Reviews for Aegli Hotel
Review 1:We order a 3 persons room, and it ended up being a double room with a cot. It was fine, but not the most comfortable.
Review 2:The view is good. And owner and staff is helpful and very courteous.
Review 3:Well the shower was the bathroom, but if you remove the toilet paper roll, and adjust then it's fine. Water pressure great, warm water, etc.
Review 4:The owner is a good-natured man, very hospitable and friendly. He offered farm-fresh wine and made me feel great. The room was small and cozy, I can imagine that some people want more glitz, but for me, the simple, old-fashioned place was sufficient and the owner made it more than that (and the lady who serves the breakfast). The view from the balcony was gorgeous! I couldn't take enough panoramas!
Review 5:All is super considering the price! I note to avoid surprising upon arrival: shower, sink, toilet, furniture, blankets are a little old. But all in working order.
Review 6:A great plus of the hotel is its location: The hotel is located in the first line, right on the beach, has a small but cozy beach, next to the promenade, taverns, spa - you can get everywhere on foot, 200m to the mineral springs, a park with a waterfall on the waterfront. Lovely view of the sea from the small balcony: wake up and fall asleep to the sound of waves. Rooms are cleaned, linen is changed. Refrigerator, TV, air conditioning, shower. Staff friendly, especially hospitable host - always willing to help, prompt, ready to meet the wishes of guests - to change the number on the sea, in the form of a free meal of local wine on arrival. Breakfast - a standard buffet (Cheese, ham, jam, honey, coffee, tea). Generally Loutraki - a very pleasant town, ready to come back to this hotel.
Review 7:This has old style Greek hotel beds. Small and very firm.
Review 8:Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Good WiFi and on the beach, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Beautiful view from our balcony to Corinth. Very inexpensive, great option for visiting Corinth, Preachers, and Loutraki
Review 9:the bed! very uncomfortable.. springs sticking up.... the bathroom.very small bath come shower. a bit high to step into. metal rod underneath sink too close for comfort. hurt my arm on it.. having said that, there was a quick response from staff with first aid kit, and dressings. but here i am , home and five days later having it dressed at my own dostors surgary, and got go back to have the dressing changed. had to have a tetanus injection..... thats all you need after a lovely ,warm , blissful holiday! .
Review 10:the hospitality..manager and staff.
Review 11:Non existent bathroom, a handheld shower and you have to stand almost on top of the toilet to wash yourself. Basin was extremely small.. I changed hotels and paid for my 2 hour stay!!!!!
Review 12:Staff were friendly lovely balcony view of Gulf of Corinth
Review 13:No water in shower. Then water (weak flow) but no hot water. Owner and also receptionist said we could move on day 3, our last day but they never followed up on this. Poorly maintained property except for rather grand rooms near entrance.
Review 14:The view from the balcony was superb.Everything else left a lot to be desired.
Review 15:Only real downside was the shower, could use a holder for the shower wand so it doesn't have to be held by hand, and a backside so the water doesn't get all over the floor. This could be easily fixed though I think. Also we opted not to get the 5 eur breakfast as it seemed pretty lean.
Review 16:This hotel has the best views of the crystal clear water that I have ever seen. Literally right on the water, with big balconies to relax on. The rooms are big, have fridges, and the wifi was super fast. The hotel's private beach is somewhat rocky, so would recommend bringing water shoes (and some snorkel gear!) A short walk away is the downtown that has awesome and inexpensive Greek food. Also must see is Ancient Corinth/Acrocorinth (15 min away) and the stunning Corinth canal. We paid around 11 eur at Woodys for food enough to feed two adults and two small kids, and ate with an ocean view at that. Such a wonderful experience that we cut our Athens part of the trip shorter and added another night here. Incredible value.
Review 17:If the hotel is renovated, it will become a top one.
Review 18:Very nice and quiet location with sea view. It is within walking distance from restaurants and cafes and the sea. We were offered breakfast. The staff were very friendly and hospitable.
Review 19:Nothing major to complain about.
Review 20:I was here during the off season but the family that ran the hot were really nice and helpful. The location was absolutely amazing, I woke up to the sound of the ocean
Review 21:The very place of the hotel, just near the gulf. I'm already longing to come back when the weather is warm so as to go downstairs and take a swim in the gulf.
Review 22:We liked everything! We booked a three-bed room with an extra bed. The room was available at our arrival, but we happily took the owner's offer to stay in a large suite with two bedrooms,a living room and a kitchen for just 10 Euro per night more. The suite was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in. Travelling in February, we happily used the opportunity to enjoy fire in a fireplace (wood available, the owner made the fire for us the first night). The suite is very nicely furnished and has a great view of the bay, the sunsets were wonderful. From the hotel garden there is a direct access to a small beach, which the children appreciated a lot despite the February temperatures. The Corinth canal, the castle Acrocorinth, and the ancient sites of Corinth and Myceane are very close and very much worth seeing. Both the hotel owner and his son were very friendly, hosted us with wine and made our stay most pleasant. We hope to come to this place again and can recommend it to everyone!
Review 23:The maid showed us the penthouse too late otherwise I would definitely upgrade straight away!
Review 24:Winter season makes us become the only guest at that night, a sense of the King in his palace, every room is open and wine and biscuit was offered. On the day before we checked out, a hairdresser was called by the friendly staff to give me haircut at the room facing the sea!
Review 25:During off-peak(autumn/winter), this "hotel" is pretty much closed. All lights were off and front door was even locked with no hotel staff upon arrival. Our room was really old and definitely needed a renovation. The aircon didnt work properly, it didnt heat up the room and we had no hot water so we couldn't shower.
Review 26:Hotel staff was very friendly and approachable even though they weren't there when we got there. They gave us a welcome drink and even prepared some simple toast and jam and coffee for breakfast. They also gave us a euro$5 discount.
Review 27:We were not happy with the first room we were given. It was very small for a family and needed painting and a face-lift. Ask for another room, if you're not happy. The breakfast was very poor, so we only had it once. For wifi you need to go out on the chilly hallway or downstairs to the lounge.
Review 28:Once we asked for a bigger room, we we're moved the next day. Staff couldn't do enough. We were not charged for the one morning of breakfast we had. The room, although in need of major repainting and modernization, it was very clean, and kept that way every day. Owner gave us wine to take home. It's a budget hotel, but all of the hotel staff were friendly and polite. The hotel is right next to the Loutraki spa.
Review 29:Beds have to be renewed. Bathroom is awful - water comes from wash-bowl direct to shower tray - nice solution. Parking could be a tough task during the season. Room was smaller than we can stay with comfort (ca.12sqm).
Review 30:Location is perfect with own beach and small garden. Balcony with direct sea view. Small fridge. Lift. There are plenty of places to eat around (morning, day and evening). Nice real parquet floor. Good old building with high ceiling but worn.
Review 31:The shower is over the toilet and cramped. Small sheets.
Review 32:Loved the balcony overlooking the sea and the private beach. Has lift. The facilities were basic but hey, you're paying hostel rates. The staff were really friendly so it comes recommended for value.
Review 33:More variety for breakfast.
Review 34:Excellent location - very close to the center of Loutraki and SPA center, has a small private beach with stunning sunsets. Really kind staff - communicative and helpful, they treat us like close friends.
Review 35:I didn't like that we had only one night stay and we had to go:)
Review 36:The location of the hotel was superb, just next to the modern mineral water spa which we enjoyed tremendously. It had a lovely garden and fantastic small private beach! We swam in the sea and just 2 min. walk we went to the mineral baths with hydro massage and it was an awesome treat. The view from the hotel room is wonderful, overlooking the Bay of Corinth and Loutraki town. The staff was really helpful and we had a breakfast for 2.50€ each which was very good. We are looking forward to coming back soon! This was real value at a very low price indeed!
Review 37:Small bathroom needs renovation. Smelly room, noisy spa across the road. Our recommendation is ask for room with sea view.
Review 38:Excellent location, parking in front of hotel if you have some luck :) Private hotel beach where you can go with elevator, literally.
Review 39:old and not clean furniture in the room, not clean bathroom, towels old and were changed not regularly
Review 40:Location, view from balcony, short distance from the city-center, owner's attitude
Review 41:As it was already mentioned by many people the hotel needs renovation and the accomodation of some rooms is not good enouhg. I was lucky to have a nice room and was happy to listen to the sea - days and nights...
Review 42:Aegli hotel is perfectly situated - very close to the center of Loutraki and just opposite the spa center. Some rooms have very nice sea view. The hotel has a small but very convinient beach so you can have a swim in the morning just going down in the elevator. The owner of the hotel is very communicative and tries to help you in different situations.
Review 43:The view of the room is amazing. The private beach was clean and we could take a shower after swimming. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the time here.
Review 44:lack of true professionalism very limited breakfast awful facilities
Review 45:very friendly staff breathtaking view from a sea room excellent private beach
Review 46:Rooms were not like the photos, we had to choose among 3 rooms but all of them awful.
Review 47:Very good staff and owner, he gave us the one night money back because we left the hotel due we were not satisfied.
Review 48:Very good hospitality, Good Englisch Perfect view (sea)
Review 49:Breakfast and outdated bathroom.
Review 50:Location, friendly staff and an amazing view.
Review 51:not available hot shower in the morning
Review 52:Very kind and friendry hotel owner and staff.Nice view from the room and close to central town
Review 53:its quite old and not very clean.
Review 54:location is good, and we got a welcome drink ,which was a nice touch
Review 55:The bathroom was a bit tiny.
Review 56:The staff at the hotel were very nice.
Review 57:Needs modernization.
Review 58:Very friendly staff and welcome drink.Stylish.
Review 59:,almost evyrything.exept plase.Old bulding.dirty allplases.old and damaged equipment.Not value for the money.
Review 60:Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 61:the bill
Review 62:Not that clean. Not very well maintained, building a bit old, poor breakfast
Review 63:Close to lotraki centre. Not too expensive
Review 64:breakfast
Review 65:the view to the sea from the balconi was excellent
Review 66:the owner really makes you feel like at home the beach is just steps away!
Review 67:Brilliant location and staff
Review 68:It would be good to rearrange the rocks to have a better accessible private "beach".
Review 69:Friendly staff
Review 70:Excellent staff, they added breakfast free of charge, great sea view, easy parking nearby.
Review 71:The elevator was a trip! Owner very nice. Gave use a bottle of wine when we left. Could use a little renovating.
Review 72:Not very clear, the breakfast!
Review 73:The view
Review 74:Host was so kind and gave as the botle of wine, so we womed up even wos not hot water. It was December and seson quet, I bilieve.
Review 75:Outdated furniture and the strong incense they burn at night
Review 76:Location private beach
Review 77:The Room had old furniture, it could be better especially in comparison to the hall
Review 78:Location and service were very good.
Review 79:The beds were not comfortable.
Review 80:The location was very good and we enjoyed the wiew over the ocean. The staff was friendly and very helpfull.
Review 81:Staff was very loud and screaming Bathroom was very old and dirty Wi-fi not working
Review 82:Good private beach and view Good location
Review 83:LOCATION
Review 84:Hitoric building, the owner is there and takes personal care that everything is running smoothly. Best value for money close to everything, private beach in front, you can't go wrong with this choice
Review 85:Bathroom is not very comfy, a little bit too small.
Review 86:The location is great and the view from the balcony were stunning. It has private beach. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sheets and towels had been changed regularly.
Review 87:Beds were not very comfy, the room and bathroom could do with refurbishing to modernise, as very dated....
Review 88:The views from the balcony"s. the atmosphere was nice, sheets and towels changed regularly! Staff were all very pleasant and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay... Wi Fi was excellent reception and mobile phone had excellent signal.
Review 89:The hotel itself looks good. The bathroom in our room was not in a good condition and we did not have hot water. We struggled to have a shower. The room smelled cigarettes even though we asked for non-smoking option. We slept with the opened window which actually helped. The breakfast was a bit poor-no vegetables, no Greek touch at all.
Review 90:The staff was very kind and helpful. We have had a beautiful sea view from our balcony. You could hear the waves from the room which made us feel relaxed.
Review 91:We didn't have a room with a sea view but we could see the sea from the balcony in the hallway - beautiful! The staff was excellent - they offered us a glass of wine in the evening and a small breakfast (on the house) in the morning.
Review 92:It is suggested that there is a pool. There isn't! The pool view is the pool from the spa across the road! No hairdryers in the room. When I asked for one I was told they didn't have any. The rooms are very badly in need of updating. Old furniture and terrible decor. The bathroom was the size of a cupboard and very dark. The shower curtain was ripped. Lights didn't work.
Review 93:The hotel was close to all the attractions in Loutraki. The sea view is lovely.
Review 94:No hairdryer in my room.
Review 95:Excellent location and my room had a wonderful view of the Gulf of Corinth. Very welcoming and friendly staff with very good English. I was visiting the Sanctuary at Perahora and the Aegli is a great stopover at a very reasonable price.
Review 96:Not luxurious but great value for money. The view from our room was fantastic. Ideally placed to visit the thermal baths or to just enjoy walking through the streets of Loutraki.
Review 97:Came in December heater was broken froze all night Breakfast was a joke (bread & butter) No hot water apparently you need to request it ... along with toilet paper Fridge broken Rude staff ( took coffee pot out of my had to fill her own cup at breakfast then shoved it back at me) Phone broken
Review 98:Location Cheap
Review 99:old room, bathroom and building. No wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. Very basic. They don't accept credit cards and they don't give receipt. The hotel is not owned but rented so they are slowly improving its restyling
Review 100:stunning sea view, near to the promenade with bars and taverns but first of all it is the nearest to the spa: you can cross the road wearing your bathrobe and enter the thermal spa building. If you can resist without luxury for a weekend and use Aegli just for sleeping, it is the cheapest in Loutraki.
Review 101:we had to wait 40 minutes to be checked in. When we arrived no one was there. It is advertised as having a 24 hour reception so we were confused. The Wi-Fi is not very strong.
Review 102:We loved the location. The view from our balcony was beautiful. Our double room was very comfortable. Breakfast was just okay. The price for the room was very cheap.
Review 103:Tiny and wet wc+shower in single rooms, insects, refusal of managers to change the room while available, reminders on towels' change.
Review 104:The best location- beach, close to city centre and spa, quiet - for seaside rooms, value for money, friendly staff.
Review 105:- despite the information on the website, the room for 3 was very small (the reason might have been that we were occasionally not in the booking list of the hotel, and they might have given us a double room with extra bed) - very small bathroom and no hanger for the shower (had to hold it) - wifi in the lobby and green zone outside, but not in the room - no bicycle rental mentioned on the website - poor air conditioning in our room: in was on maximum capacity but it was still hot in the room
Review 106:- very friendly and helpful staff - nice view from any room in the hotel (sea and mountains) - big balcony - spring with mineral water on the hotel territory - private beach and green zone with cozy sunbeds - good location near the bus station - beautiful living room near reception - we had a late departure but they allowed us to leave our luggage in the hotel till afternoon
Review 107:Communication issues with some of the staff who don't speak English but it wasn't too bad as there was another guest of the hotel who could translate for me.
Review 108:Although there was a bit of trouble with my booking in the beginning (I was given a room with no view which was promised on booking.com), the problem was soon resolved and I was given a room with a balcony and nice view of the sea. The owner was friendly and the place is nice and close to everything (beach, bars, restaurants, mini market, etc).
Review 109:Two channels only on the TV..
Review 110:Very friendly staff, breakfast until late, quiet area and good condition for the hotel's age. Clean, spacy rooms.. View from the beach side of the hotel is a must see..
Review 111:The breakfast was a bit poor, and there were a lot of ants in the room but otherwise it was clean.
Review 112:The owners and receptionists were extremely friendly, though some of them don't speak English at all. The hotel is on the main street close to everything and was really cheap according to the prices during the Acropolis Rally.
Review 113:Old furniture, but still OK for the price. Handheld telephone shower only. WiFi available close to the lobby only. Difficult to find parking space arround the neighborhood.
Review 114:Excellent price/quality ratio. Good location. Nice garden at the see shore. Relatively clean. Great hotel for Rally Acropolis spectators.
Review 115:Localization is great, it has private beach and staff is very friendly!
Review 116:The room was a little bit too small...
Review 117:The location and the view from the balcony were stunning!
Review 118:Bed room and bathroom filthy , especially bathroom
Review 119:Location and hotel personal
Review 120:The hotel is right on the coast, in fact our room had a balcony that opened right overlooking the ocean. A very quiet, peaceful place to stay.
Review 121:- High quality wifi - Very hospitable staff - nice location
Review 122:unfortunately the wlan had some dropouts, but then it was working it was really fast.
Review 123:very kind and helpful owner and employees
Review 124:bathroom breakfast
Review 125:staff
Review 126:Excellent value for money
Review 127:Very friendly staff, good position, very clost to the Loutraki Thermal Spa!
