Reviews for Kalimera Hotel

Review 1:We requested for a room with the view of the caldera and they said all room comes with a view, but there was no view. The shower curtains were too short that when you shower, the bathroom floors got wet.

Review 2:Staff was not very helpful and in some instances rude (for example when we asked for an extra towel). Bathroom was tiny, and shower so small you were sticking to the curtain. Disgusting. Horrible breakfast, as even the very simple things they had (croissants and cakes) were old and stale.

Review 3:Nice Caldera view from balcony (please note: not all rooms have Caldera view).

Review 4:There were two older staff members that were not very friendly. They would not acknacknowledge me even after I spoke to them in Greek.

Review 5:The staff was wonderful and very helpful with directions around the island. The room was spacious and bed was extremely comfortable.

Review 6:Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is nice for those who want to visit several nearby beaches and the archeological site. Nicely removed from the traffic, crowds and insanity of the more "touristy" locations. With the included breakfast it's and excellent value for money

Review 7:No negatives

Review 8:The location was great for us, being more interested in history (eg Akrotiri archeological site) rather than beaches. The Akrotiri site was within walking distance and the red beach just a bit further on. It was a short walk to numerous and excellent local tavernas. There was a local bus stop directly out the front of the hotel which was a comfortable 20 minute trip to Fira. A picturesque countryside location amongst vineyards, with easy and affordable bus access to any other location on the island. All of our interactions were with the younger staff and they were always very helpful. Our room was very comfortable and we loved our courtyard overlooking the vineyard. The traditional Santorini architecture and the gardens and landscaping were very colourful and attractive. The layout of the hotel, including the restaurant and pool area was lovely and well thought out. There were some great finishing touches in the decor using traditional/antique artifacts and replicas of ancient artwork. The traditional Greek and Continental buffet breakfast was a hit every morning.

Review 9:The hotel wasn't what I expected. Rooms were poor. Breakfast was not that good either. Some staff were helpful, others were not and some rude/blunt.

Review 10:The only thing I liked about my stay was the fact that we were in beautiful Santorini

Review 11:Everything was amazing

Review 12:This hotel is great I will always recommended to everyone because I book this hotel and I told them please change the hotel payment from the card and they help a lots also the reception was awesome stuff and hotel just great thank you kalimera hotel I will always remember that don't think twice just booked this hotel

Review 13:The suite is not a suite. The day bed/couch & cot were horrible. The room had 2 levels, the stairs to the 2nd level were unsafe & not easy to get to.

Review 14:The pool area and it was close to the bus stop to go into Fira. Quiet area too. Some restaurants and a few stores in Akrotiri to go shopping as well.

Review 15:Older staff were very miserable and unhelpful, breakfast was very limited and not much left.

Review 16:Nice pool, rooms always clean, affordable and nice view from balcony.

Review 17:Although the bus stop is front of the hotel, there are no late buses from Thira. This means it is not possible to spend evenings at Oya or Thira if you want to use the public transport.

Review 18:- very nice and cozy hotel - nicely decorated rooms - good food - 10 minutes (steep) walk to the beach - fantastic views across the street (not from the hotel)

Review 19:Breakfast lacks fresh fruit and vegetables.

Review 20:The location is great! Just 10 min walk to Caldera beach; bust stop is just outside the hotel; Acrotiri prehistoric town and Red beach are in a walking distance (or accessible by bus). Loved the staff - family kept hotel, everybody is very friendly and helpful! Hotel is well maintained - clean rooms, clean pool, tasty food in the restaurant.

Review 21:a little bit noice during nights due to the main road in front of the hotel

Review 22:hotel room, pool, garden all OK, friendlly and helpfull staff , small beach a few meters down the cliff with nice rocks above, Acrotiri town in close by with a few taverns and shops, located on main road with bus connection to Fira and other places on the island.

Review 23:Shower is typically Greek-small. Though there is a curtain and mat and the cleaning/maid service good. A selection of fruit at breakfast would have been nice but the quality of food provided was good.

Review 24:Resort is very quiet with only a few restaurants. Hotel food is good though. Very pretty and relaxing setting. Bus stop outside hotel. Hotel staff friendly and very helpful.

Review 25:- Very grumpy staff: they looked angry all the time, not saying anything- very commercial prices, we are a family of 2+3 kids, they told us that two kids had to sleep in 1 bed: that was not an option: very small 1-person beds. An extra bed was only possible if we paid 125 euro extra! - Bad transfer service: started from 9am. We had to take a taxi (25 euro) at 8.30 to catch our plane, no flexibility at all from the staff - facilities at room very poor: only 1 very small fridge, no waterboiler to cook some water for tea/coffee

Review 26:- Good location, next to a bus stop, supermarket and some restaurants- room was clean with sea view (not to the caldera however)

Review 27:The rooms was tiny. So you have to put your luggage on the bed and have your partner stand in the bathroom to manouvre around it. The breakfast was the same everyday for 5 days with no changes and no fresh fruit. After a 3 days it became quite tedious and I think it lets the place down. We never ate from the restaurant there because the breakfast didnt inspire us to try the other food from their kitchen. Little details like providing a bottle of water on arrival were lacking. So because of this, the size of rooms and the breakfast I thought it was overpriced. We spent the same money in other parts of Europe and received a better quality of accomodation.

Review 28:Very clean little hotel with lovely gardens and pool area. The staff look after it well. Location has good views but out of the busiest areas and the village of Akrotiri is charming. The staff were kind and helpful.

Review 29:Although the room description was stating "unlimited view to caldera & aegean sea" we were put in a ground floor room with pool view and a veranda connected with the breakfast area! Far too expensive for the quality offering. The breakfast was bearly eatable and the owners who were almost the only personel rude!

Review 30:Very poor breakfast, do not pay for the breakfast. Some staff were more helpful than others. Rooms need to be updated

Review 31:Pretty good location if you want a quiet area. Has an ok view, it is on the other side of the road, and there are some amazing hotels across the road that are right on the cliff. Hotel has some good facilities, nice pool and a restaurant, but the breakfast was so poor I don't know why anyone would eat there. Close to several beaches. Some staff were more helpful than others.

Review 32:None

Review 33:The location is great because it has beautiful views but at the same time you can enjoy the beach within walking distance, this is not very common in Santorini. The staff is very friendly an accomodating, they provided transportation from port and to airport. The food was very good, everything fresh and delicious, loved the salads. Easy access to Fira and Oia. We loved it and we would return.

Review 34:Good location, nice room with private balcony, pool and pool bar, friendly staff, breakfast included

Review 35:not close to the red or white beaches as mentioned in the hotel description. my room has no wifi

Review 36:Friendly and helpful receptionist.

Review 37:- very caring and homely environment = safe and clean facilities. - near the Akrotiri Museum/red beach -

Review 38:Poor bed comfort (plastified undersheet like a hospital bed), breakfast without any fresh fruits (in June !)

Review 39:Reception, facilities

Review 40:Very helpful staff.

Review 41:The staff quality and availability and service has an overall I felt at my home

Review 42:rooms were comfortable. the staff was very kind and helpful. the room was clean. it is very near to famous red beach.

Review 43:Maybe the pool needs a few more umbrellas

Review 44:A pleasant atmosphere thanks to its staff, services, discretion, cleanliness and rest of guests.

Review 45:It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit available at thebreakfast buffet.

Review 46:A nice family run hotel. The daughter was welcoming and gave us lots ofuseful information about the area, buses etc. And the son gave us a liftback to the airport when we left.

Review 47:Access to the beaches required hiking down the hill or taking public transportation, but that's the trade off for being on top of the island with a spectacular view of the sunset over the caldera.

Review 48:Flora and her family provided friendly assistance with any and all questions or needs. Breakfast was great and could be eaten by the pool, if desired. Transfers from the ferry port were included in our room rate, which was extremely helpful. Flora also arranged for rental scooters to be brought to the hotel for us. The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped with a variety of succulents and flowering plants; the pool was spotless and relaxing.

Review 49:You feel on every step the kindness and involvement of all stuff and family taking care of the hotel and the guests. Thank you for making our stay so nice!

Review 50:Excellent service and advices from Yorge and Flora for everything on the Island. The hôtel is well maintained with a great pool for relaxing. The view is vert nice. Best location for the sunset. It is located on a quiet location where Red beach and Caldera beach can be accessed easily. The ancient town of Akrotiri is very close. Caldeira beach, just in front of the hôtel, is great for snorkeling, is not crowded and has a nice restaurant for lunch. The breakfast is healthy and good. We also loved to have dinner near the pool. The dinner was great and vegetables fresh from their garden. A great 7 days that went too fast.

Review 51:Familyrun, good value hotel with a nice pool and bar. Close to the beach and to a small town. Historical area with an archeological museum. GREAT place to relax and chill out :) Restaurants close by - perfect for watching the sunsets!

Review 52:Poor breakfast, the same all days, served in a very limit time-framefrom 08.00 to 10.00, so now way to sleep a little bit more when you arein vacation

Review 53:Very nice hotel, good location near the beach, the Acrotiri village andjust a few meters from the bus station and from the mini-market,friendly and helpful staff, they did pick up us from the port for free, proximity to the Caldera beach which is a very nice beach with treeshadows, nice pool, all kind of facilities if you want to rent a motor,a car or to book trips around, sea view from all the windows

Review 54:Very friendly staff. Informative and helpful. Convenient location outside of the business of Fira.

Review 55:Took dinner one evening, but food not wonderful.

Review 56:Staff very friendly and helpful. Very well situated hotel near to ancient Akrotiri and beaches.
