Reviews for Clifton Park Hotel
Review 1:The only thing i didnt like about the trip was the checkout time 10am and they was sticklers with this our key was de coded at 9-50 couldnt get in the room after breakfast to pick up our bags.
Review 2:Everything was spot on lovely hotel couldnt complain about anything with the facilities food staff ect.
Review 3:Not in location as on yr website...address on their own brochure was StAnnes on Sea Was Not same as one on yr site Lytham St Annes. No lift toour attic room...lift was listed on site...I Have disability and wouldnot choose place with no lift. I do not need special requirements...justlift as advertised. Back attic room view of waste land with job centre. No bath as advertised. Faults in room too many to list. Notoiletries...no hooks or shelf in bathroom...biscuits on 1st day butnone after...nasty trick
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:One of the rooms wasn't really suitable, too small, glass door into bathroom not a good idea.
Review 6:Staff very pleasant ,friendly and helpful.Didn't know it was turkey and tinsel weekend so the decorations were a lovely surprise
Review 7:We went in October and it was decorated for Christmas!!
Review 8:The hotel was clean and tidy if a little dated. We had a decent room but the stairs are very narrow if you struggle with stairs they are a challenge and we were right at the top of the hotel. Breakfast was very good.
Review 9:Booked two executive double. These were not executive rooms and were twin beds pushed together. Beds/mattress need to be renewed uncomfortable beds. No hot water in the room and unable to take a shower. Rooms were dated and in need of decorating. One member of breakfast staff rude and dismissive to a family member. Scrambelled egg over cooked. Due to coach parked on front drive some guests were blocked in from early evening and overnight. Staff are very busy rushing around unfortunately guests appear to be an after thought and inconvenience at this hotel. Informed someone from maintenance would fix the shower this did not happen the receptionist came to check the shower herself to confirm what I had already told her. This did not get fixed during my stay. The hotel was full. On arriving at the hotel it was explained that all the Christmas decorations in the hotel are for the Turkey and tinsel weekends which go on for 3 months from Sept. To January. I was promised a call from the manager later in the afternoon as he was not in. I am still wiring for my call. This hotel is run by staff who do not appear to understand the importance of customer service. All I was given were excuses which insulted my intelligence and frankly is very unprofessional.
Review 10:Rooms were warm, a few staff members were helpful in particular male waiter at breakfast. This hotel is adapted and popular with elderly visitors. More geared to older generation for entertainment.
Review 11:WATCH OUT FOR COACH BLOCKING YOUR CAR IN CAR PARK
Review 12:HOTEL WAS CLEAN ,COMFORTABLE, STAFF COURTEOUS, HANDY FOR SHOPS AND BUS TO BLACKPOOL OR TRAMS TO FLEETWOOD
Review 13:I felt that some of the dining room staff at breakfast wanted to get rid of you as quick as possible. The first morning there was a limited choice for breakfast.
Review 14:The Swimming Pool and the convenience of the back door.
Review 15:Book executive double base on the “photo” on the booking.com website Theroom allocated was far from executive being very tired and in need oftotal upgrade As for the bathroom well!! On discussing ourdisappointment with reception the reply was, “You have book viabooking.com and the photo’s of the rooms are generic. You have our lastroom”. We took this to imply, that all the rooms were the same as ours.As it happens they are not all the same, we got the sort straw!! Wouldwe go back not a chance
Review 16:The drive home
Review 17:room was extremely small ,only fit for a single bed, breakfast staff where slow and non accommodating , no idea if we had to help ourselves or order food ,breakfast Luke warm and not nice at all ,no offer of top up coffee
Review 18:reception staff where very pleasant, hotel clean
Review 19:disabled traveler. No disabled rooms. Very difficult and it was a very small room and bathroom. Not informed by the hotel they did not have disabled rooms even having spoken to them the day before I traveled.
Review 20:the entertainment
Review 21:This hotel caters more for the 65 years plus visitor. The staff were more focused towards their needs. Our executive room was very dated and tired and basic.
Review 22:The location is good if you want to stay in the area. If you wanted to see the illuminations or visit Blackpool then you would definitely need a car.
Review 23:I stayed in room 110, a single room. The bedroom was adequate but the bathroom was a let down. Shower far to small, just having a waterproof curtain meant it was hard to wash, as it kept sticking to you and you could not keep the water from going on the general floor area. Just to small.
Review 24:The public areas are spacious and well appointed. Having access to the gym and pool included in you stay was well worth it. The staff are professional and polite.
Review 25:Booked out after the first night. Only got half my money back for the night I didn't stay, Only got it when I showed them the pictures I took of the room. Disgusting.
Review 26:Our bedroom was directly above the ballroom and we were not told at that there was to be entertainment that evening. Our bedroom was shaking with the noise. We complained and the bass was turned down but it was still horrendous. We had travelled a long way and were looking to get an early night as we had a full day the next day but were able to because of the noise. The room was in need of updating and the bed was very soft. There was a thread bare seat in the corner which really could have done with being thrown out.
Review 27:it was close to the venue we were attending for a friend's wedding.
Review 28:Downside,surprised it states lift to all floors, not to our room there wasn't,(519),we were only there 2 nights, otherwise it would have been a big problem,1 or 2 members of staff need to smile a bit more, but most of the staff very friendly and obliging.
Review 29:Very pleasant and relaxing visit, quiet and very clean hotel.breakfast very good.
Review 30:a very lovely hotel with very friendly professional service, especiallly the extremely nice breakfast and the ladies who served the super dishes, thank you
Review 31:our allocated room was to hot,no ventilation or very little. IT was noisey due to the coolers outside.
Review 32:our room change, was very good air conditioned, much larger, with a bath as well as a shower.
Review 33:Small room. Inattentive staff. Average breakfast. Was asked to move tables in the middle of breakfast because 3 old women insisted on sitting at same table they had dinner at the night before even though there were several other vacant tables. Staff appeared miserable and uninterested.
Review 34:comfortable bed.
Review 35:The best thing about our stay was the staff from first walking through the door to finally leaving they were all exceptional. Friendly , incredibly helpful and efficient. Thank you.
Review 36:not a bad experience at all but this hotel seems to be popular with the elderly which suited my mother but I felt a bit out of place at age 56
Review 37:close to shops, sea front and buses to Blackpool
Review 38:Nothing at all to comment on things went just as a guest wants
Review 39:The hotel is situated very conveniently wherever you want to go, it is in a quiet area so guests are able to have a rest without being disturbed, the staff help at every request you make, it is excellent value for money I hope it can maintain the high profile it has and I will return
Review 40:hotel needs to be updated with some of it's décor, very clean but lets it self down with woodwork and radiators in bathrooms which were very tatty.
Review 41:hotel easy to find as on main road, staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 42:Shower very weak(poor water pressure) EXTREMELY rude 'greeter' at breakfast and poor service
Review 43:Great location Clean Swimming pool and jacuzzi looked lovely(did not use)
Review 44:Breakfast was not as well organised as it could have been. There is no fried or poached egg within the self service selection,so you have to ask for them. The gym is a little tired. The equipment needs to be upgraded and serviced to offer a better experience.
Review 45:The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The pool was excellent
Review 46:Would have looked at coming back with daughter for illuminations but have a no kids policy - shame. One sitting only at 7pm for evening meal but worth it if you can make it. Sadly didn't get chance to use swimming pool
Review 47:Excellent one night stay within easy reach of main facilities in Blackpool as on main bus route. Superb evening meal & breakfast. Excellent staff - lad on reception also served evening meal very efficiently.
Review 48:took us 50 minutes to check in, madam on reception thought she was miss super efficient madam this & madam that but we were sent to wrong room (a single i.e. mum & daughter) then manager said mistakes happen? room was not very clean, sink dirty, shower tiny, dust on window sills
Review 49:stayed her many times last stay feb nice room, friendly staff in breakfast room same lady this visit, could hardly raise a smile>
Review 50:The car parking can be a problem and some of the bedrooms are small .The evening meal is only served at 7pm.
Review 51:Friendly staff including reception, restaurant and bar staff .Small swimming pool and quite handy for the local shops and beach.
Review 52:Having to walk through smokers at entrance. Cigarette butts lining the front entrance it demeans the hotel. Area should be set aside for smokers. Its horrible. Cost of evening meal. Far too expensive
Review 53:Location.Breakfast. Good staff and facilities. Cost .
Review 54:Room was a little bit dated and getting ready for a makeover, but was nice and clean.we were at the back of the hotel.
Review 55:Young lady on reception was very helpful. breakfast was very good.
Review 56:room very small not worth £119 .. shower poor really hot in rooms other people complaining , water ban on and couldn't even be botherd to put us a bottle of water in room , breakfast made out of cheap ingredients , had better up in blackpool for half the price !!!
Review 57:location good bed sheets clean although towels had makeup on and the guy on reception was miserable !!! wont return here !!!
Review 58:Overpriced for the size of the shoebox we were in. Address does not match the actual location. We parked outside 299 only to find the hotel was 100m down the road on the opposite side. Parking was very poor. If you needed the toilet you had to be a contortionist or smaller than 4ft in height.
Review 59:Dirty run down room. Don't know who has been giving the good reviews as they didn't match the hotel just awful wouldn't have stayed there for free
Review 60:Nothing left when we saw the room
Review 61:despite requesting a ground floor room we were put up two flights of stairs in the part of the hotel with no lift. Staff at breakfast not very friendly & gave no information about being able to order anything other than was on the buffet. Although soft & seemingly new the bath towels were far too small.
Review 62:location was good, towels were soft
Review 63:No blackout curtains so very light from 3.30am. Quite noisy with slamming doors early morning. Bedrooms a little dated and furniture past it's best.
Review 64:Location very good. Staff very good and very friendly.
Review 65:Bedroom was adjacent to linen cupboard & staff where collecting bedding etc from quite early in the morning, unfortunately the floor boards leading to the linen cupboard where extremely noisy.
Review 66:Bed very comfortable & room had air conditioning. Excellent breakfast & friendly staff.
Review 67:The parking wasn't ideal especially as booking had indicated it was possible to reserve a space.
Review 68:The jacuzzi was, lovely a real special addition. The location was great - within a few minutes of the beach and centre The room was nicely decorated and comfortable
Review 69:i loved the hotel the way it was set up the rooms where nice best of all it had a swimmin pool just went in once, the staff where fab kind an well respected, they where there when need, quick customer service, all the residents that where there before they where all nice an lovly, overroll everything an everyone where fab, next time in blackpool ill defo come back to clifton park hotel
Review 70:Small cramped room with dated fixtures, fittings & decor in need of modernisation. Mediocre breakfast
Review 71:Good location, friendly & helpful staff. Free parking
Review 72:Some of the rooms, although very clean, a bit tired looking. Breakfast can be very busy. A bit expensive.
Review 73:Good buffet breakfast. Easy access in & out Blackpool. Very clean.
Review 74:No indication that breakfast tables were allocated and a prominent list or notification in the documentation, would have saved some embarrassment. First place I've been with that arrangement so without notification of some sort, how is anyone to know.
Review 75:Entertainment could have been better and some modernisation required but this didn't spoil our stay.
Review 76:Friendly staff, great food and we were looked after, we have already booked to return.
Review 77:poor wifi connection in the bedroom
Review 78:Hotel was in a good location, it was very clean and staff were very helpful. Nice breakfast. Exceptional value for money
Review 79:Friendly staff, spacious rooms, good value for money, excellent position near shops, beach, bars. Nice swimming pool.Only a minor glitch not enough parking spaces but you can park on road.
Review 80:I didn't like the parking, you need to be in very early to get a spot. The narrow stairs at the back made it hard for people with big cases. The smaller of the rooms was a bit cramped and the shower was cool
Review 81:I liked how certral it was. the food was very good.Nice and quiet at night.Entertainment was good and finished at 11:00 clock
Review 82:We had a problem with our seating arrangement which made us late starting our meal, but was professionally handed by a member of staff and finished with no further problems.
Review 83:I thought the location for facilities in St Annes was excellent It was easy to find I had no problems for parking
Review 84:Parking can be an issue if the hotel is full.
Review 85:The staff were helpful, courteous and friendly. The pool was excellent. The breakfast was very good. Make sure you let them know if you will have problems with stairs as there are a lot.
Review 86:The staff were very friendly especially Jamie. They were very helpful. The room was spotless and every was top notch. Me and my girlfriend had a perfect weekend away. Could not of asked for a better place to stay.
Review 87:the evening meal was horrific, spectacularly bad. The lamb was hugely over cooked and my partners scampi was the worst scampi I've ever tasted
Review 88:jacuzzi and swimming pool
Review 89:En suite very small. Breakfast adequate but only offered scrambled or boiled eggs, no fried. The toaster only toasted one side of bread.
Review 90:Public transport very good, and very close to shops and beach. I requested a front room if available and got it. Entertainment very good.
Review 91:The noise from a private party on Sat evening. The heaviness of the doors for my elderly mother. It took about 5 minutes to get hot water from the tap and shower.
Review 92:The staff were friendly and helpful, beds comfortable and clean
Review 93:If you want an evening meal after 8pm or breakfast before 8am hard luck.....(even though it says in the room guide that continental breakfast is available from 07:30 there's no one to make it)
Review 94:The disabled access room was of a very poor standard and the toilet extremely difficult for my mum to use The showers ran cold water all weekend in 3 out of the 4 rooms
Review 95:The executive room was nice and the staff worked hard
Review 96:only down side was the shower had no hot water
Review 97:great location, go out back of back door & your more or less in centre or take front door & your on front
Review 98:A little old dated, too warm, twin room beds only big enough for small children, other rooms small and crammed with furniture. Corridor old and small so don't take a suitcase
Review 99:Clean, gym and pool great but small, breakfast lovely . Manager very nice and moved us to 2 rooms at no extra cost.
Review 100:My only slight moan was the jacuzzi was on the cold side, the main pool was warmer. However when we reported this the staff were strict on it!
Review 101:The welcome and politeness of all the staff, who appeared to work long shifts was fantastic. Always a smile and willing to help. The breakfast was great and a fantastic selection was available, both hot and cold. We did not dine on an evening or watch 'the turn' but what we could slightly overhear from the lounge was ok if that floats your boat.
Review 102:We have previously stayed at this hotel and been allocated a room at the back of the hotel. So on this visit we had requested not to be at the back but unfortunately we were again given a small room at the back which was disappointing.
Review 103:We like the location and value for money for this hotel also the lounge area is comfortable and nicely furnished.
Review 104:The room was comfortable but small. The ensuite was very small
Review 105:The swimming pool and jacuzzi and all the areas to relax. The massage chairs and all the public areas. The food and all the very friendly and helpful staff. All the thoughtful touches: Shoe shine machine, plate warmer, bags to put wet costumes in.
Review 106:I found the hotel very untidy every door closed with a bang, bedroom well box room it was so small must of been hard getting the double bed in the room had a musky smell, everywhere you walked the floor creaked, didn't bother with the breakfast was just glad to get out, also the general manager on duty abrupt to say the least.. But then maybe a place like that goes with his character,
Review 107:Leaving in the morning
Review 108:Perhaps if there was some entertainment downstairs of an evening. Although sure that if more people were staying the bar would have stayed open and more entertainment
Review 109:Loved the quality of the hotel. The staff. The location. Couldnt fault it
Review 110:The bed could have been bigger but maybe we could have upgraded and the shower was poor
Review 111:All the staff were so frindly and couldnt do enough Clean throughout and the food was top class
Review 112:Only stayed one night. Can't complain about anything. Breakfast was ok, maybe stronger coffee for the younger guests ( under 50) thought the place had a good atmosphere.
Review 113:Requested a vegitarian breakfast on booking. When I mentioned this at the breakfast table told to choose from the buffet style breakfast bar.Only mushrooms on toast could be eaten, but was ok. though.
Review 114:The room was excellent, pool was great, nice to have a swim before breakfast every morning .Staff were very helpful.Bus stop over the road, 10 to 15 minutes ride into Blackpool. Hotel located in St. Annes, a pleasant town to have a late drink .
Review 115:Bed too small. Curtains badly hung so light got in. On arrival receptionist wasn't very friendly or welcoming. She was better when we checked out! Chap who was serving at breakfast was surly.
Review 116:Good location. Good breakfast. Nice and warm everywhere. Controls on radiators in the room.
Review 117:The bathroom looked tired. There was broken floor tile. It needed redecorating and new bath sink and toilet. The showers in the swimming pool didn't work properly and looked very clean. The decor was miss matched.the carpets gave my friends allergies to dust off. Food was not served after 8.00 pm.
Review 118:The swimming pool. The locality. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 119:The descriptions of this hotel were inaccurate. It was important for us to park on site and this hotel stipulated there was a car park. On arriving this was full and quite inadequate meaning we had to park on the street further down the road. The female receptionist was unhelpful in this. The twin bedded room was miniscule, so much so that the dressing table stool was hunched up on 2 legs to allow passage to the equally tiny shower room. The description stated there was a seating area this was in fact an upright chair placed between the dressing table and door. It also stated that every room had ironing facilities, well yes, but only if you brought up the shared iron and ironing board to your room which could not be accomodated in our tiny room. To be fair it wasn't too bad but please don't say things that aren't there.
Review 120:With the exception of the female receptionist when we arrived the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The general ambiance of the hotel and its communal areas were excellent. breakfast was of a good standard. Fabric in the bedroom was of a superior quality ie bed linen, curtains.
Review 121:Comfirmation from booking.com for hotel was a double room with seating area . Hotel denied this and we were given a very small double room. Also it would have been nice to be informed that a wedding reception was on.
Review 122:Liked pool , off road parking a plus , breakfast buffet very well laid out and good food.Staff helpful and very polite.
Review 123:nothing sticks in my mind, and it would if there was anything i did not like.
Review 124:loveley comfortable room with a small patio area outside the window where you could sit if the weather allowed. or if you were a smoker, your own space for a cigaret. the pool looked very inviting although we did not use it. the bed was the biggest we have ever had in this country and very comfortable.
Review 125:We liked it as it was easy walking distance to the coast & the local high street. Not stayed over in this town before, but will definitely be returning.
Review 126:Our double room was quite small possibly a single room at one time. Shower room and toilet very small if you bent to wash your face you were against the door. Towels also we're clean but past there best.
Review 127:Hotel was clean comfortable and warm. Breakfast good quality. Pool and jacuzzi good.
Review 128:The room was not as indicated on the picture; had 'joined' single beds and the floorboards were incredibly creaky. The room was also very hot. Entertainment downstairs was very noisy when upstairs in the bedroom.
Review 129:Location; Lytham is quiet and we were close to Blackpool for the Ballroom.
Review 130:Not able to purchase snacks when arriving late
Review 131:Polite efficient staff. Superb standard of accommodation. Staff obviously take a pride in the hotel and n delivering an excellent service.
Review 132:Didn't realise it was turkey and tinsel. Christmas songs at breakfast was not needed. However this is just a minor niggle.
Review 133:Staff lovely, comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
Review 134:View from window poor, although we had an executive room which was roomy.
Review 135:The dining room was good and the breakfast was also good. Swimming pool an asset.
Review 136:My bedroom room 519 had a central heating boiler in the cupboard which kept me awake every night.
Review 137:Had the warm swimming pool all to myself which was lovely.
Review 138:Not being told it was a Christmas theme. (Turkey & Tinsel) Christmas music all the time was to much.
Review 139:Location, room & staff very helpful. Stuart was wonderful, went out of his way for everyone & always smiling.( he should get a bonus)
