Reviews for Bedford Hotel

Review 1:we like the bedford because it suits our needs for a short break we always stay at the beford if available because we enjoy theatre breaks in blackpool but prefer to stays in st.annes

Review 2:Not a bad experience but room 15 very small. We were assured, without asking, that this room is to be refurbished. Still a very pleasurable stay.

Review 3:Walkable distance to seafront and Walker Cup at Royal Lytham Golf Course. Excellent friendly, helpful staff.Wonderful food using excellent local produce.

Review 4:Double bed a little small but it was quite a small room. Outside area needs some weeding and a light fixture was broken on the car park wall. Minor details that I'm sure will be seen to as soon as possible. They certainly didn't spoil our stay.

Review 5:For an older hotel The Bedford does very well with high standards. The room was absolutely spotless and clean, bathroom same. Staff were helpful and pleasant and reception very welcoming on arrival. Brilliant value for money and great location for pier.

Review 6:Room was small and bed was small and uncomfortable. Lady receptionist not welcoming and abrupt. Constant noise though the night from main road.

Review 7:The Coffee Shop - very good value for money and friendly staff. Parking.

Review 8:a little dated in need of refurb bedroom was very old fashioned and shower did not work properly.ok for one night , we went to stay in lytham for second night in a much nicer hotel for not much more money .

Review 9:was near to town and train/bus station

Review 10:Stayed here just for one night with my fiancé as we had tickets to Lytham festival. I hadn't checked the ratings as we just wanted a reasonably priced bed for the night. However, our stay was far better than expected! All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly and I felt really comfortable straight away. It does have that family run feel and as such I felt that I was home from home. The room was lovely, clean and had a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasted delicious. The staff were apologetic for the wait but I don't feel that we waited long at all and would rather wait for a freshly cooked breakfast than be served immediately with food that had been sat under a hot plate for goodness knows how long. I will definitely book again!

Review 11:The Bedford Hotel is located in a good position for what we wantedie visit the area. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the food was very good and at the price we would expect to pay.

Review 12:For hundred pound a night bed and breakfast I would have preferred a buffet style breakfast

Review 13:Very friendly staff, booking in and checking out process completed efficiently, very good information on local area available in the hotel.

Review 14:Water pressure in shower poor, room 33. Car parking tight if you can get a space, had to park away from hotel.

Review 15:Location, friendly staff, quiet comfortable room and bed, nice atmosphere. Clean.

Review 16:bit of a dribbly shower

Review 17:everything about this hotel is lovely the staff are all great and the location is ideal for getting about. really nice breakfast good choice and hot. very clean.

Review 18:WiFi a bit weak

Review 19:Booked a double room with a single bed in as well . Good size room . great wet room . Had an end room, no noise what so ever. great nights sleep . breakfast was cooked to order with plenty to choose from. evening meal was fantastic and not over priced . but the best thing about the hotel is the staff nothing is too much trouble. would recommend for a mature couple not for younger people .

Review 20:Felt meal times were rushed. As you put your knife and fork down, cleared table. one course came straight after one another. We really should have asked for a little breathing space

Review 21:Freindleness of all staff. Housekeeping outstanding, comfortable spotless clean rooms.

Review 22:The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The location was perfect, far enough from Blackpool to avoid all that goes with it! and near enough to travel in on the bus or tram. Even the other guests were friendly and lots of them had stayed there before - always a good sign

Review 23:The parking was tricky. Although there was room for a good number of cars we had trouble finding a space for our large vehicle and had to leave it on the main road a number of times during our three-night stay

Review 24:Friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful room, excellent position for our needs, interesting menus, delicious food

Review 25:The hotel is not really aimed at the young children group, which is a bonus if you don't appreciate children.

Review 26:A lovely relaxing hotel in a relaxed resort, staff who know how to help and when to leave you in peace.

Review 27:Weather was very cold and windy and feel heating shd have been switched on earlier in the day. ( The weather was exceptional for late April/May.)

Review 28:the friendly staff, lovely bedroom with beautiful newly refurbished bathroom, comfy bed and quietness at night on second floor.

Review 29:Nothing

Review 30:The hotel appear to make a real effort with the food - its interesting and of excellent quality. The main breakfast course is served to you at the table pipping hot - so much better than a buffet

Review 31:I and my partner are both 57 when i booked it said the hotel was for over 50 i would say its more suited to over 65yrs old.

Review 32:The breakfast was really good. And the night watchman on teception was very friendly

Review 33:nothing at all to dislike

Review 34:Excellent standard room Spotlessly clean, quality bedding, and ample tea/coffee facilities. The room was quite small but never felt confined and the bathroom with a walk-in shower was of generous proportions - very pleasantly surprised. Didn't have a cooked breakfast but the self service table of cereals/juice/fruit was laden with plenty of variety.

Review 35:The boiler was playing up and we had to endure a very cold room at times when it couldnt be fired. The staff did their best, but in early February you need the heating to work.

Review 36:Lovely friendly helpful staff, large comfortable room and fabulous breakfast

Review 37:Not enough parking or should I say some inconsiderate workman block both my car and another visitors car in and we had to wait till the manager could find him , one would not expect workmen to park on the visitors carpark.

Review 38:The hotel was very clean.

Review 39:The hotel is spotlessly clean, very good food, well prepared & served. Good choice of menu. The superior rooms 6 to 9 are excellent, affording a street view which is one back from the promenade.More for the mature person than younger generation1

Review 40:Got the bill wrong charged for 3course evening meal instead of two courses but overall excellent

Review 41:Choice of breakfast and evening meals excellent. Well presented staff friendly

Review 42:Corridors need painting but understand it is an old hotel and I am sure they will get round to it.

Review 43:Excellent breakfast, helpful staff.Nice atmosphere in the bar area and comfortable rooms. We would return here.

Review 44:Parking is limited, but you can't have everything. The hotel know this and do their best to stay organised. We asked for the heating to be turned off and we needed a fan and both windows open to get an air flow, but to be fair it was 19 degrees over night at the end of October.

Review 45:Quiet. breakfast was good. Hotel was clean and everything was in good condition. This is a quiet very well run hotel targeting guests over the age of 50. And everything was perfect for that market. If you are looking for that, then this is a great choice. It is difficult to fault the hotel on anything. Also the hotel is warm and comfortable There is a quiet well equipped gym and also a Jacuzzi. I doubt it gets much use so you will get a workout in peace.

Review 46:Wi-fi in room could have been better.

Review 47:Lovely little hotel. Staff are very friendly. Amazing breakfasts!! Loved the restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Review 48:As I was travelling with my elderly mother of 92, we were only booked for bed and breakfast and I found that the menu for dinner unfortunately wasn't suitable for my mother as she is a plain eater.

Review 49:Easy check-in and we were made welcome on arrival by friendly receptionist. Restaurant staff were very efficient and attentive and the food was absolutely superb. The only downside to the Bedford is that because everyone knows it's reputation, it makes it difficult to get a booking. But that's a good comment to make!

Review 50:The breakfast freshly cooked to order, was delicious, much better than a buffet Staff were very pleasant, and our room was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and spotless

Review 51:A really very good hotel in an excellent location near the town centre in St Anne's. Comfortable dining room, very good food, excellent service. The quality of the breakfasts was excellent too with lots of variety. The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the common areas of the hotel are beautifully kept and quite plush. Cannot really fault anything.

Review 52:Having to come home, should have stayed longer, will do next time.

Review 53:Friendly reception from all staff. Nothing was too much trouble Quality of food was excelent.

Review 54:I am not sure of the merit of a parrot next to the dining area & lounge .

Review 55:Booked at the last minute this was a very good choice of a hotel . I had an upgraded room which was very comfortable / clean and an enjoyable breakfast .

Review 56:Over priced, small bed. No window in bathroom. View from bedroom window was a wall 3 feet away.

Review 57:Good breakfast, friendly staff. Good WiFi, reasonably sized room.

Review 58:Room 44 was a bit small for a double as was the ensuite but ok for a short stay.

Review 59:Location was very good with convenient parking. Staff excellent especially in the restaurant. Food was very well prepared and presented also reasonably priced. Entertainment was good fun. Hotel is aimed at the older customer.

Review 60:Our room was supposed be a superior double, I doubt it was because it was very tiny. I did not complain as it was a late booking and I was pleased to have got a room there.

Review 61:The Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent Room service was excellent Room was very clean Bathroom very good. Loved Tinker the resident bird he was very entertaining

Review 62:NOTHING REALLY

Review 63:I liked the relaxed ambience and the natural friendliness of the staff. The food was very good and our intention to try some local eateries was cancelled after our first night dinner at the Bedford

Review 64:We couldn't say there was anything we didn't like superb.

Review 65:There was nothing to fault in this hotel, Staff friendly and helpful, Rooms comfortable and very clean, Breakfast lovely and fresh we would recommend this hotel to everyone, first class.

Review 66:I requested the staff put either a wine or flowers in my mums room as a surprise for her 60th birthday but they said they couldn't. I think for the price I paid this would have been a nice gesture

Review 67:breakfast was nice

Review 68:Nothing really, other than quite a wait for breakfast both mornings, although the hotel was very busy that weekend with the Lytham Proms being on.

Review 69:My entire experience at The Bedford Hotel was a pleasant one from start to finish. The welcome was friendly and informative, the twin room was spacious enough for me and a friend, with a lovely large bathroom, and breakfast was hearty.

Review 70:water pressure for the shower was the worst ive had could do with sorting out

Review 71:best breakfast ive had for a long time, room was fair size clean and tidy.

Review 72:Leaving!!!

Review 73:The staff were helpful and friendly. The bedroom was comfortable and well-appointed and the walk-in shower/wet room was fabulous. Breakfast was cooked to order and was first-class.

Review 74:Bedroom too hot. Managed to cool it down by having bathroom and bedroom window open all the time.I personally did not require all the bedding supplied but there was no-where to put the excess.

Review 75:very good variety of food for breakfast.staff very obliging. reception very helpful. Beds comfy. particularly pleased that the spa was available this time.

Review 76:Can't think of anything we found we didn't like.

Review 77:A lovely place to stay, located only a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool front, the hotel is in a lovely quiet area. A short walk from the front door takes you to the pier and front. We were lucky enough to experience the carnival during our stay and you could feel a real community spirit. The rooms are well decorated, extremely comfortable and clean, with the room being cleaned every day during our stay. We had a great nights sleep every night. The food is fantastic and the staff are friendly, helpful and a real asset to the hotel. (Even the parrot says good morning!). We couldn't fault our stay and have already booked up for November. Not a place for kids as I think they may find it a little lacking in their types of entertainment, but for adult couples/groups who prefer a quieter hotel (and enjoy dancing) then this is the place for you. Highly recommended.
