Reviews for Astarte Suites
Review 1:The staff was friendly and courteous. We got an upgraded senior suite. Food at the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced. Ill always stay at this place!
Review 2:If you're are not driving, the location maybe a bit inconvenient without any transportation.
Review 3:The hotel is so nice with an infinity pool. We were welcome by champagne and a large dish of fruits. The hotel staff are nice and explain all in details. The breakfast was served in the balcony of our room which we enjoyed the privacy. It offered free transfer from the hotel to the airport which is good for us as we didn't drive.
Review 4:Internet was poor but we don't go to santorini to go online so everything is good
Review 5:Everything is good location are marvelous, caldera view was awesome
Review 6:Location is not perfect. This area is relatively undeveloped comparing to Oia. Wifi drops sometimes and becomes slow during peak hours. Water seems to be sea water, which is the biggest flaw.
Review 7:The staff were excellent and extraordinarily helpful. Good dining options and great selection of local wines. The room was spacious. Breakfast was delicious. Also the free transportation between the property and the airport was awesome. The public infinite pool was fascinating
Review 8:This hotel is as the pictures - perhaps even better. The only minor negative is some quite taxing stairs leading to the hotel, but a small price to pay for the excellent views!
Review 9:Amazingly helpful and friendly staff at a beautiful location with stunning views. Fantastic breakfasts!
Review 10:We didn't stay long enough...
Review 11:The room and the view were truly amazing, Kostas and George are great!! All of the other staff really looked after us too and special thanks to George the waiter who was great and lots of fun! The pool area is breathtaking and the food and drink the best we had on the island and very reasonable prices for the quality. Thanks so much P&V
Review 12:Nothing - Only there were some problems with the Jacuzzi but solved immediately by the technician
Review 13:The owner and the staff were very friendly and helpful in providing everything for us starting from renting a car till the trips and dinners. The breath taking view. The breakfast in our room was delicious the quality of the food , the taste and the way it was presented is simply "Perfection". The owners of the hotel supervise everything themselves. The cooker of the Hotel is from the best chefs world wide.
Review 14:The shower was in the same area of the toilet and it kept getting wet. Was a bit weird.
Review 15:Absolutely everything of this place is perfection. Family run facilities with the kindest people ever. Every room has a perfect view, is a suite and you feel in paradise. Hotel was full when we went and we barely ever saw another guest, it felt we had the hotel for ourselves! Delicious breakfast!
Review 16:The staffs here was nice when we just arrive, but later I found they are not! I have a double room with a bath in, but the bath was really smelt, even I can't sleep I felt dizzy with that smell and they didn't solve it for me. Other side, the location is bad, there is 20mins to walk to the bus station.hotel's car is not always available. Also there is not many shops. For the view is nice, but is the worst view in Santorini.
Review 17:The hotel looks nice, especial the swim pool is really good. The room was clean. For the morning we got the room service for breakfast with the very nice sea and volcano view. It's a very quiet place.
Review 18:Took me 2 hours to find the hotel. No signs. They said it is to keep privacy, but thy are hiding from guests too!
Review 19:Everything, except that the hotel is too hidden.
Review 20:Wifi within the room was not strong enough.
Review 21:Service, everyone is extremly friendly and willing to help. Absolutely delicious food. We booked the suite with hot tub. From there we could enjoy the beautiful view of the Caldera during the night. In the morning the extended and well prepared breakfast from the terrace gives you the possibility to wake up again enjoying the view.
Review 22:Stairs from the road to the hotel was quite steep and stairs sloping (but that cant be helped as the position is wonderful).
Review 23:Service was outstanding. Welcome drink was delicious and then we arrived at our room.. Wow! Having just arrived from a more expensive hotel that we didn't enjoy, we were pleasantly surprised how very relaxed and comfortable we felt at Astarte.
Review 24:The fact that we had to leave! Location is away from Oia and Fira. Car rental is a must.
Review 25:Absolutely everything. Astarte Suite is the true gem of Santorini. We only spent 3 nights there, but it felt like a week. The staff were fantastic, the food delicious (especially breakfast). The views were extremely breath taking. George the manager upgraded our room from junior, to senior suite free of charge, you can not be given a greater welcoming than that!
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:The service of the suites is quite good. There is free transportation from port and airport to suites. The drive is waiting for us in the airport. They have arange the eary check in for us. The breakfast is also very good and with much more choice.
Review 28:Swimming pool is wonderful location. All staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable with nice seaview. Hope be here next time. Best
Review 29:Location is far away from the touristic cities but it is not a problem because renting a smart car or a quad is more funny.
Review 30:We have stayed for our honeymoon and we had a great time. Staff are gracious and so kind. They helped us for everything. We stayed at the corner room with the sea view, every morning they serve us a great breakfast in our balcony. It has a small, clean and decent pool area. Also there were jazz nights at the pool area which provides you candlelight dinner with a live music and a caldera view. Great choice for honeymoon.
Review 31:Room was quite small but comfortable. breakfast is served in your room every morning but you can select always the same things. As it's a luxury hotel, there's should be more options
Review 32:The location is amazing!
Review 33:leaving that place...
Review 34:The view and rooms of this boutique hotel are unbelievable. What makes a huge difference though is the friendliness and care of their staff. Many thanks!! The romantic dinner by the pool is highly recommended.
Review 35:For disabled, old or just really lazy people - there are 63 stairs to godown/up to/from the hotel. The wi-fi sometimes didn't work too well. Most people would want to rent a vehicle to see the main villages, since the hotel is pretty remote. But this could easily be a benefit, as it was for us. We rented an ATV for only 2 days out of the 6 we stayed... It was just too romantic inside to leave the hotel for too long :) But this is really nitpicking, and shouldn't deprive you of probably the best vacation you can get in Santorini ^_^
Review 36:Exclusive location, Quiet, huge rooms, best view in the entire island. If you're looking for a hotel in the middle of the main village, or a walking-distance from the attractions on the island - you may want to look elsewhere, but if you're looking for the most romantic vacation, with the best service and staff - look no farther. The room we stayed in was so big, and the outdoor Jaccuzi was just amazing. Everything was very clean and organized. Also, the breakfast each and every morning was VERY rich, and you can customize it every evening to your liking, with many options to choose from. We also had a late-evening flight back home, and the hotel let us stay in our room and use its facilities until the very last moment, although the checkout on paper was at 11:00AM. It was very considerate and thoughtful of the staff - who were always ready to answer all of our questions with a big smile and a great, positive attitude. Can't recommend it enough! Thanks you, Astarte Suites for a perfect honeymoon! OH! and the INFINITY POOL! WOW!!!
Review 37:-Jacuzzi in the room is not separated leading to bad chemical smell -Sand and small stones on the ground of the indoor Jacuzzi -One of the front manager was completely not service-oriented (George was great though)
Review 38:Stunning views from pool Great pool area Value for money
Review 39:Indoor Jacuzzi poses a difficult tradeoff. If you make it warm the room gets humid. If you keep it cool (the default), the room is comfy but the Jacuzzi isn't comfortable. Had learn process for manually warming the Jacuzzi using the faucet floating in the tub (recommended by staff) but ended up accidentally causing the Jacuzzi to overflow while gone from the room. When we came back, desk clerk admonished us for messing up (we felt bad but felt he made us feel worse than the actual damage which was none except mopping work since there is a drain on the floor). The thing is, a hotel this high end shouldn't even be designed in ways that guests can screw up. The Jacuzzi should auto-drain to prevent overflow.
Review 40:Views, food, service (most of the time).
Review 41:Long flight of stairs to access property. Will need to be fit.
Review 42:Friendly staff, very accommodating.
Review 43:Amazing hotel. Amazing crew
Review 44:Spacious rooms, 5 star service, helpful and polite staff, amazing views
Review 45:Remote location Pool not heated
Review 46:Incredible view Room comfort Staff
Review 47:the breakfast + room
Review 48:the view
Review 49:Poor wifi , loud AC, chlorine smell in room
Review 50:Great staff
Review 51:The view is amazing. Location is quite. Friendly staff.
Review 52:Everything about the hotel and the staff. The greatest vacation.
Review 53:Not a thing.
Review 54:Owner (George) was there every day! Fantastic service. Perfect location.
Review 55:Everthing the service
Review 56:Very amazing hotel its Waaaaw
Review 57:Jacuzzi made noises Shower water all over the bathroom floor Location more of middle of nowhere Had to rent car to get around
Review 58:Food View
Review 59:beautiful hotel,manager is a very nice man,helpful. recommoned
Review 60:Wifi didnt work first day
Review 61:The view
Review 62:Enjoyed this hotel so much. The staff were great and took excellent care of us. Stay here it's great!
Review 63:Great hotel, stunning views, very helpful staff. Highly recommended.
Review 64:The hot tub was not hot and when we asked for them to increase the temperature they kindly obliged...but it was still not hot afterwards. Also, and this isn't a complaint as it didn't bother us at all, but note that you will need to rent a car if you want to see the rest of the island.
Review 65:Stunning views, gorgeous room, amazing pool, very friendly service. Overall a wonderful experience in a unique hotel. Hi to Aldo the driver and all round good guy!
Review 66:As the Astarte suits are built into a mountain there are a lot of steep steps to the entrance.
Review 67:Akrotiri is a beautiful place with picturesque views wherever you look. Astarte suits had the best view overlooking the caldera the staff were amazing welcoming efficient thoughtful and very informative. Would go back.
Review 68:Only 1 thing. The 53steps up/down the resort from the main road. But, worth the climb each time. :)
Review 69:Awesome friendly owners and staff. Amazing view. Wonderful service. Great breakfast. Very clean and spacious room. Beautiful resort!
Review 70:I cannot fault this hotel, perfect service, perfect staff, perfect food, perfect views. You will fall in love instantly, the location is super private.
Review 71:don't come in winter! its freaking cold
Review 72:We had our 3 nights stay in Astarte, and found the place were amazing. Everything were perfect. the view, the breakfast, the hospitality, everything. the hotel run by the family, and they welcome you as family. you dont feel that you stay in a hotel, but better, its like you're having family welcoming you in santorini. a bit of tips: rent a car during your stay in santorini so u can be mobile. there are good places around the island that only can be reach by car.
Review 73:Amazing location. The family that runs the hotel took care of absolutely everything we needed, from tourist information to even arranging the car pick up and drop off. The food was great. Attention to detail doesn't get any better. We loved it and will definitely be going back as soon as we get a chance
Review 74:Honestly i have stayed at alote of hotels around the world but this one is the one that gave me the most suprise. I recomend Astarte Suits to everyone because is is has ALL the positives at full. Starting from the location, its on the edge of the mointain and u wake up in the morning having breakfast on ur rooms veranda with the ocean and the other side of santorini (excellent view). The staff is E-XCE-LENT, its a family buisiness and that makes it more welcome. My wife got sick the first day we went and they brought us medication and also called a local doctor to come and see her. Theres no words to say everything but i recomend for eveyone to go. I will surely go again no doubt about it!
Review 75:staff were great! views and the pool were amazing. room was awesome and clean, and the best views. details in the room are very nice and nothing is done cheap here. superb place would go back in heartbeat. Breakfast here is amazing
Review 76:I had to leave
Review 77:Simply the best hotel ever.. perfect for a honeymoon or romantic get away and it offers the best breakfast I ever had in my life.... Staff was amazing, friendly and so helpful.... Strongly recommend Astarte Suites
Review 78:Gorgeous view, very comfortable room, loverly spa, the waiters friendliness and charm, amazing food, George's smile and excited demeanor (one of the owners on reception). It is away from the hustle and bustle of Fira but that is the appeal, and only a €18 taxi, or 15 min walk to Akrotiri town to catch a bus for €3.60. Bus also goes to Oia. But only see the other towns for 1 day when your staying in accomodation like this! I could have stayed around the infinity pool for a week!
Review 79:We have just arrived back from a weeks holiday at the Astarte Suites in Santorini. We were absolutely blown away by the location of the suites. The view from our junior suite was magnificent. Situated on the cliff edge over looking the Caldera, Astarte really has the most tranquil and picturesque spot on the whole island. The suite itself was beautiful - incredibly well thought out and the jacuzzi was a revelation! We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast on our terrace every morning. The food is amazing full stop and I recommend that you try the 'Surprise Pastry' it's a must! Although the food is great for variety there is a lovely Taverna in walking distance from the suites which do amazing lamb dishes and if you want some freshly caught fish then a little further down the island is Giogoras a family run fish restaurant, it is reasonably priced and has the best grilled fish platter! What we loved about this place was the privacy. Even though many of the rooms were booked it never felt crowded and the service was impeccable. George and his team were so friendly, they struck the most wonderful balance between always being there when you needed them but disappearing when you didn't!Astarte is quite remote and although the walks to and from Akrotiri village were great, it is VERY hilly so what we would advise is that you hire a quad bike or a moped for some part of your stay. These are extremely cheap between €20 - €30 a day and can be hired through George at the suites. The bikes are delivered to Astarte for your convenience and collected. We managed to buzz up and the down the hills and out to Perissa beach, it was great for seeing more of the Island.Another must is a trip to Oia. This is do-able on a quad bike but we wouldn't recommend it! We decided to go by Taxi (again this can be sorted out for you by the lovely George). The price was €30 each way and it is definitely worth the money. Oia is picture postcard perfect, absolutely beautiful.
Review 80:- Very isolated and far from the main town fira thus regretted the location - no public transport facilities from the hotel apart from expensive taxis - very far from the main road thus cannot even catch the bus if you want to - no local shops or stores around, just 1 tavern nearby - complimentary breakfast had limited choices - had to use uncomfortable stairs which were very steep everytime to get in and out of the hotel - hotel menu very limited and food not that great
Review 81:- Spacious rooms - food being served in room, specially breakfast on terrace - amazing view from room - clean and nice room - hot tub in room was nice
Review 82:The WiFi is poor
Review 83:The hotel is in the most calm and pretty part of the island! It is placed literally within the rocks! It is really beatiful and romantic sitting in the morning on the terase, having breakfast and sterring at the caldera, the volcano and the whole island and you actualy do not need to go anywhere else! The staff is brilliant! The food is exceptional! The hot jakuzzi in which you can lay looking at the stars over the island is also an additional particularity that makes your stay with your partner even nicer. I would definetly recommend it to friends. It is one of the most romantic places on the see side!
Review 84:The steep climb up and down as walking the 30 odd steps is the only way in and out but it was good exercise
Review 85:I loved everything about the place, it's one I would recommend with confidence to anyone visiting santorini
Review 86:The water in the infinity pool was a bit cold .. just joking :) Can't say anything negative about this hotel
Review 87:Great hotel, friendly staff, delicious food, perfect service. You can easily spend quite a few days in the hotel and maybe only leaving it to hunt for sunsets..
Review 88:This is an excellent hotel very stylish and luxurious. Our stay there was perfect! A real paradise! George and Kostas, the hotel managers, are very nice guys and will do anything to make sure you enjoy your stay and relax. Vangelis the ''master'' of coctails is very friendly and willing to help you in anything you ask. The food was exquisite and in large quantities while the desserts were something more than just a temptation. Breakfast is rich and you have the ability to choose from a wide range exactly what you want and how you want it. The infinity pool is amazing and with a breathtaking view of the whole island and the volcano. I believe that the view from Acrotiri is the best in Santorini. For all these reasons why would anyone want to leave the hotel. I hope we will be back there soon!!
Review 89:- very poor value for money - very limited breakfast - unprofessional management - little extra services for such a price - included amenities (i.e. shower, jacuzzi) not functioning properly - wi-fi connection not working in the room and other areas poor connection - overall definitely not a 5-star experience at all and overly expensive for what they have to offer.
Review 90:This was the most beautiful place. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The view was breath taking. I can't wait to visit again.
Review 91:Only having a short stay.
Review 92:The position was superb, and the view was stunning. All the staff were so friendly and worked tirelessly. The food was excellent also.
Review 93:If anything at all then there are several steps to take on steep stairs to get to the hotel but that was no problem as the staff carried all of our luggage up and down without even being asked to.
Review 94:We could not be happier with our decision to stay at Astarte Suits for our honeymoon. It's a family-owned small boutique hotel, operated daily by two brothers - very nice guys who made every effort to ensure a perfect stay in Santorini. The service there was the best we have ever experienced at a hotel. They arranged a free transfer from the port at 3 a clock in the morning, carried our very heavy suitcases up and down the stairs that lead to the hotel, arranged tooth brushes and tooth paste from a local store in 10 minutes per our request, suggested and arranged different tours on the island that were really worth experiencing, recommended sights, good restaurants, quickly organized car rental, etc. In addition to the personal touch regarding service, the view from our suit was awesome as every room comes with a private terrace where you can also enjoy meals and drinks from the restaurant if you prefer not to dine by the poolside. The rooms were cleaned very carefully every day, the food was great and all the staff was friendly and hard working. In conclusion, my wife and I highly recommend Astarte Suites, especially for couples who prefer spending a lot of quality time at the hotel and enjoying a little more peace than the more touristic locations on the island can provide.
Review 95:The jacuzzi in the room took a little negotiation to get warm enough. Also, the door to the bathroom was rather transparent, which can be abit awkward for a romantic getaway.
Review 96:The hotel was beautiful, and the staff was fantastic! Excellent serviceand a truly romantic location.
Review 97:The bathroom in general small and the shower was not so practic. It could be improved.
Review 98:The views and peace
Review 99:Beds were just a little hard, but hard to complain since everything else was perfect.
Review 100:Views were amazing! The breakfast delivery was a great touch.
Review 101:The steps
Review 102:Fantastic view and service.
Review 103:nothing!!!
Review 104:very very friendly host!! nice view, nice hotel!! good number of rooms.
Review 105:Leaving!
Review 106:Owners and staff are above and beyond hospitable!
Review 107:Breakfast only served at 8 am in case you're a very early riser
Review 108:The Greek hospitality, the remote location, the views and the design of the hotel
Review 109:Wonderful facilities! Very suitable for honeymoon! Beautiful views outside the window. Spy is also very nice!
Review 110:The service is personalized.
Review 111:The team, the view, the service.
Review 112:the pool Food View from the room Staff
Review 113:the toilet and shower were together
Review 114:the location, the jacuzzi, breakfast at the balcony, view, the pool
Review 115:The mismatch between pictures and reality !! The picture have nothing todo with the reality
Review 116:Service
Review 117:The location is too far away. it costs 17euros to travel to Fira and 33euros to travel to Oia by taxi.
Review 118:The Staff and Service were superb!
Review 119:The food in the hotel are really nice. Room is comfortable. Nice people , nice view of the sea. Everything here was wonderful, memorisable.
Review 120:Great view and service. Amazing swimming pool especially at night.
Review 121:The staff was very nice, breakfast was amazing. The room facility was great, specially the hot tube.
