Reviews for Areti Aparthotel
Review 1:None
Review 2:The accommodation is extremely plush & comfortable, overlooking Souda Bay. The staff are very friendly & attentive. It provides meals & has a pool bar, which is great, as the hotel is away from the main tourist areas. Breakfast is very good with many choices & no limitations. We only stayed 1 night, but on reflection, if we wanted a quiet retreat for a week with a good pool, this would definitely be a place that we would seriously consider. It is off the 'beaten track' but well worth the visit.
Review 3:There were many problems with wi-fi connection Bed mattress was first hard , but cleaner brought us a mattress cover and it was really nice of her
Review 4:The hotel was very clean and beautifil, location is a little bit hard to find but it is so peaceful and quiet. Staff was really friendly and helpful and our room was with an amazing sea view.
Review 5:Beautiful quiet location, large studio with view over Souda bay and lovely big pool. Great buffet breakfast with the best feta cheese ever tasted and try the pergamanto preserve with yoghurt - yummy! Mary and her daughters Marina and Anna are absolutely charming and looked after us extremely well. Close to village with three tavernas. Highly recommended. We would definitely go back.
Review 6:the picture of the room we had reserved was better than the room we were given poor breakfast : sometimes bad bread and small variety of choice
Review 7:big swimming pool
Review 8:No wifi in room 7 on our smartphones. Very light on our laptop. No dishwashes, sponge, sieve, cork opener... Several spiders in the room... :-( Simple breakfast ok 2 single beds instead of a big doublebed.
Review 9:Very spacious, nice balcony. Very nice complex in general. Many flowers. Beautiful garden and swimmingpool. TV, many sockets, kitchenette ok. Quality price very good! Top welcome. I asked to get some kitchen useful tools and i got it without any problem.
Review 10:Chairs on the balcony and at the pool bar were very uncomfortable. Toiletries provided were basically two bars of soap. No mattress covers on the beds.
Review 11:Beautiful views and a lovely pool. Breakfast was adequate but a bit repetitive.
Review 12:The white wine we ordered at the pool bar was awful it was replaced but still not good and the bar prices were very high. Had the prices been more reasonable we would have sat at the bar met and chatted with other holiday makers and spent more money. Wet balcony where the air-con off run deposited the water instead of going down the drain.
Review 13:It was lovely and quiet and the pool was wonderful and very clean
Review 14:I wouldn't call it a bad experience. The location was secluded, which was great because it meant no noise, but being from a different country it was kind of hard to find in the beginning. The beds were two beds pushed together, so it was 100% but it was still comfortable!
Review 15:Breakfast was great!!!!!!!
Review 16:- poor maintenance - bathrooms not a high level - too many stairs (we have a 2 months old baby and relevant pram) - wifi is not working properly
Review 17:- Swimming pool is amazing! - the external part of the buildings is superb
Review 18:ABSOLUTELY NOTHING !!!!
Review 19:Absolutely fabulous. A true paradise set on a beautiful island. Quiet and serene with amazing pool and free Wifi ! The wonderful family who ran it could not have done anymore for us. A real gem !!
Review 20:No bad experience
Review 21:The hotel is typically Greek and understated. It is amazing value for money and I wish that I could make it my "mobile hotel" and take it around the world! I loved the peace and quiet, respectful clientelle from all countries and the magnificent swimming pool.
Review 22:Wifi was not always working and sometimes slow, hard bed
Review 23:Excellent location, friendly staff, quit place, spacious rooms, great large pool, pool bar, ...
Review 24:The bed was a bit tough for my taste, but it is a preference.
Review 25:The view from the hotel was beautiful, the pool is big and beautiful as well. The room was clean, spacious, and had a great view. The reception area, breakfast area, and the grounds are amazing. The staff was Amazing, cordial, and helpful. We wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely come back one day. Thanks to all the amazing staff at the hotel.
Review 26:Great place & location, with in walking distance of nearby village approximately 20 minutes. Mary & her family were very welcoming & we enjoyed our stay there very much, hopefully we will return.
Review 27:We were made so welcome by Mary and Anna. They helped whenever they could and we felt like part of the family, enjoying much of the home grown produce. We wanted to visit the Samaria Gorge and Mary arranged this at short notice with a company called IO Tours (Recommended) and our evening meal was waiting for us after a long hot day. The appartment was spacious (the largest room on our holiday) and comfortable. Try the thick yoghurt and the pergamonto ! Try Anna's Wraps ! A nice quiet location a short drive to Chania We were very spoilt and I thank you all.
Review 28:Location was little difficult for us as we were travelling in a group of 9 and had a big car. Also, the name at the entrance said hotel Apeth and we were looking for the name Areti. This was bit confusing. The best way to reach this hotel is via the location coordinates on google maps as indicating the name itself will not show the correct location.
Review 29:The property and the view were excellent. Very well maintained. Hosts were super nice. 10 on 10 for cleanliness. We couldn't have expected anything better.
Review 30:The mattress is not very confortable
Review 31:The hosts are very friendly and helpful Nice view from the room Wonderful swimming pool Easy to visit the island from Areti
Review 32:Mary and her family treated us like we were part of their family. The property, the amenities and the location are unmatched, but it is the people at this hotel who will truly cause us to return.
Review 33:The beds were not very comfortable and neither was the sofa. The self-catering space was very minimalist, OK to prepare a very basic meal. The knifes were not great to chop.
Review 34:Very quiet, with a n ice view Very nice, friendly, generous and helpful staff Good breakfast Nice swimming pool Apartment were cleaned every day Great location with lots of things to do within 30 minutes (or less) in car
Review 35:The only problem was finding the place. The accomodation ran under "Souda", but in fact it is located 20 minutes by car further East in Aptera. You have to have a car to reach it. We did receive a mail from the hotel management reminding us of our travel dates, but, contrary to the host's information, it contained no travelling directions.
Review 36:Perhaps not the most important accessoire in an hotel, but the outside pool is spectacular!! Also, the view is fantastic.
Review 37:The weather turned rather stormy when we were there. Would love to go back in the summer to use that big pool.
Review 38:Great view of Souda Bay. Pool was very big . Good breakfast. Would stay again.
Review 39:The family apartment is only one room with sevral beds. Do not turn down the little road to the hotel, there is no way to turn around. I was able to park just around the corner about 20 meters down the road.
Review 40:The view from the pool deck are spectacular. We enjoyed a very nice dinner when we arived only 10 euro a person. Very quite. Was a nice place to explore Crete from.
Review 41:Areti Aparthotel was great. A quiet hotel to get totally relaxed. The breakfast was great with local ingredients and the staff was always with a smile. Great big pool and bar. Good prices and the location of the hotel was high on the mountain. In the village (500m) from the hotel there were a view great restaurants also with very good cheap prices! I recommand this hotel to people who trully wanna relax ...Thanks for everything Areti Aparthotel
Review 42:Very calm with a nice view. The place was a little windy which was a good thing as we almost never needed to switch AC on. Clean room. We tested their olive oil and it wasnexcellent!
Review 43:We did have difficulty finding the Areti on arrival in Crete as the location is quite remote from the airport especially as it was midnight when our flight got in.Also maybe a little more English language choice on the television but that was only a minor thing.
Review 44:We enjoyed two ideal chill out relaxing weeks in the Areti. Our apartment was spotless - serviced every day - with a magnificent view of Souda Bay.The breakfast included many local products which were fresh and plentiful. The owner family were gracious and always available which added greatly to the experience.all in all a fabulous holiday in the ideal surroundings.
Review 45:Nothing
Review 46:We spent a relaxing week in this beautiful aparthotel. Unlike the majority of other guests we did not have a car but this was not a problem as we wanted to chill out. We ate in the two excellent tavernas in the village in the evening and spent our days lazing at the beautiful pool. Merina provided us with a delicious lunch each day at the poolside bar. Mary, Anna , Panos and Merina were super hosts.Wifi in the rooms was inconsistent but we managed to FaceTime our family from the pool area! The walk to the village takes about 10 - 15 minutes. Very safe but recommend a torch or flashlight on mobile phone as part of the road is unlit. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Not in the least touristy!
Review 47:Wifi - Lots of problems in the area so don't expect it to be always on.
Review 48:Very Quiet - Nothing to do but relax, so no young loud people. Beautiful location with views on bay. Family run so very pleasant personnel. Beautiful deep swimming pool! Sheep's crossing at 7:30am with tiny bells make a great alarm clock for you to wake up for breakfast.
Review 49:The photos on the website do not necessarily correspond to the rooms. There are 4-5 studios on the ground floor that do not have a real window but only let in light through the door (when open) and a higher up smaller window in contrast to the photos shown on the website that are all pictures from the upper floor apartments. This should be reflected correctly on the website so that disappointment is avoided at arrival. Breakfast: Fresh fruits as in the other places would be a nice addition.
Review 50:Nice location on a hill with great views.
Review 51:It is a great place, very nice owners, clean and quiet, I totally recommend it. 5 minutes by car from the beach. But you need a car. Make sure to hike around the surrounding hills. Also the good was very good and reasonably priced. I will definitely return!
Review 52:No restaurant in the hotel (from times to times they organise dinners at a fixed price - cheap). Difficult to find especially at night (learn, how the name of the hotel is written in Greeck, as the signs are in that language).
Review 53:Good swimming pool and breakfast. Nice stauff. We were satisfied in total. The rest of Aptera village and a few rustic restaurants close to the hotel.
Review 54:Sometimes the Wifi didn't have good signal.
Review 55:The location was very magnificent. Ideal if you want to leave from the crown of city. You will need a Car. The breakfast was very rich with many local products. In addition, there was a bar in hotel which had anything you need. Very professional behaviour and warm hospitality.
Review 56:Nothing. See you next year Areti:)
Review 57:The place is just perfect. Beautiful garden and big swimming pool, relaxing and quiet place, beautiful view to sea and to mountains. The owner Mary was wonderful and helpful. Close to village and tavernas.
Review 58:Internet was not working, not in the room, nor in the lobby.

Review 67:Lets say no beach near by but it wasnt a problem for us :)
Review 68:Large and deep swimming pool! Fantastic hosts (Maria, Anna, Dmitros etc.)
Review 69:Beautiful setting, very helpful staff , excellent breakfast
Review 70:pool
Review 71:No shower curtain

Review 75:great location, view was awesome, clean and big pool. and service was just fantastic. will come again.
Review 76:Location of the resort was isolated, farther than I had expected.
Review 77:Staff were very pleasant, especially the lady who prepared the breakfast. :-)
Review 78:Hard to arive there. Weak wi-fi.
Review 79:Very nice location. Beautiful view. Nice rooms and nice facilities. Very nice personnel. Very good breakfast.
Review 80:A good hotel at a very nice location.
Review 81:Nice quiet location, a fair drive outside of Chania. Great big swimming pool.
Review 82:good location and facilities, very nice and polite stuff, we had a very good time.
Review 83:Far from chania
Review 84:The swimming pool and the bar
Review 85:Bathroom, how can you take a shower with one hand?????? Dated furniture. Very unpolite cleaning staff.
Review 86:Location,bay view and pool.
Review 87:Excellent place and very accomodating. when arrived view was obliterated by overgrown foliage. When mentioned this to owner, within minutes, she had organised bushes to be trimmed and then had panoramic view!!
Review 88:The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable bed (as we requested). The place was quiet and breakfast very good. It was a good location from which to explore some of the back roads; there was an outstanding drive down the Therisos gorge. There was also an excellent taverna at Drakona called Ntounias with food cooked over a wood-fired oven.
Review 89:a fantastic hotel run by very professional and kind people. the studio we stayed in was above average in size and facilities. the breakfast buffet was excellent. we plan to return and stay again-next year.
Review 90:Nothing. Can't wait for our next trip to Crete and our future stay at Areti. Thanks again Mary.
Review 91:Arrived at 8:30pm and was greeted by the hotel owner, Mary, who offered us dinner. One could not ask for a more genuine and caring hotel owner. Hotel is set in an ideal location with both mountain and Souda Bay views. Only a 20 minute drive to Chania, 25 minutes to Limnopoulis water park, and an hour from the beautiful beaches in western Crete. Many excellent restaurants nearby. Hotel also offers a very large and beautiful pool for ultimate relaxation.
Review 92:Hello everyone, We want to commend the hotel. Hospitality was wonderful, the hotel staff was wonderful and welcoming. As we arrived nighttime meal. To warm attitude we received during our stay. And is close to the beautiful beaches and the city of Chania. In addition, anyone interested in seeing the West Crete, is an excellent place to stay and exit west. Strongly recommend...
Review 93:take the car and drive ten minutes to the beach.
Review 94:the staff is politeness and availability. lunch and dinner are excellent. the site, located between the hills of olive trees, is romantic. I spent the afternoon on the edge of the immense pool lulled by the chirping of cicadas.
Review 95:the place is just perfect. calm, relaxing, beautiful, very very clean, great view, great breakfast with fresh ingridiants only, great pool, smiling and welcoming team. I highly recommend
Review 96:Beds could be more comfortable via better quality mattreses
Review 97:Staff really friendly and helpful. Very relaxed and quiet. Pool and facilities great .Breakfast very good. Excellent value for money. Close to village and tavernas.
Review 98:burnt landscape until you reach the hotel
Review 99:warm welcoming, big variety in breakfast ,clean rooms and gardens, excellent quality of traditional food by the swimming pool, even if I was alone I enjoyed it..it is worthy to visit the ancient castle of Aptera.
Review 100:- bad navigation to the hotel (google maps has bad information) - bathroom wasn`t so clean (cobwebs, insects - moths I think) - shower facilities could be better
Review 101:+ quality/price + quite near to Chania and airport (Chania) + swimming pool + good breakfast + small kitchenette
Review 102:The hotel is in a peaceful location with views over Souda Bay. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is excellent. Breakfast was very good. Excellent value for money.
Review 103:Shower facilities could have been more up to date, a kettle in the roomwould have been better than boiling a pan.
Review 104:The owners and staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Thequiet hillside location was just what we like, and you would need a car.The rooms were ok , typically Greek, breakfast in my opinion was great, because it was all fresh produce and a better quality than other Greekhotels I have stayed at. Would recommend if a quiet location and greatviews are required.
