Reviews for Queens Hotel

Review 1:Wasps nest possible found 4 wasps in the room when we woke up Two inches gap at the bottom of the door you could slide a roast dinner under it without any mess Wallpaper peeling No soap Shower curtain was black

Review 2:Peaceful night sleep other than that terrible room

Review 3:Bathroom in our room was dirty and we stuck to the floor. Waiter at breakfast didn't speak to us apart from the odd grunt.

Review 4:The reception staff were wonderful

Review 5:Lodgings were in a separate building and were of a poor standard. Would think twice before booking at Queens Hotel again.

Review 6:Excellent dining room and good food. Good wi-fi connection. Good entertainment and refreshments.

Review 7:Excellent would definitely recommend. In the middle of shops and a walk across the road to the beach really enjoyed our weekend will be staying at the Queens lodge again loved it.

Review 8:We were in the annex with impossible stairs, a tiny room and shower stall and free parking was only available after 4pm and on the street which was slightly misleading

Review 9:The location

Review 10:View of a car park from our lodge room. Not a problem for us, especially since we got a good price for our stay.

Review 11:Very happy with our stay overall. The lodge was clean, comfortable and had all the facilities you would expect.

Review 12:Our first night was in room 12 in the Queens Lodge. The room was uninviting and the fire precautions were to my mind unsatisfactory, single staircase. Two further nights were spent in room 16 on the ground floor , this was a much nicer room and was well situated. The stairs in the Lodge were carpeted but the carpet was in need of a good vacuum.

Review 13:The main Hotel was excellent and the staff were mostly friendly and helpful. The evening entertainment on the one night it was available was pretty good. Mr Daniels comedian/singer. The position on the prom was really convenient for all amenities.

Review 14:Hated where our room was situated at the top of approximately sixtysteps on the top floor of an annexe (Lodge) (third floor) with 18 to 21steps with half landings in three sets in addition to the steps outside.I have breathing problems (bronchiectasis) and am awaiting total kneereplacement, my husband has a heart condition. Asked the receptionist ifwe could move to a twin bedded room on a lower floor and was toldnothing available. Hated the bed -booked a twin room (confirmed on mybooking confirmation) and had a hard uncomfortable double). Very old-fashioned bedding. No toiletries, not even a small piece of soapprovided, even though we were shown other rooms in the same annexe onour departure and they had toiletries provided. The receptionist whorefused to move us was very unhelpful on every occasion and with everyenquiry. There were a number of errors on our booking compared with whatwe actually received and she was unwilling to help or amend thehotel's mistakes, we had to rely on another member of receptionstaff putting a word in our defence. Tried to book a return trip for athemed break but was given conflicting information by two separatereceptionists. Bad customer care when purchasing gifts at reception too.

Review 15:Absolutely loved the food - there was no faulting it, loved the locationof the hotel on the seafront, loved the care and attention by most(except two) of the staff (cannot remember all names or descriptions ofthe good ones but here are a few I do remember Sam in reception andyoung blonde lady in reception, Neal, Thomas and Stephan waiting/barstaff, David in restaurant, Michelle in restaurant, loved theentertainment, loved the pet friendliness toward our nine year old dog.Loved the little touches to the service in the restaurant and whentaking tea/drinks in the lounge.

Review 16:I picked the hotel because said it had its own car park but it was small so not enough space. Spent an hour looking for parking space. Would have been better to say that parking was limited so I knew what to expect. Didn't have access to wifi.

Review 17:Very nice location near the sea front. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, room was clean with everything we needed. Plenty of choice on the breakfast menu.

Review 18:Being housed in the annex (L.1) This room a little cramped, very small shower cubicle and no bath. Lack of Carparking space.Got parked but couldn't use car as not certain to find space on return.

Review 19:Mostly staff and the food. We were Bed and Breakfast. Tried an Evening meal and it was very nice and well presented, but table was really too small to do meal justice

Review 20:I booked this room with a two year old. Our room wasn't in the Queens hotel unbeknown to me until I got there , it was in a 4 storey block with no lift across the road - the lodge! I had to get up 4 flights of stairs with a toddler, bags and push chair. The room was small, the shower was like standing under a drip off an umbrella, you could hear everything in the other rooms. I then had to go back down the stairs and over to the main hotel for breakfast with my toddler, in the cold and wet, to which I was charged a breakfast for (they did refund toddlers breakfast) I won't lie, I was very disappointed by the whole thing. Not sure how you get a room in the actual hotel and annoyed that I wasn't informed that it wasn't in the hotel until arrival. £70 is very expensive for what you get! Again I must reiterate the staff were lovely

Review 21:Location and staff were lovely.

Review 22:The decor was dated, bordering on shabby. Catered for the older coach travellers. Dining room felt like a canteen during breakfast. Pets were allowed, nearly tripped over one small dog in entrance / reception area

Review 23:Staff, very helpful & patient, which they needed to be to cope with demands of the older guests. Location

Review 24:On two occasions had to ask for a different clean glass as the glasses had traces of lipstick on them.

Review 25:Very pleasant staff Good food very nicely served and very reasonably priced. Room with a sea view made for a very nice stay.

Review 26:Building was across the street from main hotel, no facilities, ie no wifi as advertised, no elevator as advertised, no bar as advertised, no reception, plug socket coming away from wall, bed was a very small double, and bedding looked like army surplus, we booked three rooms and this just describes one of them!

Review 27:Nothing!

Review 28:We requested somewhere to change into our "Wedding finery" as we were arriving quite early and the staff were exceptionally helpful in getting our room done quickly so we could get in and change, The en-suite was small but very good.

Review 29:stayed for weekend.only managed to stay 1 night the noise from both rooms couldn't get any sleep.hotel did offer to move us.

Review 30:stayed for evening meal very good value for money

Review 31:The room was not in the main hotel so to use the internet you had to cross the road to get to the lounge area. The room was very dated and tired looking.

Review 32:Location was good and within easy walking distance of the beach, restaurants, pier etc. it was fine for a one night stay but I wouldn't want to be in one of those particular rooms for a long term stay.

Review 33:It was just very dated and small in the double room of the annexe/lodge. However, It was clean.

Review 34:The location was brilliant. The sheets and bathroom were clean.

Review 35:Room in the Lodge very basic and drab

Review 36:Breakfast was very good.

Review 37:Very tired rooms and furnishings Poor bar area Inadequate parking

Review 39:Staff very friendly and helpful we stayed in the lodge the room has been decorated to a very good standard

Review 40:The bed was somewhat uncomfortable.

Review 41:The staff were friendly and the room was warm and clean.

Review 42:Didn't like the fact that dogs were in hotel.. Carpets stunk and need changing or even cleaning...

Review 43:Poor choice on menu and restrictive access

Review 44:Service and willingness to help

Review 45:The car park is small - insufficient for the number of guests.

Review 46:The Hotel is on the ' front ' within easy walking distance of the centre.

Review 47:The company

Review 48:Having to climb stairs and being over the road from the main hotel

Review 86:STAFF WERE PATIENT AND HELPFUL WITH DISABLED.

Review 87:Quality of evening meals could be improved.

Review 88:Free wi-fi. Friendly staff.

Review 89:i was put in the lodge, not the proper hotel. i was stuck on the top floor with no lifts and no mention of any help with humping of cases up all the stairs

Review 90:We travelled from manchester for a Christening. We arrived at 13.00 but they made us wait till 14.00. So we arrived late for the Christening. I know that the check in time was 14.00 but I worked in hotels for many years and you can make the room ready if you want too. Also there was no parking space and when I was told where to park a gentleman who works for the hotel me the car park was full and I should park somewhere else. So I wont be using this hotel again.

Review 91:Having to cross street for food etc.annex noise from upstairs.front door slamming/breakfast £6.50 porridge, cooked breakfast not to my standard no juice.table for 2 very small /dangerous with hot tea and boiling water, had to ask for extra toast. I did have the decency at check out to say they had not charged me for 2 breakfasts which they added in pencil and not a thank you.manners ??? WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL

Review 92:not a lot

Review 93:There was nowhere to park and the desk staff told us to come back after the shops were shut. The hotel didn't supply any toiletries so we had to go out to buy them. This should have been made clear on their booking information. We asked for a quiet room but seem to have been put directly over the evening sing-song. This led to a noisy night. I think the hotel is aimed at coach parties and pensioners, not younger visitors.

Review 94:The location by the sea was good.

Review 95:Having a very heavy cold :( but even then, those beds were SOOOOoooooooo comfy, didn't want to get out of bed.

Review 96:The hotel looked good, easily able to walk to local shops and cafes etc. Found the staff to be exceptionally pleasant and went out of their way to ensure our stay was one to remember....... for all the right reason's.

Review 97:Room facilities were not adequate for a 3 star hotel. There was not even shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom.
