Reviews for Annebrook House Hotel

Review 1:No real bad experience. Only to note that a taxi is needed to get from the city to the hotel.

Review 2:The atmosphere of the hotel is very relaxed and it was great value for money. The restaurant food was lovely and lounge area was perfect for a drink after dinner.

Review 3:Our room overlooked the car park. Lots of noise coming from it. Got to sleep around 4am when party goers had gone home

Review 4:Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 5:Loved the location, efficient & friendly staff. Breakfast the best we have had in a long time. Stayed in apartments which were v spacious, clean & modern

Review 6:Nothing to report. Thank you so much

Review 7:The location was ideal, and good Christmas atmosphere all weekend in the town. The Christmas market was good despite weather. The hotel was good too on Saturday night in the main bar with band and DJ. Did not try out residence lounge this time!!!! I like the idea of the apartment, ideal for grown up family. Will do again, all going well.

Review 8:Didn't get the room we booked plus they didn't have us booked for the meal which was included in the deal and said this should have been arranged at time of booking???? never did this in my life.

Review 9:Guest at breakfast speaking on mobile phone with loud speaker on - what do you do in these cases?

Review 10:Cheerful and friendly staff at reception and breakfast

Review 11:We had a bit of a problem regulating the heating and contacted reception. In fairness to them they sent the housekeeper over straight away who resolved the issue

Review 12:We got a great deal on the price. There are 2 bedroomed apartments which would be great for families

Review 13:The apartment was cold. Beds were badly made. Staff were eager for us to leave before check out. Do not order room service as it will not come.

Review 14:The man on the front desk had incredible hair

Review 15:Was at wedding the beef was bit tough.

Review 16:Lovely hotel A man in grey suit took our bags up to room.very nice gentleman . breakfast lovely enjoyed our stay

Review 17:Hotel not very buggy friendly. Used lift from apartments to get to reception & 2 sets of steps to navigate to get to restaurant for breakfast. Remote control for TV not working, Batteries needed changing, sorted quickly by staff Kettle element blew after first use, sorted efficiently by staff Would benefit from tea towel being provided.

Review 18:Waitress at breakfast very accommodating & helpful. Apartments good size & good value

Review 19:Great location. Apparently they aren't pet friendly but accepted our dog when they realised we'd been led astray! Brilliant restaurant. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 20:Bar seemed to be under staffed. Had to ask a couple of times if someone to take our food order & didn't receive everything we asked for.

Review 21:Apartments are great, spotless clean & lots of room.

Review 22:Its was late when I arrived and I was not sure how to get the Wi Fi working, but just check at reception and there should be no problems

Review 23:Great room and value

Review 24:Excellent location, staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Apartment was spacious, spotless and comfortable with plenty of towels, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Excellent car parking facility.

Review 25:everything about the hotel and apartment also right beside the town loved it was there before with my husband and told everyone about it so I brought my 2 sisters down and yes they loved it and are looking to go back real soon

Review 26:€160 for one night was a little expensive, but then again it is a lovely hotel.

Review 27:The staff in the hotel are excellent, they really make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble, for example we got to the bar at 9pm just as bar food was due to finish, we asked was there a possibility we could get food even though it was just 9pm. We were told no problem and received nice food served with a smile.Location of the hotel is also a major plus point.

Review 28:APARTMENT GREAT BUT NOT VERY WELL EQUIPPED IF YOU DID WANT TO COOK. JUST CUPS, SAUCERS & GLASSES, NO POTS OR PANS AND NO DRYING CLOTH FOR DISHES

Review 29:LOCATION RIGHT IN TOWN, GREAT BREAKFAST , VERY HELPFUL STAFF

Review 30:I booked in for Sunday night with my 10 year old because she had a very important educational evaluation the next morning in Mullingar. I wanted us both well rested. Big mistake! loud music played all night from about 5.30pm to 1.30 am. We got about 4 hours sleep. I complained at check-out but have had no response. Really disappointed about that.

Review 31:Great location. Centre of Mullingar. Friendly receptionist and staff.

Review 32:While breakfast was adequate and it was a busy time I felt that staff were not well organised as regards having plates, bowls, teaspoons on display! Have had breakfast here before with family and it was exactly the same!

Review 33:I am from the area, so spent 2 nights here visiting family. Location is excellent. Bedrooms were really comfortable.

Review 34:The apartment floors were very dirty. The breakfast service was terrible on one morning, no table set when we arrived, no glasses for juice (v dirty), no juice, no porridge, no plates etc! Found breakfast room dirty overall. Cooked breakfast was tasty. The apartment was quite noisey at night, bed not comfortable.

Review 35:Great space in apartment for family. Staff were friendly and helpful, location is excellent for town centre. Bar food was lovely and well presented with good menu!

Review 36:The hotels holds many weddings and also the bare are open until late and the noise from people leaving the bar at 4 in the morning was unacceptable.

Review 37:The breakfast was very good and it was nice that they cooked the eggs as wanted and did not leave them in a warmer

Review 38:Stayed in an excellent apartment, spacious, clean and had everything you could need (dish washer, fridge , hair dryers, iron n ironing board, microwave, kettle)

Review 39:Poor staff in bar/restaurant under tremendous pressure, grossly busy, very understaffed although they coped very well.Full credit to them. After witnessing an incident with the owner, he needs to respect his guests more and needs to have lessons in manners

Review 40:lovely hotel, very clean, friendly staff. Very helpful and courteous.

Review 41:we were supposed to get two bed apartment ended up in a room with double and single bed for 4 of us and there was no bath! So not a good hotel for young family if they can't guarantee the room you booked! Breakfast v basic could do with more choices

Review 42:The breakfast when we got room service

Review 43:One receptionist brilliant, the other a bit cold.

Review 44:Have stayed there about 9 times.I think that speaks for itself.Breakfast and room are terrific. The best hotel in Mullingar.

Review 45:The breakfast was a bit cold, by the time we got it. And the restaurant could have been cleaner.

Review 46:It's very central and just across from a little park, which is great for children. Also the bar food was very good - home-made and generous servings.

Review 47:Nothing, all was first class

Review 48:The staff the hotel and the food was excellent. We went for a horse racing weekend everything about the hotel was first class

Review 49:Staff very rude. Night porter entering our room without our permission. Complaining we were making noise obviously had wrong room seen as their was two lots of hen Party's going on. Frightened the day lights out of a group of girls. Would not stay here again tried to discuss the issue with receptionist and she was so rude we just left.

Review 50:Nothing that incident completely turned me off staying there.

Review 51:I wasn't too keen on the receptionist complaining to the man who checked me that he gave me a good rate as I arrived at 11pm. I thought it was not appropriate in front of a customer, though the gentleman handled the matter well.

Review 52:Sitting outside having a cup of tea on the balcony.

Review 53:I would ask for a room in the hotel front as our room over the car park was very noisy at 6 30 a m

Review 54:Lovely rooms Excellent restaurant and food Helpful staff

Review 55:When we arrived the 2 bed apartment we had booked wasn't available. We were given a family room (double and single). We asked for a travel cot, had to ring three times (2hrs) for cot to arrive. Staff were very apologetic. Room was very warm early in the night until about 2am. Breakfast was buffet. Fry up not very appealing as eggs tasted strange. Hotel very clean, staff very friendly, great car parking facilities.

Review 56:nothing

Review 57:located in centre of town. Good size room. clean. Handy for girls he bathroom had a illuminated magnifying mirror. staff good. tv did not work but quickly sorted by staff. good breakfast. evening food in bar good

Review 58:Nothing.

Review 59:We were upgraded to an apartment which overlooked a river and was surrounded by trees. The apartment had 2 en-suite bedrooms, and a balcony. It was peaceful while still at the heart of the hotel. Restaurant food was delicious and staff very helpful.

Review 60:Location of our room overlooked the back of hotel and staff were out there throughout the night smoking, talking on phones and then the sorting of empty bottles started with a staff member sorting empty bottle into shopping trolleys..... neither myself or my husband sleep a wink...

Review 61:Good is great, decor is lovely but so noisy would never return:(

Review 62:Lack of kitchen supplies. Eg. No tea towel or cloths . Very basic crockery & cutlery. Not very disability orientated.

Review 63:Location . Apartment was spacious & comfortable. Staff very helpful . Food very good.

Review 64:My room wass paid for by family member staying in the apartments but I was still charged when I checked out. TV in room not working but receptionest not the slightest bit interested when I told her - just shrugged her shoulders and said she'd pass on the information - no apology or anything

Review 65:Location is great, in the centre of everything. Great room. Lots of lovely areas to sit and chat with friends

Review 66:Breakfast on the first morning was served up and was first class. Second morning it was a buffet style breakfast which was good, but I think we got spoiled the first day! But we could understand why it was buffet, as the hotel was so busy, bank holiday weekend.

Review 67:The evening dinner was superb! All staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back for another stay. A very well ran hotel, and looks like they are giving great employment to local people. No staff shortages, and every member of staff were so welcoming. Well done to all of you.

Review 68:Shower water pressure was below average but did the job. Reception staff were a bit standoffish and not all that friendly but very helpful when prompted.

Review 69:Excellent food in the restaurant downstairs and amazingly soft bed to fall asleep in! Lady in the restaurant was so helpful and accommodating, took wonderful care of me and the other patron there.

Review 70:The main hotel bar felt like a barn. It's feels like a nite club.

Review 71:The original part of the house which housed the Piano Bar and Reading/Drawing Rooms.

Review 72:Stayed on a Saturday night, we got no sleep, music pounding until after three, then people sitting outside drinking and chatting until five. Will never stay there again. No need for band to be so loud, certainly anyone staying should be part of the wedding group and no point staying otherwise!

Review 73:I was there for a wedding and I have to say it was wonderful, staff always on hand and friendly food very good apartment good could do with a microwave no cooker only kettle and toaster

Review 74:Very poor lighting, & broken light over wash basin. Very old fashioned lighting for ladies to do their hair. +no mirrors to see back of hairstyle.a

Review 75:Amount of space for 2 people

Review 76:It was Easter and the hotel was very busy with staff that seemed to be overstretched.Breakfast was poor but the pot of tea was very good.

Review 77:The Social Dancingand A Good Pint of Guinness.

Review 78:Excellent bedroom but the bed was not as comfortable as expected even though it wasn't really bad.

Review 79:Nice hotel very well located. Very clean and nice staff.

Review 80:I was staying in Mullingar on business and, as a last minute choice, at the recommendation of one of my customers, I booked into the Annebrook House Hotel. Well, that was one of the best decisions made that week. I was away all week on business, travelling around Ireland, and my sleep had been distubed every night with noise in the other hotels. I slept soundly in the Annebrook House Hotel and woke refreshed. I ate in the bar in the evening with a customer and we both had splendid meals. The breakfast in the morning was a feast too. All the staff were friendly and I had a great time at Annebrook House Hotel.

Review 81:nothing.

Review 82:Lovely hotel with great staff, so friendly and helpful. So central in the town, clean, amazing food, and lovely views over the town park and playground. Apartments connected to the hotel are a great option too.

Review 83:Could not fault thus hotel in anything

Review 84:We were at a friends wedding stayed over for 2 nights the staff are as friendly as can be can't do enough for their guests

Review 85:Track up to the room with a buggy. Also had carvery one day and it was disgusting to be honest

Review 86:Stayed in the apartments and they are perfect when travelling with babies

Review 87:I had asked for a shower only room as I have limited mobility. The only way the hotel could accommodate this was by giving me the use of an apartment. Staff need to READ the requests section on booking forms. The large bar was sparsely populated that night. I had arrived at reception around 8p.m. & by the time I had gotten the accommodation issue sorted I headed there to order food. The menu had a good selection of food, with allergens well identified for each dish. However, there was very little available had I been a coeliac or suffered from wheat intolerance. The barman was helpful & friendly, as was the waitress in the bar, but I did not appreciate being asked if I wanted to order a dessert as the kitchen was closing!! Breakfast waitress was not very welcoming. I met her heading towards the kitchen as I entered the dining room circa 8.30a.m. She gave me a curt 'Hello' & left me standing there! After a few minutes I walked around the dining room to see if I could figure out where it was appropriate to sit, given that I was a solo diner. The waitress eventually re-appeared undertaking some chore & I asked her where it would be ok to sit. She seemed surprised at this request & indicated that I could choose! I then enquired if I had to order a cooked breakfast & she produced a menu. T The breakfast was lovely but she mixed up my order with the only other diner present. There was ONE other guest having breakfast at the time

Review 88:Clean, comfortable apartment. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast.

Review 89:my sister celebrated her newyears eve wedding here, and it was magical for her because of the staff that were there on hand from start to finish, all staff from receptionist , bar staff , waiting staff.everyone did so much for her,and i noticed the same staff were on the next morning, with not much sleep i can guess ,they were still efficient and so nice to us next morning,,the owner of this hotel should be so proud of their staff as they are second to none..thank you from all of us..

Review 90:Nothing

Review 91:Clancy, lady at reception. So welcoming and helpful when we arrived. She changed our room for more comfort for our group. Clancy is a real asset to the hotel, lovely person. I would highly recommend this hotel. Staff are top notch and the location is super. The restaurant where breakfast was served has to be seen.

Review 92:noise from disco wifi not working in room reception staff were unhelpful except to give free breakfast to make up for dreadful noise breakfast was awful and stewed to bits glad I didn't have to pay for it

Review 93:mattress! super comfortable! after changing twice the apartment we ended up in was excellent tho no wifi which I had said was essential

Review 94:blank....

Review 95:my sister celebrated her newyears eve wedding here, and it was magical for her because of the staff that were there on hand from start to finish, all staff from receptionist , bar staff , waiting staff.everyone did so much for her,and i noticed the same staff were on the next morning, with not much sleep i can guess ,they were still efficient and so nice to us next morning,,the owner of this hotel should be so proud of their staff as they are second to none..thank you from all of us..

Review 96:We stayed in one of the hotel apartments and at first it was a bit of a treck from reception to the apartment but after doing it once or twice it was not that bad at all and as everything else about our stay was fantastic this one tiny thing is not really worth mentioning at all

Review 97:I liked everything. It is a lovely hotel. My family have used this hotel for family occasions and it has always been great. Looking forward to coming back.

Review 98:I didn't get to enjoy this beautiful hotel on my recent visit.I was shattered after a long day in a near by hospital.Friendly staff good service and good food. Thank you

Review 99:We were attending a wedding and stayed in one of their appartments. We were delighted with the comfort and value of the very spacious rooms. Also, the wedding reception itself was one of the better ones I have attended. Well done to all the Annebrook House staff.

Review 100:Entrance is lacking atmosphere. Cold feeling due to tiled floor. The bar is a bit basic and needs to be a bit more conducive to relaxing and spending more time there. It may be that, the idea is to get the turnover going quickly. If that,s the idea, then it,s successful. The "wedding" entrance, may compensate for what I have said above.

Review 101:Liked the rooms. Very comfortable and warm, clean and tidy. Bar empty!!!! Even though there were parties ongoing, the noise level was very minimal. Breakfast was excellent. Loved the nooks and crannies in Breakfast area, as opposed to, one big room. Definitely value for money. Will recommend to friends and will be back

Review 102:I found there were too many parties booked in to the bar which doesn't leave much room for seating for the residents. 3 main areas were booked when we were there

Review 103:The location was great right in the centre off the town. We had lunch and dinner here and both were excellent. The carved is amazing and lots of selection. The staff were really friendly especially a young lad named Conor. this hotel ticks all the boxes the only thing missing is a pool

Review 104:Hotel was very full at the weekend and I felt that it was understaffed. Staff who were on duty were not very customer orientated as we discovered when we had a few problems during our stay. Initially, we were put in wrong apartment. We had no hot water and felt bad for even attempting to complain!!! Lift to apartments broke down over the weekend and sign to say so was located directly outside it. Nothing in main lift indicating this and we had to walk around the world lugging suitcases etc. Unfortunately, stay this time around wasn't pleasant for a number of reasons.

Review 105:I have stayed before and love the Annebrook for it's location and fab food.

Review 106:In the kitchenette, even though fully equipped with appliances, there was no dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher, no tea towel to handwash delph and no condiments provided, cutlery drawer were not matched up ie... 6 forks, 3 knives, 4 teaspoons.

Review 107:The space and comfort

Review 108:Reception staff talking to each other in their office a bit louder than necessary with frequent use of bad language.

Review 109:Value for money and great setting especially the park next door which the children loved. Breakfast was brilliant and graciously provided extra requests.

Review 110:Would not recommend dinner in the hotel.Had veggie soup and ceasar salad with chicken. Soup tasted like out of a cheap tin. Chicken dry and overcooked and salad dressing was just mayonaise out of a squeeze tube.

Review 111:Staff a friendly. Room nice an clean.

Review 112:I was staying in the hotel for a 2 night work trip. On the first night which was a thursday there was a wedding in the hotel. The noise was so loud from the music i could not get any sleep until the noise stopped at 2am. My bed sheets were not changed after my first nights stay even though they were visibly marked with tan

Review 113:The location

Review 114:The remote for the TV did not work

Review 115:Staff are very friendly. Located in the heart of the town. Very clean room and bed was very comfortable. Food was lovely too.

Review 116:Had many lights (hallway and bathroom) which needed light bulbs replaced. Our traveling frienjds had the same problem. Pub was a bit too modern and the Old House Pub was not open during our stay

Review 117:Very nice hotel - great location - rooms were very comfortable.

Review 118:Prefer a hotel room as like a television in the bedroom

Review 119:Well situated easy access to shops, we booked an apartment and I wish we had booked a room in the hotel as no TV in the bedroom but that was our fault, breakfast was very nice Restuarant closed Monday and Tuesday do not enjoy bar meals so had to find some where else for dinner

Review 120:a little noisy due to large group staying of younger people.

Review 121:apartment privacy and facitilites - good value for money - morning breakfast first class quality - and very well serviced - layout of restaurant very nice - with atmosphere yet privacy to it.

Review 122:The staff were so friendly, was there for a wedding and it was top class, food was excellent.stayed in one of the apartments which was great and so quiet never heard a sound.

Review 123:It was very noisy early in the morning, we were woke at a out 6 each morning with outside noise

Review 124:Staff were very nice and hotel was clean and comfortable

Review 125:No WiFi in the apartments. Television had a major lack of stations, picture on the few stations was of a poor quality.

Review 126:The staff at reception, right through to the room cleaner's friendly and helpful.

Review 127:Some water in the room on arrival would have been nice as it was a particularly hot weekend. However I know a lot of hotels don't do this anyway but just a suggestions for future when its very warm!

Review 128:Staff were lovely, the woman on reception couldn't do enough for us but I think she could have done with some help/extra staff as it was a particularly busy day! Room was large and the balcony was lovely, everything worked perfectly.

Review 129:Very little we didn't like about our apartment but thought a tea-towel would have been handy. When you turn on the tap or flush the loo its very noisy but we came to terms with that!

Review 130:The hotel looks nice and is in a lovely setting overlooking the lake and swans! It is within walking distance of everything in the town. We went to Mullingar Greyhound Stadium which we walked to and from - we had a great night there!

Review 131:Easy Going Comfortable Hotel. All Staff were pleasant & friendly. Attended a friends Wedding everything on the day in the Annebrooke was excellent.

Review 132:That there isnt more places like annebrook house

Review 133:What stood out most was the wonderful staff no request was too much , the attention to detail was beautiful, the rooms were spacious clean and very comfortable with all your needs catered for

Review 134:The only thing I was a little miffed about was that I asked booking.com about the apartment. I knew it can take up to four people. It stated online the room was meant for two adults and two children I asked if it would take four adults rather than two other children in which the reply was it cant take any more than two adults. When I got there the beds would have in fact taken up to four adults meaning we could have shared the room with friends for a better deal. Other than that all was good except getting stuck in that lift once or twice :-)

Review 135:Staff were amazing, extremely friendly, polite and courteous. The location was very convenient right in the heart of the town and had a lovely view of the park from the room. I would defiantly stay here again if I was in the area.
