Reviews for Dalmeny Hotel
Review 1:Dirty room Mould in bathroom Security questionable Reception not informative on arrival Too many children running around the hotel in general unsupervised and in areas they realistically shouldnt be
Review 2:Unfortunately, a group of young people used the room next door to 'party' until 3am! Reception staff were straight onto it with a knock on their door and a warning! The music went off but the socialising continued [loudly at times] enough to ruin a good nights sleep!
Review 3:Lovely spacious room, view and balcony. Reception/dining room staff friendly and efficient. Great breakfast! Great leisure facilities.
Review 4:The location was great did not use the car used local transport . the room was of a good standard so was breakfast .the staff was very helpful .really enjoyed the stay and would go back again .
Review 5:Only a small thing - room set at back of hotel on main road and no net type curtains so a bit exposed in the morning when getting ready! Had to close the full length curtains.
Review 6:Visiting friends in St Anne's so location excellent. Quick, breezy stroll on the beach just across the road the next morning. Facilities great, used the spa and had a brilliant Happy Hour treatment. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant.
Review 7:The restaurant downstairs I felt we had been put down there because we had children with us. Our room was OK but needed refurnishing especially the bathroom.
Review 8:The swimming facilities. The whole father Christmas experience.
Review 9:All the facilities like steam room and jacuzzi were closed for refurbishment but this was not stated on the website when I booked I was lead to believe I could use these facilities as it stated
Review 10:Modern room and fantastic breakfast
Review 11:The buffet breakfast was always stone cold, the scrambled egg was never even warm. They could improve on this. The reception and bar staff would benefit from a course on how to be friendly to the paying customers.
Review 12:We liked the location and the room etc. Most of the staff were ok.
Review 13:Nothing, apart from the weather
Review 14:First time we'd stayed in Lytham, was recommended this hotel, we went as a couple to meet up with friends in a local restaurant. Wow, what fantastic facilities for children - swimming pool including kids pool, kids cinema, games room, Kraft area, Kids club, full entertainments team!!! we will definitely be taking our kids back to the Dalmeny!!
Review 15:We have stayed at the dalmeny a number of times and the rooms we have stayed in were modern but this is first time booking with booking.com, we were given economy rooms that feel neglected.
Review 16:Although the food at breakfast is always excellent the set up always seems poor No glasses at fresh drinks table Orange juice had run out Waiting for egg's Appreciate its a busy hotel but I would have thought they would have somebody monitoring the basic items
Review 17:Great hotel, location and facilities
Review 18:Too cold in the room and could have been cleaner. Breakfast expensive.
Review 19:Location and facilities were brilliant. Boys loved the pool! We will be returning soon.
Review 20:Price was far too expensive, outdated / tired decor. Breakfast logistics. There was a huge non moving queue waiting for breakfast. This was bring served in a room that was too small for the numbers of guests resulting in customers becoming upset. There was a further dining room upstairs that should have been the overflow.
Review 21:Location and facilities (inc pool)
Review 22:Far far too chilly in rooms i needed a blanket ... Don't fee like I should have needed to be so uncomfortably cold in such a popular hotel
Review 23:Lovely place lots to do good friendly staff lively food
Review 24:Food was a bit expensive for what you got. It might have been better value if u booked on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal. We didn't do this as we wanted to keep our option open. Paid £13 pp for breakfast and £7 for a child which seems very expensive. Breakfast was good quality though.
Review 25:Great location. The room was very comfortable and clean (203). Daughter loved the bunk bed. Hotel overall was ok but needs updating in some areas.Swimming pool was great. Overall good for a short break.
Review 26:We are based im presuming in one of the older rooms, there was a lot of noise on the corridor and could hear the door slamming next door constantly and could hear the tv in the next room as well
Review 27:Really clean, a lot of things to do, great for us as my girlfriend is pregnant so she was relaxed and she enjoyed her pedicure that she had as well.
Review 28:All good
Review 29:Only booked in here as we couldn't get into our usual hotel just up th promenade. Really pleased as this hotel was not only better value for money but also the facilities are second to none. It will be our first choice for future visits
Review 30:Very friendly staff. Maybe the waitress 's needed prompting on saying about buffet routine as I had to ask also wasn't offered any drinks having to ask for this.
Review 31:Stated that front facing double room had large double bed, not so.
Review 32:Pool and spa great.Breakfast good. Size of balcony room. Location excellent. Would I stay again, yes.
Review 33:Some areas just needed a little TLC such as painting if I am being really picky.
Review 34:Great location for St Annes Square and everything that we needed. Loved the facilities that the hotel had, swimming pool and gym, they were an added bonus to our stay. Rooms were very generous sizes.
Review 35:The hotel outside of the reception, bar and main restaurant was in dated and shabby condition. Duck tape on the carpets, light fittings missing and peoples name/ initials scrapped into the wood in the sauna!
Review 36:The food was the only positive bit about our stay
Review 37:Friendly, helpful staff who went out of their way to meet our needs, as we needed an early breakfast due to my daughter competing in a swim meet. Our room was huge too - very relaxing!
Review 38:Not great value for money. It was very expensive to stay here in half term, without meals included. Meal options also expensive. Everything was clean on the surface, however thick layers of dust on blinds etc made it feel a bit grubby.
Review 39:Excellent facilities for children. Probably didn't take advantage of them.
Review 40:Check out at 11.00am otherwise there is a £25 surcharge
Review 41:Fabulous location, went to the spa in happy hour, great for young children, all in all excellent value for money in a lovely location
Review 42:Lovely hotel but caters more for families and not for us we prefer some where quieter
Review 43:Fantastic room with a lovely balcony but hot and stuffy overnight could do with air conditioning
Review 44:The only bad point is the queue for breakfast...but this is being improved. The choice for breakfast was fab...
Review 45:We have been staying at this hotel for about 15 years since the children were small. There were 14 of us with an age range of 17yrs to 85yrs. We had a great time...the staff were very helpful. Some of us had refurbished rooms which were extremely nice...the other rooms were a bit old fashioned but were still adequate...Always have fabulous stay...
Review 46:Car parking was a struggle and with people not parking considerately for other to park taking to spaces at times which did mean me leaving my car on the street. There is a back car park but it's extremely hard to find.
Review 47:The hotel was very well situated with good transport links to Blackpool hotel was very clean and tidy with excellent facilities for those rainy days.
Review 48:The queues at breakfast. More accommodation required to deal with number of guests for this meal. Perhaps open an additional venue. Buffet breakfast not a great idea and staff not very attentive to the needs of guests. Other meals were very good. Our room was not serviced on the Saturday and we had to call housekeeper at after 4pm to have that completed.
Review 49:I had an accident at the hotel. There were no easy-to-find emergency instructions, and the hotel reception could not help - did not know - whom to contact. They eventually gave me the number for the police, who did help me, but hotel phone wouldn't take the emergency numbers. I used my mobile! The room folder, giving useful information was old, tired and out of date(eg. It said that a menu was in the folder for room service- no, it wasn't!). The décor of the hotel, apart from reception and eating areas, were tired and shabby. Threadbare carpets and furniture in some places.
Review 50:The staff and the food were super.
Review 51:The room was shoddy, it was at the back of the hotel overlooking a yard full of empty beer barrels. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, the pillows were like rock. The hotel was overbooked for breakfast resulting in long queues.
Review 52:The location is good
Review 53:Bed. We left after just 1 night instead of staying for the 2 we paid for
Review 54:Bed in fam8ly room extremely uncomfortable not very toddler friendly plugs low down kettle in easy reach etc
Review 55:The breakfast cereals appeared to be chosen for their appeal to children rather than adults.
Review 56:Rooms were large and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 57:Room was very dated compared to other areas of the hotel and quite depressing no outlook, just a wall, very hard bed.
Review 58:Meals were lovely, nice pool, good location.
Review 59:Overpriced main meals if not on a meal deal, compared to other places. Plenty of choice in St Anne's so we dined out twice, same for bar prices.
Review 60:Balcony room and pool, staff were all very good, and excellent breakfast choice. We would stay again.
Review 61:Dining facilities were very mixed and didn't expect to have to queue for breakfast! Self service was too busy and Carvery room not nearly big enough. Having to get your own cups saucers plates toast and tea too much !!
Review 62:Location great and large room overlooking beach.
Review 63:Grossly overpriced for what it is. I object to paying £130 per night for a room where the fridge did not work and the TV (which came out of the ark) was on the blink. Also the buffet breakfast displayed all the worst aspects of mass catering.
Review 64:Helpfulness of staff. Good standard of the Atrium and Indigo restaurants.
Review 65:Room was a bit 'tired' and required updating. Nonetheless it was clean and fantastic view of beach.
Review 66:Reception and check in very good. Pool and spa excellent. Breakfast good too.
Review 67:The bedrooms are a little dated and could do with some tlc. The carpets throughout the hotel are very threadbare.
Review 68:The public areas are up to date and nicely decorated. The staff are extremely helpful.
Review 69:First time I visited the Dalmeny Hotel but my girlfriend had been before, loved the hotel itself and the staff that ran it. The food was the best food I had tried in a long time, I had a steak platter and asked for it medium rare and that's what I got - my girlfriend had a chilli con carni and loved it but it was abut spicy. The facilities we used were perfect and well looked after. Definitely will go back. Thank you to the staff of The Dalmeny Hotel for a perfect weekend away.
Review 70:N/A
Review 71:Been a couple of times now and enjoy the warm reception and attentive staff. We didn't use the pool/spa facilities this time as a whirlwind visit (one night only) but highly recommend them.
Review 72:Room a bit tired in places although very clean. Breakfast room quite tired and gloomy but food was very tasty. Avoid 9 am as we went then on first morning and had to queue - buffet area then very busy and chaotic.
Review 73:Lovely location overlooking sea, room with balcony would be a must to enjoy it. Room very spacious. Gym and pool area excellent.
Review 74:Room was ultra basic but clean, it was very different to the pictures so we were surprised and little dissapointed. There was a kitchenette in the room which obviously was a self catering room. We felt as we booked through booking dot.com and obviously discounted we were given an ultra basic room as the hotel appeared busy as it was close to Blackpool.
Review 75:great location, nice facilities and friendly staff
Review 76:Nothing except the very very unruly kids .. No fault of the staff just poor parenting
Review 77:We were treated excellently after we unfortunately had an issue with room next door Staff were fantastic and we were given a brilliant room 250 will definetly will be back to stay and hopefully get room 250
Review 78:Hotel a bit dated decoratively, a tad overpriced and the checkout could have done to be an hour later in my view.
Review 79:I liked the location and the fact there was a spar
Review 80:Poor coffee at breakfast (long queue at machine, which didn't work properly) Breakfast room was claustrophobic and dark Inconsistency about dinner menu between website, phone reservation, email reservation and enforced set menu Bedroom had no view as we were in the basement
Review 81:Delicious breakfast Fabulous spacious family bedroom Nice Atrium restaurant Great location & parking Friendly receptionists
Review 82:The room was awful. I know we booked an economy room but it was like an horrendous bedsit. Dual aspect = a brick wall and a back yard with no privacy
Review 83:The facilities and staff were very good.
Review 84:Not enough parking!! Really difficult if not impossible to find a space at any time of the day or evening!!
Review 85:The hotel location is great with excellent facilities. The food is lovely & my grandchildren particularly enjoyed the entertainment & the pool.
Review 86:Our room was at the back side of the hotel overlooking the Post office meant the noise and conversation from their early starters was a bit trying.
Review 87:Location Parking Breakfast Room - basic for spacious and clean and cool.
Review 88:Lots of children running round late st night. Bit overcrowded whew breakfast was served, we ordered afternoon tea & it wasn't very well organised had to keep asking for things don't think the staff knew what they were doing !
Review 89:Location & got a good deal on room from booking.com
Review 90:Having to pay up front Then not been given the room we booked payed for sea view got room atback looking at a wall It took the shine of my birthday
Review 91:Nice hotel clean friendly
Review 92:Room was economy, however still cost £105 per night without breakfast. Cigarette burns in carpet and bedside table. curtains hanging off rails, no grout in bathroom, very shabby and in desperate need of updating.
Review 93:Hotel right on the front and a very central location
Review 94:Just thought it was overpriced room old fashioned no sky tv stayed in similar in chester early in the wk for £85 a night
Review 95:Staff pleasant gud lesiure facilitys clean breakfast excellent
Review 96:Rooms could do with updating a little. Toilet and bathroom peeling paper spoilt it also doors to rooms could do with updating too.
Review 97:The hotel staff were excellent with good parking. Room with balcony overlooking the sea.
Review 98:Everything! With two children if 6 and 8, the hotel made it an easy and enjoyable stay for a family. We had great fun using all the facilities on offer and know this will be a yearly tradition now!
Review 99:Paid £125 B&B for one night.. the room allocated to us wan very dated, thread bare carpets, poor décor and at the far side of hotel. We did complain and managed to get a refurbished room looking onto the front. However came with a cost - I had to sleep in bunk beds with my daughter!
Review 100:Activities for children.. swimming pool, cinema, kids clubs.
Review 101:Room was a little tired looking and needed updating.
Review 102:Great for family's with young children. Loads of entertainment for them. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice.
Review 103:No choice of Continental breakfast making it expensive fir those who did not want full English. Bar meals very good but no dessert available?
Review 104:Pool and children's cinema
Review 105:Found the bed uncomfortable, and the bathroom a bit too small
Review 106:Beautiful and well equipped hotel, absolutely spotless and plenty for the kids to do , and in a stunning location
Review 107:Parking is difficult, the underground park is awkward unfortunately it is made worse by other guests not parking well.
Review 108:Very nice atmosphere, very easy going. The staff are lovely and very obliging.
Review 109:The hotel was not clean, bedding had stains on it, the rooms were very dated, I have never stayed in a hotel that has a kitchen, microwave and oven in the bedroom very weird
Review 110:Reception desk understaffed
Review 111:Family room was perfect although 4 people staying - only 3 packets of biscuits left.had to phone reception and was told "it is normal to leave 3 but would send someone up with an extra packet!
Review 112:the noise above us with families who don't put children in bed for 10pm.
Review 113:In room four, we felt there should have been a small sink in with the toilet especially if somebody was in bathroom, then hands would not have been watched.
Review 114:Childrens entertainment was very good plus my little one loved the cinema room. We all liked the swimming pool. The family room was very spacious and lots if drawer space .
Review 115:Perhaps a little expensive.
Review 116:This hotel was perfect for what we intended a family get together. The childrens facilities were excellent, allowing the adults to relax. location to the beach and local parks very good.
Review 117:Our meal on the first night our food was over cooked and got wasted. Wouldn't eat in the restaurant again.
Review 118:Love this hotel it is our 2nd time visiting this year and will be booking up again for next year. It's in an ideal location. Lovely room and lots for kids to do.
Review 119:Could do with a fresh coat of paint on walls and regular dusting.also closer attention to detail when cleaning/tidying such as tea splashes on wall and covers on mattress, under duvet, fitted properly.
Review 120:Modern decor,comfortable.
Review 121:We had to queue for breakfast, but I guess we waited a total of 15 minutes tops. The breakfast was worth the wait..
Review 122:The swimming pool and spa facilities were lovely. Had a relaxing Jacuzzi and sauna. Breakfast was especially good, perhaps the best I've had in a hotel.
Review 123:The family room, located right near the ballroom, so very loud until 11.00p.m. Expensive considering breakfast wasn't included. Paying for breakfast, very expensive
Review 124:Brilliant location, lovely pool for the children. Good children's entertainment.
Review 125:Room very dated and view of the kitchen bins. I think this room is waiting for a refurb ? but I guess it was reflected in the price and the only room available. Will stay again but in a nicer room
Review 126:All the facilities.
Review 127:Booking through Booking . com only gave the economy rooms which were the farthest away from the reception area and we think the client should be informed of this also the choice of breakfast in the price should have been better explained on the booking form.
Review 128:location of hotel was perfect
Review 129:Our first room was dirty, more squashed bugs on the ceiling than I cared to count, dated decor, ugly furnishings .... infact I did wonder if we had been shown to the staff quarters. The room we moved to was at least clean, but that's all I can say about it. The hotel looks the part from the outside & the reception, but move beyond that and it's a massive let down
Review 130:I thought the speed of the response for us to change our room was superb. The location is great for the beach & the centre of St Anne's
Review 131:I think the room was over priced and there was no air conditioning. The changing rooms in spa were untidy and not clean. The price of the breakfast £32.00 for two adults and a child under five is too expensive. There was no waiter service and the choice of food on the menu was poor.
Review 132:The location near to the beach and pier was very good. Having children's entertainment in the evening was also good.
Review 133:The location of the hotel was brilliant and although I did not use any of the facilities (gym, pool etc) they looked very impressive. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 134:The price was quite steep but as it was a gift for my partner I didn't mind paying the extra.
Review 135:We had a large seafront room, the balcony was brilliant and our stay was perfect.
Review 136:The family room we had was very spacious. Not the cleanest. Bed linen a disgrace, please get rid of the dirty bed runners & scatter cushions!!! Plaster coming off ceiling.
Review 137:Location & onsite parking good. Reception and bar at entrance very modern the rest very old and in many places dirty looking.
Review 138:we were in 101 the extraction fan very noisy starts at 6 in morning stops approx. 10 in the evening. Was quite warm so had windows open had to close due to very loud fan.
Review 139:very good location rooms nice light and airy although view not brilliant
