Reviews for Porto Kalamaki Hotel
Review 1:No storage for suitcases, toiletries. Balcony needs sunshade
Review 2:Location - cross the road for a great beach, food in the restaurant was excellent, mini market was really useful. Well presented, clean, nice kerb appeal, parking was not an issue.
Review 3:The staff at the reception desk are exceptionally friendly, well informed and welcoming. All the facilities, including the rooms, pool and bar were of high standard.
Review 4:-noise from the street, this is the main road to chania, and buses, vans and cars were driving whole day&night -very poor wi-fi -terrible noise from the shop nearby, which was next to the wall of our bedroom. During the opening between 6/7 AM everyday they made a horrible sound of metal scratching the wall, which woke up whole apartment. We made a complaint to the receptionist, and wanted to change the room but we were told that nothing was available and they will tell them to be more quiet. Nothing of that happened.
Review 5:We stayed there for whole week, everyday apartment was cleaned, beds were made, dishes washed and towels replaced if left on the floor. It is very close to fine restaurants and tavernas (Salavantes, Corinna Mare) and beautiful kalamaki beaches. The view was perfect- to the sea and delightful little blue chapel.
Review 6:Somewhat hard beds but they arranged an extra matress for us!
Review 7:Very friendly and helpfull staff! Location just between Platanias and Chania. Very good cleaning every day and several events held at the hotel like live music, Greek party.

Review 10:Nothing to complaint about.
Review 11:Clean rooms and comfortable beds, clean outdoors area, Wifi everywhere, nice staff especially Dora she was very helpful, quite and generally all are perfect.
Review 12:Room was right against the road which was noisy. Early morning cleaning with hosepipe running on the door at 0700hrs. Ants in the room but staff sorted them quickly but back the next day.
Review 13:Staff very friendly and helpful, food very nice. Pool area good.
Review 14:No laundry facilities. Cost of food and drinks
Review 15:Location Friendliness, helpfulness of reception staff Cleaning staff great, fresh sheets and towells daily which was wonderful Location of little supermarket however a bit more variety in foodstuffs would be good
Review 16:None.
Review 17:The owners are very friendly, don't hesitate, just ask them and they will help you with a smile. Rooms are clean with a big balcony and great view and free Wifi. Pool and Poolbar are good too. They even have an elevator and an mini-market.
Review 18:Water in their super-market 1 euro when I can buy this elsewhere for 30-50 cents.
Review 19:We stayed here with the in-laws. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were pleasant and courteous. Bus stop only a 100 ft from hotel to go to Chania. Lovely Pool and Pool Bar. Would have no hesitation to return there when visiting the north of Crete.
Review 20:The staff, all of them, were friendly, helpful, professional. Being there in April, it was quiet. This suited us, a mature couple. A few good restaurants nearby and a 15 minute bus ride to Chania made this location ideal for a week-long break.
Review 21:The music behind the bar was so boring
Review 22:Pool area was so clean and beautiful. Every room had balcony. Area is peaceful.bus stop to chania right outside the door for 1.50e every 15mins
Review 23:Music Choice playing in pool area was dismal and repetitive unfortunately could not help hearing.
Review 24:Closeness to beaches Bus service to Chania Nearby restaurants
Review 25:Location a little distance from beach & main restaurants. So long as you are prepared to walk a little would recommend as everything else was really positive.
Review 26:Staff were really friendly. Resort was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Excellent value for money.
Review 27:The mattress on the bed was hard and there was no parking unfortunately, you could park on one side of the street but the spaces were usually taken.
Review 28:We had a lovely time at Porto Kalamaki hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The food was nice and not at a good price. Nice pool and the rooms very clean. The cutlery and the dishes looked new. You had to sleep with the windows closed it was noisy from the street (cars passing by) but there was air conditioning in the rooms. Otherwise the area was quiet (no night clubs, no drunk teenagers). The hotel staff was playing relaxing musing in the evenings unless there was something going on, like a Greek evening - prepare for some dancing ;-). The beach was not too far, and the sea was right across the street. I would happily recommend this hotel.
Review 29:It is not right on the beach, across the street from the port, you can see the water easily from the hotel.
Review 30:The staff are nice very helpful, the room we have very nice and clean, location 15 min. away from town in the bus, it cost 1.60€ in the bus. close to several beaches, all and all it is nice hotel, with nice pool and nice bar, the staff in the pool bar very friendly, the food is very good and the prices are fair.
Review 31:Our room faced the street so it was a bit noisy - but even that wasn't a big deal.
Review 32:We were 6 adults and 4 kids ages 4, 2, 2, and 2 months. Our stay at Porto Kalamaki was better than we could have hoped for. Great staff at the front desk and restaurant/bar, perfect family rooms where our kids slept just fine, and a great location away from the hustle and bustle of the harbor but easy access to it and beautiful beaches by bus. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

Review 58:The friendliness of all the staff, polite, courteous, always willing to help. fond memories from Stellios, marketing, Andreas bar, catering & entertainments, to Maria & Nicoletta in Reception.!! The fact Margaret my wife & I ( Mr Henry!!) know them all personally speaks volumes for your Hotel!! We have pics which we shall forward to you!! Our trip was to attend a family wedding. I think we caused a stir in our "tartans"!! Thank you all ! Wonderful! We shall definitely be back!!
Review 59:WiFi a bit temperamental but hardly important on holiday!
Review 60:Staff very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Lovely bright comfy room. Lovely pool with good bar. Easy access to Chania and main roads.
Review 61:Dogs barking all the time. The beds was to hard. Unstable WiFi. 500 m to the Kalamaki beach, a nice walk :)
Review 62:Very nice hotel. Clean. Good value. The hotel has a good restaurant and a pool bar. Can pay with creditcard. The hotel also have a minimarket where you can buy fresh bread for your breakfast. The rooms where big and had everything we needed for the week.
Review 63:This is no complain, just a comment: Drinks at the restaurant (except plain water) way to expensive (6 Euros for a cappuccino). I am a water drinker, so for me it was fine, but some of my beer drinking friends were surprised as the saw the bill at the end. However, this is not really something to blame the hotel for.
Review 64:Stuff is very friendly. Restaurant nice, food is not too expensive (comparable to those in Chania). apartment was simple, clean, more than enough for me to stay overnight. Kitchen in the apartment has everything I need. Nights were quite. WiFi works - excellent.
Review 65:Everything was great! Best regards to Maria from reception - she was very helpful and friendly. We recomend Porto Kalamaki - great place for low prize.
Review 66:no private parking; although situated on the sea (actually on a small port), you have to walk to find a good beach
Review 67:excellent reception staff; large rooms; cleaning service; near the city of Chania by car (6 km) and fast access to "highway" road; swimming pool for the children; internet availability; super markets nearby
Review 68:No beach in front of the hotel (nearest at 100 m and at 500 m away) and some traffic noise.
Review 69:Ideal location for traveling, sightseeing, beach finding, room service excellent, air conditions top and value for money, staff honest and friendly. Bus service right outside the hotel to Chania city, restaurants near by, clean swimming pool... any people looking for much more should seek expensive 5 star hotels.
Review 70:close to the sea, but not a beach, need to go a few hundred metres either way to get access to the beach. Reception shuts at midnight. On street parking, may end up a few hundred yards on if particularly busy.
Review 71:Great food freshly prepared, not frozen stuff like most other restaurants around in chania. Lovely, helpful staff, decent sized pool, live music. Clean and close to the sea.
Review 72:The kindest people run this place and work very hard. We were chargedhostel rates for a luxury resort-like stay. The food was amazing andeverything was very safe and secure. We got free desserts and freshjuice as well as bottles of local olive oil on our departure. Convenientmarket is right outside and it is only a few minutes from the beach. Abus stop to old town is right in front of the hotel as well. Very quietand relaxing. Good air conditioning and lovely cleaners who left uscookies and candies.
Review 73:The only thing i didnt like was the shower space is too small and the shower curtian keeps sticking to you :)
Review 74:I liked the rooms they were spacious and very clean!! The pool area was so nice and music was relaxing, lovely place for children!! The price was excellent
Review 75:The beds were not very nice. The bathrooms too small and it was impossible to shower without everything getting wet. The minimarket says open till 23.30 but they were closed before 22. Not very quiet in the night. Dogs barking all night at the house next door.
Review 76:Nice pool and nice location.
