Reviews for Villa Zacharo

Review 1:No dislikes.

Review 2:Everything, particularly the hospitality of Jacob the host. Felt like a family atmosphere. Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise, wasn't just a bunch of sweets, had eggs, Greek yogurt, olives and other healthier items.

Review 3:Although we didn't expect it we were met at the ferry by Jacob, he was an excellent source of information on the island and explained a lot to us. Our room was small but had everything we needed, including a view of the monastery. Good breakfast every day, very good value for money

Review 4:Family run and very helpful. The Hotel is close to the ferry dock and on the Road to the Cave of the Apocalypse and a fascinating Monastery which overlooks Skala. The Monastery contains texts around 1500 years old and numerous icons depicting the life of Saint John, one of the first disciples and who outlived all the others. It was at the Cave where John's experiences led to the book which we call Revelation and which has been included as the last book of the Bible. Buses for the Monastery and Cave leave from a terminal by the main dock on a regular basis. The buses are very comfortable, are well driven and also pass the Medical Centre. There are numerous shops nearby and a well stocked super market almost next door.

Review 5:Exceptional value for your money. Free and delicious breakfast. Walking distance to the port, main bus station and taxis. Easy bus ride to anywhere on the island including all beaches, cave and monastery. Very clean rooms with nice balconies. We had a room with a great view of the monastery. Everything about this property was exceptional, but the best part was its owner JACOB. We will never ever forget him. From the moment he picked us up from the port until we had to part ways (sadly) after 2 nights stay, Jacob made our stay at his place and island of Patmos memorable. Jacob went out of his way to make us feel as part of his own family by either giving us a ride with his own vehicle to the monastery and dinner or tell us the whole history of Patmos, apostle John or Orthodox Christianity. He even let us check out late and stay after midnight on our last day to catch a late ferry without charging us for extra day. But the best part was when Jacob recommended a nice restaurant for our 21st wedding anniversary and gave us a free ride to and from the restaurant so we didn't have to walk. He also brought fresh flowers for my wife and shared dinner with us. Thank you Jacob for everything he had done for us, making us as being part of your family and making our Patmos island experience memorable. We will never forget you. We wish you and your family all the best.

Review 6:comparing to there places like that - overpriced, 30 euro and no kitchen facilities

Review 7:all was fine, I only stayed there one night on my way to other islands. very close to the port, nice and helpful staff, free water and tea

Review 8:With the good location also comes some noise from the trafic. Closing the doors and using the air condition during the night solves this. Time is due for some upgrade of the rooms.

Review 9:Host and his wife are very, very nice and helpful. Their attitude give the hotel a pleasant athmosphere. Location is good as it is close to everything.

Review 10:We spent four days here in september 2015. The staff is very friendly and the place is excellent. Ver close to the harbour and within walking distance of the cave of st. John. Very good value for your money.

Review 11:It is a time warp hotel with old fashioned bathrooms and corridor lighting on time switches. However given the room rate and the unpretentious 2 star rating, there is very little to complain about. Indeed the charm and warmth of the owner is 5 star, I would certainly stay again.

Review 12:Convenient hotel with a simply outstanding owner who cannot do too much to help guests enjoy their stay. He even picked us up from the port in his car (the hotel is barely 100 metres away) and offered to return our luggage to the port for our departure. Fantastic value for money given the location, individually controlled air conditioning in the rooms and the fact everything works. Ideal for a 1 or 2 day stay.

Review 13:The furnishing and rooms are quite dated but did not detract from the great location and the helpless of the English speaking staff.

Review 14:The owner picked me up from the ferry port which I was not expecting and gave me a very warm welcome. The day after on request from me he gave me a lot of history into Patmos and the Greek Ortodox church.

Review 15:It was fairly basic, but air conditioned. The breakfast was also quite basic, but there was plenty of it and it did the trick.

Review 16:The manager met me at the ferry, even though it arrived after midnight and the hotel is 2 minutes from the port. He then gave my the room for half price for a second night since my ferry didn't leave until 3am. He was helpful with breakfast and any information I needed. And super friendly.

Review 17:Patmos is full of motorcycles so there is a constant engine voice at almost every hour of the day. Breakfast was poor.

Review 18:Location is close to city center and to the port The owner of the hotel was very friendly and gave us good advices. He vent found us a cheap moto for rent.

Review 19:Location

Review 20:Very friendly owner

Review 21:Very nice house. I had a room with a view to the monastery. It is close to the harbor, but the owner picked me up in the middle of the night.

Review 22:the kindness and goodness of the owners

Review 23:location, the friendly owner and his wife

Review 24:nothing

Review 25:been picked up from the ferry by the owner good central hotel with nice outside space

Review 26:friendly staff , comfortable with that being at home feel, located within walking distance to the port and center, supermarket nearby as well as scooter rental across the street

Review 27:I stayed at this location for the purpose of visiting Patmos' christiansites. The area was great for a relaxation. The owner was reallyfriendly and explained the history of the island as well. Everything iswithin walking distance, including the port of Scala.

Review 28:It was located right next to the only Island shopping store. It was also a 3 minutes walk to the beach, shops and places to eat.
