looked rather tired.

Review 41:Facilities in the room were well thought out. A very pleasant change from national budget chains.

Review 42:The location and friendly welcome, the horses and dogs were a hit with my grand-daughter and the breakfast was lovely.

Review 43:I loved having the opportunity to relax by the pool on a lovely sunny day surrounded buy nature.

Review 44:Just everything ... Hot tub ... Outdoor swimming ... The room so clean and so comfortable. Peaceful and the scenery

Review 45:Owners happy to suggest places to eat and visit during stay. Room just right for length of stay. Gardens are immaculate.

Review 55:Lovely peaceful location conscientious food supplied. Very lovely

Review 56:Quiet location buffet breakfast

Review 57:Nothing!

Review 58:A really beautiful & serene setting - lovely to have horses in the stables & fields.

Review 59:Lovely room Great breakfast Local produce Friendly owners

Review 60:Fruit over ripe, ham dried up

Review 61:Terrible customer service and very unhelpful

Review 62:i loved the hot tub. wil try to go again whn the weather is colder to enjoy it again!

Review 63:Country location.. clean air ..great hosts...a very good experience.

Review 64:Leaving!

Review 65:The quiet location, the landscaped gardens which our son enjoyed a lot as well as the stables. The breakfast was good value and Mike was brilliant in taking care of us. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Review 66:nothing

Review 67:We loved all the little quirky extras in keeping with the dairy theme. The owners were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable and the seating area just outside, overlooking the orchard, provided us with a sunny place to enjoy a cup of tea. We enjoyed a super cooked breakfast with local produce and there was plenty to choose from in the breakfast room, which overlooked the pool area through patio doors surrounded by roses. This is certainly a place we would like to return to.

Review 68:Curtains were very thin!

Review 69:Location, very quiet , welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure our toddler was welcomed with cuddly cow in his bed and peppa pig crockery. Nice place!

Review 70:Just a couple of small points - the room was cold in the evening and the TV reception failed one night.

Review 71:Mike was very friendly and helpful. The apartments were well designed and furnished and the location was excellent. The breakfasts were very good. I would certainly recommend stay again and recommend the apartments to others.

Review 72:The shower was very poor and we had difficulty getting wifi unless we were standing outside.

Review 73:Breakfast was great along with everyone being very friendly.

Review 74:Can hear other rooms TVs at night which is not the fault of the B&B more the inconsiderate neighbour I had on that particular night!

Review 75:Really comfy beds, home touches make a difference, breakfast was delicious

Review 76:Bedroom door lock was a little tricky to master installing a fear of being locked in if there was a fire. Towels could've been newer and definitely washed on a hotter wash (something I find often in hotels/B&B's these days). Linen needs to be washed at 60 degrees to kill off bacteria and therefore eradicate that musty smell!

Review 77:The staff/owners seemed to have thought of everything. Cosy room. Great breakfast buffet and helpful directions to my onwards venue. Location was particularly good for me.

Review 78:Not too far to travel from the town but a very peaceful and idealic location to feel 'away from it all'. A warm welcome from the owners. Cosy and warm with wonderful facilities and beautiful attention to detail. Delicious breakfast with a lovely variety to choose from.

Review 79:Arrived in the dark along a single track country lane. Sat nav showing me the way to packridge farm. I couldn't see a sign for the dairy but I drove up the drive with my lights on full beam and the owner came out to greet me! Phew I was in the right place! Very welcoming, carried my bag in and up to the room 'cafe au lait' in the main farm house. Delightful room, bathroom hidden behind wardrobe doors. Spacious, new and clean. Bedding really cosy. Very quiet. Breakfast is a buffet, lots if choice of breads, home made jams, cereals, fruit, home cured ham and bit of cheese. A really good spread for a b&b and better than many hotels. You can get cooked breakfast for extra.

Review 80:Peaceful location, we had both rooms at 'the dairy' whichincludes a separate kitchen, pool table area, with a microwave andfridge if you wanted to do simple self catering. Close to Peppa Pigworld! Where we were going.

Review 81:The whole stay was relaxing and comfortable and Mike couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast was amazing and I will use this place again and again!

Review 82:Shared fridge, not a problem if other guests hadn't filled with all sorts of things. It is meant for water and milk not half a weeks shopping!

Review 83:Beautiful location and room. Breakfast was superb! Will stay again wiythout a doubt.

Review 84:Delightful hosts. Clean and attractive accommodation, rooms had everything you could need and free wifi. Breakfast is well done, with home made preserves and warm croissants etc. Resident dog is a delight and it is a dog friendly place. Can't praise enough, we loved it and will be returning.

Review 85:the road to this hotel is very narrow, and you have to watch out for a bump in the road that catches on the underside of your car!

Review 86:A good sized bedroom with a very comfortable bed with nice views of the garden made this a pleasant place to stay. If you are into snooker, there's a table for you to play on.

Review 87:Nothing not to like, forgot shower cap so a disposable would have beenappreciated in the box of toiletries supplied, but didn't ask andsure if I had done something would have ben sorted.

Review 88:There isn't anything not to like about this accommodation. Helpfulmanagers, who listened to my request for non feather pillows and Soyamilk Handsome friendly dog ,beautiful gardens with swimming pool and hottub. History of house provided. Tucked away in the country and withinminutes to motorway. What a gem.,

Review 89:Shower was good put the shower head points down against the wall - needs fixing to make the shower better.

Review 90:Good Value - clean, good bed, desk to work on. Good wi-fi and pool table!

Review 91:Difficult initially to find, narrow access etc, best approached from Rownhams lane and not the Toothill way, Romsey

Review 92:Great and quiet location; nice leisurely breakfast - owners very friendly - recommended for our age group and also suitable for young families

Review 93:forgot to take my walking boots so didnt go for my early morning walk such a shame as it was a lovely country setting I will take them next time.

Review 94:The help and advise, and such lovely people to stay with and Bertie the dog he was a treat. Great B/fast all you could eat and more. Such a great place to stay just wish it had been for a week or more such a great place and people.

Review 95:I kept banging my head. I didn't like that. I had to learn to walk with my head down. Bit of a mix up when I got there, which led to me sitting outside, waiting for my room, for nearly an hour. Turned out my room had been ready ages, the woman just thought I was someone else and had already booked in....not a great start at all

Review 96:I liked how the guy did his best to help me out when I wanted to bathe my nearly 2 year old but my room didn't have a bath, he was very helpful and sorted me out with a makeshift bath! Just a nice place all round, very clean and comfy, in a nice quiet area (only a 5 minute drive to Paulton's Park though, ideal!) My (nearly) 2 year old seemed to like it, and slept well through the night. Facilities were top notch.

Review 97:There was nothing not to like.

Review 98:The accomondation was excellent with lots of 'little extras' which were thoughtfully put in our room. The breakfast was superb and the owners were exceedingly friendly and helpful.

Review 99:I was charged more than what agreed online The bathroom is too dark, cold & compact The room was cold in the night & the heating was not working the road leading to the hotel is so narrow & have some broken trees that will scratch the cars.

Review 100:The area is nice & the staff are very good

Review 101:It was more like staying with fam,ilt than in a hotel. The owners couldn't do enough for us and had everything on hand that you could need or want. Great location and beautiful grounds. Lovely dogs too!

Review 102:Dogs around...so if you really don't like dogs be aware of this.

Review 103:Friendly and warm. Everything we needed travelling with a young toddler.Lots of information available re where to go/eat etc. Peaceful. Allrequests met. Lovely location. Relaxed. Attention to detail. Verycomfortable.

Review 104:Nothing to complain .

Review 105:We have never had such a good reception in a hotel as in the Dairy. Pity we only could stay the one night,as we had booked the ferry home. Will certainly be back.

Review 106:The excellent standard of the furnishings and the variety of the buffetbreakfast. The attention to detail and the excellent informationavailable regarding local facilities.

Review 107:We did not realise that there would be a charge for use of a credit card - and didn't notice anything about this on the Booking.com website. Luckily we had a debit card with us. We didn't really pick up on the fact that breakfast was buffet style (although on checking when we got home, it does say that in the details on Booking.com.) A cooked breakfast was available for an extra charge. I think in the UK, people expect that B & B price includes a full English breakfast.

Review 108:The owners were very friendly and helpful - giving us good advice as to where to visit and where to eat. The buffet style breakfast was lovely - lots of choice and no limit to how much tea/coffee and food - we were not hungry afterwards for quite a while! My wife like the toiletries - these were a cut above the average. Also good to have an iron and ironing board in the room and fresh milk for our tea in the morning (left in a flask to keep it fresh). The house was surrounded by a lovely garden - which we could wander round and sit in. There was also a hot tub but we didn't sample that. The guest lounge/games room would be very good for families and those into snooker..

Review 109:Lovely country farmhouse in beautiful setting, large clean well appointed room. The staff were hospitable and friendly and the breakfast absolutely delicious using locally sourced produce, much of which was from their own vegetable garden....dont miss out on trying the rose petal jam!

Review 110:I found this to be an absolutely perfect place to stay. Beautiful, peaceful location. Away from all the hustle and bustle but very handyfor Southampton, Romsey, Winchester, the New Forest, etc. Chrissi andMike are the perfect hosts and this really is a little gem of a place.

Review 111:The most unbelievably delicious breakfasts, including homemade honeyed ham and rose petal jam!

Review 112:nothing!!!

Review 113:welcoming, friendly, clean, light and a fantastic location

Review 114:All of it!

The Fine Print
