Reviews for Sofia Apartments

Review 1:Shower and shower rail a little tricky to deal with.

Review 2:Very peaceful at the poolside, exactly what we were looking for on our holiday... in fact some days it felt like we had our own private pool. Very clean and tidy.

Review 3:Glance tilts in the apartment are very slippery when getting wet. The beds are hard. All night two gods are barking at the neighbor's house. Every day except Sunday at 4.30 a.m. the track came to pick up the dustbins 20 meters ahead of the balcony. If open the door to the balcony at night you'll listen the neighbors' conditional coolers are working loudly.

Review 4:Nice place not far from the sea. The hosts and staff are really very helpful. Very clean rooms. Everyday cleaning. Wifi is really very good due to 2 repeaters at the area. Big pool with child area, beach chairs and umbrellas.

Review 5:Very very weak wifi in our apartment. Outside of the house is much better.

Review 6:Nice, clean apartment close to good restaurants and small shops. Big Carrefour is 3 km away, sunset beach is 20 minutes walk. Sofia apartment is good base if you want explore west Crete by car.

Review 7:the wirelees network was very weak

Review 8:The location was near bus station and beaches within 1 km near, the rooms were very clean and staff very friendly and helpful

Review 9:problem with hot water, not always available very early mornig, but we managed

Review 10:Very friendly and helpfull owner, close to Hania and mayor h-wy. good place to explore the west Kreta. Very clean and quiet space in September. Nice tawern and grocery store close by. We enjoy the place and was perfect for our needs.

Review 11:Firstly, Sofia's was very easy to get to & find. We decided totravel by bus from Chania Airport into Chania town centre & then towalk around the corner to Square 1866 where we caught a second bus toKalamaki (the total journey only cost about 4 Euro per person so muchbetter value than a taxi which we were told would be in the region of 35Euro). This was made even easier as Sofia & Voula had sent me veryhelpful emails including the times of the airport bus. Our hosts reallydid go the extra mile even before our holiday started. When we arrivedour room was just as requested (a one-bedroom apartment on as high astorey as possible with balcony & sea view). My seven year olddaughter was delighted with the children's section of the swimmingpool & we both loved relaxing on the sun terrace around it. Theapartments are situated within walking distance of plenty of very goodrestaurants; some with access onto their own beaches. There is also avery handy local shop (larger than a convenience store or Tesco Expressbut smaller than a supermarket) which we would walk to on our way backto the apartments to pick up breakfast supplies (oranges to squeeze, water melons, croissants, pastries, really good bread, salami &cheese) & sometimes something for dinner if we were staying in(normally in the uk I love to cook from scratch but I was very impressedwith the pasta sauces & even more so with the authentic tastingGreek style tinned meatballs). Going to that shop on the way back from aday on Kalamaki main beaches took us on a different, even quieter routeto the apartments, with great views of the mountains on one side &the sea on the other. Wow! I'm already thinking about booking fornext year! Loved it!

Review 12:Everything was exactly like on the pictures and advertised. really nice room and location as there's seaside street with restaurants and shops just 5 min walk away. Plus really good loaction connecting with high-way between Heraklion-Chania-Kissamos as we had a rental car and it was easy to travel around the island as Chania itself felt really busy for driving. The owners were just really lovely and helpful.Would definitely recommend and would love to stay there if going back to Crete.

Review 13:Nothing. No frills but so reasonably priced and perfect location combined with such warm hospitality.

Review 14:A small family-run apartment building. Rooms were basic but well thought out and cleaned daily. Run by a lovely, helpful family who could not do enough to please guests. Complimentary water, beer and an ice cream for my daughter was a lovely welcome. Pool area spotless Apartments cleaned daily. lots of towels. Air con, free wifi and free room safe are not usual at the reasonable price. Short stroll to beach, shops, bars, buses... Great! :-)

Review 15:The cleaning could be more often, it was about every 3 days, but sometimes more often. Not crucial, but still.

Review 16:The place is great if you have a car. Bus stops are near, though. Small supermarkets are just outside, big ones easy reachable by car, and it's really quite and peaceful there. We stayed at Mezonete (separate building with 2-level appartments). The mezonete itself is very nice. It's decored with some style and love and don't look like a "walls and bed" and very suitable and fresh. Kitchen has all that you need to make breakfast/dinner. It was well equipt, like hair-dryer, drying vessel on the balcony and etc. WiFi worked well, air conditioning too - quiet and effective. We had free in-room safe avaliable and a parking place, it's great. Stuff was very nice and helpful.

Review 17:The apartment was very nice and had a large balcony. The pool was clean and nice, and Sofia and her family were very kind and helpful. The hotel is located rather close to a fine sandy beach and local restaurants. Taking the bus to Chania was very easy. We had a great time at Sofia's in June 2014 and can definitely recommend it! Great value for money!

Review 18:Very nice, clean and comfortable apartments with about 7min walk to the beach. Hotel is a family-run, owners are very friendly and helpful. Hotel has a very good wi-fi coverage, with several hotspots around the building.

Review 19:Great hospitality, kind and helpful owners.

Review 20:Shower filled up whilst showering. And a little noisy due too wooden doors, but I am being very picky, I really liked it.

Review 21:Really nice place to stay

Review 22:fantastic staff & owners perfect location all very helpful

Review 23:Great value for money. Good location to explore west Crete.

Review 24:skift af håndklæder og sengetøj bør skiftes 2 x ugen

Review 25:roligt, sted tæt ved vandet, centrealt

Review 26:cockraches at the room walls and sofa was a bit yucky

Review 27:quiet little hotel, nice staff, good view to sea

Review 28:Great location of the hotel, amazingly hospitable and friendly staff.

Review 29:Sofia was wery helpfull in organising daily activities with a lot of usefull info.

Review 30:It has an overall old look. The furniture and paint as well as the A/C need more than a cosmetic repair. Our apartment was too dark overall and very warm. Bathroom is quite small and the curtain doesn't really work. There is water all over.

Review 31:Kitchenette takes some juggling, we managed though.

Review 32:Spacious studio apartment and balcony. Good sized pool. Owners and staff very friendly and helpful. Sandy beaches with good shallow access within walking distance. Quietish location, which was nice for relaxing, with a few couple/family friendly bars and restaurants nearby. Only a 3 min walk to bus stop for a short hop to Chania or Agia Marina for lots more choice.

Review 33:We arrived at Chania in the evening. I had printed off the directions but could not get the link in my email to open up the maps on my iphone. It took us an hour to find the apartment as google maps took us to the wrong address.

Review 34:Very friendly, lovely pool. Clean. Close to the beach. Great value for money.

Review 35:At night time we where somewhat disturbed by barking dogs in the area around the hotel.

Review 36:Small cozy hotel with very personal and friendly staff. We felt like a part of their family. Please note that there is no immediate beach close to the hotel It is in fact just 5-10 minutes walk in between two excellent beaches. I can recommend room 14.

Review 37:A very nice accommodation with views of the sea and the little harbor, Voula and her family do everything to make you comfortable and we felt at home this week. The apartment is well equipped and it is clean and tidy. We have been to Crete many times but have never lived in an apartment so quiet no noise that disturbed night sleep. The hotel is near the bus stop to Chania, but there are nice restaurants in the village as well. We recommend the hotel to those who want the Greek hospitality and appreciate to stay at a smaller hotel.

Review 38:Great staff. We could not find the hotel, but we were met and held. The room is clean, big balcony, wi-fi in the room.

Review 39:small bathroom, windows not all sun covered (wake up of morning light)

Review 40:Big space room, Direct road access

Review 41:not all the rooms have a view from their balcony.

Review 42:the friendly hosts Voula and Antonis always available to help and make our stay as nice as possible.
