Reviews for Nautica Hotel Apartments
Review 1:There was great communication with the hotel prior to our arrival and the lady hotel manager explained all to us when we arrived and accommodated to our needs. The room felt like home. Other hotel guests were ever so considerate and we got lovely peace and quiet in a lovely setting even though the hotel was pretty full. There was a wonderful lady that came around daily to clean our apartment and whom made our stay the more comfortable and enjoyable. Location wise it is best to hire a car but if travelling with little luggage the bus stops on the E75 motorway just a couple of blocks from the hotel. Buses to Rethmno can get very full and uncomfortable. The taxi from Heraklion port cost us €90 e the one to Heraklion was €80. We absolutely loved our stay at Nautica Hotel and the little village of Stavromenos offers the basics such as a supermarket, bakeries, hairdresser, good food and the yellow tourist train stops nearby but had to be booked in advance. In Rethmno we took the red tour double decker bus which was a beautiful trip - take a coat as the weather up the mountain can be quite different from the coast. The bus will stop at Agia Irini, which was really meaningful and touching. It also stops by a gorge where you can do some adventurous walk to a restaurant - we didn't go, but it looked very inviting. Crete is absolutely beautiful and the Nautica Hotel was our highlight of this trip. We were secretly glad that the weather turned cold so we could enjoy our little holiday home.
Review 2:Great, quiet hotel by the see, with wonderful service. Big thank you and best regards to Eleftheria (the owner) for her kindness and assistance everytime we needed anything. Very nice restaurants near by, cool pool with salty water, rocky beach by the hotel with nice see life for snorkeling, and sandy beach within few minutes walking distance.
Review 3:Perfectly situated for a peacefull vacation, close to Rethymno, with tavernas (highly recommend the Eleven taverna) and supermarkets near by. Spacious and clean rooms with air conditioning, balcony, kitchen. Two pools, one for kids and a pool bar with great homemade pizza and frappe. Beautiful patio and beach, both have free sunbeds and umbrellas. Very good breakfast: sandwiches, butter, jam, eggs or omlette, fruits, dessert tea, coffee and juice. Eveyone who works there is very nice and friendly. We really enjoyed our 9 days stay
Review 4:Poor self catering options, meaning few and missed matched kitchen tools, plates and cups. Kind of old and used towels. No oven. Only one AC, in the bedroom. A lot of noisy people in the swimming pool after ten o'clock, until six in the evening. Unfortunately, no swimming pools rules were respected, although there were signs: no shower before pool, diving, a lot of noise and, the most bothering of all, no swimming helmet. As a result, a lot of hair was in the water, but they cleaned it often, with chemical products. As an advice, if you are looking for fun and noise, restaurants and music, then the north Creta is you ideal destination, lousy people won't bother you. But if you are looking for calm, peace, and you don't mind remote accommodation, you welcome the wilderness, then better try south Creta. Some deserted building near by. You also need a flashlight, for night walking around.
Review 5:Big size apartment, daily cleaning, changing sheets and towels every 3 days. Very clean. Big fridge. Big, clean and salty water swimming pool. Close markets near by, foot walking distance. Hotel is situated right on the rocky beach, wonderful view (sunset). Very friendly staff, English speaking. Late check out available upon request, we left around six o'clock in the evening. We did not try breakfast.
Review 6:Location far from the city center, shingle beach.
Review 7:Nice accomodation, well kept, cleaned and changed towels every 2nd day. Clean pool, nice and helpful staff, tastes great breakfasts.
Review 8:The double bed mattress in room 3 could use upgrading
Review 9:Great pool and beach. Comfortable large rooms. Extremely clean and well-kept rooms and facilities. Great as an overnight stopover on the way to more interesting and beautiful areas of crete.
Review 10:unfortunatelly the surrounding is not as inviting due to old construction site in the neighbourhood
Review 11:great atmosphere, friendly and generous owners, cosy restaurant in 50 m. The sea is not as friendly for small kids, but the pool is great alternative
Review 12:Minimal self catering facilities in the room, 2 rings & fridge only. No kettle, grill or counter top oven. Not so much a dislike, but no wall mounted shower holder in our bathroom, which was a bit frustrating, but no real problem.
Review 13:Large & airy room, good facilities, very clean. Wi-Fi was good but intermittent service. Location is fantastic overlooking the sea. Garden & pool area is lovely & well maintained. Pool bar offering good range of drinks & some snacks. Plenty of local taverna's within walking distance, offering excellent home cooked traditional Cretan food & hospitality.
Review 14:The TV wasn't working at all... it could have kill some time (while raining) by watching the TV nothing serious to be honest... maybe kitchen facilities a little more option but we managed well.
Review 15:We had a lovely Apartment, spacious enough for our 1 year old Baby, our baby was very happy running around and they provided a cot. the wifi was perfect (probably because of our location) we enjoyed every single moments of our time when the sun was shining. Sadly the rain came for 3 days but thats the ways things go... Over all we loved the place, even if the beach in the front is a bit rocky you can can still swim and enjoy if you rent a car there are tones of beach around to enjoy as well. Its a very relaxing place. Anyway the place has a lovely Pool for adults and children! :)
Review 16:when you need something you don't find nobody in reception all day or in bar need roof in balkony because it's sunny and hot in the morning
Review 17:Very beautiful hotel and view to mer and swimingpool, confort, good internet everywhere : room, swimingpool, beach . recomended for families and calm people, its very quiet .
Review 18:A bit difficult to find. There is not much privacy on the balcony, and a small wall of frosted glass between the balconies would be nice.
Review 19:This is the most beautiful place on earth. The owner is very nice and runs the place perfect. The room we got had the most amazing view. There is everything you need and if you ask for anything you get is right away. The pool area is perfekt and you can always find a sunbed or a place to relax. The cleaning is the best we have ever experienced. Breakfast is good and they serve fresh fruit, greek yoghurt and different kinds of bread and cake every day. The poolbar serves a nice pizza and drinks a very fair price. In the area there are several good restaurants that are very cheap - try to walk under the "highway" and visit the restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. We will definitely come back to Hotel Nautica.
