Reviews for Faythe Guesthouse

Review 1:N/A

Review 2:we loved everything about this B&B. The owner went out of his way to accommodate an extra member of our party at the last minute, fabulous rooms and the best breakfast I ever had at a B&B. We will all stay here again in the future.

Review 3:Decor in room and toilet a little dated and Television needs to be better..

Review 4:Loved the breakfast, good quality food. Service was excellent. Safe parking and no hassle booking in or checking out.. Didn't feel like a house, more a hotel feeling.. Thank You, would stay again..

Review 5:We returned from a long bike ride and went to shower and there was no hot water. Called the MOD who said that they don't expect anyone to shower mid-day, so the boiler is turned off. Wait 20 minutes for the hot water. Sadly I was already standing in the shower and cold. The entire place is looking tired and needs an update.

Review 6:Great location! Nice room on high floor with a view of the water. Big bathroom. Off street parking.

Review 7:Spacious bathroom in room 9. Had a code to the side door so that we could come back from the wedding reception at whatever time we wanted. Sweets in reception

Review 8:none!

Review 9:on arrival we were greeted with a warm friendly atmosphere and if we needed any assistance it was offered. the breakfast was superb and they couldn't do enough for you. On departure we were given a bottle of cold water for travelling which was a really nice touch.

Review 10:We have stayed in many UK and Irish g/houses and this is right up as one of the very best for value, comfort, friendliness, quality of breakfast, car parking and close proximity to the shops. Excellent!

Review 11:No negatives at all!

Review 12:Staff were fantastic, particularly the lady who served us breakfast who was kind and went out of her way to attend to everyone. Food was amazing, room was clean and comfortable.

Review 13:Everything was good about this B&B. The breakfast, the room, location & price. The proprietors were very helpful with information about the area.

Review 14:Booking.com suggests a circuitous route from the train/bus station by way of the quay; it's actually more entertaining (and less challenging) to proceed along the main shopping street, which twists and turns a bit but leads directly to the guesthouse in a comfortable 15 minutes' walk.

Review 15:Lovely old house tactfully converted into a guesthouse, with rooms large enough to accommodate a small modern en-suite, windows that open and radiators that can be controlled. Scrupulously clean and well-equipped (hair dryer, ironing board, even a sewing kit). Excellent breakfast with home-made breads and spreads, and truly welcoming, friendly and helpful owners. The final touch, a small bottle of water for our onward journey, was the icing on the cake.

Review 16:Damian and Siobhan were wonderful hosts, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing and seemed to cater for all dietary requirements, including gluten free.

Review 17:Pressure in the shower.

Review 18:Very welcoming host, comfortable, large room with separate sitting room, good breakfast, with lots of choices and good carparking.

Review 19:What a find! Was in wexford for a wedding and stayed here because hotel was full but so glad we did!!! Such a lovely little B&B with the feel of a hotel! Room was lovely, bed was comfortable and bathroom was huge. Breakfast was beautiful, made to order! Can't say enough positive about our stay here!!!

Review 20:We could hear our neighbor's TV. It didn't bother me at all but my wife is a light sleeper.

Review 21:Friendly, helpful staff. Attractive, clean, comfy inn. Awesome breakfast. Accommodating with our bicycle. Great location. Amazing value!

Review 22:The owners went to great trouble to make us welcome - for instance they provided maps of Wexford with restaurant recommendations, gave us bottles of water to take away each day and prepared a specially early breakfast when we left to go for the early ferry. The breakfasts were delightful and the rooms very large and comfortable. The Guest House is within easy walking distance of the town centre with its shops, bars and restaurants. Although some rooms were on the third floor, with no lifts, the owners were very willing to change the room for anyone who had difficulty with stairs.

Review 23:We were very happy with our stay and we're giving the room beside reception it was great because my husband is very bad on his feet will be definitely back

Review 24:The beds were cheap and old and extremely hard and uncomfortable. Had a very bad night's sleep due to uncomfortale bed. Decor very tired and looked like it hadn't been painted in many years. The Painted surfaces dirty in hall, stairs and reception areas. There was an unpleasant smell in reception areas and stairs also. Very unattractive decor. Has "superb" rating in Booking.com and this is untrue. I wouldn't recommend it. It was Not like pictures in website...no flowers outside or inside.

Review 25:Friendly staff and the sheets and towels were clean as was the bathroom.

Review 26:Didn't like......having to go home the next day :-)

Review 27:Greeted with a friendly & smiley face. Made us feel like it was home from home in such a short space of time. Were recommended places to go for food (which was excellent in the Thomas Moore Tavern, very friendly there too)

Review 28:Couldn't connect to Internet but this didn't bother us too much. Also Breakfast only served till 9.30. Bit early for a Sunday morning for those looking for a lie in but again we weren't too bothered. If I was to be very picky breakfast was a little overlooked especially the poached eggs but needless to say we cleared the plates regardless. I loved the rhubarb to start and the yogurt and homemade bread was lovely . Owner was extremely attentive throughout breakfast even though she was on her own and the dining room was busy.

Review 29:The owner was extremely helpful and informative about where to eat etc in the town providing a map on arrival. safe car park to rear of property. The attention to detail in the room was as good as hotel standards with tea, coffee facilities and biscuits a nice touch and also the bathroom was huge with plenty of shampoo, soap, shower caps, towels and heated towel rail.

Review 30:We found the staff very friendly and helpful, lovely breakfast and the area was quiet and peaceful with just a few minutes walk to the centre. We considered the price very reasonable for the time of year and we would stay again. Thanks Damien, and for the bottles of water as we very lucky to have a scorching day while we were there.

Review 31:The owner Damien and his wife were very friendly and made every effort to ensure that we had a good time in Ireland. Our room was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view from our room was beautiful of the coastline. I would definitely go back to The Faythe or recommend to a friend.

Review 32:Maybe the evergreen trees outside our window in guesthouse no 2 were a bit too tall and made our bedroom a bit dark.

Review 33:We have never seen such a large choice of cereals and fruit for breakfast in any other place we have stayed in. The hot breakfast was delicious and served by an extremely charming lady who came back to our table a few times to check that we had everything we needed.

Review 34:I liked the bed, my husband thought it a bit firm.

Review 35:Amazing staff. Full hot breakfast plus breads, cereals, fruits, beverages included. 9 nights and mornings and no complaints. Called taxis when required, helped with arrangements for laundry to be done. 20 minutes or less walk to anywhere you wish to be in Wexford town.

Review 36:Nothing other than being unlucky with heavy rain.

Review 37:The room was very clean and comfortable, massive bathroom. Staff very polite and helpful throughout. The breakfast was awesome. We will definately stay again.

Review 38:Because it's an old building (but really nice) the floor was creaking and could hear next door tv. But nothing major.

Review 39:Staff was super friendly and really helpful. They gave us a lot of info about the city and things to do (especially the tour which we highly reccomend) and restaurants and cafe'. Breakfast was really good and fresh, great quality of ingredients. Location is great, 5 mins walking to the main street and located in a really nice square and really quiet and safe. Massive bathroom. Flovely flowers and plants everywhere.

Review 40:The breakfast were just second to none. there was an extensive variety of cereals , fruit, nuts and seeds not to mention the home baked breads and conserves and of course the 'full Irish ' to follow.

Review 41:My friend and I liked everything about Faythe Guesthouse. The house has great charm and character. The management team are friendly and helpful and went out of their way to facilitate us with an early check-in as we needed the room early to get ready for a special occasion. Our room was spotlessly clean and the beds were superbly comfortable. The breakfast menu included an excellent range of fresh fruit, a variety of cereals, hot food cooked to order and delicious home-made bread. In my experience, the breakfast exceeded the standard offered in many 4* establishments.

Review 42:Nothing!!!

Review 43:The friendliness of the owners, make you feel very much at home. Both willing to give advice to guests who are not familiar with the area. The position of the house within walking distance of the Town for eating and entertainment .At the same time situated where a restful sleep can be had after travelling! This is a return visit to this guest house and will use again if needed. Breakfasts very tasty!!!!

Review 44:It was a bit hard to get to with the one way systems in Wexfurd but worth it

Review 45:The breakfast were amazing the porridge is nutty and tasty lots of choice in fruits and nut and yoghurt Siobhan and Damien are very friendly and helpful The guesthouse is an historical house with an old castle wall to the back .

Review 46:Nothing

Review 47:Greeted warmly upon arrival and treated fanatically whilst there. Comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. We were even given complimentary bottles if water upon leaving!

Review 48:Attractive building and garden, friendly and helpful welcome, nice room and good bathroom/shower. Car park. Good breakfast. Pretty central in Wexford, and easy to reach for the ferry.

Review 49:Walking distance from town centre, Damian was very friendly and took care to make sure everything about this B&B was perfect. Wifi worked well in bedrooms, plenty of parking, good breakfast and a special early service so we could have a cooked breakfast before catching our morning ferry.

Review 50:Delightful cottage style accommodation behind main house. So easy to walk down town and excellent advice from owner with recommendations for dinner etc.

Review 51:Great stuff, very clean and comfortable place to stay, proper breakfast and free WI-FI, great value for the money. I stayed whole weekend together with my gf and we really had a great time. Place is nicely located with private car park. I recommended this to everyone and I'll be back there for sure.

Review 52:A long established and family run guest house with lots of character and lots to recommend it. Breakfasts are freshly cooked to order with a plentiful spread of cereals and delicious home made bread.

Review 53:Nothing.

Review 55:Room was cold - it was 9 degrees outside and the heating was switched off in the room. Breakfast room was a little cramped - a lot of tables squashed in. Bed not very comfortable. No wifi in room.

Review 56:The hosts were very nice people and very helpful. Breakfast was a good standard.

Review 57:We liked the friendliness and helpfulness of our hosts, the wide choice at breakfast-time, and the cosy room with a lovely view over the garden and beyond to the River Slaney.

Review 60:everything was lovely from the minute we arrived to the minute we left.. from the town map we received to the complamentry bottles of water we received for the journey home... excellent :)

Review 61:The bed in our double room was smaller than a double bed, shower could have been better.

Review 62:The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The breakfast variety was great and the cooked breakfast was excellent. It is in a great location for the town with private parking facility. Tea / coffee / hair dryer / iron - great additions for the price

Review 63:We were located right by the main door so it could get a little noisy in the evening however it did not disturb us during the night and we had a great sleep

Review 64:The location was perfect, no need to take the car to the main st as all was in walking distance. Anne greeted us, provided us with a map and showed us around upon arrival. The rest of the staff was very helpful when planning out our trip with what to see.

Review 65:Owners extremely friendly and helpful, could not do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Location superb with easy access to safe carpark at rear and short walk to rest of town. Rooms great, cleaned every day and excellent choice at breakfast

Review 66:Nothing (except the weathe! !!!)

Review 67:Extremely Helpful friendly owners. Very welcoming, gave us a map of the town & pointed ou places of interest. Breakfast was amazing. We missed breakfast on the 2nd day due to late night & the owner put aside some homemade breads & bottled water for us for our trip home. Beds were so comfortable

Review 68:If I was to be pickey the decor could do with a bit of tarting up

Review 69:The welcome you get is amazing. So friendly and gives you loads of info of the town. The breakfast is one of the best I have ever had

Review 70:Nothing we would change

Review 74:Breakfast, the best we have had in years. Cooked fresh when ordered , hot and delicious.

Review 75:I didn't like staying only 2 nights, I wish i could have stayed longer :-)

Review 76:Great place, very well located, comfortable room with a view to the ocean, good parking lot. And once it was EAster, we arrived in the evening and found a chocolate egg and an Easter card from our hosts, that was lovely :-) We strongly recommend the place for everyone!!!

Review 77:The staff were very welcoming and most accommodating. We were offered fresh coffee, croissants, bottled water and fresh toast after missing breakfast on the second morning. Beautiful breakfast on day we did make it, with great choice. Beautiful, comfortable room with great sea view. Couldn't recommend it more

Review 85:There was nothing we didn't like

Review 86:Our whole experience from arrival to departure was excellent. Our host was most helpfull, even giving us a bottle of water for our journey home.

Review 87:The freshly cooked breakfast to order was a delight (one of the best I have ever had) and the hot milk in the jug with the coffee was a delight. I arrived late and tired and went to the pub next door for a nightcap. The girl at reception told me that they had an arrangement with the pub to drop the glass back in the morning if I wanted to take it to my room - Again another nice touch!

Review 88:No ventilation built in so you do need to keep both the room window and and bathroom window partly open to avoid misting.

Review 92:We have stayed at Faythe Guesthouse on previous occasions and alwaysfound it welcoming and comfortable. The bedroom is of a good size andthe beds allow a good night's sleep. The bathroom is compact andefficient with plenty of hot water. Breakfasts are extremely good witha wide choice of cold buffet items including fruit and yogurt. Hotdishes are cooked to order and include the usual Irish fry ups as wellas fish and kippers. The owners are super friendly and make you feel athome. This time were here for the Opera Festival and complimentary teaand cake is served in the afternoons. A well recommended place to stayin Wexford.

Review 93:The Faythe Guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay in Wexford. The hosts are lovely and very gracious and helpful. There are many choices for breakfast, and the food was delicious. And the home-baked items served at breakfast and at tea time were a special treat. The location is pleasantly quiet and a short walk to the center of town. Would gladly stay there again.

Review 94:Getting to look a bit dowdy and could do with a refurb I guess - but the good things definitely outweigh any minor negatives.

Review 96:Could not find a negative!

Review 97:Staff very helpful, breakfast very good, great variety to choose from. I doubt you would find better value for money in such a convenient location.

Review 98:The corridor in/ reception waiting area. First impressions was an off-odour and a cold or lacking atmosphere on arrival to that space. It takes away from quality that lies in ur stay here, ur warmth of staff, place and breakfast range.

Review 99:Breakfast was amazing. Best choice, 5 star quality cooking. Staff super friendly and helpful. Room warm.

Review 100:We ALWAYS got lost in the neighborhood of ancient streets!

Review 105:The signage to the Guesthouse were terrific around the town, so we found it easily. We received a very warm welcome and given a room on the main floor which was appreciated. While quite small, we had everything we needed in the room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was 'very good' and we would definitely stay again in this area of Ireland.

Review 106:5 Star breakfast, one of the best ever ! Siobhan ( owner) Extremely helpful, nothing too much trouble, lots of great advice for travelling and sites to visit

Review 107:We have stayed at The Faythe guesthouse a number of times and have always had a very warm welcoming stay. We find the owner and all the staff very helpful always ensuring the service you receive is to a high standard. The breakfast is very varied and there is something to suit all taste. A very nice stay as usual.

Review 108:We loved our time at Faythe Guesthouse. Damien was very friendly and informative. We didn't get in until later in the evening and he provided us with a map and different restaurants in the area that would still be open. Breakfast was great the next morning. Our room had a view where we could see the ocean. Room was large and very comfortable.

Review 109:Location perfect for exploring the town; breakfast was the tastiest among all the places we dined; the owners cooled our wine for our pre-dinner sipping; we sat in the garden and enjoyed the restful atmosphere. Our room had a gorgeous view of the coastal waters. We highly recommend.

Review 110:Beautiful room with large bathroom. There is a full sit down breakfast included in the price which is very reasonable. A beautiful sitting room gives you a place to relax outside your room and the town is only two blocks away.

Review 111:Room was slightly cold but I feel the cold anyway

Review 112:The room was comfortable and nicely decorated! The breakfast was amazing and the owner and his wife were friendly and I would definately stay here again! Compared to other hotels locally, the rooms were just as high a standard but much more reasonably priced! My mother in law was very impressed and that is high praise indeed!!
