Reviews for Judges Hotel

Review 1:We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and thoroughly look forward to returning. Food and accommodation is wonderful, as are the grounds and the excellent staff.

Review 2:It was uncomfortably hot in the hotel. In the main part of the day the heating did not need to be on. In the evening could have been turned down considerably. Only 1/2 a slice of black pudding at breakfast! For lovers of this northern delicacy a full slice would not cost much more!

Review 3:I had a lovely room and the whole building was very attractive and comfortable. The food was very good and an excellent breakfast in the conservatory looking at the garden.

Review 4:It's a personal thing, but I don't like 4 poster beds. And ours rattled. There were areas that needed dusting and leaving a glass of bath cream next to the basin, that looked like milk left by an earlier guest, wasn't great and caused us a little confusion. But really minor points. Also a docking station that would take an iPod 4 or earlier just makes you think the place needs updating a little.

Review 5:It is a beautiful spot and the building is great. The food in the restaurant is superb and the service was good, polite old fashioned service. Problems were attended to straightaway. It's the perfect spot for a quiet getaway.

Review 6:The staff were very polite and extremely helpful. The breakfast was outstanding and the complimentary items in the room were just perfect. A1 condition and i would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone especially if it was for a special occasion.

Review 7:Having to leave.

Review 8:Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgable. The evening meal was perfect. The whole hotel, lounge, dining room and bedroom were second to none. Atention to detail and decor was traditional and beautiful. I cant wait to return.

Review 9:£1.85 for a pkt of crisps from mini bar how can u justify that!!!!

Review 27:Everything!I travel a lot and this hotel although 3 star was quite simply the best hotel I have stayed in for many years. The little touches in the room and the care the staff take to assure you are content were second to none. I wish this hotel could be transported to every location I need to stay in the UK but sadly it would only spoil me

Review 28:Drinks at bar far too expensive also Mini bar in room far too expensivefor what was in there eg mini bottle of spirits £6.95?? 35ml bottle ofwine £16.95 ?? Who thinks of these prices?

Review 30:The lights in our room gave a cosy feel and were fine for relaxing or watching TV but difficult for reading in the evening.

Review 31:We had a warm welcome. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was fab. - the service, presentation and taste were superb.

Review 32:Drinks were a bit pricey

Review 33:Beautiful location, very friendly staff and not too big. It had a homely feel about the place, room was clean and well presented, we also had a very nice breakfast. Would recommend to friends and family. A return visit will happen soon.

Review 34:The service was outstanding the restaurant is exceptional in every sense and the event that they arranged for my fathers ninetieth birthday was fantastic!

Review 35:Friendly, competent and very professional staff. Comfortable well-appointed bedroom. Extensive grounds and garden. Excellent restaurant and wine cellar.

Review 36:Shabby decor - needs a make over. Overpriced by some way. Service mediocre. Feels like it is living off a previous repuation. Shower in room 18 was so scaldingly hot it was impossible to have a shower. On checking out the bill included someone else's dinner and that took another 10 minutes to resolve on checkout. No offer of any reduction for the inconvenience or shower.

Review 37:Nothing to express as strongly as "like" Food supposed to be gourmet but good is all I would decribe it as on the basis of dinner. One hard and one soft poached egg for breakfast takes some doing.

Review 38:Breakfast too early - 8 am -9.30 am
